Cant say enough good things about our wonderful experience working with Compass Consignments! We worked with Ashton who was so helpful and his communication was top notch. He was readily available every time we contacted him. We live 7 hours out of town and found a boat we were interested in purchasing. Although we were nervous to purchase a boat unseen, we had such confidence that we were working with a trustworthy team. They even went above and beyond with helping us get the boat delivered. Our process was made easy and we highly recommend the team at Compass Consignments.

Ashton and his team were very helpful with the successful sale of my Regal 2500. They helped me determine a fair asking price and then took care of all the details after the offer was accepted. I would highly recommend the company and would gladly use them again.

Mike and I have been talking for a year about finding a particular boat and he sure came through with the perfect setup and great price! I highly recommend these down to earth guys! Compass Consignments did a great job with service but also went way above and beyond. There were a couple items that needed done to the boat before we bought it and they did a great job getting the work done and keeping us informed of progress. The sea trial went great and the boat was ready. While towing it away we had truck problems about 20 minutes away. They came out and towed the boat back while we got our truck fixed. They delivered the boat for us the next day since our truck would need a couple days to get fixed. We worked with Ashton and Mike and they were both great. Ashton particularly went way out of his way to do what we needed done. I recommend them completely if you are looking for a used boat. They are fantastic!!

We had an excellent experience with Compass Consignments. Their process for listing and selling our boat was efficient and thorough and resulted in a very positive outcome for us. Mike was very easy to work with - responsive and ethical. The portfolio of pictures and description that he composed to market our boat was amazing. The entire engagement was professional and painless. We highly recommend this broker.

Just got to hand it to these guys. I live in Denver and bought this beautiful boat from then while on a cruise. They handled everything with my credit union back in Colorado so I literally just showed up signed a few pieces of paper and was out the door. Ashton took us for a test run and explained all the parts of the boat. Thanks again!

From the second I called about my future boat to the second I boated off with her Mike Handley was a complete professional. From the inspection (fixing 5 things that he could have just said the boat is as is) to staying on top of the financing to delivery he was on the ball. Mike was very knowledgeable about the boat I was buying and took time to explain all of the systems and procedures. Could not have asked anything more. I would and will highly recommend Mike and Compass Consignment to anyone looking for a great experience. Thanks again.

So listen, life isnt perfect. Stuff happens. This business deals with used boats. Like I said, stuff happens.I have purchased two boats from Compass. The first was a 20 Sea Fox that came ready to go and that I enjoyed for 2 years. I replaced a stator about a year in. I ended up selling the boat for close to what I paid 2 years earlier. Great deal on a great boat.In the beginning of 2018, I went back for a boat. Same helpful, friendly staff. I found a boat that they had bought for the business to possibly do some tournaments in. I loved the boat so they agreed to sell it.I was told that, although there was a good motor on it, they had purchased a motor for it; and that they would switch the motors out so that I could have the better, newer, four stroke Suzuki. At this point, we made a deal. We agreed on a price. In my mind, I was getting a used boat with the switched out engine, as is. Im pretty handy so I started planning on all of the things that I would have to do and change and buy to get it to where I wanted it. Again, it is a used boat with stuff needing attention. If they changed out the engine and gave it to me, I would have been thrilled as is.But, they took the boat to Holly Marine(which I would HIGHLY recommend for any service work you need) out in Palmetto. Tim Holly looked over my first purchase and even fixed an issue in the binacle weeks later for free!! Just a good dude that knows what hes doing and cares. So, while at Holly Marine, the co-owner of Compass Tyler, rigged the newer motor. But he tore everything apart. He didnt just slap it on with what was there. He literally tore it all apart, sorted out all of the wires and rigged everything like it was his own boat. I honestly did not expect it. Of course, Tim Holly was there to oversee that it was all correct. Then, when I finally got the call that the boat was almost ready, I was told that they were waiting on parts and accessories that they had ordered. I was truly shocked. I was told by the other co-owner Mike that everything they had planned to do to the boat for themselves, they were doing for me. I advised that I would be happy to do the last few things myself if I could pick the boat up. There was no problem with that and they delivered the boat as agreed. Then, a day or so later, I got a call to come pick up the many items that they had ordered for the boat and trailer. I was shocked. Things that I did not expect nor ask for, were just given to me AFTER all of the money and deal were done. The boat has been used perfection and such a joy. I dialed in the last of the items they gave me and now am just enjoying honestly, my favorite boat of all time! This is what I can tell you for sure. For anyone with any common sense, it is obvious that the used boat business is inherently a TOUGH business. So many variables and unknowns. But, the owners and staff of Compass have all been there and working for many, many years. You do not stay in this business as long as they have by screwing over the customer. There are bound to be issues and problems when selling used boats. This requires cooperation and communication on both sides. If anyone has had a bad experience with the staff of this business, then they didnt allow the staff to make things right. These guys do anything and everything within reason to make the customer happy.Furthermore, the staff has an attitude of wanting to deliver the absolute best product for the best price. They want to make that most for the consignees; while giving the buyers a great boat for the price with as little or no problems. In closing, after two boats that Ive purchased from Compass, I am sold on the staff and business. They have my trust and will continue to have my business. Again, you dont stay in this type of business this long by selling junk or by cheating people. We have ALL seen these businesses come and go around town. Its a tough business. Mike and Tyler and Mike stay in business because they TRULY care about their customers. They truly care about both sides of the deal!

I brought my waverunner to Compass Consignments to sell. From the start Mike took great care of me, the waverunner and ultimately a satisfied buyer. Before the buyer picked it up, Mike gave the waverunner a test run and discovered a bad sensor. I cant thank him enough for going above and beyond the way did to make sure it was fixed before the buyer picked it up. An excellent stress free experience with an honest and reliable company that I highly recommend.

Consumer beware...seriously! the management is incompetent . They quoted me a price and then reneged the deal. The owner spent more time making excuses then it took to complete the job. I drove and delivered my boat as scheduled. I get a call three hours later telling me they cant get to the work....they had three days to complete a 3 hr job very light cleaning. Owner claimed his sales staff member didnt know what he was doing. Everyone wondering what the deal was? It involved light cleaning/polish on a pristine 16 Foot Boston Whaler Standard Model (no console) I agreed to pay 250.00 for the cleaning.....The owner sublets the work out he plays middle man....$$$

I purchased a boat for $20k. They said it ran beautifully, water-ready, no problems. After a water test they had 3 things to fix and 1 thing to deliver before I received delivery of the boat. Instead, they paid me $800 i lieu of delivering the $3500 missing parts and in trade for a good review (so the good review part is that the check cleared and the 1 guy sort of tried to make amends) . And the 3 things were not fixed. I got 1 fixed for $300, but only after their non-fix caused someone to fall down into the boat and bust her leg open. The 2nd issue (a squeal from the engine compartment) they said was easy for them to resolve. So far Im $6,500 in parts and labor to fix this issue they were supposed to fix. 3 serpentine belts, a new alternator, 2 new steering pumps, steering ram, tension pulleys, raw water pump, and who knows what else, Im still stuck at the dock and now the engine overheats at idle. I litrally got only 1-2 hours in total with the boat and for months its been stuck at the dock while mechanics chase problems on the engine.Either these guys knew about these issues and covered them up, or they know nothing about boats - Im not sure. From what Ive learned in the past 6 weeks about boat engines, these problems should have been obvious to anyone handling boats for a living. Each and every symptom I experienced they had a cover-up or reason for it, then swept it under the rug, and promised to resolve it before I got the boat. However, that didnt happen. One example of how they fixed a leak on a water pump is that they wrapped it in a piece of black tape, which failed. The main example, a squeal in the engine compartment to them was minor belt noise, dont worry. Black liquid in the bilge was because their mechanic dripped something while doing route maintenance. A cut off in power while driving was because the boat was sitting too long. The 2nd time it was because the other guy forgot to flip the switch for the battery charger. The 3rd time it was because they didnt charge it. Turns out those problems were all related to the steering ram dripping fluid until it was empty, causing the steering pump to seize, destroying other parts along the way.So for $26,000 I have a boat that cant leave the dock and has been sitting in the marina, unused for the past couple of months. Its undoubtedly the worst purchasing experience of anything Ive ever had. Additionally, needing $6k-10k in parts and labor, I overpaid for the boat by probably $10,000. Keep in mind, this was sold as water-ready, perfect running condition, nothing wrong, just serviced, ready to go.If youre not a engine mechanical and boating expert, you might want to find a shop that offers a better buying experience than what Ive had here.My reason for writing such an extensive review is due to the fact that another owner in the marina is having an identical experience with his boat from this shop.

Buying a boat at COMPASS CONSIGNMENTS PALMETTO FLORIDA. ...This is a story about my experience with COMPASS CONSIGNMENTS PALMETTO FLORIDA and I post this artikel because I think everyone should be the concequence when you buy a boat at this compagny. In Januari 2016 I went from Europe to Florida to buy a fishing boat because me and my wife were going to emigrate to Panama where we would start a sportfishing compagny. When I bought the boat at COMPASS CONSIGNMENTS it was Mike Handley who helped me and everything worked out well until after the sale. Then the boat had to be shipped to Costa Rica what I arranged myself with a shipping company. However when the boat arrived in the harbour at the customs and I came there to pick up I did not get it because the papers are wrong.Mike Handley from COMPASS CONSIGNMENTS had given the papers of a different trailer.A few days later and after I asked him several times he provided me with the correct papers. But back at the customs they told me I had to pay $500 fine because of the problem and when I asked Mike if he would pay the $500 he would NOT even think about it while his company COMPASS CONSIGNMENTS made this BIG mistake !!!!After that I had to wait for 1 month before the customs had changed papers. When I came there for the 3th time there was another problem, because the idea was to get the boat on a tourist visa and bring it by land to Panama without costs. However than the customs told me that the permit was only valid for 3 weeks and now I had to pay $5000!!!!!! to import the boat in Costa Rica what I did not even want to do !!Another big thing is that I could not make money with the boat at least 5 weeks what also cost at least $6000 and I had to travel to Costa Rica a few times and has to stay in hotels! !So the moral of this story is that you have to think twice before you buy a boat at COMPASS CONSIGNMENTS PALMETTO FLORIDA because they are not accurate and they dont feel responsible for their trade!!Marcel
