I reeeallly wanted to like this place. I love nothing more than spending time in a locally owned coffee shop and I adore little bakeries. And this place is a quick easy bike ride away. But it just wasn’t good :(I LOVE bagels and it’s been so long since I’ve had one!! I ordered the French toast bagel with the seasonal pumpkin spice cream cheese and a small regular coffee. The bagel itself was small, hard and burned on the outside. It’s possible that the burn happened when they were toasting it? The bagel tasted vaguely like onion. Maybe but had been sitting on top of onion bagels at some point or picked up that flavor in the toaster? Other than that, it didn’t really have a flavor of its own, which was disappointing. Just mildly sweet with burn onion taste. Pretty gross.Other than that it was a dry bagel without that great doughy chew or classic bagel skin it’s supposed to have. Not good. More like boring hard dry bread. And, this is a small thing, but also annoying - the cream cheese wasn’t spread on bagel. Most of it was coming out the hole - as in the cream cheese was just plopped in the middle and then sandwiched down. If you’re a bagel shop, spread the cream cheese with a little care… actually spread it on the bagel. The coffee also wasn’t good. It was overly strong and kinda sour. Like it had been sitting in that carafe dispenser for a while…All in all my disappointing bagel with cream cheese and small coffee was $8…!And the vibe in this place wasn’t very welcoming either. It looks cute in the photos, but inside it doesn’t feel great. Not a place you want to sit and spend much time.I’m disappointed because if this had been a good bagel and a nice experience, I probably would have been there every day.

Slow team but great bagels, some of the best I’ve had this far from New York. Sells out by noon with popular flavors gone well before (last everything bagel went at 9:55am when I was there). This would be five stars except for the high acid coffee and the super slow kitchen. Not sure which step in the process is so slow but they are probably 3-5x slower to slice, toast, and spread cream cheese on a bagel then any other place I’ve been too.Parking lot and free street parking. Accessible but crowded. Restroom (all genders).

My experience at Townie Bagels was awesome since I just went in to get a regular bagel with cream cheese but then I saw all the options and everything looked so good and this place is just so delicious like I ended up getting the bagel with strawberry cream cheese and it was the best. I would definitely visit this place again for any kind of bagels or even the cinnamon rolls looked good but this place overall exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend to anyone.

The owner was very pleasant, at the same time, the waiters and the waitress that served me when I went into their shop. They wear a smile to the customers that they entertained. Besides, the foods and the coffee that they served taste good. Even the place of the shop was truly captivating. It was clean, comfortable, and beautiful to look at. Honestly, if you visit this shop, you would not regret it, for it was wonderful and affordable. Ill be back!

We’ve gone multiple times to this local bagel shop and it’s delicious, but customer service is everything. One of the guys at the register was very rude this last time we went 5/22/2. We couldn’t see the names of the treats they had on display and proceeded to talk about my grandmother and I to a coworker in front of us. We will not be returning.

My first visit to Townie Bagel this morning was not what I would call a success.Although I tried several times to explain to he young woman who was talking my order that I only wanted 4 bagels to go I wound up with fourbagels, three with cream cheese and one with cream cheese and lox. I stated clearly three times I only want four bagels. One onion, one veggie, one plain and one loaded. No cream cheese, no lox. The young woman apparently had other plans for my order. A disappointing and frustrating experience.I found the product to be fine but, the poor communication and customer service was less then I expected.

The bagels are sooo good! The bagels are soft but have the thin crust on the outside that give you that soft crunch--the way bagels are supposed to taste. This is my first time at this establishment as I was getting my car serviced across the street I thought I would have a bagel which I ordered and when I asked the gentleman for a knife to spread the cream cheese on my bagel he threw it at me and walked away and the bagel was probably one of the worst bagels Ive ever had I ordered sourdough it tasted old and there was no sourdough at all in it so the combination of the quality of the bagel and the complete lack of customer service I love to give this place a zero but unfortunately theres only one star dont waste your time or your money they have no clue what customer service is here a little bit goes a long way and theyve obviously never learned it

Awesome little breakfast spot. I got a fairly standard breakfast sandwich on a freshly made bagel and it was divine. My wifes breakfast and her tea were also great. They have a lovely lawn right outside where you can eat if it is a nice day (plenty of those in Palm Springs). Only one star off because it was a bit pricey for a breakfast sandwich at a counter-serve spot. But well worth stopping in for a treat, particularly if you love well-made breakfast.

Top notch and authentic bagels always made with pride and love. The team here is friendly, skilled and efficient - even when there are a lot of customers (which frequently there are). They offer a great range of flavors but its recommended that you come in before 10am to get a full range of choices. There are tasty hot and cold coffee and tea options. There is comfortable seating inside as well as a couple of tables outside in the shade of the northern end of the building. Its not unusual to share a table with strangers which creates a wonderful opportunity to make new friends in this very community oriented bakery. 🐻👍

This is my hang. This is my office. “I can meet you at Townie Bagels at 11 AM any day but Tuesday—when they’re closed—or Thursday.” The bagels, of course, are the best you’ll find this side of the Hudson River, and the coffee is excellent, from a local roaster. If you decide to make Townie Bagels your hang or your office, please don’t sit on the sofa with a view of Sunny Dunes because that’s where I sit.

Ran into some friends who eat there regularly. Who knew?Had a bagel with cream cheese and coffee, and my partner had a egg, ham and cheese sandwich. All was excellent. The place was especially busy because of the fundraiser, which the owner was honored to be a part of. First I want to say I love the bagels and every chance I can go I do. This is however the third time I felt like asking for my bagel toasted was an issue again. Previously I have asked for my bagel toasted but they don’t toast to a light golden color. I was told on my last visit to ask for double toasted. I figured that would make sense to run it through twice. Today I ask for double toasted what I got looked like charcoal on the inside and deceiving on the outside. I did not dare say anything because the attitude would have been the same as when I was told to ask for a double toasted bagel. I wanted to know what was going through this persons mind when they thought a burnt black bagel is acceptable. I think they must have laughed when they served that burnt bagel. I tried so hard to eat that lox bagel but I could not. What a disappointment for a much anticipated visit.

Delicious bagels! Nice atmosphere! Friendly, fast service. We came here close to 7am and one of my bagels was naturally warm from the oven. Updated...my earlier review follows but reduced to one star owing to attitude of staff. Had a gift card that wasnt honored owing to their changing their system. Was told it would take a few weeks to fix. 3 visits and two months later, I told the staffer that they had to honor the card owing to state law. He mocked me and went to get the owner. The owner pulled out a printed list that had all the older cards on it--he proceeded to honor my card after he found it on the list. I wonder how many other peoples cards are being dishonored (the list was multiple columns and pages in length). I told the owner about being ridiculed by the staffer and he just ignored my comments. I havent been back since.Original review: Would get 5 but priced a bit on the high side. Bagels are authentic and delicious. Size is on the small side. Its obvious a lot of work goes into the making of their product. Many varieties offered and always fresh. Place is immaculately clean and service is prompt. Worth a trip...and another...
