Called this place home for far too long and discovered my love for weightlifting. Great facilities, well kept with updated equipment. It’s just gotten crazier and crazier with each passing year though—go during off hours or be prepared to drag your workout for much longer than you expect. I think there are too many students and they should consider expanding somehow. Wish I got into rock climbing earlier—they have great bordering problems they occasionally switch up and I sadly didn’t use it at all until a month before my membership finished! So find what you love and be open to new things at this place.
This is a very well organized facility with an important variety of different exercise equipment. From yoga and group fitness rooms with beautiful window views to an extensive pool system including speed lanes, a diving well, and a leisure pool, this facility has everything you need. Occasionally the gym is too crowded, but if you avoid peak hours (which I believe google has posted) then you should be fine to go work out.
There is a lot to like about Miamis Rec Center. There is no shortage of ways go get exercise...swimming and wall climbing and racquetball and running and free weights and weight machines and classes and the list goes on an on. I have been going for years, and will continue going for as long as I can.The facilities are always clean, including exercise areas, locker rooms, showers...everything.One complaint...the weight machines, one by one, are breaking down. There does not seem to be any effort in place to fix them when they break. If those machines were as meticulously maintained as the rest of the Rec Center, then the place would be perfect.Oh...ok...one more thing. Towels. For a fee, you can rent towels. I like that system. But the towels are really way too small to be considered useful post-shower. So, even though I have paid for towels in advance, I now bring my own towel instead.
One of the best facilities Miami Offers
I always come here to work out. In not alwasy the biggest fan of coming here because it is always so crowded no matter what time of day. I prefer going to the smaller gyms around campus if you want to be able to use all of the weights, and machines without having to wait long, and go fast so other pet that are waiting can use whatever you are using.
Great place for all of our large swim meets, with good parking (that you may need to pay for). Sometimes seating can be limited. If people were polite enough to go in, watch their kids swim, and then go back into the hallway until their kids next event so that other people could watch their kids swim it would be great, but that kind of politeness is long gone
Great building with great equipment. Its greatest flaw is that there is no water bottle station. There is a water bottle filling station in almost every building on campus, but somehow not in the Rec.
Very clean and nice we always run and swim there when its bad weather outside. Staff is friendly and helpful. Most people are nice, occasionally rude people. Mostly a great place to workout!👍
Great place with outstanding equipment. On par with the rest of miami. (Bias as i am a miami student)
The staff was so welcoming and full of information. This was my first visit, but will definitely be back!
Always clean and well maintained. Wide assortment of fitness options. Friendly staff on hand, alert, ready, willing and able to assist. Silver Sneakers members get free use!
Nice place. Its not like a major university but pretty quality
Nice facility. Watching my grandson swim.
Great natatorium and facilities. Olympic pool and extra large scoreboard and video screen.
This place is amazing. Everything you need is included in this building. From swimming pool to basketball court, ping pong, gym, and so many other facilities .
Miami offers a state of the art gym. Its clean and fresh. The staff are helpful and motivating
Very nice and well kept inside. Only complaint is it seems the university is outgrowing the rec. Its usually very crowded and hard to find machines at night if youre there to lift.
Awesome facility, theres something for everyone here.
Nice facility. Convenient parking. Would be nicer if it had a concession stand area in natatorium.
Great equipment but no where near big enough for the size of the school. Go at obscure times...really.
Its only $6 per day if you dont have a membership. Its really worth it.
Has alot of good machines and good staff very crowded at peak hours tho.
Good facilities, good deals available for passes and clean.
Have one of the best training equipment and facility.
Good place to work out.
Very nice place but the pool was closed.
My son swam there for the YMCA championship. Large facility and its clean. Theres a store inside where you can get snacks and drinks.
Nice facility, small weight room for the size of the university
Great place for basketball
Winter break has started so it is pretty slow all the equipment was available
Good place.
Rude lifeguards, staff and too busy.
Great place to attend a swim meet
Great facility.
The place is so small, too crowded, sometimes, there is no enough air to breath, but it is better than nothing!
Free for students, working equipment, but not enough racks for the amount of people that use the weight room
Great indoor pool!
Really big
Great facilities
Great staff
Great place.
Nice aquatic center
Excellent!
Awesome
