The owner is a nice guy & loves to talk about comics. Call before you come here to make sure they are open. I have seen this place open very late sometimes. If I was looking for something that was not in stock the owner offered to order it for me. This place always seems to have good sales going on as well.

Extremely nice owner & excellent spot for graphic novels & trade paperbacks. Ideal for that & current issues. Nice assortment of figures & other collectibles. I came during a 45% off sale on books (hc/tpb) and other items. Saved myself a nice amount.

Amazing customer service. Helped my brother who is not well-versed in comics find my Christmas present and on a separate occasion spent 20 minutes on the phone with me checking all their secondary distributors to help me find an out-of-print book. No joy, but still: what effort! Give them your business.

Everyone that complain about the mess understand this man passion and knowledge his customer service is beyond any other retailer and that one on one experience you get with him it is beyond. The place has amazing deals, and a big variety of comics to select. The place doesnt have a sign but the selection of comics are amazing.

This place is the real deal and ran by a kind old man. Most people here are complaining about odd hours and such but its because they arent smart enough to understand the dude is old, working alone, and trying his best given those facts. This is the kind of place where you gotta dig and search for the books you want. Most people that complain are marvel movie snobs that care more about the modern aesthetic of a comic book shop over its actual content. The owner alone is worth the visit because the sheer knowledge he has. Ask him about one major character and he can tell you the different artists, writers, arcs, and so on off the top of his head and point you to some amazing recommendations. Want the real deal? Be patient and search the entire store for books and gems. The best books I found were hidden in boxes of older issues.

This place has odd hours and I went here to buy some packages of special Halloween comics to handout for the kids on Halloween. Why list your store as doing special events for the free comic Halloween Fest then have your store closed. A real Halloween Scrooge to the kids that had their parents drive them here for nothing.

My Local Shop! I love this place! I have been a loyal customer for over ten years. This is not a scam! He keeps VERY erratic hours. Tuesday he is SOLIDLY closed! He will NOT be OPEN before 1 pm on any day. More likely 3:00. Best day to visit is new comic Wednesday after three. Hey, call first to be sure! He has Literally TONS AND TONS of graphic Novels, statues action figures, etc. Many of which are out of print! His recent back issue stock has been depleted after a massive sale. Given the lack of demand, he has not restocked the back issues. Hes down to five or six boxes. Dave is nice and talkative. He is running the store by himself and also taking care of his retired parents; hence the weird hours. In the past his attempts to hire employees have ended in disaster. Hes doing this alone folks! Try to be understanding! This place is a TREASURE TROVE!

I like many other reviewers had difficulty finding what time to come here. After having finally been told when would be a good time to come in, I actually did get to meet the owner. He was very good, and completely knew what he was talking about. On top of that, the main reason why hed had so much difficulty with the store hours was because he had not known about how to suggest an edit. Having spoken to him directly, I helped to sort it out. I highly recommend this location for advice on comics and pricing if youre hoping for an informed informant. David is definitely a trustworthy and friendly guy, even if hes not able to do as much as hed like to do.

I think this place is really great. I am 21 years old and I just started going back to school. Took two years off because I was really unhappy. I went into the story trying to motivate myself to read more and it did just that. I went in and asked him Any comic books you could get me into. seeing that I havent read comics for a few years (The last few I read were dead pool, a space ghost comic and the umbrella academy.) He showed me to 1 of two things his dollar comic book section (which is perfect if you want to get a lot of comics for cheep), and his new issues section. He got me into a comic called The goon occasion of revenge part 1. Part two isnt out yet but, part 1 was amazing. I do admit the store is a little small but he has such cool stuff it doesnt matter. Also they are open really strange times and usually closed all day Monday. With that being said I highly recommend going here it is worth it. Ask him anything and he will be able to answer it. Sometimes he talks to much but I love that about him. He is a great guy. Usually has movies playing when you walk in!

I attempted to visit the store on 6/30/2017 at around 2:30 pm. The door was locked, but the lights were on. On the door was a hastily scrawled note that read: Back in 1 hour. This note did not indicate when that hour started.I usually try to support local card and game shops. I needed to buy some pokemon cards for my nephews birthday and this was the closest local shop. After waiting a minute or two, I just drove to a nearby Target and purchased the cards there. What a shame.

Such a helpful guy who works there! Also its a dying medium somehow? Like manga (anime comics) is doing better in the US than actual Comicbooks. Can you believe?! Even with all these superhero movie. Definitely definitely go there if you can. Theres also games and stuff available there. So yea.

I was looking for comic books for my 6 year old son. The owner was super helpful! This is an old school bookstore with stacks everywhere. Not a Barnes& Noble with a coffee shop. Get hot dogs next door. Can’t wait to take my kids back!

This is a really hidden comic store, which is a shame because they have so much. The owner is very helpful and nice. I always find comics I’m looking for here, the one downside is the organization is seriously lacking. But I go there for the comics not the organization.

New to area and wanted to check out this place out. Was concerned that they wouldnt be open after reading previous reviews. I noticed a posting on FB that they had new hrs and stated they Would be open. Yesterday I was driving past and decided to stop in. This was around 1pm. There was a sign on the door saying be back in an hr. Figured they were just getting lunch. I had nothing better to do so I waited and got some work done in my car. I waited over 2 hrs watching potential customers come and go but no shop clerk or whoever was supposed to be working ever showed up. This place wont see a dime from me, and too bad for them because I was gonna spend, well say, just a little bit of money.....

Ive stopped by this place multiple times and it is never open. One of the times I came, the sign even said open and the doors were still locked. It is a unicorn, it is here and all at the same time it doesnt exist for all intents and purposes because you can never get in! I was waiting here and Ive seen a group of people walk up trying to get in when Google said its suppose to be open, this guy is loosing crazy business. Im about convinced that the store front is just a ploy and everything inside is his personal collection. I really want to just check out what this guy has and give him some business to support a local comic shop, but there are no hours posted and you can seemingly never actually get in. This one really disappoints me because I hate to see businesses fail, but with this type of practice, thats exactly what is going to happen.

A Comic store Gem!

Ive been inside about 3 times. The inside is full of cool stuff.....unfortunately, ive been inside 3 times.....out of the 50 times ive stopped by to see if they are open. I dont know when this place is actually open but im so done coming here. Dude this place opens on a whim or randomly. Totally dont want to give a bad review and i dont ever really review anything, but i gotta say after sitting in front of this place once again at this very moment looking at the (Closed For Now) sign with the stupid Goon comic character on it,....dude😒.... Im done. How this place is still standing, or even relevant on Google, ill never know.

Dont go in here if your claustrophobic or OCD. That said, the MOST authentic comic book store I have been in as an adult. Bona-Fide nerd (and I mean that as high compliment) running the till. Contrary to clichés, most true nerds are actually pretty nice if you speak a little of the common tongue, and have a sense of humor. This guy did, and was entertaining a capacity crowd while eating his lunch, ringing the register, and answering question after question. All this and a smile on his face during free comic book day. This dude made my day. The shop was like a crazy collection of pop culture, nerd culture. LOTS of books jammed in a tiny space, random cool action figures spilling off the shelves. I could spend a long afternoon there exploring, chatting with the (owner I assume? He seemed to know everything about the place and negotiated on prices) guy at the register. Loved it.

If you have hours open you should stick them drove here from rockford just to have them not be open dont come to here for a special trip.

The few times Ive gone in were okay. They pick up some of the lesser comic books. The shop could use a redesign...

This shop has mostly recent issues still on the shelves and hundreds, if not thousands, of trade paperbacks stacked everywhere. There are very few back issues. With the stacks of trades, its very difficult to move throughout the shop.
