You can tell that he does his job thoroughly and passionately! The store itself was great, they had everything I was looking for and each employee I came across was very polite and made me feel welcomed. I highly recommend this shop for any firearm purchase they made it fun and easy, not to mention they have very fair pricing!

I bought 2 safes, 3-4 handguns and 2 rifles from them from about 2000-2010. Generally dealt with Jack, who was always helpful. Only issue was being lowballed on trades, so I ended up trading at Coles, and got somewhat better deals on purchases from those trades when the Big Guy was running it. That said, Take aim is the most professionally run gun shop in the area, with a great selection. They also have the best knowledge on safes, and I have used their services to move my safes to new homes twice, most recently in 2019.

I went in and worked with Brad on a new handgun. He was excellent to work with and everything went great. Top notch service and the prices were also great. I will definitely be back to buy more.

A good friend of mine raves about how good this store is and after visiting it several times and purchasing a few items I am not sure I share the feeling and don’t think I will give them another shot. As a very active sports shooter I go though thousands of rounds of ammunition a month, and I prefer buying local over the random lowest online seller. I came in today to purchase match level 308 ammo and was told I could only buy a single box. Last I looked this wasn’t California nor is there a line out the door trying to buy $49 a box of 20 match ammo

Ive been a customer on and off a few years now. Friendly service but beware of pricing.Do your research. I made the mistake of trusting a fair price yesterday, I dont expect internet pricing and dont mind a little extra to support my local gun shop, but $150 over the average internet price (for a shotgun under $500) is excessive in my opinion. I understand their distributors could be causing some of this, so im not saying its a bad place, just do your research before buying from them. Its a lesson I wontt soon forget.

I called about a Liberty Safe. I was told they had the one I was looking for on sale for memorial day at $999 if I could get there that day or the next. I asked a couple times if they were sure cause I have been on Libertys website and never saw this deal. I assumed they had a hook up to be able to get this safe for that price. I drove 19 miles from my house to the store right after getting off the phone with them to order the safe that same day.When I got to the store they told me they made a mistake and the safe is actually $1399, a $400 difference. I asked if there was anything they could do on the price since i just drove 35 minutes to the store for the deal with they made a mistake on. Their offer to make it right was to give me the safe for $1329, mind you on top of the safe, there is a $250 delivery fee, and $200 worth of accessories that would have come with the original safe but not in the safe I have to order now. SO they offer me a $70 price cut to make it right. I am coming out of pocket an additional $600 dollars cause of their mistake and they best they could do it give me $70 off, that is a slap in the face. I will be going to another dealer and pay full price if I have too. I will never go to them again.

Disappointing carrier class. Watching a 35 year old video, (could have watched u.tube and not paid $75)only 1 handout that had been poorly photocopied. Brad seemed irritated when asked questions and then told when we didn’t ask ? “ Hope we r ready for 75? At end”) rush evening:total 2.40 w.15 min. break for 3 hr class. Would think more hands on with actual pistols/revolvers etc. Content needed!!Juvenile class execution - asked to go around room read from handout.

New to the area, stopped in at this store they ordered me a slug barrel for my shotgun, it came in just at the time they said it would. The staff was very helpful in picking out some great slugs. Bought a handgun through them and they were fantastic to deal with. I would highly recommend this store for all of your shooting equipment.

If you tired of running around trying to find a gun that is not in stock or price to high, here is the place, I personally saw so many guns, was in store about one hour or more, looking asking questions, watching other customers come in and out buying guns, I did not wanted to go anywhere else to buy my gun, so they got my purchase there. Went in after a friend recommended a while back.been really happy with this store .Anything from large purchase to ffl transfer.I like the magpul selection. and the big puppy dog that roams around, also found some nice m&p ear protection as well today for a good price.Would recommend!

Worst customer service ive ever experienced shoping for a firearm. Wasnt greeted upon entering the shop, finally tried to ask some questions and their reply was like i was wasteing their time and the last thing they wanted was to anwser my questions and was wasteing there time so i decided to bring my buisness elseware, i hope everyone else does the same.Ive come back to edit my review because ive since then been back to the store with a very different experience with different employees and i would like to say everyone except one employee was very nice and helpfull. Your one employee with long redish hair i believe was the one i would never deal with again and almost caused me to never shop at your store again. Besides the one employee you have a great store with a good veriety and selection so i give 4 stars i would give 5 if i didnt deal with the one guy with longer redish hair, i hope he can learn how to communicate with customers without being so rude and coming across like he is to good to have to anwser my questions or im wasteing his time.

Sad that someone would give them a 2 star, just bought my M&P shield two days ago and going in to pick it up tomorrow and I got to say, I am glad I went here. I was going to get a SW .38 special and Matt answered all my questions and even helped me make a more informed decision about what it was I wanted to accomplish with my concealed carry and they let me check out several other options and I fell in love with the shield so I went with that instead. They were not out to make a sale, but to make sure I had the best option for what I was looking to accomplish. I even came here back in 2008 to purchase my first firearm and when something at home happened and I had to return it, they didnt give me a hard time and although I had to pay a restock fee it wasnt bad and they treated me nicely. This is my go to gun shop now that I moved back into the area.

Hugh selection on everything you want from customer the smallest little things to the largest firearm safes you could imagine. If youre looking for ammo even those hard to find sizes they will have. The customer service on the phone in person via email is outstanding, professionalism with that best friend feeling. And the best of all is family owned not a corporation thats why they are the best around. I have bought and traded many guns here, as well as purchased a lot of accessories and ammo. Their prices are not always the best, their inventory (pre-COVID), was decent most times. What sets this place apart from all other gun stores in the area IMHO is the employees. These guys are not typical gun store guys with a ‘you’re wasting my time’ attitude. They are genuinely nice guys that really take the time to help their customers. I have been there several times during COVID and have seen them assisting obvious first time gun buyers who can’t find the trigger. They offer the same help that they do to their regulars. Of all of the gun stores in this area, this is the best- hands down. Now I wish they would just open a range and put Reload down the street out of business.

All in all..... these folks are RUDE. I took my 70 year old father in to look around as we were both in the market for firearms. We admittedly dont know everything there is to know about guns, and they sure made us feel dumb for that. Im much more likely to buy something from someone who can make me feel comfortable with my purchase. These guys just want to sell guns. Service/customer education is not their specialty.... at all. We both left feeling the same way, so its not something imagined at all.If you are a gun know it all.... this might be the place for you. If you arent fully knowledgeable/comfortable with the subject of guns, stay away. They have no interest in putting up with any questions you might have. My father and I left feeling discouraged and honestly a little demeaned.We both bought guns..... elsewhere. If I ever walk into this place again, its because theres a new business in there.....

From then up to the present day the entire staff has always been knowledgeable, courteous, professional, and attentive to all my needs and inquiries. First off the customer service I have received since day one at Take Aim is Second to None & I have been going to Take Aim in Palm Harbor for years now which is not just around the corner from me. They have a great selection to choose from and they also have recently expanded so now the store is twice as big as before plus the online store they have is very helpful as well. I just bought my 12th gun from them, and the experience has been exceptional every time. Jack (the manager) and his entire staff, especially Mike, are extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and very patient while you browse and evaluate. There is absolutely no pressure to buy, and the prices are extremely competitive. The selection is extremely impressive, and if they dont have it they will get it for you. I dont even bother going to any other gun shops anymore.

We thought that Shoot Straight is the best gun shop around, but boy were we wrong. Everything from the prices to selections made Take Aim our favorite place to go. Its been a year now and weve bought safes from (Liberty, incredible quality) to M&P 15s and everything in between.They are so professional and will spend as much time as you need to help you figure out what you want. No other place around lets you hold rifles and ACTUALLY SEE the prices without getting hassled by a salesman like Take Aim. Some complain that their selection isnt huge but if you ask one of the fellows behind the desk they will surely order it in for you within a week at a lower price than any of their competitors!We refuse to go anywhere else, we shop local and save money while doing so.Forgot to add Jack is the greatest!

This company stole my $400 on a hold I had on a pistol. After calling and cancelling the hold a year and half ago, I was limited to my travels and could not get back for a year due to work and family. They denied me my refund after calling them back and visiting Florida this week.I will be filing a lawsuit and getting my money back. No company should be able to take your money and keep it without providing a product. This is simple Theft on their behalf. Not a problem.

Take aim is such a nice place. The only way to really improve that store is with beer, food, and tables.. Its the kind of store where you couldnt care less whether youre next in line, theres so much cool stuff to look at.

Awesome experiance every time i have been in the store. I got a killer deal transferring guns out of NY. I took my CC class there 2 weeks ago. Brad taught a great class. Very knowledgeable. I went in this week for an issue with my Mosquito and ended up trading it in and purchasing a Mark IV and an M&P Shield. I wish i remembered the guys name behind the counter. Extreamly helpful, not pushy. Answered every question i had (there were a LOT, hahaha) and answered questions i didnt know i had. I will 100% be going back for all my shooting needs. I used to by tons of guns there but then my wife said no more (yes I was an addict).....oh well.....so glad to hear things are well. I was afraid that big shooting range up the street would hurt business but it appears bigger is for sure not always better. Besides what they want to join the range is just plain stupid. I remember Joe and his lovely daughter were always very nice to me. Also there was a young man with a pony tail who was also especially nice. Brad was able to match the price. The employee literally asked me is that it as he turned away to talk to the other employee. Called a few days later to inquire about information on the safe I purchased from this store. Again, employee was RUDE. Told me to call the manufacturer and hung up.
