Great staff! My daughters brand new Penn spincast reel wasnt working, they found the problem and fixed it free of charge. She was able to use it the rest of vacation. Thanks for help in making a memory!

So I paid $5 a dozen for medium shrimp. Got to the skyway Pier and half the shrimp could barely even fit on the hook they were so small. You could also order small shrimp. I dont think small shrimp can get any smaller than half the ones we got. Paid $30 for two dozen shrimp, two energy drinks, and D batteries. So $10 for the shrimp and $20 for two energy drinks and two batteries?

Good people and all the basic you need to fish.Convenient to the Skyway.They have a little bit of everything.

Hands down, this was the best experience I have ever had at a bait shop!!! Marlene The Mermaid was an amazing resource. Everyone there seemed genuinely interested in helping my son and I catch fish. They even invited us to a cook-out where we me the owner, Eric. We were also introduced to Eric from Fish Like Us he is a kayak charter captain, and was a wealth of information. I highly recommend Skyway Bait and Tackle to anyone who wants to catch fish in the Tampa Bay Area!

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Its my go to place for bait and tackle when Im hitting the skyway bridge for some fishing.

We are not from here we are from out of state but have been coming into the bait shop for the last two months while on vacation we come here to get our bait what is very nice every time we come in to the bait shop the young lady there Brittany she is always got a smile on her face and is always happy and she is very nice and sweet and she is extremely helpful. My husband loves going into the shop and she always has a smile on her face which lights up and it is a joy to walk in and see. We definitely will be back next time we come down

Neat little place, hasnt changed much in the 40 or so years I been going there, miss the big hog that used to lay out front.

Plenty of bait. Friendly staff. Limited selection of tackle such as rods/reels, but if you need hooks, leader, ect. should be able to find what youre looking for

The young lady working there I believe her name was Brittany was very sweet and helpful.

They always have what I need. The spot is conveniently located near several fishing spots. The gentleman that always takes care of us is nice. And its Covid friendly. Never fished til my son grew up, and now its 1 of the safest ways to relax and hang outdoors during these crazy times.

This is one of those places you want to keep for yourself, but cant do that, not the right thing to do. My son and I saw this Bait Shop from Hwy 19, and thought this looks of interest. We stopped in and was pleasantly surprised at the stock in this store, you would normally expect a smaller store; less stuff, however this owner and staff turn this shop into a must stop place. They had plenty of recommendations for tackle, and gave us a map, and showed where to go fishing. Really nice people and great service! We spent our entire allowed budget. Stop in, Im sure you will be greatly supprised, and happy you stopped. So conviently located on Hwy 19, near the Dollar store.

Hey People! if you need a bait shop who will give you the best bait, best update on fishing, what fish to catch, best fish to eat, etc. this is it...… Take it from us who flew down from Oregon, knew very little about catching Florida fish. We were able to catch 63 fish, seven different species (species identification card give to us by Skyway Bait & Tackle) in four days of fishing off our rental house sea wall....WE HAD A BLAST THANKS TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF SKYWAY BAIT & TACKLE! Noah was great. Gave me loads of good information. This is a bait shop where the people there are good actual hardcore fisherman. Not like some shops where the people just work there. Highly recommend these guys. Lots of the basic gear you need to go out and grab a monster.

Hey Im born and raised right here in Tampa Bay Florida I fixed your on my life Ive seen so many people by that place and not be able to turn profits or not be able to keep it but I tell you one thing these kids that bought this place this time they know what theyre doing their very helpful and its just what we needed in this area was a bait shop that knows what theyre doing I went there the other day and got three dozen shrimp and went out with my kids and my wife and enjoyed my day this place is very polite and friendly faces every time you walk in

This bait shop is amazing. It is so nice to walk into a older classic like shop like this and get shrimp. The shrimp are decent priced for the sizes they are. The prices on the tackle are really fair. Overall I really recommend coming to this shop. Best in the area!!!

Best Bait Shop convenient and closely located to the Skyway bridge fishing piers theres a lot of fish out there to be caught and these people know their fish ..young men and the staff were all very kind it took the time to tell us about the fish and what fish were hitting and what fish werent heading and what bait to use to catch the fish we were targeting ... If you need fishing tips, these are the people to help guide you and set you up with the right gear.

Today I went there with my husband, When I enter in that store is memory of mine, I went there with my father and family when I was little girl and go there many time! my dads favorite store. my dad passed away 7 years ago, I just want go there for buy some stuff for fishing and remember my dad. Im says that store is great shop for many years! plus good prices! I want to see that store keep good running business ever! 5 STARS!

Im relatively new to the Tampa area and have been trying to target the skyway for mangroves and gags. This bait shop is definitely the most convenient for me, but I have not had good luck with it. Ive been there three times in the last six weeks or so and every time Ive gotten small expensive shrimp.For example, tonight I got four dozen medium and one dozen large shrimp along with a small bag of ice. Their large shrimp are about what I would expect mediums to be. This bait tonight cost me $37 with that bag of ice. Considering what Ive gotten for about half that much from the bait shops on the North side, thats a tough pill to swallow. Honestly, both times Ive gotten bait from the shops on the bridge Ive gotten better shrimp for cheaper.Maybe I just hit them at a bad time, but I tried to give them a fair shake.

I just paid $16 dollars for 3 dozen tiny shrimp. I counted them and it was only 22. Not the first time at this place they have miscounted

With the new owners, this place is better stocked and everyone working is friendly and knowledgeable.

Most expensive shrimp out of all of the bait places I have been around here. 3 dozen shrimp cost 16 dollars for shrimp the size of my pinky. It doesnt feel welcoming inside either, the same kid makes the experience feel awkward. By the time I get to my fishing hole the shrimp are always soft, I strongly believe there livewell needs fixed. Highly do not recommend, drive the extra 10 minutes to any other place.

The absolute best Bang for your buck they have the cheapest shrimp I have ever bought to go fishing are you should use to go and buy my bait on the beer now I do not make that error and always buy at the skyway bait and tackle because they are the cheapest way to go they have everything from snacks to fishing Poles which are not overly priced like other places to make especially on the period
