Awesome course! Has some challenging holes and some very scenic views. The entire staff was very friendly and the overall experience was great! The course was in solid shape and the greens were rolling well. I will definitely plan another trip to go back and play a round in the future. Love the entire vibe of the whole area. Definitely recommend!

Awesome 11 holes that I played. The first 5 are very interesting due to all the water hazards. Nice driving range and putting area. The starter was very informative about the course and what tees to play.. What I was not told is how close the starting time were and after 11 holes in @ 2.5 hours of play our whole group decided to opt out and call it quits even though at a steep rate!! I would think at those rates there would be more time between flights or someone to police the slow playing people!!

I was back in the 30A area and decided to give this another go. The customer service was outstanding today, and the course was in terrific shape. They have won the 5th star for my review, and Ill definitely be back!Really enjoyed the Nicklaus course today, however they have a customer service issue. The lady in the pro-shop was polite and courteous, as was the young man who helped when I finished at dusk, but the older guy who initially loaded my clubs in the cart should be doing something which doesnt require engaging the public. If it were just about the course I would definitely give it 5 stars, but customer service matters, and I would rather not have someone who obviously hates either their job, other humans, or both be the ambassador at the start. I told him I was ok getting my own bag, but he still jerked it out of my trunk, threw it onto the cart half-ass, and let three of my clubs slide out of the bag, leaving them behind in my vehicle. After I fixed that, I smiled and asked him to point me to the first hole, he acted as if I were stupid for not already knowing. Again, the course was outstanding, and it was great to play one which Nicklaus designed. Good roll on the fairways, tight well-kept greens, interesting water hazards, and a couple proper restroom facilities. Not as hard as I expected, but still challenging enough. I would say Id play it again or its sister course (The Meadows), but theres so much golf in the area without having to deal with a jerk, Im not sure I will make the 45 minute drive to deal with that guy again.

It was a pleasure working with Bay Point in planning a golf trip. They had friendly staff who loaded our clubs on clean and fully charged Golf Boards that were lined up and ready to go when we got there. Both courses offered a great variety that made the challenge very enjoyable. We hope to be making another trip soon!

Stayed here for one night with my family. At first glance there is a thick layer of dust on top of picture frames, and pieces of the bathroom wall is missing. The blankets had stains on them as well. It wasnt until morning when my wife complained that something bit her while reading in bed. Then my daughters started complaining that something bit them as well. My wife started looking around and discovered the bed had fleas in them. Both my daughters who slept in different beds woke up with several bug bites from their toes, up their bodies, and on their necks. Both my wife and I also had bug bites but our reaction to them wasnt as severe. I brought this to the attention of the front desk. The woman we spoke to said they had a long term tenant stay in the same room but they were not allowed pets. This building was pet friendly because the room below us had a dog. Im pretty disgusted with our stay, and I feel bad for my children because the bites not only itch but they hurt.

Just across St Andrews Bay from Panama City, youll find Bay Point Resort and two top-quality and contrasting championship golf courses - the parkland elegance of the tree-lined Meadow course is overshadowed by the usually higher-rated and more expansively roaming Nicklaus course, rated 4-1/2 stars - revamped by the Golden Bear stable in 2005.A layout typically characterised by excellent upkeep, variety, challenge and great Nicklaus design work.

Price was great! Twilight rate of $36 and a junior rate of $25 for my 14 yr old sonThe cart they gave me had no parking brake. That was a challenge. The place was just a mess. Not very organized for a Wednesday afternoon. Garbage cans overflowing, locals darting in and out of fairways, driving reverse through holes and tee boxes with no respect that you’re teeing off. The starter was clueless and confused. The cart girl came around once!! There is no turn, straight eighteen no stopping at clubhouse. When we finished, at 6:00pm, the whole place was locked up tight. No beer after the round, no buying a hat or souvenir ball. Pretty disappointing

Although we did play the Meadows golf course here, we were most impressed with the tennis center and pro Suzanne. We were, staying at the nearby Marriott Legends that had no tennis. Suzanne introduced us to local members who integrated us into, doubles and a round robin. Thanks Suzanne. And special thanks to Lisa who took care of my husband when he got woozy from the heat.

7/9/18 - For the price you pay to play golf here, you are better off not playing golf in Panama City Beach fl at all. The reviews on here did not live up to the courses hype. I played the meadows course while on vacation and that ran me about 73 dollars, it seemed as if every pond was dried up and in bad shape. There are no scenic holes that grabbed my attention every hole looked generic and simple. The fairways and the starter are about the only two positive things about this golf course. The greens were cut and looked nice from a far but ran very slow. Very disappointed with this golf course and will play Signal hill or Kelly’s plantation on my next visit to PCB. Two stars is generous.

Played in a charity tournament today on the Meadows course. Greens were in good shape but a little slow. Fairways were a little spotty. Biggest problem was when we made the turn, they had started letting other groups tee off in front of us, in the middle of the tournament. To make matters worse, two of the groups they let go were fivesomes! It took 40 minutes to play two holes. I called the clubhouse to complain & they said someone would come out to check. Nobody showed. Definitely will not be playing any tournaments here again.

Over the past several years, the Panama City Beach area has really cleaned up its act. No longer is it colleges spring destination for uninhibited college kids. The real estate market is booming, area businesses are rebounding nicely, and the hotel industry is once again beginning to flourish. All is good in Floridas panhandle. And all is good at the Sheraton Bay Point Resort - Panama City Beachs premier golf destination. The resort is situated on historic St. Andrews Bay and is a perfect getaway destination for couples, families and golfers. Yes, golfers. The property, which is home to 36 holes of bay front golf including the panhandles only Nicklaus design, recently underwent a complete remodel of the lodging, restaurants and golf clubhouse and the final results are nothing short of amazing. Sheraton Bay Point is the only AAA 4-Diamond franchise hotel along the Emerald Coast, with 320 sharply appointed guest rooms, 65 of which are one-bedroom suites. Located about a 7-iron away from the main hotel and on the fairway of the Nicklaus Courses 3rd and 6th holes is a collection of golf villas that feature both hotel style rooms as well as one-bedroom suites that can sleep up to four golfers comfortably. On property and a short cart ride away from the hotel are two of northwest Floridas finest golf courses: The Willard Byrd designed Meadows Course and the Nicklaus Course. The Nicklaus Course is the crown jewel at Bay Point and plays 7,152 yards from the back tees with a rating of 74.3 and a slope of 143. Most golfers will be challenged from Tee 2 (6,430/70.7/132) and still leave with a little dignity intact. Ladies will be tested from a distance of 4,974 yards, yet still enjoy themselves. The first five holes of the Nicklaus Course set the tone for your round. The first hole showcases the water that can become your nemesis on 17 of the next 18 holes. Its a dogleg right around a lake that requires an accurate shot off the tee up around the 150-yard marker. From there, youll have a slightly uphill approach to a green protected in the front by two deep bunkers.Number 18 is a great finishing hole and is almost the mirror image of the opening hole. It requires a forced carry over water that plays all the way down the left side, with more of the wet stuff short and right of the green. A tee shot over the water and slightly left of the fairway bunker will leave a short pitch shot into an elevated triangular green protected on all three sides by sand. A great end to a great round. The Meadows Course dates back to 1965 and uses the original 328 Bermuda pushup greens. Theyre still in great shape, a lasting testament to a good grounds crew. The Meadows plays 6,913 yards from the back tees. Tee 2 plays about 550 yards shorter and is still a challenge for most. This course has stood the test of time and can play tough - especially if you tend to spray the ball. Case in point is Number 4, a narrow par 4 (372 yards from Tee 2), slight dogleg right that is the courses #1 handicap. Center or just left of center off the tee is the preferred shot, just be sure to avoid the fairway bunker on the left. From there, trust your club selection into a small, elevated, triangular green protected on all sides by sand. The Meadows also finishes with one of the layouts most memorable holes, a 384-yard (Tee 2) dogleg right par 4 with bunkers on either side off the tee right at the bend. A good drive will leave a mid to long iron into a small green protected on the right with water and sand on either side. Another strong finishing hole. The winter months are a great time to visit the resort and take advantage of everything Bay Point has to offer. And, since Northwest Floridas seasonality peaks in the summer, a great value can be had between January and March.

Disappointed in the quality of the course; I expected a higher level of care on a course with Nicklaus name attached. The pro shop attendant was efficient and the starter was friendly and even got us off a little early. I was disappointed in that there was no marshalling; two of us followed another twosome that followed a fivesome. The round took five hours; we waited on every shot. There was no water to drink on the entire course and the restrooms were very substandard. The fee was too high for the level of golf experience.Ron BabersMontgomery TX
