I so enjoyed it when a real person answers a business phone by the third ring! I prefer dealing with an independent small business for this reason alone. We are looking to make a large purchase and want to gather knowledge from someone that actually uses and lives with what they sell. Hergert Sport Center passes with bright stars!!

I first would go to Hergert’s when I needed experienced people to help me make a buying decision. Now I check with them first on almost everything. If they don’t carry what I need, they still offer the best recommendations and I’ve found their prices quite competitive - in fact, a tube we just purchased was almost $50 less than a local big box store. Worth the trip!

It was so nice going into a sporting goods store where the sales people actually know about the item(s) they sell! I needed a life vest for my 8 year old son, and they took the time to show us what they had. Then fitted him and made sure it was the right one!Note: They were a little busy when we arrived, so we had to wait a few minutes to get waited on. But it was well worth it! We will definitely be shopping at Hergerts when we need sporting goods!

I went in for local advise on where to ice fish in the area. The gents working there could not have been more helpful even though it was fairly obvious I was not going to buy anything at that time. Friendly to a non-customer out of towner, so they get my vote!
