Ive been taking vehicles here for 10 years for various needs: general maintenance, serious repairs, mechanical inspections on cars I was planning to buy, etc., and one thing I can say is - despite changes in service managers over those years - there has been a consistent level of quality service and general pleasantness that has been maintained. Credit, I feel, needs to be given to Tim, the owner, for keeping experienced and educated techs in the shop and congenial, knowledgeable, and calm managers at the front desk. I say calm because, as we all know, theyre the ones delivering the news on our vehicles - the good, the bad, and the ugly (including what work and repairs are going to cost) - and sometimes we the consumer dont like hearing what they have to tell us. It cant be an easy job interfacing with consumers in a profession that has an inherent sense of untrustworthiness to it because of our societys conditioned concerns with being taken advantage of when it comes to our vehicles. Anyway, my point is this: give this shop a chance. Let Tim and his crew have the opportunity to provide you with their service and form your own opinion. But based on a recent personal experience with this shop, I can tell you that my belief in Tim as a fair and responsible businessman (and a decent human being) has only increased, and I believe he instills and expects those same qualities in his staff and techs. I will continue to give my business to this AAMCO shop because I feel they’re trustworthy, fair, and provide quality workmanship and service.
My 16 year old son went here yesterday to have his alternator looked at. They told him they needed to replace his battery cables for $150. Several hours later he came to get his car and they tried charging him $250. To their credit, they did “settle” for $170.. They did NOT replace the cables, but instead replaced the terminal clamps (a $6 part that takes 5 minutes) and then told him that the alternator was indeed bad and it would cost him another nearly $700 to replace. Pure highway robbery!A few hours later the negative clamp fell off because it was stripped out.I came in from out of state today and replaced their poor job on the cable clamps and changed the alternator ($66) in less than an hour.Clearly these people took advantage of an innocent teenage customer. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
As a bartender and painter i meet a lot of tradesmen. In all of my 38 years, the best mechanic I have ever met is this good old-fashioned true blue country boy named Travis. Travis works here. You will thank me and you are welcome.
They communicate very well and keep you up-to-date. Just pricey. They did work with us and let us take our vehicle to another shop for repairs that would not effect the warranty on their work. Always stay informed and get second opinions if money is an issue.
We had to wait for parts to come in but Greg and his team pulled it off. I would highly recommend AAMCO for your transmission needs!
Tim and his team take incredible care of their customers. We have a fleet of 7 service trucks and use them exclusively for our maintenance. My mom had an issue with her car. Greg was responsive to her needs and her car was repaired in a timely manner. Id recommend this company to everyone looking for an honest and professional service company that takes pride in customer satisfaction.
Greg, the manager, was very patient and answered all of my questions. He kept me well-informed and emailed the necessary documents to me. I appreciate the fact that Greg didnt charge me for a diagnostic test for my car. Most companies charge between $75 and $85 dollars even if they dont repair your car. This was a much needed break for me.
I was commuting to Overland Park and experienced transmission issues. I looked up AAMCO on google and the reviews match the service. Greg and his team were very transparent, explained to me the issues and also printed out an estimate report. Highly recommend this AAMCO based on my experience
They closed literally as soon as I got there didnt even wait for me, I even told them I would be there at 5:30 and they said your keys will be waiting for you. I said cool well they didnt wait they just closed at their time. Like why tell me you would wait till I got there and got my keys. So unfair unprofessional.
These guys always help me out with fast service and they always try to find the best prices for parts
2015 f150 fuel pump. First problem occurrd whe tow drive locked the truck, knowing the battery was dead. The same thing happened when he came to get truck, but I had the hood open. Next, manager gregg calls and says the key fob is bad, and we need new key fob and programming ($500). Tow fee $150 to yow truck 3.5 miles. Next was 3 hrs to replace fuel pump $377.97, and $472.20 for pump module. Was told battery would not hold charge, another $271.73.Total chare $1,952.45, with $100 cupon.RediculousNext, store manager said they have financing available, and offered to help if we needed it. When we went pick truck up, manager said son was approved for $500. Told him it was our impression that the entire job would be financed. He said he knows nothing about the financing, and AAMCO has nothing to do with financing. All he kept saying was they (AAMCO) doesn’t have anythig to do with financing. We paid the bill, and left. I told manager I was very unhappy, and would post this review, so hopefully others would avoid such incompetent work.
Had a horrible experience with a different car repair business, these guys were AWESOME! Diagnosed and fixed my previous issue, pricing was great, great communication and explanation about what was going on. Caleb has great customer care! No doubt my Lexus will be brought back here in the future. Thanks again for fixing my car in a timely manner and exceeding my expectations on quality customer care and work.
This place is amazing ! So I’m in a unfamiliar place looking for someone to service my car.. I literally drove onto the lot as they were opening. I had the most pleasant experience... As a result I am back on the highway with no car drama.. Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart you totally Rock !!
We are from Wichita and were preparing to return home and several dash warning lights started to come on. AAMCO was willing to work us in to take a look at this issue. After going over everything Manny told us he believed that we were safe to return home or we could leave our vehicle for a further detail look. We made it home with no further problems. I appreciate this business honesty and service as they certainly could have taken advantage of our situation and charged for their time or more.
The crew there is extremely dishonest. I was having issues with my transmission slipping and an awful whine sound. Extensive research showed I needed a new transmission filter as it was clogged (2003 car with 170k miles.. fluid had never been changed, which I explained). My pump was being starved from fluid due to the clogged filter. I went in asking to have my transmission filter replaced along with new transmission fluid and explained why. They completely disregarded what I asked for, took it for a spin and came back with a dab of fluid on their finger showing me “metal shavings” the size of a grain of salt. He was almost happy to slam on me that I “needed a new transmission.” Refused to change my filter. Went to autozone and purchased a filter and fluid to change myself. Noticed not a single metal shaving was shown on my magnets inside the pan, let alone the bolt to the pan even being taken off (doubt they even assessed that). My job fixed the problem completely. $50 fix sure beat the $3500-$4000 they wanted.. will NEVER take my car there again let alone any ammco. Ruined their reputation on my end. Hope others don’t have similar issues. Just wanted to share my story.
This place was amazing! They worked hard and fixed my car super fast! Couldn’t ask for a better crew there! They made sure I understood what was wrong and didn’t try to over charge me or upsale me. Good staff and good service! Rob and mike were amazing.
Aamco is the only place Ill take both mine and my wifes car. Unfortunately I have needed quite a bit work done on both and these guys have always been great to work with. They take the time to explain the problem, recommend the best course of action for repair, and then work with you on a fair price. Obviously nobody likes auto repairs but since we all have to deal with it Id suggest going to Aamco where there are mechanics you can trust!
AAMCO in Overland park were great..they got my transmission back and running in a matter of just 3 days and were so nice and really helped me out after going to a regular mechanic first.
I took my car to three different places to investigate why my transmission was not working correctly. I should have read the reviews for this AAMCO first because they are spot on and excellent. They do great work and charge a very fair price. I was very pleased with their customer service and follow-up. Excellent place to take your car.
I brought my Jeep in last week last minute. I had called several places that morning to take a look at a potential oil leak. This was the only place that was willing to have me bring it in day of and see if they had time to take a look. Keith was very pleasant on the phone when I called in and was easy to communicate with when dropping off. I explained my situation, as I was supposed to be driving several hours in order to move. They moved things around and got me in sooner than they had stated - My jeep ended up having over 6 hrs worth of labor to do and they started working on it immediately after I agreed and gave them the go ahead with the quote they had provided. They not only managed to fix my car same day, but Keith and Manny stayed WAY after close time to ensure that it would be safe to drive. The end price was right on par with that they had quoted, and there was zero BS involved. They told me what my problems were straight up, and took me to show the complete work done afterwards. Their customer service was absolutely exceptional and I will definitely be a lifelong customer of theirs! Thanks guys!
Kaleb was very helpful and informative concerning all the questions I had. Im not sure if he is still employed there, but I do know that they do free diagnostics on your vehicle, and its best that you schedule an appointment with them first.
Fantastic shop that does honest work at an awesome value. I took my 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 here for multiple problems which intimidates most mechanics but they were able to fix it no problem at a good rate. Ill continue to use this shop as long as theyre here.
I had AAMCO check out a car before I bought it. The service was superb. The staff was very friendly and they were definitely my advocate. I didnt have to worry about them hiding anything. They were open and honest and answered any question I had. I have typically had good service at AAMCO at different locations in the past, but this staff also works well and treats customers well. They are also accommodating to a busy schedule and work to get you in and out as soon as possible. I will be going back for service in the future.
Always Friendly, always professional. Keith and Gus are Great. My husband, and I have been going here for years. They are always trying to find a way to save money where they can. We trust them 100% My husband and I know little about the mechanics of a car. Keith and Gus take their time in explaining things and make us feel like they are always looking out for the best interest of us, to ensure we come back. Great customer service.
Had horrible transmission issues spring up on my drive home. Was sent here from another shop. These guys were SO honest and willing to help me out. No pressure, all information. Seriously made what could have been a horrible day, manageable. I’m so thankful.
Up-Date: (3-17-16) I want to give another shout out to the Overland Park AAMCO team for their fast and efficient help today. I had a headlight out. I am a mother of a 10 month old and did not want to drive at night without a headlight. Called ahead to check availability. Even though it was a holiday (St. Patrick Day) and even though they did not have the part in stock. They fit me in same day and it only took 35-45 min start to finish to fix the headlight. Yes, that included ordering and delivering the missing part. Outstanding customer service. Incredibly efficient. And very honest and genuine about their capability. You will not regret calling them to see if they can help you too!Original Post 2015: The team at AAMCO in Overland Park are outstanding. With years in the business, they are knowledgeable and friendly. They take care of your family personal and company vehicles. Thank you Overland Park AAMCO!
Went there with out appointment then take care of me right way.. kealob is very knowledgeable what he does. Free check on engine light..highly recommended it
They did what they said they were going to do. And that goes along way with me, thank you all so much
On our first visit, we were given the very best service, with honest information and reliable work. I am willing to drive a distance (past many other car repair shops) to have the peace of mind Keith and the rest of the team provide. Thank you!!
I have been taking my cars to Tim at Aamco for years and they do great work! You cant say enough about a good, honest mechanic who is going to get your car taken care of and get you back on the road safe. They always do what needs to be done and do NOT try to sell me things I dont need. I highly recommend them to anyone!
Unbelievable service. Great advice for every question and affordable prices for each of my repairs. Keith is super helpful and works hard for the customer! In addition to all of this they sent me a personalized thank you letter for bringing my car in. You guys run a great business. May God bless you!
Manny always does an amazing job! Very fast and very professional! If you want quality work done fast go see him!
This place has amazing service and the guys that work there are super friendly and professional. I went in to check on getting my a/c fixed. Not only did they quote me a fair price, they got me in immediately! The warranty that went with my service was also fantastic. I could not recommend this place enough. Great experience.
Great service. Repairs were made in a timely manner and at a fair price. I had one additional small issue after leaving the shop and Keith corrected it in under an hour. I would highly recommend this shop.
I worked with AAMCO on Metcalf, all I got to say is great service and honest workers. Replacement of a transmission can be very costly. They answered all my questions and was honest about services. I have 2004 saturn Vue 165,000 miles that has a CVT transmission. I didnt want to purchase a new vehicle they diagnose my issue and it needed a transmission. Only issue they came across was finding parts took longer than 4 days as promised. I had to call to get answers they were upfront As a patient person I am I understand. I was very happy on getting my hulk back. Now it runs smooth and picks up feels stiff like a new ride.
Keith is a great guy and very knowledgeable, there are a ton of shops on Metcalf and I chose this shop based on other reviews and I couldnt be happier. They go above and beyond to help you get your car safe and road worthy. They are definitely going to be one of my first choices for maintenance and repair in the future.
I received outstanding service when I took my car into AAMCO in Merriam! I needed an oil change as well as a diagnosis as to a check engine light and was super impressed with how quickly they performed my oil change and diagnosed my car. Not only was I in and out in a flash but they were able to tell me the reason for the warning light and assured me my engine was fine and explained why the light had come on-failure to screw gas cap on tightly. They could have easily told me anything under the sun was wrong so I really appreciate their honesty! I will be going back here again and again!!!
Extraordinary place to have any vehicle repair work DONE...give it a shot...you will find that you will not be disappointed...
Brought in an 06 Altima with suspected faulty wiper fluid pump. Turns out previous dealer had put water in the fluid. Keith could have sold me a new pump but he kept it overnight, let it thaw, and replaced the fluid. Works fine and NO CHARGE!! Couldnt believe it. Restores my faith in car repair. Will DEFINITELY bring our other cars here. Ask for Keith!
Took my car to another establishment and was told nothing wrong. My son told me to go here and I got the best service Ive seen in quite a while. Very professional and didnt talk down to me. Did a complete job and was done when promised at the price promised. Would definitely go back for service and tell my friends to go there also.
Keith and the staff at AAMCO in Overland Park were great! They fixed my air conditioner and power windows in no time and were very thorough in checking to make sure nothing else was going on. Very personable, honest and up-front service I would gladly recommend to anyone!
I am from out of town and was visiting family and had to have my starter replaced. AAMCO treated me better than I could have ever expected. We placed a call to them to check the cost of having the work done there and they were the best around. They were so efficient, while my vehicle was being towed to their shop, they were busy getting the part so that it would be there when my Explorer arrived. In less than 2 hrs. they had the work completed. Jeremiah was the one who completed the job. I would highly recommend the staff at AAMCO.
This Shop is great and they do everything. The staff is highly skilled and knowledgeable.Roy was super helpful and explained every step along the way about what was going on with my vehicle, and was really honest about it all. I just went in for a CEL problem that turned out to be the Camshaft Sensor. I am new in the area and I already recommend this place. I went because of the good reviews I found for it, and they were definitely right. Ill be going here first for anything else as long as I live here.
Great customer service. Ive been pleased with every experience. Wouldnt bring my vehicles anywhere else.
Caleb kept me informed the entire time my SUV was in the shop. Fast service (same day with appointment). Cost was on the lower end of what they quoted AND lower than any other shops I checked out in JoCo and KCK. Nice staff!
Went here to get brake pads replaced and for quotes on a few other needed jobs. Walked in, was immediately helped by Roy, and my vehicle was rolled in minutes later for an inspection. After the inspection I was told my pads had plenty of bite left on them so it wasnt necessary to replace them- good news. I was also told the grinding noise during acceleration and turns that I was curious about was due to worn motor mounts and Roy had me into the shop to take a look and sure enough they appeared shot. He also recommended valve cover gasket replacements after showing me exactly where the oil leak was coming from. I decided to replace the motor mounts as that was critical and Roy didnt pressure me into getting the valve cover gasket replaced. It must be a slow leak anyway since I check the oil levels periodically. Overall, I was accurately quoted a fair price and was promptly rolled outta there with no more grinding noise. Im happy! Oh yeah, and theres free and fast WIFI while you wait. Ill be back.
I highly recommend Roy McDaniel and his store on Merriam Lane. Last week, I was in the Merriam area for business and ended up with my car deciding to go south on me. By chance, I happened to look in my rearview mirror from the gravel parking lot and noticed that I had died right next to Roys shop. Even though it was 4:45pm on a Friday afternoon and Roy was getting ready to head out for the weekend, he and his mechanic got the car inside, put it up on a rack and checked it out. It turned out that the right constant velocity axle shaft and hub had gone bad. There was no time to fix the car before closing (nor could he get the parts that late in the day), so he kept it over the weekend and fixed it first thing Monday. As I was in Merriam from Lawrence, he stayed until 6pm to let me be comfortable in the air conditioning until someone came to pick me up. This caused disharmony at his home that evening, from what I understand, but he was willing to endure an unhappy wife to provide top-notch customer service. In 22 years of business ownership, I have met and worked with many fellow business owners on both ends of the relationship. In that experience, I must say that Roy exemplifies what it means to be a good, hard-working, customer satisfaction-centered, small businessman. I highly recommend him for his ethics, willingness to go beyond the call of duty, and his very positive and helpful attitude. Roy shall definitely see my vehicles in the future.
Keith and his team always give great service at a fair price. They have worked on my car and my sons car more than once. I would highly recommend their services if you want to work with a company you can trust.
Keith and the folks at AAMCO are amazing. Honest, fair prices, thorough and reliable. Make an appointment and get your car fixed at AAMCO. My family and I are newly relocated to the area and I am a bit hesitant to trust mechanics. As a Christian businessman I will not hesitate to bring my cars to them again and again.
Caleb is a great guy to work with. He is an asset to your company. I recomend he gets a raise. He has a lot of responsibility and handles customers well. Friendly and patient. Thank you Caleb and Aamco!
I had a great experience with the guys at AAMCO. Roy was friendly and informative and Jeremiah did a great job on my car. He went above and beyond with no extra charge. Thanks Jeremiah! I will definitely be going back.
They were nice. But suuuuuper over priced.
They gave me a better quote than another garage to replace my stabilizers, and then they fit me in right then on the spur of the moment. They were quick, I was out of there in 45 minutes without having an appointment. I like that they showed me exactly where my stabilizer was broken, so I could see that the repair was needed, and explained what they do for the car. He also told me that I did the right thing by making this repair and why ... and I liked having my decision validated. I would recommend them to other people, and will start taking my car there for other repairs and maintenance in the future.
Staff here is amazing! In and out in about 30 min. Will definitely be coming back here to service my car.
I took my car into AAMCO for an oil change and a few other minor repairs. The guys at AAMCO were friend & knowledgeable. They were also great about working with my busy schedule! I would highly recommend them! Thanks!
These guys are top notch. Took my Jeep in to get it checked out before selling. Keith and the guys were honest and to the point helping me and the buyer make the best decision! I use them for all our families auto needs.
Being new to this area i was looking for a dependable air-conditioning repair on my car. I visited this place and was super impressed by their customer service and professionalism. I am very happy with the response and the services provided and will definitely recommend this place.
Roy gave me a very fair quote. When the costs overran the quote, he was willing to eat the costs to stand by his word. They turned the work around in only a couple of days, and the transmission works great! As a bonus, they now have a credit program that offers 6 months same-as-cash for anyone that qualifies -- really helped. I highly recommend Aamco of Merriam, KS!
We got our transmission changed on our Mitsubishi Galant. Our experience couldn’t have been better! They explained everything that was gonna be done to my car and how much it was going to cost me. They made sure that I was 100% satisfied and told me if I had any issues to bring it right back. Haven’t had any issues! I highly recommend this AAMCO. They do more then just transmissions too!
The short: Great honest shop and who have tremendous pride and dignity behind their work. They were truly a blessing! The losing: I have a 2004 Buck LeSabre with 60k miles the the transmission start slipping. They took a look at it for FREE. Yes ladies and gentlemen I said FREE! The problem was identified as a compression solenoid the went bad and also noticed my motor mount mount need to be replaced. This is my daily car plus my Uber vehicle to earn extra cash. The AAMCO fools told me it would take two days and got it done in one. When I picked it up I noticed the car drove better but still slipped. Well come to find out there is an adjustment phase and the transmission hadnt made those adjustments. The took another look at it and replaced the compression solenoid and another part at no cost to me. It runs better now than before I had all the transmission issues. Good shop. Good guys. They were truly a blessing!
Mike and Rob are great guys and they will take great care of you. They really care
I took in our Pontiac Vibe because it needed an oil change, the brakes sounded funny and I had concerns about the transmission. The employees there informed me only my front brakes needed replacing, the rotors were fine, and the transmission work should still be under warranty. Any place that tries to save me money, and does less work than I expect gets my vote! They were also very prompt. An oil change and front brakes took than two hours without an appointment!
These guys are the best! I was in dire straits when the transmission went out in my motor home. They quoted a price and stuck to it. The truth is they had actually had done more than quoted. In the end they still held their price and completion date. They will have my business forever. Roy & Tim are the best! Try them you will not be sorry!
Roy was great! AAMCO gave me the cheapest quote and the price at the end was actually cheaper than what was quoted. I received great customer service there and would recommend this place to anyone.
Roy and his staff really delivered! Able to fit me to do a little warranty work and some basic maintenance. And, the work was done on time!I wish to thank Roy, it is rare to meet someone who actually cares.Roy is a true EntreLeader!Great job guys!
Keith and the team are awesome. They are very knowledgable and upfront on everything. They do great work and make sure everything is right. They rebuilt my transmission about six months ago and it has been great. I am slow getting this review out but wanted to make sure I did because it is so hard to find a good shop anymore. This is one of the only true shops left. I will be taking all of my bigger issues to them that I dont want to tackle.
I am very late in writing this review, but would strongly endorse AAMCO at 79th and Metcalf if you are in need of transmission work. Keith and his technicians replaced two transmissions for me. One, a very simple job for my Ford Expedition. Second, a much more complex job for an LR3 Land Rover. Numerous issues, several of which were the fault of Aristocrat Motor I believe, but AAMCO stood by their work and kept at it until it was 100% perfect -> including replacing a computer at their cost. Two thumbs up for these guys. You would be crazy not to call Keith if youre having a transmission issue.
Keith Jacobson is the best! Ive been all over the country and never had someone explain to me with so much detail what was wrong with my pick up truck. It was a mess! He guided me on best choices and after fixing multiple leaks, replacing the front axel assembly, replacing solenoids, and the oil pan gasket, he guided me to a place that builds catalytic converters. He suggested ways to reduce costs and I was extremely happy with the end result. I strongly recommend this AAMCO for mechanical repairs!
I had an extremely positive experience with the guys @ the Merriam AAMCO. I was having major transmission issues on a 2001 Dodge Dakota and they fixed it quickly and accurately for a very reasonable price. Id definitely recommend these folks for all of your car needs - not just transmission work!
Several months ago I was having issues with my 04 F150 SuperCrew so I stopped in at AAMCO in Merriam. Roy and the guys there took great care of me and my truck with a timely and cost effective repair (Tim even gave me a ride home while they were working on my truck). These guys earned my respect and a return customer. I recently needed to perform scheduled maintenance on my truck which included changing the transmission fluid. Again I took my truck to Roy and the gang. They flushed my transmission and had me on my way within an hour. They also offer a military discount which I think is AWESOME!
These folks are the BEST! We take all of our company vehicles there and they are prompt, courteous and do good work! Dont miss your chance to get great service.!
One of the best experience Ive ever had working with a shop. Took the vehicle in to have the clutch rebuilt, and Roys mechanics found the previous shop had installed the wrong cv half shaft and destroying the seal in the process. They went out of their way to fix this issue and for less than the prior shop had charged for the job initially. Roy was easy to talk to and upfront about the progress with the car and the cost involved. Customer for life. :)
We were referred to Aamco by a friend to get our transmission rebuilt. They gave us a price quote and an estimated time to complete the service. As promised, the car was ready on time and when we came to pick it up, Roy was extremely helpful and even offered some professional advice for car care tips in the future! Couldnt have had a better experience!
Excellent service, excellent price. Fixedmy problem and only my problem. No added emergencies, or unexpected issues. Ill be back
I had been quoted over $850 plus labor by another car care place in Lenexa for a dial that had gone out on my 2005 Highlander (controlled inside temperature). I brought my car to Tim and he quoted me the same price BUT... said he thought he could figure out a viable alternative to repair this electronic failure. Needless to say, I received a call from Tim later that afternoon and the issue was resolved perfectly, and they had also changed my oil, as I had requested!! Tim and his crew saved me literally hundreds of dollars. The work was done within one day and I appreciated Tim thinking outside the box to fix my car problem at a reasonable price. HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone!!!
First time customer. Will definitely be going back. Very positive experience.
I barely managed to avoid a collision when the break pedal on my 96 ranger sank nearly to the floor. I took the truck to AAMCO Merriam, and they said that the line to the front left brake had rusted out and ruptured. They were willing to try replace the line, but were worried that the excessive rust would make it hard or impossible to put back together. Sure enough, they got it done the same day for the price they had originally quoted me. Great job.
I called AAMCO on a Monday afternoon and they got me in the next day. They looked over my car and going in I was certain I had a big transmission repair bill coming. Fortunately, they were honest enough to admit that was not the case. They took care of two sepearate issues at a fraction of the cost and included a free oil change. I couldnt have asked for a better experience!
Short version:--Very knowledgeable--Very helpful--Very friendly--On time!--Cost as quoted!!--They treat you like a person, not a pile of moneyMy transmission (98 Blazer) went out a few days after a big snow storm leaving me with only 1st & 3rd. After calling a few other shops, I called AAMCO on the suggestion of a friend. Best phone call ever!!Roy was very courteous and helpful over the phone. He said that, due to the storm, they had been very busy and were extending their special that had ended more than a week ago. The quoted price was $300 - $500 cheaper than any other shop and offered a much better warranty. After I got to the shop, Roy was extremely helpful and assuring. I described the problem, which he recognized and told me that it was a fairly common problem with GM transmissions of my age and mileage. He explained that AAMCOs warranty would cover the entire transmission, not just the parts they replace (unless I crack the housing while rock crawling, lol) and that it was good nationwide at nearly 1,000 locations. Roy also let me know that the price he gave me wasnt an estimate; that is what it was going to cost (+tax of course). If it needed more parts than normal, that was their problem, not mineWhen I picked my truck up, Tim (the owner) was there. He explained that Roy had a family emergency, but that he knew who I was and what had been done for me. These guys know how to run a repair shop.
My check engine soon light came on and went to get it checked out. Big mistake as I took it to a different place. This other auto care gave me a high repair quote of $1600 due to three major repairs, making me fearful to even drive my car. Yes it was every fear of being manipulated coming true.Called Aamco and they assured me. I needed a lot of assurance at this point. The repair was $300.00. Two items I was told needed to be replaced by the other auto care place did not even require work. This is an honest business with caring people who do great work. When they say free inspection they mean free. I am so grateful for this business and recommend them to everyone who drives a vehicle.
Come in and see how customer orientated we are!! Find out for yourself, this outstanding Transmission and Total Car Care facility in Merriam,Ks. is ready to serve!! Come in for a $19.95 oil change and a free Brake inspection! Ask for Roy!!
This business has seen my car twice now and is still having transmission problems. They also have horrible attitudes toward me in the building and on the phone. They rebuilt my transmission the first time I brought my car to them, then a year later my transmission has broken parts in it which resulted in drive not working at all, which they fixed and then wanted $2,000 for a 2 year warranty which I thought was crazy since they just fixed it for the 2nd time. And now my transmission is slipping a year after that. I called to get it in for the third time and they were extremely rude on the phone with an unnecessary tone in voice and tried to tell me I drive my vehicle hard. I am not a crazy driver and my car never goes off-roading. I will not bring my car back to this AAMCO again. They lost a loyal customer who paid them an arm and a leg. All I want is for my transmission to be fixed for good. I would not recommend this transmission repair shop to anyone if you are having transmission problems.
Speak to Caleb he is a great manager, very helpful at making me understand and respectful. Great service. I will advice to check them out at Aamco on metcalf and 79th in overlandpark. Promise you will be satisfied, thats where i send my loved ones to avoid hustle s.
My wife was running late for dialysis and her door was frozen open. She slowly drove a few blocks to AAMCO and was greeted kindly. They took care of the problem with the door and she was on her way to enjoythe rest of her day. Thank you, Tim and your staff.
Great experience at the Merriam AAMCO. They fixed up my Infiniti QX4 and the price was even lower than what Roy quoted me for. That doesnt happen very often. I recommend bringing your vehicle here for service.
They gave a free inspection on brakes and acceleration, and also suggested me a few things i should be doing on my car to make it run better. Thanks to Manny that I didnt have to go out and spend $25 on brakes inspection.
The staff works very fast; more importantly, they are straight up honest. They will show you what is broken if you want to see for yourself. #betterthantherest
I took my car into AAMCO when my check engine light came on. They explained, unfortunately, that I had to get a new transmission. But in the end it wasnt as painful an experience as it could have been working with the staff at this AAMCO. They went out of their way to give me a ride to work when I had to leave my car at the shop and then kept in communication with me the entire time my car was there. They even spoke with my dad, who lives in another state, to explain the problem to him. I will be back here for oil changes and other repairs. Thanks!
They give fair prices, do great honest work, and take great care of me every time I go in. I highly recommend this location for all car repair needs. They stand by their work and will do it right the first time.
I purchased a vehicle and brought it to these guys, they fixed everything wrong with it and provided me with exceptional customer service after the repairs were done. Highly recommended mechanic!
What a bunch of shysters. They replaced the transmission in my 92 Subaru, and thank god we bought the extended warranty. Transmission has gone out twice since they worked on it, and they honored the warranty but tooks weeks to fix it each time. Now a wheel bearing and brake rotor have gone out, and my mechanic (who actually knows what hes doing) believes they didnt tighten everything back properly last time they worked on it. They looked at it but assured us that that wasnt the case. The customer service has been terrible as well, theyd keep saying itd be done by a certain date only for that day to come and go without hearing anything from them. Only bring your car here if you want shoddy work that takes forever.
Roy and the mechanics (great name for a band, by the way) provided fast, reliable and honest service. My vehicle has new life with repairs done at a reasonable price backed by a great guarantee.
Very reasonable pricing and great to work with.
Totally happy with my service.( new transmission new radiator )anytime I had a question I called they were up front and answer my questions completely. Ive already been back to get my window motor Replaced and Im planning work on my gas gauge.
Had a first rate-experience with AAMCO and Keith. I will definitely be a returning customer.
- First of all, the owner is very rude! No value for Customer- They overcharge and have high repair prices- They dont get their work done .(2 weeks +)- I went because of all the good reviews but only to be disappointed repeatedly!!
Caleb was really nice, helpful and very patient.
Best price, best service. Thanks a ton, we could use more of your kind, everywhere.
The manager at this aamco Keith is a real nice and honest guy.. they did my transmission on my mercedes and i am very pleased ..
I found Keith and team at the Metcalf AAMCO via word-of-mouth referrals from two independent shop owners. Those shop owners said that for transmission problems on German cars, go directly to Metcalf AAMCO. Keith correctly diagnosed my issue as a broken front axel, not a transmission issue, then located a like-new axel from a salvage service. I could not be happier with service and price! 2010 MB C Class, 4Matic.
