Excellent experience. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even though we had an unusual case, it was handled very professionally. I was very nervous about going. But everyone made me feel relaxed.

Service is super fast, it takes a little long to find appointments online but once you find it is super fast ans easy. We renewed a passport and were in and out in about 1 hr, it takes longer at the DHL office which you have to go to pay for the shipping of your passport but other than that great experience.

Disappointing appointments! Even though all the paperwork is correct they always seem to find something that cause my family member to get denied. So easy for Central Americans to just walk in and get approved.

It was good. The thing is that they dont have many covid 19 precautions, they had all the people using masks, and they ask for the healthy distance, but didnt take temperature on entrance, and the waiting room all the people are together and without the safety distance

Quick experience evryone very helpful they allow you in before the appt. time. Appt time 2:30 went in at 12pm and was out by 12:40 take a black ink pen with you so you can fill in anything additional on the spot They dont accept visa cards. I payed with master card luckily had a backup.

I went down to Mexico City when they reopened in March. Arrived at 10:00 and they opened up a little early (around 10:40) to allow us in. The staff was cordial and they defaulted to Spanish when they spoke to you. After entering and getting in line, the entire process took about 30-45 minutes. The staff was great and friendly. Even during this whole Covid thing, my renewed passport arrived at my local DHL office in under two weeks. I was very impressed with the service and its obvious that the place is run very smoothly.

Called seeking for help and employees or people working there are very rude... They wont let you finish explaining and they transfer you to another operator who was also very rude and in a rush to hang up.. I asked for her name and hang up on me . .. called a second time hoping to get help from someone else and same thing happened...

We went into this knowing it’d be a journey, but it’s been such a relief to find that every official we’ve spoken to has been really kind and helpful.

Amazing Service,; I was in need of an urgent passport and everybody ( except for the guard granting the entrance to the actual building) were so understanding and caring. That is why Im taking the time to write this review. I was impressed and beyond grateful.

Only complaint, on the web page of the Embassy is not started that BBVA Bancomer credit or debit cards are not accepted, which is very strange since they are asustes to VISA.I needed to walk almost 2 kilometers in order to find and open ATM to withdraw cash and pay for the passports. Im 56 and more than able to walk that distance, but there are mothers with babys and elder people that will be a struggle

The United States Embassy on Paseo de la Reforma is the center we visited during our transit through Mexico from Cuba.That is where I was interviewed before coming to the USA, undergoing a physical as no one can enter if there are certain medical conditions.Alone, without my parents or brother, I lived in Mexico City for six months at a rather early age and it is an honor today to write a review on the very institution that provided asylum for me and my family.IN GOD WE TRUST that all immigrants choose to enter the USA legally.

I have been three years in a row. First two times were quick, easy and pleasant. The people that work inside are proficient and very polite. This time It took two days and three sets of documents. The security outside is rude, has no idea, doesn’t speak a word of English. I had to change my ticket and stay three extra days for listening to the security.

Relatively smooth experience renewing my passport. The only problem came when I left the building. After walking a few blocks I felt something wet on my back. Turns out security had opened my water bottle while I was inside (presumably to smell it?) and failed to close it properly. The things inside my bag got soaked. Seems completely unnecessary and unprofessional to open a water bottle when the person is not present.

What a terrible institution this is... My fiancé has a flight for Paris on the 6th of May, very unfortunately he has to transit in the States. Being french and having been to the states several times I never thought it would be a problem.How much I was wrong... I never thought that a country could have such a racist system in place. Although he will not even leave the airport he has to pay 160$ in order to TRY to get a visa that will allow him to just change flight.The problem with the embassy is that they want us to pay now, to then wait 4 to 5 weeks (his flight is in 4 weeks!!!) to get only an appointment to then see if he can get the visa..... A visa needed to transit.... He wont even leave the airport!!! He is going to France!! Not to the States!!Were getting married in June and this is a very hard situation for us. On the phone no one seems to understand and people tell us to wait. But we cant wait.... Or we will lose the flight. Being both young we dont have the money for another ticket and might have to cancel the wedding only because the United States wont let a man get out of a plane to take another one on the same day. Only because he was born in the apparently wrong place. The embassy is not helping at all. We feel like a file, not like humans. I feel like I am talking to a blocked system and not people. No one seems to understand the emergency of the situation.

Alright, I was trying to get the FBI background check INFORMATION paper from the guy at the window. I’d already done it once before without any issue, took about 5 minutes. I tried getting it again today (I’ll remind you it’s just information about the background check not the background check itself) and the guy at the window not only spoke very little English but had no clue what I was talking about. I pointed to where the paper was located ON HIS OWN DESK and he didn’t even bother to look. I was polite the entire time and explained it in both English and Spanish, yet the guy just repeated the same sentence. I’d understand if this were some Mexican government agency but how could someone that speaks a sentence or two of English be working the information desk at the consulate? Doesn’t any sense to me. I honestly wouldn’t even have a problem today if he were only polite too, but he seemed irritated the entire time and outright unwilling to listen.

Very rude! Will not grant visas, all my daughter wanted was for her grandparents to be able to share her special day with her, we had letters from the church to prove the dates but they wouldnt even read them! I am an American and I have the right to invite my family to come visit me why is it to the discretion of someone who wont even give a second glance at people to deny the right for people to visit. Makes me sad to claim my citizenship!

Had a friend try to get a VISA here and was denied. interviewer was very inhuman, like talking to a machine. The reason was not strong enough ties to Mexico and he refused to glance at any documentation proving strong ties. Makes me think theyve already decided before you arrive and they only ask questions for appearance purposes like, Thank you for your processing fees, next transaction... I mean person.

It really sucks that my best friend cant visit me in the United States. You will be asked to bring supporting documents to your interview, but you are instructed not to give any documents to the interviewer without being asked. The process is obscure, and no explanation is given for a denial.The United States government is racist.

Ive been coming to this embassy for 14 years. The Passport People at the windows are wonderful - very well trained, helpful and considerate! They get an A++. But The security guards on the INSIDE of the embassy are some of the rudest....most demanding and infuriating humans Ive encountered. Todays trip to the embassy was no different, in just two hours... FOUR different security guards did their best to ruin our day. While everyone else at the embassy strives to make you feel on American soil, The security guards strive to make you feel like an INMATE at a state penitentiary. Please reassign these individuals to the COLDEST most HOSTILE place on earth.....OR simply teach them it is very possible to maintain control & order WITHOUT conceding manners, education, and respect for others. The U.S. embassy in Mexico City is truly a sad stupid joke. I went there to find out about my status as a U.S. Army Intelligence Veteran and not only is the VA center at the embassy no longer there but the workers were so utterly incompetent I wound up being sent to homeland security that has no connection whatsoever to VA matters.

I would like to speak to a little e person. Some questions like mines need a direction in which to go. I would like know what I need to do, so I can bring my fiance over to the United States.

They are terrible!! I had to call 4 freaking times just to ask a simple question and they transferred me with like 6 different people every time I called and every single person told me I was transferred to the wrong department. They wasnt not even a little polite and this guy who told me he was the attendant #10 OMG! The rudest person I ever had to talk to.

They REALLY need to update their website, especially since its impossible to talk to someone over the phone to ask a simple question.For example, the website says that the passport picture can be taken at the Embassy for a fee. Then you get there and they get all grumpy with you because you dont have your picture.Then, it says that all fees are to be paid at the Embassy in cash or credit card. But again, you get there and apparently they only accept U.S. debit cards (doesnt say that on their website, of course) and you of course find this out after waiting in line for a while and after theyve already accepted your application. My appointment was at 9:15 am, it was 9:40 am by the time I found this out, and they told me I could pay in cash, but Id have to pay by 10:00 am or theyd cancel my request and Id have to make a new appointment.Then I manage to run out of the embassy, go to an ATM, get the money, go through the extremely rude security guards again, all in less than 10 minutes, and when I get back the lady wasnt at her window for around 20 minutes. Then when she got back she said shed do me a favor and accept my application even though it was after 10:00 am, again, like if it was my fault.

I went to an appointment to process a tourist visa for the first time. Arrive with 30 min. in advance and I was able to enter. Have passport in hand and DS-160 format. They do not allow the entry of cell phones (even if they are turned off), and of any smart device. The consul who touched me was very kind. Excellent service.
