My parakeet suffered a severe injury ending up with a broken wing and open wound. I was thinking we would have to put him down. They took care of the bird for 4 days, and I believe treated him appropriately so as to ensure he had no infection and was medicated and bandaged properly. They even let me come in afterwards at no charge to re-splint the wing. Dr. A is an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable practitioner and is well versed in her trade. I believe she cared for my bird as a doctor and as an animal lover. I got to see her interact with many other pets during my two office visits there, and she definitely gives 100 percent to each animal. She is very passionate. She took the time to show me how to dispense medication at home and how to cage him during his convalescence. My criticism is that Dr. A is in very high demand being an exotic vet. It is a little difficult to get through to the staff. You have to be persistent. She did give me her cell number, which helped a lot. Also, the wait time in the office is long. It also was costly and I didnt know ultimately how much it was going to be because she was treating in the moment but considering her niche, it was worth it, and she successfully treated my bird back to being healthy, which is why I brought him there in the first place.Ultimately, I would definitely return to Dr. A again, and I am grateful for all the work she and her staff did on my bird.
If youre looking for a vet that you can rely on this is it. Dr. April has helped us out when our animals have gotten sick and because we consulted her she took our animals in before it was too late now they are doing amazingly. Her prices are great and the services are even better. I will 100% recommend her to anyone and will be going back for anything and everything animal related.
Awful experience, this vet is off the wall and is so overpriced for unnecessary treatments . I just read a review on Yelp that is pretty much the exact same as the experience that I had with this vet, also reviews with the same exact parts of the experience here. The worst experience I have EVER had with a veterinarian. I wish I had never brought my step daughters animal to this place as I feel so completely ripped off, confused and disgusted. I also feel the animal was put through more than any normal, logical vet would put an animal in this state through, and it wouldn’t stop, she wanted to keep going. She performs additional services without a quote without permission and does not disclose the costs! What kind of business operates that way? I am in business and that is terrible business practice. I have had many animals, I have had many vet bills and experiences and I know they are costly however I have never felt so taken advantage of in all of my years. I do not even feel that this animal will live for another week, she is in bad shape and this vet wanted to run every test and give every medication known to man when I just wanted the animal to be comfortable and possibly put to sleep humanely. I so wish I would have checked the reviews prior to taking our animal here. By the way I have never left a bad review for a business in my entire life, I don’t believe in doing that, however I could not possibly not leave a review after this experience. What a terrible experience, I literally feel sick after it all. This woman is a nightmare a true nightmare.
I hope anyone who loves their pet reads my experience. People in the business of birds know this vet well and suggests you check otheralternatives like the Rainforest Clinic in Loxahatchee FL. Unfortunately I did not know that at the time and in an emergency took my small bird to her. She wanted to keep the bird overnight and said it needed to stay andshe put it on oxygen, said it was doing better, then it passed awaysuddenly. Told me the bill would be $1500 for the cost of keeping thebird on oxygen for 3 days but then stated she was able to talk thesupplier down to $1000!! I was disgusted. Prior to that I had takena parrot in for a routine check up and the was very rude and incensitiveto me as i naturally expressed concern when she held it to drawblood. This Vet will not have your animals best interest at hand, does not obviously keep you informed of what she is doing and how much is will cost in the end and takes advantage of people financiallyand emotionally.
My Quaker had injury to his lower beak and tongue, brought him in to Dr April and staff in critical condition. She was upfront in telling me his prognosis. Told me the steps she was taking to save him..I was a nervous wreck...she filled me in on every step of her treatment plan,, telling me honestly how his chances were.....voila, 4 days later have him home, following instructions 100%... improving and happier....know with our pets, there never is total guarantee of being able to help.. I can say it all worked out....will definitely use and recommend for any future crisis that arise..
My husband and I took our 10 month old bunny to see Dr. April. The whole team was great and really helped us understand my bunnies needs. He is a handicapped bunny with splay and Dr. April gave us all the information we need to make sure we are give him his best life. We will definitely be back.
Dr. April is amazing! 🤩 I first met her when she treated a duck that my mother rescued from the side of the road! She took great care of little Daphne and even found her a rescue center to recover at! I reached out to her during an internship to Costa Rica. Even miles away, she helped me over the phone with the best way to go about treating a Sabia that had a broken femur. She was honest about a proximal fracture being difficult to fix; however, she gave us hope with alternative ways to make the Sabia as comfortable as possible. She responded immediately and even followed up to check on the Sabia! I am grateful for her help and expertise! Such a great clinic! 😊
There is honestly no words for how amazing theses guys are!! They did their very best for my baby boy he was in such great hands
Extremely attentive to detail and thorough in diagnosing and treating my hybrid conure after my other conure passed away suddenly. Dr. April has brought me great comfort and care in making sure our remaining bird has the best care possible. My only complaint is the appointments take a LONG time, so pack some snacks and clear your schedule. But in return, youll get great service that doesnt cut corners.
I had an appointment set for 4 but there was an emergency at the clinic and I had to wait until 630pm to be seen. I did not mind the wait and when Dr. April finally came in, she was able to spend time with me and my sick bird. She did not rush me through and was able to diagnose my bird and teach me how to administer medications. She took her time to explain everything and answer all my questions as a new bird owner. Was it a long wait? Yes. Was it expensive? Yes. But I know that my bird received her full attention and the best care.
Dr. April came highly recommended. She was very thorough checking all the systems with my bearded dragon. Making sure I had everything I needed to get her feeling better. Apparently I was advised differently the last year n half and Dr. April and her caring staff made sure we got Hazel on the right track. I would completely give her 5 star if it wasn’t for waiting 3 hours in her office. She’s so devoted she’s available to her patients 24/7...amazing. Which should definitely be 5 star. Thanks so much!
Dont go anywhere else if you have an exotic, even if it means driving 2 hours. Dr. April is a superb professional with an amazing educational background, holding both a Ph. D. and DVM from leading universities. It is obvious from spending a lot of time in her clinic with my daughters injured bunny that this veterinary practice is devoted to love and care of the animals. Staff is excellent, and Dr. April is generous with her time, including mentoring many young people interested in veterinary medicine. We were very fortunate to have found this clinic--things would have turned out much differently had we not.
I brought my pet rat to this vet and was greeted by the kindest vet tech. I was told I would be see about 20 minutes after my appointment time and was seen over 2 hours later with no one telling me when the vet would be in. Every vet Ive been to (I have 10 pets, Ive been to a lot of vets) has given me an estimate before I would decide what I wanted to be done to my pet but this vet charged me for oxygen and multiple injections I never agreed my pet to have! I was told she would receive two injections and one fecal test and got charged for oxygen, FIVE injections, fluids, and medication I was to take home. The vet was unprofessional and rips people off. Once I politely brought up my concerns, she was rude about it and called me names in front of me to her vet tech!
Dr. April by far is the best vet I’ve ever encountered! I’m a mom of a 12 year old rabbit that appeared to be over all healthy for his older age. About a month ago, I noticed his left eye was watery. I took him to a vet who prescribed eye drops, no improvement. A week and a half later, I took him to another vet who prescribed syringe antibiotics with out any improvement as well. Two weeks go by and I called Dr. April on a Sunday morning because he took the turn for the worst. She took him under her wing right away! Dr April and her team made him strong enough for surgery, and saved his life. She cared for him until she felt most comfortable to come home. 6 days later. She is extremely honest! She kept me in the loop multiple times daily! She did what most vets would not! I highly recommend Dr. April for your rabbit or whatever exotic you might have. Lisa and Elliot are her amazing team members! If you have a rabbit, PLEASE! Monitor their teeth! Make sure they are eating a healthy diet! As they get older, make sure they are getting their teeth checked! It’s extremely important! My rabbit was in discomfort for some time before he showed signs. My boy is on the road to recovery, but wouldn’t wish this upon any other rabbit or their owners.
Let me just start off by saying home amazing they are. I brought my five-year-old cockatoo in for a spill in the dirt and he inhaled the dirt and He had to have surgery for this. A very dangerous surgery as I understand. Everybody took their time to explain everything to me to make me feel comfortable as well as Elvis my cockatoo. Days of worry and not knowing how he would recover. The staff took their time and got him back to normal. I think God for them. They had my precious babies life in their hands and you could tell that they cared. The compassion from every staff member was amazing. It’s something to leave your loved ones in the hands of somebody else but in this case I feel comfortable. Not just an office trying to get money, and office genuinely wanting to help the animals. I really couldn’t have asked to find a better vet. If there was an option for 10 stars they would get 11.
I am appalled by the service and the way I was treated by this veterinarian. Dr. April Romagnano may have all the degrees she needs to operate a vet clinic but has no customer service nor any empathy towards bird owners who call with problems about their hurt babies. I was so shocked to be answered with such a rude and unprofessional demeanor. She acted as if my call and my concerns for my bird’s problems and safety were an inconvenience to her life as a VETERINARIAN. She’s supposed to help owners and their birds but instead she caused me more trauma and turmoil than I already had. I am ashamed and will NEVER bring my bird to this women because who knows what she may treat my bird with. I am just so ashamed, disappointed and regretful that I even called this woman. Good luck to anyone who chooses this clinic.
Helped my bunny, Charlie when he was on the brink of death-2 months later he is happy and healthy !Also a great place for trimming nails and hair !
One of the worst vet experiences of my life. Never again will I ever come here
Dr April saved my lovebird. On a Friday morning my lovebird, Kiwi, was lethargic, not eating, and irritable. I immediately called Dr. April’s office and took Kiwi to the office in the afternoon. Dr. April examined Kiwi and began treatment. Four days later Kiwi was ready to return home. Two weeks after her return she is the energetic, playful and happy bird that I have always known. But for Dr. April’s professional emergency intervention and treatment I am not sure Kiwi would be well. Thank you Dr. April and thank you Lisa for taking great care of Kiwi and bringing her back to health.
Do not trust this vet. Paid hundreds of dollars to get a worm test for our pet, was told we would be contacted the following day with results.. Has been 2 weeks now with no response. Have called the office 3 times, being assured by the receptionist that the vet is just busy and will get back to us. Now they wont answer our calls at all.During the visit the vet was very unprofessional and could not answer a single question without googling the question in front of us. The only option we have left is to report them as a fraudulent company to try and get our money back and go elsewhere.Additionally, we were told to be at the office for a 2pm appointment. Vet did not stroll into the building until well after 3, and did not get us in until after 4. The vet also did not wear proper safety equipment at any point during the exam despite the pandemic that is currently affecting the country.I am sickened that someone who is supposed to care for and treat animals would let one suffer with worms for that long because they cannot take a minute of their day to call us, especially considering the high rate she charges for her services. I highly advise against seeing this vet for any reason.
Amazing staff and care! I was desperate and they were there!
Elliott and Dr. Romagnano truly left a lasting impression on me. From receiving a timely appointment to the care my little Seldon received I was truly grateful. Thank you for being here.
Dr. April saved my rabbit Scruffles! Thank you Dr. April for your fast action and diagnosis. Scruffles is back to her Frisky and sweet self!
Loved the quick speed. Only issue is the lack of communication but they do great work when you do
Was here because our Leopard Gecko burned his tail on a heated rock (NEVER USE HEATED ROCKS). The vet and staff were all very experienced and helpful. They took great care of miso the gecko. Recommend them for any exotic pet, bird, lizard, etc. There was even a pig there.
The Vet is absolutely wonderful! She made sure to keep in contact with us and give our duck the best care she possibly could! The staff is also extremely welcoming, kind and caring. They truly love all animals! I would recommend this place to anyone with an exotic pet!
Very Helpful! Friendly, cared for our Guinea Pig with love and with great care. Recommend anyone with an exotic animal or common to come here. Definitely coming here every time in need! 💯 They know what their doing for sure!
These people know what they’re doing. They make sure to give all the right information for our exotic pets! They helped my sweet guinea pig feel better. I’d take your pets here! I’m so glad I have a new favorite exotic vets office!
Some of the bad reviews on here are so true. Dr April is rude condescending to her employees and very greedy...she over charges and looks for reasons to charge for services not required I found a great Avian and Exotic Veterinarian at Harmony Animal hospital in Jupiter they are excellent very caring and reasonably priced
Had an issue with my snake and theyre only exotic vet in the area that treats them. I called in and was seen the same day, they had every test and base was covered. Would definitely recommend for your exotic animal needs!
Long wait times, impolite, and inconsiderate other people’s time:We made an appointment with Avian & Exotic Clinic for my son’s crested gecko who had been acting hyper all of a sudden - my review is based on how long this clinic made us wait and how impolite and inconsiderate the doctor was.Our appointment was for 3:30pm on Friday and we arrived a little early, but the doctor did not come into our room or even acknowledge us until 5pm.How in the world can you keep clients waiting 1.5 hrs without even saying a word to let then know your running late or at least something. She said nothing to us for 1.5 hrs. Then when she came into the room she didn’t even apologize for making us wait so long.If I would have known we would be there all night I would have brought my kids snacks etc- i thought we’d be there 2 hours tops- but no- we were there for 4 hours. We left around 7:30pm.With regards to being impolite- so the first thing was not acknowledging us in the room for 1.5 hours the 2nd being she didn’t apologize for keeping us waiting for 1.5hrs and the 3rd is she ordered her staff around without a please or a thank you. I believe everyone should be treated with respect and not to ever place themselves above other people. But this was not the case in this office- ordering people around and again not being kind about it.Then when we were explaining what was going on with my sons gecko we had to explain the story multiple times to her bc she kept misunderstanding what we were saying to her, which was quiet exhausting bc we had explained it perfectly each time. She did run a ton of tests on the gecko but we really didn’t get a definitive answer of what was wrong. But in the end - she was knowledgeable in her work- but just not polite and respectful of others people’s time or respectful to her staff.
We recently obtained a young recently weened conure. It is a joy! But a great responsibility. Dr April has had me weigh the little bird every morning since we brought it home. Newly weened birds are in danger of starving if the owner is not careful. These are fragile creatures and when things go bad, they tend to go fast! So daily monitoring of weighs are critical! We feed it Nutri-Berries and Avian cakes. Also apples, grapes, carrots, almonds. These have the nutrients they require. Dr. April prescribed the diet and has responded to every weight. She has been marvelous in her support. So if you have a new baby, daily weights are a must! Cheap electronic kitchen scales are the right tool for the job. Good luck and god bless Dr. April!
Dr. Romagnano is a warm and wonderful human. Her love for animals extends beyond her patients to the owners. We are so grateful for her compassion and expertise. The staff is patient, sympathetic, and helpful. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs special care.Dr. April continues to provide excellent care for her patients. I highly recommend this clinic for the helpful staff and compassionate care.
First visit. Our iguana was not acting normally so took her in for a checkup. The doctor and staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. Appreciated the extra info I was given so that we could take even better care of her.
Dr. April and her team are exotic animal heros. They have cared for our Macaw since he came home. Emergencies and routine visits both are professional, educational and thorough. We greatly appreciate having them as our vet.
Dr. April and staff have exceeded all expectations. Very knowledgeable, caring and thorough. Brought them my very sick chameleon and was taken care of right away. Received a follow up call before my arrival and was greeted immediately. Do not hesitate to bring your pets in when need be. You will not be disappointed. Thank you guys for the amazing care and keep up the good work.
Dr April is amazing! Her love for animals is genuine. She went above and beyond for our male veiled Chameleon. I am extremely grateful! Her staff was amazing as well. I recommend their services completely! You won’t be disappointed
Dr April and her staff has taken great care of my bunnies over the years. She is a very dedicated veterinarian.
I highly recommend this vet, they were able to make room for me for my pet snake because of an eye problem that she had, and everyone in the clinic was so caring and kind and helpful. Dr. April was very caring and knowledgeable about the problem my pet was having, and she made sure to be thorough with the examination and treatment. I am extremely happy with this vet. 😊
I have just recently become a mom to a newly weaned, sweet heart baby bird. I was very nervous about caring for such a little one. Dr. April Romangnano took all the apprehension out of this process. Dr. April educated me on the most important thing that can be done for a baby bird is to monitor its weight every morning. This process gives a accurate picture of the birds health to Dr. April. Every morning weight was texted to Dr. April who reviewed it and monitored the status of my precious baby bird. Dr. April helped guide a healthy diet with the use of Nurti-Berries, fruits, veggies (including daily broccoli, carrots, and almonds) and shared foods, which include fruits and veggies that the family is eating. Overall, I am thrilled with the care and concern Dr. April has given us to insure a happy healthy newly weaned baby bird.
Dr. April is knowledgeable and the office will take care of your animal thoroughly. My only complaint is when you say come in between 2-3 and dont even acknowledge someone arrived until nearly 4, that is not good...but she was busy helping a bird. Also the prices are...hefty. I guess thats what being the only exotic animal vet within an hour to two hour drive will get you. The staff was nice and very friendly, though, and my ferret feels better, so thats what matters!
I went to Dr. April Romagnano for a second opinion for a very sick bearded dragon that Ive had for almost 7 years. Very thankful she was able to see him and do a surgery and change him to a different calcium supplement, and some supplemental food. She is very thorough and knowledgeable. My dragon is doing better every day.
I would not bring a sugar glider to this vet. I knew our chronically sick, emaciated and injured glider needed to be put to sleep. My son and I talked about this hard decision, but the Vet talked my adult son into an overnight stay with a 1k bill for a glider. Not good care. Only to put her to sleep a few days later for more fees. If I had not been at work, I would have been there for the initial visit to our glider to rest peaceful. This is an uncompassionate vets office. Dont be fooled.
This was the best vet that I have ever been to. They help me so much and I learned so many new things about my guinea pigs, blue tongue skink, and hedgehog they help me so much and I learned that guinea pigs need vitamin C to survive and they get it from these gummy’s that you can give them and they also help me Taught me everything that they were doing it was amazing best that ever!
Used Dr. April as an emergency/second opinion for my ferret, but from now she will be my go to! She was very accommodating for us on a short notice and communicated with us even after hours. She is empathetic, professional, and caught on to issues that another vet missed the previous day when my pet was seen at another office. Very thankful for her
Not only does this facility take amazing care of exotic animals, but coming here was like visiting an educational center.April Romagnano and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and love to educate people about exotic pets. They taught me so much about my red foot tortoise Jimbo.I learned that if a red foot tortoise gets trapped upside down or on its side for a prolonged period of time, they need to be seen by a an exotic animal expert.Even if a tortoise seems fine after such an experience - they could have incurred muscle damage which causes their CPK to rise which then must be flushed out of their blood by their kidneys. That can cause kidney damage. This process is called rhabdomyolysis. Not providing care when they get stuck could result in sudden death.
Dr. April is very knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful. She researched every avenue of my gerbils sickness. I’m glad I brought her in.
Everyone here is absolutely amazing. I found out recently my hedgehog mushy had cancer. They did everything they could to try to give her as much time as they could. Unfortunately that time was only a month but They were very compassion when it came time for the decision to put her down. you can tell they really truly love the animals they work with. I cannot recommend this place high enough
They’re reliable people who helped save my cockatiel. Such professional and friendly people.
These guys were fantastic taking care of my Milo! I got personal texts and phone calls everyday about the status of my rabbit! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for him!!
Had a Sunday morning emergency with our ball python. Dr April took the cell call even though we are a new customer. We were at the clinic about two hours later, her and her assistant took great care of our emergency. They have followed up with us several times to check on status. Our snake continues to improve.
They are helping us get our Chinese Water Dragon back up and running. Highly recommend.
They are very knowledgable on every species they dont stop working to take care of every animal they see.
Dr April is so helpful she cares for your animal our ferret comet needed emergency surgery. She helped us out with making payments because he needed two surgeries. Her and her staff were helpful & knowledgeable about ferrets. They helped save his life, literally. Thank you Dr April & staff.
Avian is not by far the first place I would choose. Although I had to for an emergency in which my emergency did not get taken care of until a while after I arrived. When the vet had finally taken in my animal she figured up everything she wanted to do as far and tests and such went and she wanted to charge me $600+ for the whole bill and that’s upfront and out right. The vet seemed very unprofessional and slightly on the rude side which is not great for her business. I was, overall, not pleased with the experience.
Dr. April and her staff have been very helpful with our exotic pets. We brought our rats in for diagnostic testing and Dr. April was extremely thorough and I believe because of her expertise, one of our rats lives was extended. Her staff which includes Irina and Carina are both very cheerful and always helpful. We have also brought our bunny and gerbil to her with positive results. I recommend this clinic highly.
They saved my opossums life with an emergency surgery that she desperately needed. I HIGHLY recommend the amazing Dr April and all of her staff. Thank you all so much, I cannot thank you enough!
Dr. April is amazingly helpful with rabbits. When mine started seizing in the middle of the night she immediately called me back and explained all the things that could be going on and calmed me down. Im so glad to have such a great exotic animal vet in my area.
Had an emergency on Sunday pm & received an outstanding service. Thank you Dr April & staff for helping our Potbelly Pig Peppa
Dr. April is amazing will all animals, she cares for them as her own. 3 years ago she saved my love bird from near death due to an infection and to this day she is heeled up perfectly and foing great. Today she is fixing my Amazon that has a throat/crop infection. Staff is amazing and happily invite you into the clinic. I recommend this clinic for all exotics.
Great establishment. Staff is amazing and very high quality service. My bird was pretty bad with an infection and Dr. April took care of her with the highest of standards.
Dr. April did a fantastic job of caring for my guinea pig. Clearly passionate and knowledgeable Dr. April also was able to give a crash course in husbandry for my pet. The education was worth its weight in gold for future problem prevention.
When Linkovich jumper out of my arms and broke his leg Doctor April took great care of him. We had to amputate his leg to save him, but he is a happy healthy bunny!! The staff are friendly and courteous. I LOVE this place!
I can not emphazize enough, if you care for your exotic pet, this is where you want to go. I was devasted when I was no longer able to take my exotics to the zoo veterinarian. I was so afraid that I would never find someone as compationate and knowledgeable. That was until I found Lisa and Dr. April! I promise you are going love this place!!
Me and my husband took our pet duck there 1 week ago cause she was having seizures every few minutes. We dropped the duck off and the woman at the front desk said that Dr April will call later on when she gets done looking at her. We called at 5pm and was put on hold for 45 minutes and finally we hung up. About a hour later we called back and Dr. April had answer the phone and said that she would call us back later that night cause she was going to be in surgery. About 9pm she called and said that she was fine and wanted to do blood work which was $195. My husband and I gave her permission to do blood work. The next day we went there to pick up our duck. We got there and was presented with over a $900 bill. We were both in shocked and wanted to know why it was so much. We found out that she was running test that we did not agree to and that we were paying for oxygen and no one said that we were going to be paying for. We were there for well over a hour fighting about the bill lets just say the we walked out paying $505.10 bill for our duck she probably just glanced at.
Very respectful place.i recommend any one to visit.im a happpy customer.thanks alot
She is amazing! Second emergency with a bunny that I’ve had treated here and they made a full recovery. The hyperbaric treatments helped so much!
Dr April and staff were very thorough in not only examining our sick little hedgehog but also showing us how to treat him at home. She even took the time to show us ways to trim his nails easier and improve his diet overall as well. She showed us the microscope slide with the bacteria that was causing the digestive issues in our little guy and explained what was happening. She examined him from tip of nose to tail, explaining each step along the way. They gave him meds and supplements in the office that had him starting to feeling better by the time we left.My only complaint was having an appointment scheduled for 2 and not even being taken back to be seen until almost 3 when dear hubby took time off from work to attend visit with me. However, I will admit that once we were brought back to the examination room, we were given plenty of time and not rushed out so i realize it’s a balancing act.I am grateful my hedgie is on the mend and would not hesitate to take him back again.
I was able to bring in my cockatiel in right away after an flying accident. Dr. April discovered that he was ill and placed him on medication right away. Overall I am very pleased with the level of care and attention with just wished there was a little more communication and updates.
Never will I take any of my animals to this clinic again!! Never followed through with what was agreed upon upfront. I was allowed to get my bird from the cage while Dr. April was doing a autopsy on someones beloved pet right in the same area. Not cool:(
Dr. April is very thorough, and takes time with her patients. I trust her with all my animals!
I recommend this vet, my hedgehog was taken great care of. They are also very informative about how to better care for your pet.
Very helpful and informative. Answered any questions I had and worked with my financial budget. The employees were very respectful of our loss. They even sent a vet tech to wait for us on an off day. I fully appreciated the service I received.
It was reassuring this clinic was available for treating avian emergencies. Also very kind to help me out with financials as a student and giving the care my bird needed. This clinic was a big help in diagnosing what was wrong and guiding me where to go next with my baby birds treatments.
Took us on short notice for an emergency, very helpful & straight forward. The staff was kind & attentive.10/10 would recommend.
Dr. April has done a wonderful job of saving my parrots life after a hack surgery from another vet who left exposed bone in his leg and did not properly debride the wound. She is very thorough, but juggles a lot of patients. A long wait is not out of the norm. Love the staff though!
Dr. April and her staff are great to work with! Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly! I highly recommend this veterinary clinic for all your avian and exotic animals!
Amazing place... Great bed side manner makes ypu feel real comfortable.
Took great care of our bunny and kept us informed throughout her stay and she’s perfect now!
The staff was extremely helpful, informative, and friendly! I truly learned quite a bit and would recommend this clinic to anyone dealing with exotics💟
I was referred to this vet, the woman who recommended I go did warn me that this vet is known to be crazy. Within five minutes of actually being seen by the vet, I heard her talk down to the staff. I could tell by the way she reacted to being yelled at, that it was a common thing for her. This vet is a C U Next Tuesday! I cannot believe how long you have to wait to be seen, even if you have a scheduled appointment. I waited for 2 hours, then I told the person behind the front desk that I would just go since me nor my bird (nor our appointment) were a priority to the vet. The staff made a call, I assume to the vet, and told me that I would be seen very shortly. So I waited. For another hour and a half. The wait time for this vet clinic is ridiculous, the vet seems like she knows what she is talking about but being knowledgeable is not a good enough reason to have to wait for 3+ hours. Also the prices are outrageous, a checkup for my dog is $100 give or take, it’s over $500 for my bird. The vet takes personal calls while seeing patients, only God knows how long she made my bird wait for its blood-draw, since she was clearly on the phone yelling at who ever was on the line. She needs to be more professional and not accept calls while working. And for someone who is always on their phone, you would expect to get bloodwork results as well as other results a hell of a lot faster than a month after your visit. The staff clearly told me how long each result would take and that I should expect to have them all within the next five business days. I even called two weeks after my appointment, the employee told me the results were in but only the doctor could speak to me regarding the results for each test. Eventually, the vet did call me, and only gave me about two minutes of her time, mind you I paid this woman and her “business” over $500. When will she treat her clients as people and not just a check? This lady has NO people skills. I am disappointed in this experience. I called around in search of a new vet for my bird and will be switching from Dr.Satan to a vet who cares about me as a client and my bird as a patient.
It has been a long stressful being of a new yr to top it off my sons bearded dragon. Became very ill, in a rush to locate a vet we were blessed to find Dr.April and staff.they help got mys sons lizard back on the right track.they treat you like your family, they are a great group of people .
Vet is great, very thorough knowledgeable and caring. Be prepared if you are coming a distance to wait an extended amount of time however. All in all pleased.
There was no other vet near me that took in birds and then I found Avian & Exotic Clinic and they took us in urgently. Great staff & very professional. I recommend to anyone who hasn’t been here yet.
I had an emergency with my guinea pig and I have been helped right away. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The doctor was with another patient and when finished came to check on my fire baby. Am so appreciative of the help.
The Dr and staff go out of their way to help you and explain everything.
Very knowledgeable. Great emergency care for our little Love bird. 🙏🏼 Thank you.
I have been using Dr April for 13 years. She has treated my parrots in sickness and in health. Over many years of parrot ownership I have read about many bird illnesses which go undetected until its too late. Dr April tests for those diseases and treats them when necessary. Our former vet up in N.J. did the same. She is quite skilled and professional in the manner that my precious birds are treated. I trust them in her care. She is always accessible and follows up with calls to monitor their progress. I have recommended her services to others in the past and continue to do so.
They helped save my pet birds multiple times and Im grateful for that. They are very knowledgeable and work well with pets.
Dr. April was great with my pet squirrel Squiggy would highly recommend her.
Great care and customer service was able to get a good summary of what my bearded dragon needed and was able to go from There with flexible payment options
Dr April and staff are wonderful. I want the best for my birds and this is the place to go.
This was THE ONLY VET!!!! who would see my Bearded Dragon After hours and offer me any help. My boy was so sick and bloated and black and I was extremely upset and needed help fast. Dr. April and her staff got me in fast and yes it was expensive but it was an Emergency, much cheaper then the dog ERs Ive been to. They did a wonderful job of educating me on Dracos care and at home needs. They insisted we do a poop sample, which Im glad they did because he had worms from eating crickets. I had No idea he could get so sick from Super Worms, he was blocked and couldnt pass anything out. Dr. April and her Staff were AMAZING!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR SAVING DRACOS LIFE!!!
Dr. April and her meticulous staff saved my bunny’s life. I am grateful for finding her.
