What a lovely little bookstore! They don’t have a huge selection of books but what they have is the best-of-the-best. I was tempted by every book in the place and easily found some great vacation reading. My daughter and I visited every day during our stay in PG, enjoying the excellent beverages while relaxing at an outdoor table and reading. :)

Charming! It was a treat to stumble upon this place. We were impressed with the childrens book selections, and we enjoyed browsing for quite awhile. The latte and chocolate chip cookie were delicious :)

Loved this place. Super cheeky, relaxing, yet fun. The people here were super friendly and the place was really clean. The bookstore was bigger than what I expected, and they really support the locals here. Prices at the coffee shop was decent (similar to Starbucks prices) and they had some of interesting desserts and snacks on their menu. I will definitely be back.

If you are a fan of cozy bookstores that have a curated selection, this is the place to go. Plus, it includes coffee shop with delicious drinks and pastries.

Good selection of popular books for adults and kids. They also do a great job wrapping anything that’s a gift. After perusing the bookstore, I sat in the cafe and had an apple turnover and coffee, both of which were lovely.

Monterey peninsula is a go to destination for us and THE BOOK BOOKS is one of our favorites for just hanging in a retro bookstore setting with a cup of tea or jo and letting the world go by. It is peaceful, well appointed and comfy. The cafe has great pastries and beverages. It is a good place to let go and let the world pass by for a few minutes and delve back into real ink & paper rather than virtual insensitive.

Great coffee and pastries! I personally like the brew bar and the Tres Americas coffee. The cafe has a very comfortable atmosphere to chill and unwind with a great cup of coffee.

All is right in the world when you can sit inside with a cup of coffee and a book (or a laptop if you’ve gotta get work done). So happy Bookworks is operating indoors again. Definitely plan on being here to make up for all the lost time the pandemic stole.

This place was fun and cute. There’s a good variety of coffee drinks and flavors to choose from. The coffee was awesome and the bookstore was a cool touch. Drinks are not allowed in the bookstore so we had to leave them on a shelf.

Love this place. They do coffee the RIGHT way - Santa Cruz Roasting Company brew bar. Or anything else you might want in the way of coffees and teas. Plus theres a delightful little book shop in back! A great place to hang out when a virus is not raging. Furnished for comfort and charm. If you can find a spot! Its very popular, and with good reason.

Stopped for coffee. Nice coffee house atmosphere. Staff wearing masks. Not required for visitors if fully vaccinated. Pastries, drip coffee in decaf, medium and dark roast. Espressos and other fancy drinks available. Outside seating with tables and chairs. Bookstore next door (didnt visit this time).

We picked up a couple cups of coffee and were pleasantly surprised with how good it was. Great service and a cute little place to sit and have a conversation. The attached book shop had a great selection. Will be back when we are back in Pacific Grove!!

Great coffee, pastries, vibe, and staff. It is always busy, so dont expect to be in and out with a cup of coffee in a hurry, but if you have time to wait it is worth it.

Awesome cafe with tons of relaxed seating inside and out. The book store is on the smaller side, but packed with just what youre looking for. I loved the selection of local lore and history!

They have ample sitting room in- and outside. I had a latte that was delicious, along with an apple tart. That wasnt my favorite, but it was still cool and refreshing.

The Bookworks is one of my favorite places to stop when in Pacific Grove. For book lovers, coffee lovers, and best of all both! Great service in the cafe and shop. Great atmosphere and delicious treats/drinks. Highly recommend the honey lavender latte and the apricot pastry bar.

Well I liked the atmosphere and the food was good. But the staff are too nit picky about what you order. I get that starbucks has ruined coffee, but it’s not hard to be aware of what customers are expecting when they order - and not be so pretentious about it.

The coffee and food were decent. But the real reason I paid $12 (!) for a latte and a small pastry was because I wanted a place with wifi where I could sit down and get some work done. This doesnt seem like a lot to ask of a coffee shop in the year 2021. But this morning they were understaffed, and apparently the person missing was the one whos in charge of *updating the wifi password every day* (yes, this is a real thing) -- so about ten minutes into my work call the connection dropped and I had to take the rest of the call in the cold outside of the Museum of Natural History. (Pro tip: the museum has very high speed internet, and great range on the Forest Ave side!)Maybe the owners of The Bookworks want to talk to other cafe owners in the area and find out 1) how they keep staffing levels consistent and respond to last-minute call-outs, and 2) how they manage to provide reliable internet access to their guests without relying on a bizarre system in which someone is in charge of updating the wifi password every day.

Bookworks is the spot!Was visiting Pacific Grove for 3 days and I was so glad to find this place on the first day!Their cold brew is one of the best Ive had so far, and my girlfriend tried their lattes and loved them all.Plenty of seating available, free wifi and charging outlets If your working with your laptop!

I’ve been coming here for the past few years. I usually try to sit near the window. I always order coffee and some sort of pastry. Most of the time I bring my own book; but I have purchased several books from here as well. Sometimes on my days off I would stay for hours and read, go to the ocean, read again. ❤️ this place!

I’ll give 5 stars, but my feedback to the owner/manager is that the employees don’t seem very happy. They come off short to me. I also heard one of them talking in a demeaning way to another employee who seemed to still be learning the ropes.

Perfect pour over. The honey lavender latte was super delicious as well. Great service, they were pretty busy on a Sunday morning but still got it done with no hassle.

Adjacent coodee shop/book store. Browse after you enjoy your beverage. Great location in PG for walking about tje neighborhood. We came here after a day at the Great Tidepool beach trails. Very easy to drive I errands from the beach to this coffee shop.

I dont get why this place is rated as high as it is, because like the atmosphere is cool and the book store is kinda quirky, but like the coffee is just plain gross, like Id rather have Starbucks. The staff is very kind though.

Do yourself a favor & stop in for some fleshly baked treats. I had gluten free zucchini bread & my second choice would have been lemon pound cake. The atmosphere inside here was calming. We needed to hurry, get outside, so the next customers could come in. The line moves fast though. And, the owner/manager (?) is very friendly & helpful. Once COVID is under control, this would be a great place to linger.

A quaint little bookstore, with a fine Childrens Book section. Also, I never judge a bookstore by the following criteria, but they had at least 2 Tom Robbins books on the shelf... and THAT awards BONUS points to them!!!

Quaint little cafe with a few comfortable sofa chairs. I liked how they had a table reserved for computer-free guests. The cappuccinos were frothy and delicious. I would definitely come here regularly if I lived in the area.

This is a busy neighborhood café with an adjacent bookstore that serves good coffee, a wide variety of baked goods, quiche, and some packaged burritos that they heat up. I was traveling and needed to get some work done, and this place fit the bill. There were plenty of tables and some leather sofas indoors plus a line of outdoor tables along the sidewalk, some shaded by trees. The Wi-Fi signal was strong and the internet speed sufficiently fast. The service (you order at the counter and they call your name) was matter-of-fact.

We were pleasantly surprised by how wonderful this shop was! This place is very COVID cautious; enforcing social distancing and mask wearing. We appreciated that so much! I got an iced lavender honey latte and it was perfection. My husband got a cortado; the milk was frothed wonderfully and the espresso was so full. There are many pastry and food options as well! The woman who helped us at the counter was very friendly, answered any questions we had, and gave us recommendations. If we ever come back to this area, we will visit this cute shop again!

The first sip of my americano was good...after that, it was pretty watered down

They have absolutely no idea how to froth milk or do a proper cappuccino. A terrible lack of skills that was hard to look at. A pity, they would have the proper equipment.Don’t go there for coffee, it’s terrible.

Delicious coffee and oatmeal cookies.It was cold outside so my glasses fogged up in the actual bookstore. I was agitated my the face mask and foggy glasses so left very nice bookstore without a purchase. COVID-19 is killing businesses. I always buy books, cant see without my glasses on and couldnt keep them from fogging up because of mask.

The Bookworks is the last of the old time bookstores. If you cant find the book you want, they will order it for you. It is a comfy -cozy store surrounded by books, one can sit in one of the chairs and browse. I used to take my big dog in all the time, I dont know now. So many changes because of covid-19. On the far end of Lighthouse enjoy a coffee and a pastry attached to the bookstore
