Had 2 great dives with Capt. Fred! He was very personable and professional. He was flexible helping out our group of less experienced divers. Got some nice sausages for lunch and enjoyed the dog on the boat. Would recommend for a fun dive trip!

I couldnt be happier with our experience with Captain Fred! We had a cancelation with another charter, and thankfully that allowed us to find Born Blue. My son, age 14, was doing his first ocean dive, and Captain Fred gave him great instruction and encouragement. Will definitely come back to Born Blue!

Definitely recommend a 3 tank dive. It was my sons and my 1st spear fishing trip. We averaged 2 to 4 fish per dive. Captain Fred was hospitable; he made fresh fish for lunch. I did get one free dive at the dock. I recommend not helping him dock... leave it to the professionals. 😂

I hadn’t been in the water to dive in over a year but Captain Fred put me at ease. He was my dive partner on both dives while another group went with John, another dive master. Both Fred and John were very knowledgeable and helpful. Their people skills are first rate. Had two great dives with Born Blue yesterday. Captain Fred was very thoughtful and safety conscious. This was very important to us as we had our 14 year old daughter along. Lunch of grilled brats was also a nice treat once we surfaced from our second dive. The first mate Henry was incredibly warm and friendly.

Capt. Fred & his Mate John rocked. He put us on a couple sweet spots with plenty of fish to choose from. I’m an amateur diver and spear gunner but they put me right at ease. Thanks so much Capt. Fred & hopefully I can make another trip with you again.

Was I have to say one of the better days of my life and by far my very best diving experience. Captain Fred is knowledgeable and takes you to different locations with plenty to experience we saw a giant sea turtle among the multiple different kinds of fish and eels. Anytime i come to Florida from now on it will be close around because I look forward to many more diving trips with the friendly captain. Last for everyone who wants the buisness side unbelievable rates and non rushed experience Captain makes sure everyone gets every ounce out of every second of the trip even grilled us hamburgers for lunch. In one word, PERFECTION.

WOW! There are no words to say how great of a time i had on Fred’s boat. Fred is a professional in every sense of the word and I can’t wait to go back out with him! The sausages were an awesome surprise and we got to shoot some quality fish and experience some of the best diving in the gulf I’ve ever done, period! Don’t listen to #bobcriesalot (review a couple before mine), Fred is the man and I can’t wait to book many more trips with him and Henry the pup :)

Captain Fred was so responsive from the beginning and was willing to customize our charter experience. The kids snorkeled and this mom did a scuba refresher. He is down to earth and offers a great experience for the local wanting to explore (well worth the money). He was also great with the kids and offered a well rounded family experience. We loved his burgers and mate (aka Captain Henry).

We had so much fun with Capt Fred and his dog Henry. We took our family on a snorkeling trip with him and it was great family fun. He was very patient and treated us so well. He made amazing hand pressed burgers and even had drinks for us all. We had never been to Egmont Key or done a private charter but will do it again for sure. Thanks for an awesome trip. We will look you up the next time we are visiting family.

Had an absolute blast with Captain Fred during a private open water scuba certification class for me and my husband. He was a great instructor, he made us feel confident in our skills and we felt he kept us very safe. We are definitely ready to dive on our own! This was sooo great!!the tour guide was knowledgeable and lovely. So many fun facts about. The only thing that could have been better was the boat but you get what you pay for. Good distance from Union Station as well. The Captain is a great which is great! 100% recommend.

Went on a special outing as a guest of Capt Fred. It was so much fun! The folks at the river boat company took great care with all of the guests. Food was great and hot. great cold and refreshing. . Scenery was amazing. What a great night to spend on the river! Thanks Capt Fred!

Captain Fred was a very good host. He was very patient, very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure that we had a good time. This was the first time that we had ever scuba dived and we didn’t know what to expect. He immediately put us at ease. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Born Blue for anyone looking to try out scuba diving.

Great charter! Capt. Fred was very kind and patient with our group of 3 newer divers. He handled all the gear and helped make sure everything was set up properly and safely. Hes also just overall a nice guy. We had a couple of hiccups, one person got sick and one decided not to dive the 2nd spot; but Fred was still very encouraging and kind.Capt. Fred also has great recommendations on dive spots. Both of the spots we went to had amazing sea life and were really fun to explore! Both were about 60.Huge bonus is Henry, the adorable beagle that hangs out on the boat for the whole trip! I would absolutely recommend Fred and cant wait to dive with him again!

If youre going to ride a boat, you should definitely ride one the boats down at Padelford. They have 3 different boats and a ton of public cruise options. You could go on a public sightseeing, a sunset dinner, a margarita on the Mississippi, a rib dinner, a lunch and lock, the options are endless.All food is created by their chef who creates all the food with love and care. They also do private events like weddings, corporate events, family reunions, anything you can think of.

Capt Fred was so wonderful and personable! The tour was amazingly informative and well thought out.I would recommend FL to anyone visiting the area or if you want to play home town tourist for the day! :)

I wanted to send a quick update - Ive been on 4-5 highly recommended tours since this one, in great sea cities... and Capt Fred is still by FAR the best one Ive been on. 11/10 would do this one again!

I did the shark tour on a weekday in the morning and had a fantastic time! The gear they had wasnt fantastic, but it worked just fine and fit everyone. We also saw lots of sharks, but nature is hit or miss so it isnt their fault if there arent very many that day. I would still recommend it though!!

I have now good experience from them and they are awesome! They have frequently discounted the price for me and on one occasion when some booties didn’t fit they accepted my return with no questions asked.They were friendly and provided great customer service.

We decided to take the Riverboat tour while visiting area and we were not disappointed. It was a relaxing and enjoyable trip down and learned some interesting facts about the area. I highly recommend taking the tour.

We went out of our comfort zone and hired Captain Fred with Blue Born. We were not disappointed! Capt. was safe, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Thousands of productive numbers in his GPS. We can’t say enough about this experience. We highly recommend his charter. There’s no doubt we will be hiring him again soon and many more to come. His numbers were incredible. We’ve never seen so many huge hogfish on a dive. EVER... We passed up multiple keepers because there were other larger keepers in view at all times. We had no connection with him at all prior to our charter. Found him on Google. We met him just a few days ago and I will tell you he is EXCELLENT. I’m hesitant about leaving such an awesome review because I don’t want him booked for months. Saw about 40 leopard sharks and rays on the tour. It was awesome.

On our first dive, a drift dive, the captain left the boat in reverse gear when I was told to enter the water. The boat backed over me and sucked my fins into the two inboard props, shredding them and breaking three bones in my right foot. I could have easily lost my foot. Nearly one year later I’m still in pain and my lifestyle for sports, fitness and even wearing a regular shoe has been compromised. No apology or refund was given at the time, and I did not pursue any type of compensation. Do not use this company if you value your safety and health. They do not follow standard practices of diving safety, such as turning off the engines when divers enter the water. Beware!

Just got back from a dive trip with Captain Fred. GREAT DIVES, went spear fishing and did very good. 2 grouper, 1 trigger fish, 1 hog nose and a lion fish. After boarding the boat following the 2nd dive I was pleasantly surprised....Capt. Fred made us lunch. Defentily going to book a dive with him again!

I chartered Cpt. Fred on 6/25/17 on a spearfishing trip. This was my experience with Born Blue Charters. On the trip out to our spot Cpt. Fred was laid back and easy to talk to. He had the desire to make sure we had a good time. As soon as you surfaced, he brought the boat right over to you. I put five good size hognoise snappers on the boat that day! Cpt. Fred showed us a good time that day, Im looking forward to chartering him again soon.
