Higher end department store which is a real pleasure to shop in. There is a baby grand piano in the center and was being played beautifully during my visit. I was looking for a special formal dress and they really didnt have much of a selection. They have a section for wedding gifts and needs and I did find a couple of things for my daughters upcoming wedding. I will return to shop here.

What a true full service department store should be! Amazing customer service and clearly staff that care about their store. It was so refreshing to stop here on our way home and remember what an elegant department store is - they are sadly no longer available where I live.

It had the welcome feeling, even if you were not able too afford anything at the present time. All the workers were very friendly!!

Very clean, open space. Its the first time I had been there. The staff was very attentive and helpful. I did notice their friendly demeanor towards children. Most of the staff attempt to give my son a sticker or direct me to a chair while my wife and daughter tried on close.

Staff was very friendly. The gentleman in the suits area was very helpful. Store is clean and well stocked. Dressing rooms are open during pandemic, so you can still try things out if you wish.

Staff is helpful, but products are woefully overpriced compared to buying them directly from the sellers website.

I just wanted to look around and the workers just would not leave me alone no matter what. Ended up forcing me into buying pants I know would not fit and they don’t. Definitely returning these terrible pants. Do not shop here unless ur being expected to buy the whole store out. -27/10

Von Mar is the only store in the Kansas City area that I buy All my gifts from and my grandchildren’s clothing at. Their Customer Service is above any other Department Store I’ve ever shopped at. Every gift ( many) has Always been Liked. I have always purchased my shoes there since their opening in 2008. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE VON MAR.

Great sales but can honestly say the store doesnt show the same customer service for black customers as they do with white customers. 5/30/20 three associates holding a conversation never once asked if I a black woman needed assistance. As soon as a Caucasian woman came over they quickly came to her and ask if she needed a fitting room. Spoke with a manager on duty and voiced my concerns. She didnt seem to really care.

Von Maur is a wonderful store. The people who work there are so helpful & you can actually find an employee to help you. The store is neat, clothes are not thrown all over displays. Everything is arranged so you can see product. I believe they gift wrap for free. It is refreshing to shop there.

Beautiful store, they have the best selection of clothes and shoes. Their service is unbeatable. The staff helped me find the perfect dress and shoes to match and was so nice and kind all the time. A pianist was playing a lovely tune in the background and the interior made me feel as if I had stepped into some 1940s-50s upscale shop. It truly made me feel gloriously rich and beautiful.

Had an excellent experience here today. Got some nice items, then enjoyed a free Starbucks beverage while my purchase was gift wrapped at no charge to me. All employees were courteous, will be back soon again!

I went dress shopping this weekend in Kansas City. Von Maur was the only store where employees were interested in helping. I was impressed with the level of service they provided across departments.i must have had 5 different people offer assistance while in the store. It reminded me of the level of service you use to find in Kansas Citys finer retailers. They had an amazing selection as well.

Im probably not a big a Von Maur customer as some but I do a fair amount of shopping in this store. I had purchased a Chiefs t-shirt for my son a few weeks ago. It developed holes in it. I took the shirt back to see if anything could be done. I was treated quite rudely by the young woman in childrens who helped me & she talked to me like I was trying to cheat her & the store some how. So back in last night we went with another piece of damaged merchandise. We were greeted again by this same young woman & an accusatory demeanor when I asked to exchange the coat. A word of advice if I may? Do not boast about your generous return policy if you are going to hassle & belittle folks who take you at your word. Ill think twice about coming in again & shopping with you. Where there is smoke there is fire.

This store is what I remember most department stores were in the 70. High class, great selections, fair prices. I have to drive over an hour to get to this store, but I go there to get my daughters special occasion dresses and her shoes. They have a great baby department as well.

Shopping here is always such a happy experience. From the products to the sales team, I love it. The guest experience is amazing. I bought a gift for my daughter here and they shipped it directly to her in LA for free! And they will gift wrap for no charge.

I felt so posh using the womens lounge to care for my new born. How nice to be able to finally shop and have somewhere clean and comfy to change and feed him. Thank you!!!

I Love Von Maur, it is a Very High Quality Store, it reminds me of the Department Stores I would go to when I was a child in the early 70s with my Aunt. It has good Clearance items as well. And the employees are very polite and treats you with excellent service.

Have had nothing but wonderful experiences every time I shop at Von Maur. Love the willingness of the staff to find products in other stores if my local store is out. Rave to everyone about the free gift wrapping. Cannot rave enough about this store. I also am extremely impressed by the sales. I have seen things such as Coach handbags in the $30 range. Like the reviewer stated earlier you can easily shop for sale items and walk away feeling like you really got a great deal.

Staff was awesome here. They are there to help when you need them but keep a good distance when your shopping around. When it comes time to buy all my stuff is nicely folded and put into a bag with tissue paper or they give you the hangers and put them in a nice hanging cloths bag. Everyone was super helpful and nice. So much so I dropped $300 bucks. Also be sure to check out there clearance racks in the middle of each section. They have some good deals

Every time Ive been there Ive managed to find great pieces on sale. Granted they have tons of nice clothes that are not on sale, and can get a little pricey, but if you just dig around a little you can come away some great pieces for your wardrobe at a great price.The employees have also always been very nice and very helpful every time I have been there.

I went to process a return today on a pair of pants that are still listed as current online. Originally, I purchased them for $36. Today, they are listed on sale for $26 online. Unfortunately, I was told they would only return them for $3 dollars with no receipt. I find it poor business to try to refund money or even issue a store credit for less than amount 90% of what was paid. Fortunately, we get to choose where we shop. I will defer from all purchases at Von Maur based on this attempt to pretend that they have merchandise mark down to 90%+ off when they don’t and use is as an opportunity to hose people who lost their receipt.

Id like to share my experience on Saturday in the perfume/cologne area. My 8 year old son is becoming interested in colognes. While he is not old enough yet to wear it (in our opinion) he still has fun smelling all of the testers. I wish I would have gotten the gentlemans name who helped us. He treated my little boy with such great respect and professionalism and kindness - he treated him like a person and sent him home with a bunch of samples. More than keeping me as a loyal customer - this man through his kindness and respect of my child left a footprint on his heart and mind - and most importantly set a standard for how one is supposed to be treated at all times in all situations. Thank you all so much.

Von Maur is my favorite place to shop. I became familiar with this store when we lived in central IL.Before we had a store in Overland Park I would drive to IA a d NE. The quality and price of product can not be beat!

This store is amazing and their clearance is hard to believe. I bought 12 presents for Christmas, spent less than $100 and they gift wrapped for free! They are always friendly and willing to help. I have a new addiction, this store. The girls even remember my name when I come in. I couldnt ask for anything better!

I love this place! Hit up the shoe room for clearance womens shoes, get a free coffee upstairs, and browse all the sale racks--you prob wont leave empty-handed. Its def upscale, but they dont make you feel out of place. Be sure and open a charge account--they dont charge interest and they will ship anything to you for FREE! Wed and Thur are markdown days--in store and online. I once got a pair of Hunter boots for $45. At least give this place a try. You wont regret it.

I had a great experience today with Morris in the mens department. I didnt have my receipt to return some items I bought that didnt work. He was very patient and took the time to look up each item by using my card to complete my return. Morris was such a huge help and very professional.

A visit to the ladies shoe department is always good. Favorite clerk is a young man named Chuck in the KC store.

Great selection of shoes, mens wear, ladies wear and junior wear. Also a great jewelry counter. Free gift wrap.
