I had called to see if they carried a dc power jack replacement for my laptop, the guy who assisted me was very kind, and helpful, he wasnt sure about availability so he took my contact info and got back to me very quickly! Unfortunately it would have taken him a month or so to get the part I was looking for, though he was kind enough to tell me where to find them on ebay. Thank you for the help! I went back today because I needed a new printer, mouse, ink & word processing system.I came back to this small local place for a few reasons. One of the biggest is he has REALLY GREAT PRICES!This is where and why you would want to shop for your computer needs not just a computer.When I bought my laptop Toby said, I installed the free word processor for you. Some people like it some don’t. Try it out before you just pay for the other.”Great advice, he saved me $150.00 that day. I did try the free word processing system. It’s nice, & works great if you don’t use it everyday for many different things. I can see where for some people it’s a great word processor.But, not for me! I took his advice used it, it didn’t fit my needs so I went back and bought the Microsoft.The printer. My opinion on printers is, what you pay for the ink is more important than the initial cost of the printer. Toby asked what I print and do I need a fax. I told him. I asked him How much for the ink?His price for comparable printers was less. Very reasonable price!The ink was about $20 less then for a different system somewhere else.The really good thing is he carries everything you need in the store there. So when I run low on ink I can just go to this store to get it. No hassles! Very simple.Toby is a very nice man. Great experience. I bought my first lap top here. He was very knowledgeable and polite.I wasn’t big on laptops, he took time and explained to me the best ways to have it work with my needs. Great computer store. He also does things like clear out the old computer and save what you want.I haven’t needed any repairs yet, I am sure when I do they will go smoothly.I believe in shopping at local small business. This computer store and it’s owners are the perfect example of why. You feel cared for here. Top notch service is what we need when it comes to computers 😁

Didnt want to entertain trying to help me out suggested I go to Best buy. Told me that they are small Mom and Pop shop and that was why they could not even entertain my problem and I said I was from a small Mom and Pop shop too, got hung up on.Im not sure what else to say, Im sure that theyve helped people out, didnt even want to hear what my problem was.EDIT Thank you for clarifying. I will clarify the hang up, a lady told me our discussion was becoming circular and she was hanging up, good bye, in response to my saying I operate a mom/pop shop too. We all have bad days, and on this day, I had just spent 6 hours following advanced tutorials trying to solve my problem with Windows 10, and so I was a bit exasperated too. I try to keep my reviews honest, and to the point, hence the 3 stars, as I am sure you have helped tons of folks out there. These guys are the best. They have repaired a computer for me in the past and there pricing is great. I just had them build gaming computer and it is awesome. You need a pilots license to fly this puppy. The price was fantastic as was and is the service. I would not go anywhere else.

I went in to purchase a laptop, and besides purchasing a laptop with a solid state drive, I found a great buy on a HP Inkjet printer.This is the best non-big box computer store in the South Chicago suburban area and they have been in business for over 23 years.The staff are extremely knowledge and they specialize in PC hardware and service. Their services include building custom systems, such as gaming PCs, selling refurbished PCs, laptops, and peripherals, installation of software, virus removal, repair/upgrading of PCs and laptops, etc.Their refurbished PCs & laptops come with a 30 day warranty and are preloaded with the latest version of Windows and virus software, where appropriate.When you go in to purchase a used/refurbished PC/laptop, the staff first questions the customer as to what they want to do with the device and what software they plan to run. They then verify the hardware requirements for the software (if required) and then show the customer what devices they have available that meet the users requirements. You wont find this at a big box store or on the Internet.Their prices are extremely competitive and the customer winds up with a PC/laptop at a fraction of a new unit, and with better performance (faster processor, larger memory, &/or larger/faster/more reliable hard drive. Some units actually have solid state hard drives which mean faster boot time, fast response time, and higher reliability (no moving parts in the hard drive).From now on, this is the only computer store I will shop at for my future computer needs.

Brought a simple Acer Chromebook there to request a battery swap. They said it wasnt worth fixing and that I should just buy a new $200+ laptop rather than them possibly making the easiest buck ever by simply ordering a battery in installing it in place of the old one. They could have even charged me $20+ more than the parts & labor cost and I still would have paid it just to avoid the hassle of having to do it myself but apparently the concept that I had a perfectly good computer aside from the battery was beyond them and that I should just pay 5 times more like I just have money to throw in the garbage.

They helped me with a laptop charging issue. I thought they needed th o replace the charging port. But the gentleman behind the counter tried another charger and it worked. The charging port is loose but still works. Saved me over a $100. Great place.

I solely went to this store because I talk to a nice woman that answered their phone and asked if they recycled old electronics. I though it would be expensive however they told me that they charge a small fee for only printers, old televisions, and computer monitors.When I arrived, a gentleman with a long ZZ-Top beard directed me to the back of the store where they took everything which was a lot including old computers, gaming consoles, all types of cords including old Christmas lights, a printer, etc. They took everything but a 50” plus tv because their store was not able big enough to accommodate it. They also destroyed hard drives with personnel information. All in all, I cleaned out a good section of my basement and they only ended charging me $5 for a printer that I recycled.*if you have a lot of stuff to recycle, I’d call first before taking to make sure they have room. And also ask weather they accept all of your items you would like recycled.

Great job. They fixed my computer in a few days and gave me for free several nice programs that were upgraded programs I had on the computer. Price was reasonable when you compare it to the vary low quality of work by the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I took it to Best Buy first and they charged me $50 and then didnt fix the problem. The people are vary nice and helpful.

Been working with these guys for years (15+). Courtesy, honesty, trust. I always leave knowing I got the straight story. If your system isnt worth fixing, they will tell you, nice! If it is worth it, turn-around time and pricing are more than reasonable.

Fantastic place to deal with. So far have dealt with Computer Greeks 2 times, each time was hassle free. These folks take as much time with you as you need, you never feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. They will take the time to answer all your questions and are very laid back. No upselling at all, and if something is more then you need they will tell you so you dont waste money on unnecessary things.

Do not bother trying to sell anything to these guys, first I take a perfectly good printer and they tell me that they cant buy it because it did not have ink, Then I take 2 computers there to sell. first off I waited close to 30 minutes befroe someone even saw me. So then they tell me one is not worth buying, and the other they have to look at, so I waited 3 weeks and went in myself, and then they tell me that the other one is not worth anything either. and you are better off going to best buy or a different computer shop to get your computer fixed, they are really expensive.

RE: HADLEY CANINEDont often do this review thing, but I was in Computer Greeks the same time this guy was trying to sell his memory.Long story short- the ram he was selling was low grade crap, the ram they were selling was Crucial.Somehow he wanted to get retail price on used ram and not pay retail price on new ram.The old guy behind they counter gave him good tips and told him about free programs to test the ram.The guy was too busy being a smart ass to listen to what the counter guy was saying.His loss.

Not going to be flashy. If your computer is broken, this is the only place you want it going. If you need an answer or obscure part, they will have it or point you in right direction. I have been a customer of these guys for twenty years, and no matter how far away I move, I make the drive. My computer is in their shop right now. In my past I worked at both geek squad and Rex Service in worth, skill wise, these guys win hands down.

Insanely overpriced, the person I spoke to was either intentionally trying to scam me, or was just dangerously incompetent. Either way, avoid this place at all costs.After upgrading a PC for my sister, we ended up with some extra RAM that didnt fit in hers, so she let me use it in my PC instead. Unfortunately, while my PC had the correct slots for the RAM (both support DDR3), the PC only supported up to DDR3 1333MHz, while the RAM from my sister was DDR 1600MHz, so I went into Computer Greeks to ask about if I could trade in the RAM I had for something of the same size, but slightly slower that my PC could deal with.They were eager to perform the trade, and would even install it for free! Unfortunately, their prices were absurd. The RAM I had can be sold on ebay for around $40, and the RAM I was hoping to trade in for around $45. On the other hand, they offered me $20 for my RAM (half its value), and were looking to charge $90 for the RAM I was buying (twice its value). While I was expecting to pay something like $5 minimum, maybe something closer to $10-15, the $70 they were asking for was insane.For the prices they were asking for the trade-in, I could have literally THROWN AWAY the memory I had, and bought it brand new off Amazon, Newegg, or any other reputable dealers and still come out far ahead of what he was asking for.When he realised I wasnt remotely interested in getting ripped off, he started trying to intimidate me into getting ripped off with some non-sense doomsday scenarios about how I could lose everything on my computer if my RAM fails, not realising or not wanting to admit that everything in RAM is already lost every time your computer is turned off.
