It is delicious, better than Dairy Queen. You can park behind the chamber of commerce and take the path to the blast. Super cheap, larger portions. Plus they have the best slushy in town. They also have dairy free and gluten free options.

This place was special when I was a kid and 9 years later... It STILL is one the best things about Owatonna. I fully recommend to come by to get a taste. I personally enjoyed the raspberry frozen yogurt the best.

It’s hard not to give them 5 stars cause they have the best ice cream and shakes around. Construction there this summer really makes parking tough and the lines long but there is a reason for the lines. It’s amazing and a ton of ice cream for the money. They also have pup cups for your 4 legged friends that wait in line with you. My suggestion is to get a cup for your cone cause they are huge and melt fast or ask for your flurry in a bigger cup. For example I get a small cookie dough flurry in a medium cup. Way less mess!

Comfortable and picturesque places to eat outside in shade by the bike / jogging trail footbridge, and above with modern outdoor tables and seating, in a riverside environment! Almost impossible to beat!!

First time visiting. They lost our order- we waited 15 minutes before finally asking and had to reorder and wait again. The chocolate sundae I ordered was just a cup of vanilla soft serve with chocolate syrup on top. Definitely not what I was expecting.Very disappointed. Will be going to the scream instead from now on.

I love the atmosphere here. Everyone is very friendly, there are spots to sit outside, and the treats are delicious. Its definitely worth the money for the amount that you get. I always go with the medium pineapple Dole Whip. Its roughly $2.75 and its perfect every time. This little Mom and Pop Shop is a staple for this town.

Their icecream is great quality and their prices are fair. Parking is rough as theres only 4 or 5 spots along the road. Also i ordered a large icecream in a cup and i felt slightly ripped off because they pour it to be hollow, so it makes it appear like youre getting more. Also itd be better if they took orders in one window and gave icecream out the other, the ordering is a little off. Overall still a decent place!

Ice cream is phenomenal, service is awesome, and prices are super great! You can get a large cone for like 2 bucks! And when they say large, they mean HUGE. I recommended this to anyone who wants to have some awesome ice cream! You cant go wrong with the kitchen sink. Delicious ice cream almost any way you can imagine it. The portions are good size as well.

They have such a great variety of ice cream and the location is very convenient to main roads! parking can be challenging, but there is lot of residential areas to park around! Also, you can bring your dog and get a pup cup! Friendly staff and great ice cream :)

Been coming here since I was a kid. The prices are great and the ice cream is better. Awesome location being right next to the river and bike trail. It provides super easy access to people on bikes and walkers/runners. Street parking is available for cars and there is a gravel parking lot up the block. This is a great place to bring your family.

THE place to go for soft serve in Owatonna. I was visiting from out of town and loved the local vibe, right down to the lactose free pup cups for dogs! Giant servings at very reasonable prices. The business is right off a bike trail and theres a beautiful bridge over a river near the seating area. Go and enjoy!

The prices were great and you got a lot of ice cream with it. Also the soft sever was smoth and creamy. I highly recommend you go to blast.

Ice cream was just the kind I like (what I call ice milk consistency rather than cream). Flavor was excellent and our dog appreciated the pup cup, even though he had to have a couple refills out of daddys big cup. LOL We were in the area for a short time on vacation, but glad we made a point to stop for a treat.

Objectively speaking, its soft serve; you know what to expect. The flurries are really good, and the choices are amazing, but again, its basically a better, cheaper Dairy Queen. One thing that stands out is that when the incredibly detailed chalkboard says a cone costs $1.50, it includes tax, so a one dollar bill and two quarters works perfectly. The portions are also monstrous. Its amazing.The real reason that the Blast is so great, in my mind at least, is its location and its landmark status in Owatonna. Its right by a bike path that leads to a park and runs along a river, and its a place where people congregate. I cant go there without seeing somebody that I know, and theres something comforting about it.Some of that magic may be lost on non-Owatonna natives, but theres still the soft serve, and as I said, its really good.

One of the best local ice cream places around. The portions are huge and the prices cheap. This is a great place to take the family on the way back from the lake or just on a hot day. Wonderful riverside walking path right next door if you want to go for a nice walk afterwards. About 10 min walking from the library and very downtown accessable.

Blast has an extensive menu, friendly staff and wonderful location. We pulled off I-35 after driving all the way from TX that day and found it well worth the stop: close to both the interstate and a nature area, in a walkable part of town.

Ice cream is ready in about 1-5 minutes, depending on the crowd, but in so short of time, they make absolutely amazing ice cream. It is a #1 choice in my family and in many others.
