Very impressed with their craftsmanship. Gary and Merac produced a radar arch for me and I got to see a few of the other projects they were working on. They do great work for fair pricing and they are good people to work with.

I asked for a bid on a project that was roughly 30k worth of work quoted from a second shop. I didnt intend to get a second quote but after reminding the 3 weeks in a row that I needed a quote and getting zero response I decided to go elsewhere to have my work done. Then I needed to purchase a snow plow which ended up being a similar deal with no return communication finally after much prompting my plow was ordered and installed. They did a decent job on the install but my plow never came with shoes and I asked them to get me some shoes asap. Now 1 and a half weeks later I still have not heard back from them. They seem to do fine work if you can get them to actually do the work, otherwise there communication is not good. Would not recommend them if you need something done promptly.

I got float pods on my 1652 G3 and they did an awesome job. Great to work with and very good at communication. They were about a week behind from the initial completion date they gave me, but it’s understandable seeing as that they were incredibly busy. I’ll be using them for any welding jobs I may need done in the future!

Friendly staff and awesome quality work. Called to get some spindles machined down in diameter to fit an airplane ski dolly and they got em in the next morning. Picked them up that afternoon and they fit like a glove. Excellent work and very accommodating. I’ll be back for sure, highly recommend!!

This is, hands down, the best welding business in Alaska. Their quality of work, customer service and pricing set them a part from all others. Gary, the owner, is, as I learned from personal experience, a man of integrity with a commitment to customer service. Greatland Welding is the gold standard for how a company should operate.

Superior service and excellent knowledge. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They offer great rates on boat repair and have some of the best pricing on aluminum welding in the Matsu valley.

I brought in a jet unit off of a Yamaha 40 outboard to see if the impeller or sleeve needed replaced. The man working the counter was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions, he obviously knew his business. This is the second time I have done business with Greatland and I have been treated well both times. All my jet unit business will be with Greatland in the future.

These guys are amazing! We just drove our RV up from Florida when we noticed a serious issue with our bumper which holds our spare tires. We happened to drive by Greatland and thought wed give them a try. Wow! Extremely friendly, talented, fair and professionall. Our job required inginuity as it was not run-of-the-mill. Marik, an extremely talented aluminum welder, did a beautiful job and had us back on the road in just a few hours. Gary, the owner, made sure we were taken care of and squeezed us in despite the fact that they were very busy. As tourists traveling through town, we could have easily been ripped off. These guys took great care of us, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing welding or machine work when in the Palmer or Anchorage area. THANKS Greatland!!!

Need metal fabrication, repairs or plow help? Gary Feaster has amassed an effective team in his large machine shop and these guys know their stuff. Gary is the only Western and Fisher plow technician at Greatland Welding and he honestly, skillfully, and fairly diagnoses, reports to you and repairs. Haven’t seen better welding anywhere I’ve tried in the Valley or Anchorage. And his prices are better!I was given a plow truck after mine threw a rod. An insufficient plow mount weld broke - plow fell off the truck; Gary rewelded it properly. Next, another insufficient weld broke - plow fell off again and mount bent. Gary’s weld held but metal around it tore, exposing a couple of stress cracks. Gary’s best welder fixed that weld and the stress cracks. He discovered two manufacturer’s struts were never installed. I asked Gary to fix all stress fractures and add the struts if he thought it was to my financial advantage. He said fixing it is well worth it, rather than buy a new plow. His welder straightened the mount, added the struts, and fixed all stress cracks. The plow is strong now and is a thing of beauty; I’ll repaint it!During this, the plow pump stopped due to ice. I tore it down and replaced some rubber items and Gary showed me how to eliminate the ice that clogged the pump. Nobody I know takes this kind of time with customers and I saw him do it every time as I waited. I highly recommend Greatland welding for your plow, boat, or any other metals you need fabricated or fixed.Gary lives his faith!Tom BraundFrontier Productions, I understand your frustration. I too dislike being put off when scheduled. Ive been around the Greatland shop many times. Is it possible you arent familiar with how technical mechanical businesses get it done? Greatland does both large and small jobs; most wont mix them. Problems theyre asked to solve is a non-stop stream. One man receiving jobs and six men performing PLOW sales, service, repairs, installation; WELDING fabrication, repairs at the shop and mobile; MACHINE SHOP fabrication and replacement, BOAT fabrication, repairs, and more is a real juggling feat. NOBODY but Gary, that I know of in the Valley combines all the facets of this shop with experts on hand. He knows more about metals on the tip of his tongue than I knew there was to know.Nobody does everything perfectly, including Gary. He runs the shops AND does a lot of work himself. Hes the most gracious and generous man in any business that I know of. In any service business, one must to be patient because, the unexpected occurs.I go to Greatland realizing that even if Im next in line, somebody with a higher priority of a job already in progress needing to get past a hurdle - must be put ahead of me. Thats life; decisions are just like in a hospital emergency room. Why do I put up with it? Because I want MY job done right and Greatland has done just that for me, every time. And they correct errors fast.Gary Feaster knows his resources, materials, employees skill sets, and he juggles them magnificently! Its entertaining for me to watch. Please reconsider your evaluation. Youll do well to choose Greatland in the future because its the best in the Valley for all they do. And theyll never hold it against you that you were unhappy before.I have checked. I know of one other fabricator who does both large and small jobs. I know of one other really good machine shop but they do different jobs. I know of two other Western Plow places and they both charge much higher prices. I know of no other shop so versatile, gracious, helpful and generous with time and pricing. Try again, please. Ill bet you a pizza that you cant get a better overall deal in the Valley. Tom Braund

Dropped off a boat to get an elevated transom welded together, they promised to get the boat back to me by the end of the second week. Needed this project done before hunting season as we needed the boat for an adventure, called them and they promised to have it done by the end of the third week. Spoke with them again today and they said the project was moved until next week. They make promises and cannot deliver, if your looking to have a project done with any expediency then chose another shop. Going to pick up the boat and take it elsewhere.
