PGA National! Home of the Honda Classic! Its a big name and almost every golfer knows the name globally. However, as one of the golf courses at PGA National, the Fazio golf course doesnt live up to the name. Its very disappointed to pay that much money on a very poor managed course. The layout is good, the green speed is fast and smooth. The overall condition of the Fazio course is just awful at PGA National. Its similar to a $25 - $30 public course. The amenities at the golf club do not give players resort experiences. There is no bottle water and towels. The so-called complimentary range only give you only 5 extreme small buckets of balls; perhaps less than 90 balls. We were planning to play all PGA National courses; now we will only play the Champions course afterwards. Its not worth the money!

Disappointing! We have been members for a year. Went Friday evening for a special Chef’s menu. The service was fine. Friendly and helpful in making our decisions. It was not busy at all. Maybe 20-25% full.We ordered Salads, prime rib salmon, salads and veggies. The food came promptly. The very best I can say is that if was “fair”. However, it was cold. The spinach was cold as were veggies and bread and potatoes. I told the server and asked her to tell the chef. Chef did not come out nor did Manager. They did give a discount and free piece of pie.The sad part is that in addition to a hefty initiation fee and several thousand dollars a year for annual dues, we deserve better. I would expect better food from a steak buffet restaurant. I am very disappointed. I expect more from a membership club at this level.Mike Bernstein

I was unhappy with my stay. I was given a room next to the first floor elevators and could not sleep with all the noise from people talking by my door. Also, my bathtub had a very slow drain. It is hard to believe that the hotel was unaware of this. Also, the breakfast was a terrible value. It cost $40 for coffee, eggs bacon and a waffle at Bar 91. And they ran out of coffee, and I could not get a full cup of coffee. I gave up waiting after 10 minutes. Although I had a 2-night reservation, I ended up staying somewhere else my second night so I could be more comfortable, have a better nights rest, have a functioning bathtub, and have my morning coffee.

First time at the resort and unfortunately will be our last. We understood the renovations going on, but the service was absolutely horrendous. To start at check in, we were directed to a room that someone had just checked out of, that was not cleaned. Unfortunately many of the staff members were confused about times of things opening, and we received conflicting feedback from staff. The hotel bar closed at 9, but the paper said 10. Tried to call the front desk to be directed to the spa and couldn’t get through over 8 times. Very frustrating to enjoy your time when everything is misplaced throughout the resort. The manager did not offer any discount upon check out or anything to make it right.

This place is a joke. Way over priced. Septic gasses in the bathroom. 17.00 hamburgers. Place is under construction and they dont tell you when you make reservations. Reserved a suite supposedly over to the pool that is what I was told and all I have is a palm tree that looks out to the back of another building. Complained to the front desk and the MOD. They just dont seem to care. Unfortunately this is a busy time of year down here and there are no other rooms available anywhere otherwise Id be out of here.

I stayed here last weekend to pre-game for my birthday for the 4th year in a row and they just about ruined the momentum - I left and went to Jupiter Beach Resort; I have no intention to spend my money at PGA National Resort and Spa ever again. Not sure whats happened over the past 5 years but the service at this resort has taken a complete nose dive. The carpet in my suite was wet, the trashcan in the living area smelled of urine, there were handprints on the shower glass (like Jack and Rose, Titanic style), 2/3 of the elevators were out of service with no warning, room service disabled with no warning, and I was racially profiled at the pool. As a CEO of a local financial services institution, Ill be sure to share my persistent experience amongst my network of clients, chamber members, and business partners that travel into the area.

We booked our original reservation from 1/2/21 to 1/11/21 through the hotel website. We did not use a third party. We decided to check out early (1/7/21) due to the hotel being under major renovations and all but one restaurant being open. Did seem reasonable to pay $438 a night for this product. Front hotel staff, who were very pleasant, said we would not be penalized for checking out early. We received a charge to our credit card including the 4 nights we did not stay at the hotel. I have left 2 messages for the accounting department and one for the hotel manager to correct their mistake and as of today have not received a return call. My next step is to dispute the charge.

This HOTEL (doesn’t deserve a title of resort) is currently a low budget hotel. I am sure it was great at one point, and maybe it will be great again but if you are planning to stay over the next few months; I’d reconsider. I was aware they are under renovations and would be limited on some restaurants but they never explained they were running with no staff. Not one restaurant open except a hot dog type cafe for golfers. No valet, no room service, no housekeeping for your room unless you ask for a specific service in advance, no comforters or blankets for beds (just two thin sheets), no poolside service for drinks or food. If you use the spa and want to enjoy their spa pools for the day, you’ll need to pack a cooler because the only food and drinks you can get are in the golf cafe (bar91) which takes about 10min to walk to, wait for your food and 10 min to walk back which is on the complete opposite of resort: you’ll have to walk in a swimsuit through the hotel. They advertise mineral pools and relaxing pools at the spa however the chairs are all broken or in terrible condition and the pools seem dirty. I highly recommend just using the normal pool at the main hotel. The main pool is requiring reservations of 3 hour blocks. Seems silly they are still playing this crazy strict covid policy when no other resorts are and its outside but i arrived at my 3:30pm reservation for the pool and couldn’t get a pool chair because they aren’t even enforcing reservations. No one was asked to leave from the previous reservation block. It was a nightmare, and then ran out of pool towels. Due to all restaurants being closed, you’ll need to leave the resort to get dinner but don’t expect to grab a quick drink after in their lobby bar that is advertised open until 11pm, they close that by 9pm if the bartender says it’s slow. I called a week before Valentine’s Day to ask if they could provide a bottle of champagne in my room as a surprise for the wife and they said no due to, room service closed, they couldn’t even think of a way to accommodate a simple request. This “resort” is not currently a resort, it’s a low budget hotel. I would consider somewhere else to stay until they get their services back. It has a lot of potential but sadly even being open right now is ruining a lot of people’s first time impressions. Stay closed until you can afford to be open the right way.

We were extremely excited to stay here since the resort has such a prestigious reputations. Boy, were we in for a big surprise. We knew that the hotel was undergoing renovation and already had low expectations. But for a high end resort that is pretty costly per night, this resort is cutting major costs and the customers are sacrificing their experience for their “Covid precautions”. A few things to note: they don’t provide comforters on the beds (sheets are used to make the bed), they don’t provide room service or cleaning services, they have a skeleton crew working despite being overbooked with no rooms available, and they only have one restaurant open. It’s a major disappointment and we will definitely not be returning back. We definitely feel like we were staying at a subpar inn and had a more comfortable experience at the Marriott down the street.

The staff has always been excellent, which leads me to suspect that their instruction and fitting services are also good. Driving range is better than most. However, the courses and amenities are below expectations for the area, especially considering the premium you are paying for the honor of playing a tour event course. The Champions course generally seems to be in acceptable shape. But each time I have played their other courses, there have been multiple greens in rough shape. There appears to be more drainage issues than I typically see around here, but the fairways and tee boxes are otherwise fine. Score cards and hole markers do not include aerial maps of the holes. Functional in-cart GPS is also hit and miss. So grab/buy? a yardage book in the proshop or find an app with the layout as there are many blind hazards and unique layouts. No drink cart to be found during my last round and sometimes you will only get one shot at the cart, so when you can get drinks, load up and expect to pay slightly less than double what you would pay elsewhere. Bottom line, if you must, play Champions for the experience, maybe another to get you to question why you did, but know there are likely better golf experiences out there for much less.

I rarely ever write bad reviews, but our stay here was a complete disaster and I feel compelled to do so.We spent our New Years here, expecting to have a very memorable experience, and instead it was just outright terrible. To begin with, the front desk staff were extremely rude and unfriendly, as they did not even welcome us! They just stood there as we stood there, not saying anything, and then they gave us attitude when we had questions about the resort. My fiancé asked if they had fireworks for New Years (which they previously said they did) and the response was “no, we have new management.” When we tried to get our car from valet which they pulled, no one was there for at least ten minutes, but our key was just sitting on their desk, we just took the keys from the valet desk and left. Considering it’s NYE they should have scheduled more staff. Also, it was too easy to take our keys and just drive off.The spa treatment my fiancé had was supposed to be an hour and a half, and they only gave her an hour, plus she said the they messed up her service from what she had ordered to begin with!So I figured at least the golf course would be great since it’s the renowned PGA National resort, but after playing the Fazio course, all I can say is wow...torn up fairways and greens, and the course felt like a cow pasture. The cart girl was non-existent, and they play was slow as molasses. As an avid golfer and one who’s been to several golf resorts in the past, this was just a joke, especially for what they charged to play it!We are just in total shock, as this is supposed to be a high end hotel and resort, but it felt like we were staying at a Ramada Inn instead. We will never return here.

Overall it was a very frustrating experience at this resort. I love the facility but the club fitting process had a lot to be desired and fell very short of my expectations. The club fitter, Brian first off, was 15 minutes late arriving at the club fitting trailer. OK, no big deal. We went through the fitting process and thankfully, I have enough experience doing this to have narrowed my interest to start with. If you want a full blown, launch monitoring, ball spin type fitting, (particularly useful when getting fit for a driver for instance) this is not the place. So we finish the fitting and Brian asks if he can send me the specs and the price to order them later that day due to other fittings he needed to get to. I agree. Next day, still no specs or price, next day, emails, texts and voice mails, still nothing. 3rd day, I little stronger email and text, so he finally responds, Sorry Im on vacation, I totally forgot, I will be back Monday 4 days from then, Monday comes, I call, text and email again, and he finally responds, I wont be back in the office until Tuesday Tuesday at 11AM sends me the specs and what turns out to be a full retail quote. Opinion; If you get a fitting there, get what you need before you leave, tipping does not help, it didnt help me, and then go purchase from your favorite retailer or pro who may not be a fitter but at least will take care of you. Customer service is not this facilities or at least the club fitters strength.

Nonetheless, the property is well maintained and the staff were anxious to please. Very nice. Of course there were little things that needed attention, like the convertible bed had no sheets. But a call to the front desk (even though it was after midnight) was promptly addressed. It is a huge property and must be a major undertaking to keep up. Nonetheless, these magnificent grounds are pristine and lovely. One regret is that we did not play croquet...they have a classical croquet set up which was very old school. Unfortunately, time didnt permit our indulging. We had a small suite which accomodating my wife, two children and myself and the price was quite reasonable. It is not a five-star property, and the main draw must be the golf.
