Earlier this week my heat went out. As I believed my furnace was warrantied as it clearly states on Allied sticker, I contacted them in the morning. Their only available time to come out was 5 pm that day. When the technician Steve arrived, I explained that the unit tripped the circuit breaker twice and that the inducer was making a noise. I then said to him that I had contacted them because of the fore mentioned warranty clearly on the furnace. Only after he had opened it and begun taking parts out did he then mention to me that that warranty would not be honored because I was not the original purchaser. I said that seemed to be a bit misleading, to which he said if I had an issue o could call the shop and they would tell me the same. And then he said something to the effect that well you need heat. After looking over the unit for a minute or two and taking out the inducer, which I had mentioned was making noise, he found that it did in fact arc in my unit. He then told me he would run out to the van and see if he had a spare part. As he did I found a replacement part online from supplyhouse.com for approximately $220. When Steve returned he said he had the part and that he might be able to safe a component of the original, which could save $70. (Mind you the entire assembly kit was $220 online). He then quoted me something in the realm of 500-600 for the part he did have as well as additional labor and installation. I understand the reality of marking up parts, but to the tune of 100% seems a bit much. At this point, about 15 minutes into his β€œdiagnosis” I said I would purchase myself because he seemed to not want to made any price changes. He then made a comment about how I could buy online, but how would I install it. I told him I was capable and that I wouldn’t have called if I knew they didn’t honor the warranty (Mind you the part was held on by three screws and had a quick connect). I then took out my check book and asked him what the damage was. He did not respond to that, (perhaps he didn’t hear) but I held the checkbook in hand. He then said he’d reattach the inducer, but left the switch off that mounts in front so that I could install the part when I got it. He put the unit back together and left wishing me well on the way out. I thought it was an ok interaction and that this company at-least did me a solid for not honoring their work warranty. Low and behold Two days later I received this bill in the mail. I don’t know if this is par for the course with this organization, as they seem to get good reviews, but I was not impressed by them this go around. Furthermore, if a part arcs in my unit that is only 5 years old seems like poor quality on both the part of the manufacturer and installer. The bill does not match the quality and level of service or lack there of.

A plastic button for the AC is broken. They told me that my 10 year old furnace/thermostat (infinity) is obsolete and no parts are available. Then proceeded to try and sell me a replacement (infinity) thermostat FOR $1000. OMG this is robbery and will never do business with them and will spread the word 😑

Im very happy with Allied, they had the best pricing between other companies like Shavitz and AA Service. $1000 - 2800 less installing the carrier line. Even though they were only a few hundred more than cheapest competitors they provided a 3 yr warranty on labor compared to the 1 year from others. I was deciding between companies that had no less than a 4 star rating on reviews so I was confident that installation would be done professionally. Patrick was my sales engineer and knowledgeable to answer my questions about comparable products.

After a bumpy start working with Allied in Palatine, Kevin in management was very professional and understanding to work with me. He quickly responded to my request. Today he had Octavio, service my AC and he was nothing short of a Rock Star. I cannot say enough about the attention to detail he performed to find the problem and replace parts. My water heater broke over the weekend and Im usually pretty handy so I attempted to fix it myself. After youtubing possible fixes for an hour. I ran a diagnostic myself and went to get the parts. Couldnt find them anywhere so I started to call heating and cooling places. Kyle was on call at first and walked me through how to get the proper parts and how to start the job. (Never solicited for work or compensation, just wanted to help) I wasnt able to get it working so went back to see what what couldve been the problem. After messing with the piping for awhile I started calling around again for professional help. Allied had the best prices and response time. Octavio the 2nd on call dispatcher I talked to was just as helpful in trying to help me trouble shoot over the phone. After missing the game and getting frustrated with the whole ordeal I decided to call Allied for an appointment. I specifically requested Kyle or Octavio and the latter came the next morning. He fixed everything good as new and even pointed out some possible hazards i wasnt aware of. I shouldve just called them to come by in the first place in retrospect. Needless to say, Im extremely happy with the service, the quality of people/technicians they have there at Allied are hard to find these days. Definitely will be calling them in the future. Steven called ahead of his scheduled visit and was very quick and professional, and followed very good distancing practices with a mask. He found the issue with my A/C unit within minutes and quickly had the faulty part replaced and my A/C back up and running. I researched in palatine facebook groups and Allied kept coming up as great service and fair price, and I will add my voice to that chorus. The team was here two days. They were to replace the heater, air conditioner and water heater. Weve been satisfied customers for perhaps ten years. My furnace is 15 years old; at no time did the technician try to sell me a new one. I cant say enough about Allied. These guys are the absolute definition of professional, especially Whittaker.I called Allied in the beginning of summer when I noticed my A/C was not blowing cold air. They were able to get me an appointment within 2 days and Whittaker was my tech. Long story short, after a very transparent, educational, and professional appointment we were able to get my A/C fixed within a week as it needed some very rare parts (all of which was explained in detail to me).I signed up for their maintenance package which includes a discount on their services and a seasonal checkup. Fast forward to Fall and I was given a pleasant courtesy call from Jamie to schedule the Fall check-up. Whittaker showed up a few days later to inspect my furnace. He spent an hour inspecting, cleaning, and repairing my furnace to get it ready for the winter - all services which were included in my maintenance package - he gave me some tips on humidifier maintenance and was on his way, all completely free as it was part of my maintenance package.Really comforting to know if I have any HVAC issues I dont have to worry at all. I highly recommend these guys.

My HOA required yearly cleaning and inspections on my HVAC system and Allied seemed like the perfect fit for the job. Tina and Jamie were very helpful over the phone. They helped answer my questions and were able to get me scheduled in a window that works best for my schedule. Chris L was sent out to my property. He was professional, knowledgeable, and polite. He was able to show me where safety issues were present and was able to get me in contact with someone who could give me replacement costs in the same day. Pat came out to do some estimates and was also professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Even around pets, the entire Allied team has displayed great care and professionalism.

I had a bad professional experience with Jason Webster, the commercial manager. My company needed to install a humidifier.Over phone Jason gave me an estimate for the total work including parts and labor in between of $600 to $1200, depending on the distance from the room to the nearby water line. The waterline is right next to the room, so we were excepting the price closer to $600. A couple of days later Jason sent the proposal totaling in $1,496.It took Jason a couple of days to answer. He said the price is high due to the price of the equipment. The price of the equipment was $360. So after multiple attempts to reach to Jason, I proposed to buy equipment by myself and asked for the quote of the labor. It took him more than a week to respond. He was not picking up the phone or answering my emails during that time.The final response was that they can do that, only labor will cost us $1250.Immediately, on 12/4/2017 I wrote an email to Jason asking to explain why the price is that high and why is it different from the first $600-1200 estimate range. He has never reached out to me ever since, ignored all of my emails.I will update the review if the company reaches back to me.

I appreciate that he gave me a heads up about a component that may need replacement in the near future, but he didnt push an immediate sale. Although another company in the area has a slightly lower rate for routine maintenance, I choose Allied for their service and greater scheduling flexibility.

I was charged over 160$ for replacing a wire and this fix was not a fix and actually dealt only with the symptoms and failed within couple of hours. I was told its not unusual for them to charge for repairs of symptoms until they find the real issue. Essentially their 85$ diagnosis fee doesnt mean that they will diagnose the problem - they may or may not in which case they will do repairs and charge for that until the real root cause is found.The explanation for the charge tried to make everything look bigger. So I was told 160$ is not just labor, it also the parts. Asked what parts and turned out the parts is actually the small wire but then because I sounded obviously surprised I was told its the wire with its connectors :) as if one can change a capacitor wire w/out the connectors ... not that the wire with its connectors costs more than few cents).After all this, they thought I would trust getting a quote to replace the AC unit from them so that they can refund some of the 160$ charges.

Although the service call was not completed due to leaks in the coil, hence a part failure that needs to be replaced. Not thrilled with the expenses forthcoming, but James was thorough, plus making preparations in aquiring the replacement part. So the important review will be on the next event of installing the replacement part and hopefully it will be a reliable one, in addition to completing the routine maintenance on the A/C unit. Thankfully the part was still under warranty, but the expense of labor and recharge of system will clearly have an impact for the consumer.I was able to schedule the part install before the hot weather was forthcoming. I received a heads up call before James arrived to perform the service. He took care of the install professionally in a timely manner. The work area was cleaned up and the remaining part of the routine service call was completed.But I have two concerns; 1) I was instructed by James that if I did not hear about the part ordered on Monday to place a call to get an update. I made a call Monday afternoon to find out that the part might still be on the truck. I requested that to let me know by leaving a message (since I work evenings) on my phone or call in the morning. Neither happened. I got a call Wednesday morning that the part was in and it was decided to have the install Thursday afternoon. 2) Now that the coil has been replaced, there is a warranty attached to it, but I have no details about it on my receipt or any kind of documentation regarding it. This is a serious concern of their business practice.Therefore, rating the service out in the field is next to excellent, but the two incidents / concerns mentioned above raises the eyebrow and means that the consumer needs to pursue answers which can be time consuming and unnecessary which can brings their rating to 3 star in my view. This is what took place for me, but dont know if this is common for other customers.

Furnace has worked with no issue since home was purchased in early 2015. Had a technician out to do regular winter maintenance on furnace and to install a new thermostat. Technician was supposed to arrive between 8-12 but didnt arrive until around two. Once here, he seemed to have a shaky understanding of how the older programmable thermostat worked. It was actually a fairly straightforward, albeit older, thermostat. I had some concerns from the get go, but technician finished with furnace maintenance and thermostat installation. Thermostat was purchased from Allied, but technician did not program it (didnt even set the time) and gave me a 30 second tutorial of it. After thermostat installation, furnace was now kicking on at 5-10 minute intervals, which it hadnt done before. Did call Allied about this the next day. Fast forward, three days after service, my furnace, which had previously had zero issues, stopped working (on a winter evening, of course). Called the 24-hour Allied service and had to pay a $100 fee to have an after hours technician out to fix problems that Im sure were the result of the Allied visit three days prior. Very frustrating experience, which also ended up being very expensive. Ive never taken the time to write a review before, and have used Allied with positive results before, but felt this was an experience that had to be shared.

On Sunday (of course) we heard a rattling noise from the heater. And of couse, It was below freeze outside. I called Allied and left a message. I received a call back in 10 min! Described the noise. Was assured that the unit will continue working through the night and that Monday morning I will get a phone call to schedule an appointment with a technician. And, so, Monday morning I got a phone call and was able to schedule an appointment around my lunch time; that was great - I would not need to take any time off my work. I live in a condo building and was recommended to bring in Allied for A/C maintenance. When the service guy came in he said he cleaned the condenser and water tray up, but today 2 1/2 months out i found out it was not cleaned properly since the pipe was clogged flowing the water.. As a result it caused water overflow damaging my hardwood floor and some portion of the drywall and panel that was near the condenser/ cooling unit. Called the business and they were not responsive at all. Rather than acknowledging their mistake and taking action the customer service guy conveyed message from manager saying if we send someone today we will have to charger you $100 or else we can come Monday. I would gladly pay the $100 if it was my mistake or I was asking for the urgent call, but it is their mistake that they didnt do a complete job. Also, didnt seem to care when I told them I will write a complaint/ bad review. TERRIBLE BUSINESS. I live in a condominium building so will make sure no one else uses them.

Just purchased a new furnace from Allied. Have used them for years to service my HVAC equipment and have been very satisfied with their work.Patrick (salesman) described all of the various furnaces and options very clearly and explained what advantages/benefits each of them would provide. After the installation I found his descriptions of what benefits I would enjoy to be accurate, and am extremely pleased with my new furnace.Jason did an excellent job installing the new furnace and controls. The existing furnace plenum had been butchered by various previous installers. Rather than just modify the existing plenum he completely replaced all of the sheet metal and re-piped the gas line, leaving a clean installation with no patches. Does the all new clean looking installation improve the furnace performance? Probably not, but it does reflect the pride Jason has in his work and the professionalism of Allied.After installation I noticed that the pilot light on my water heater was not lit and called Allied for service. Within an hour Whittaker arrived, lit the pilot light, and showed me how he did it in case it would go out again. He then asked me how I liked my new furnace and if I was comfortable with new remote access control for the furnace and A/C unit, and if I understood how to operate it and select the various options. He offered to demonstrate all the settings and explain how to access and use the various features. That proved to be great suggestion. I now have an understanding of all of the setting and how to change/adjust them. I connected the control to my wi-fi network and have the Carrier app for the control on my iPhone. I can monitor and/or adjust everything for my furnace & A/C remotely from my iPhone.In summary, Allied is the triple crown of the HVAC business. A salesman with good product knowledge, professional installation and prompt support from a highly qualified service technician.

I had a 20 year old furnce that that needed service and eventually replacement in the winter of 2008, They were here in 2 hours with a few possible solutions from service to replacement.
