Good store, wish there was a wider selection of books though

This place is such a treasure! An old bank, now fabulously a book store! They keep their crime books IN THE VAULT, guys! Go here immediatly!

The Book Vault is an intriguing bookstore, full of the works of local authors/publishers, and some popular authors as well. In addition to books, there are gift items and kitchen supplies the farther back into the store you go. Ive been able to find an Osky post card here (though its the same one every time, and a little pricy for printed cardstock) for sending to friends and family. Finding that post card has been my favorite part about visiting the Book Vault. :)

This place is beautiful, organized, interesting, & has helpful staff.

An absolute gem in town. You can tell the books and other goods are curated by the store to offer an interesting selection. The interior was a delightful surprise of high ceilings and book nooks in the old vault.

I love a good book store and when its right next to one of my favorite coffee shops its a even better. Located right next to Smokey Row this book store has everything from local history books to kids books to cook books and everything in between. Its also more than a book store with great gifts for the kitchen or games for the family. I loved browsing the 2 levels while sipping my hot tea. If you love a good bookstore this one is charming and you can feel the history of the building with the different vaults full of books. Ill be back for sure!

This is a great book store! I love the selection of books and the unique setting and great location in the square. Always fun to stop and shop here, I highly recommend!

The Book Vault is charming as a building and as a bookstore. I discovered today that the locking mechanism on the vault door still works! I like that it has a section dedicated to Iowa books but also has a good variety of books about places and topics far beyond Iowa. This is a bookstore that could holds its own in any major city. So being in small town Oskaloosa makes it a diamond in the rough.

I love Book Vault and I feel so lucky to live in Oskaloosa so I get to visit whenever I want. Theres so much to look at and the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. Even if they dont have what youre looking for, ordering books is a breeze and takes only like a week. Definitely make this a stop to hit whenever you come by Osky.

Just a nice store. Good selection of books, clean environment and its in an old bank building. Really cool! They offer book club, author signing events and much more.It is so worth a visit when you are looking for a special book gift or kitchen gadgets, jewelry, etc. Fun place!

Love this place! Great fun variety; staff is knowledgeable and anxious to help if they dont have what youre looking for. Offering local events is a fun treat as well. This is a must stop if you are passing through.

I buy books (last years I spent $1,000 on books) all the time and I use to go in here and buy books from the 75% off section, sometimes even new releases.I quit going here, because the place is uninviting and the ladies that have worked there are not very great service wise.Just go order on Amazon, you will be better fulfilled and its easier.Id love to support this store, but I just dont like the people here.

My friend and I were looking at books and the worker kicked us out for no reason. All we were doing was looking at books because it’s a BOOKSTORE! And here’s exactly what she said. “You guys need to leave right now. You’re trying to vandalize property and it won’t be tolerated! GET OUT!” My friend was literally trying to find Waldo and Odlaw.

Ive visited here a couple of times in the past, and every time I went was fantastic. The staff is very helpful. Even if the store doesnt have a book available on their shelves, they are willing and able to order the book that you want.

This is now on my list of all-time favorite book stores. The decor is amazing and the variety is huge! I only wish there was a tip jar. 10/10, will be coming back!

I love this place! The wide selection of books, the unique and welcoming ambiance, the comfortable nooks to read, the knowledgable and helpful staff all make this a waaaaay better place to buy books than on Amazon. I order online on the Book Vaults website then go pick up my books at the store. Or just go in and browse. I dont live in Osky but it is always worth the drive.
