Glad we stopped here in the middle of our road trip. It was in a cool location and lots of options. We really liked the chocolate covered strawberry drink and all of the tea options. I wish I had time to look through them all.

I discovered Happy People Coffee in Feb 2020 while house hunting in the Paris, KY, area. It was a cold day, they were open, they were exceptionally friendly, and their coffee really hit the spot. I came back two months later to try their bagged coffee to make at home, and again, they were exceptionally friendly. Julie helped me - shes outstanding - and she helped me pick the types of coffee I might like. I like a medium roast, low acidity, and smooth. She gave me some options, and I walked out with two bags. Ive been hooked ever since.Going to Happy People is like going to your favorite local bar and working your way through their craft beer selection. Because Happy People has so many different types, I try something new every trip in (I ended up getting a house in Lexington, so I drive up to Happy People every three months and stock up on different selections). I used to drink only flavored coffees. Hazelnut, Southern Pecan, some holiday blends. I dont drink any of that anymore because Happy People made me realize that when you start out with a good bean, you dont need to add flavoring. I now understand that the bean brings the flavor, and Happy Peoples beans *bring the flavor*!!!This last trip up (April 2021), I got the Rwanda City and Moka Java. I can tell you with straight up honesty that the Rwanda City is the best coffee I have ever had. I mean, its I have to hand out free cups of this coffee to everyone I know so all people can experience this joy good. Smooth, crisp, a fantastic flavor. I cant believe I made this coffee in my own house. It has a high-end flavor and crispness that Ive only gotten in local, family-owned cafes by people who care about the coffee they serve. Thats the major takeaway here. The folks at Happy People care about the coffee they serve, and they prove it when youre in their shop and when youre at home making the coffee yourself.To the folks at Happy People, thank you. Ive told TONS of people about you and your coffee. Please never stop carrying the Rwanda City. I cant wait to go back and see you again!

Just had lunch that was delivered. Delivery was fast and the delivery driver was very kind. The appltini was AMAZING!! My husband ordered the chicken salad on croissant and was blown away at how delicious it was!! We will definitely be eating here a lot more often.

Amazing Smell! Once you walk through the door you are hit with some amazing smells of fresh coffee! They have so many to choose from and you can get them fresh grounded right there! Very helpful staff to guide you what to get based on what you like.

Julie is fantastic!! We just happened to stop by at this cozy warm and amazingly fragrant coffee shop and had a long conversation with Julie, who was warm friendly and inviting. We had to have their fresh roast coffee and were not disappointed!!

The quality of the beans and coffee is always fantastic, but the past handful of times Ive been in, I have been let down with the specifics of my coffee. Particularly today. My drink had no flavor, neither from the beans or the syrup I requested, and by the time I had realized, I was already too far down the road to come back.

What more can I add to what others have said? Our turkey sandwich was unlike anything my tastebuds have ever experienced. The coffee selection alone would be worth a trip. The place was immaculately clean and the team made us feel right at home. We’ll be back.

So sad I didnt get more pics of this cafe; it has so much personality! I got a kick out of the horse social distancing sign. We enjoyed our beverages (white tea and chai latte). I would love to go back to try their specialty lattes such as the spiced matcha.

Ok if you like coffee at all, you have to stop here! any big coffee company is a joke once you come here. muffins and anything ive eaten is incredible as well. just wish the days i get up at 6 or 7 i could get a cup.

Absolutely amazing.If youre stopping here you will never want Starbucks again- and if you do then you dont deserve the coffee or hospitality that comes from Happy People.Lets start with the customer service; hands down the best you will find at any coffee joint. Not only are they super friendly and not like the fake trained customer service actual real genuine tell me how you ended up here friendly. The type that explains how their drinks will taste different than- the place I use to get matcha green tea from- then make it a million times better; so when you go back to your old place you will immediately regret it and kick yourself for thinking it was acceptable at some point. The kind of friendly that makes special coffee for kids so their parents dont have to allow the real deal. I could go on but to sum it up- they have the good ole small town southern hospitality customer service.Next the coffee I personally treat myself to a Matcha while in shop because they make the best ones, but I always take home a pound of whole bean coffee. They are super knowledgeable on their products and will answer any and every question you have. The coffees are clearly labeled with all their information including acidity which is very important to my household. They also dont overly sweeten their drinks so you can enjoy their coffee and actually feel the benefits from it and not an overly sugary syrup mess. Dont let it fool you they arent to un-sweetened you cant finish your drink I promise. Try it plus if you let them know you were a Starbucks lover they will make it sweeter for you but still wont overpower and youll love the taste of the coffee. Unless overly sweet is your thing I bet they could manage that just not my cup of joe.Finally Im just going to touch base on the retail. They have the cutest storage containers for coffee. They have the prettiest and probably most unique coffee cup section. Their shirts are super comfortable and I love the uniqueness of their logo! Definitely have some good gifts if you are just wanting to shop local I know they have other goodies as well.If you made it this far thank you and I appreciate your time. If you made it here by looking for a quick summary all I can say is check it out for yourself. You wont be disappointed I promise and if you are then Im sorry.

These guys are the best coffee roasters in Central KY. They have about 40 different beans and blends available ato anytime. If theres something you want the crew there will be happy to help you. My Girlfriend and I are happy to drive to Paris to buy their coffee.

Just happened to be driving through and stopped in. So glad we did! No joke - some of the best coffee I’ve ever had! It is surprisingly hard to find full flavor with no bitterness but they did it! I know this is off the beaten path but if you are anywhere close and a coffee lover do yourself a favor and stop in!

Service and food was excellent

Stopped in during a trip to Paris and had a cup of the Highland Grog. It was a great cup of coffee. So good that I stopped again on the way out of town a couple of days later. Great selection of coffees and friendly service.

Great time at this little shop. Everything was made on sight. Coffee beans roasted, salmon smoked, and biscuits homemade right there! Will definitely visit again!

I love the coffee here and the people are very nice. The mocha is the best of all coffee shops in lLexington and Paris...however remember to tell them no syrup. Also the food is tasty and show some creativity and I love that they have yummy caprese as side.I would give them 5 stars but got to dock them for decor and lack of larger size iced drinks. Please get rid of the fast food style tables/chairs and put some comfy chairs and benches and sofas plus put some near the front window so people can sit and see out. Also pretty up the back patio...again comfy seats and throw around some plants.Good luck guys and stay in business!

This is happy spot to get your morning coffee or an anfternoon pick me up! Haven’t tried any of their actual food yet but it always smells good! I’ve tried many of their coffees and so daft I really enjoy the latte and Carmel macchiato! Great staff always willing to answer any questions I have about their coffee ☕️

The man working was very pleasant. However he was the only one working and it got a bit busy so we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for 2 sausage burritos, which had 2 bites of sausage in it and the rest of the burrito was filled with cold pico. Not to mention the gloves he used were latex hospital gloves not proper food prep gloves. The coffee was aslo disappointing, its tasted watered down.

Great Place here in Paris, stopped in for a quick bite and cup of coffee. Coffee was refreshing and the BLT was simply delicious, will definitely be back soon!

Small town Paris, KY has a rare jewel in Happy People Coffee Company. A quainte shop where you eat, drink coffee, and chill. You can buy freshley roasted coffee beans to take home with you, or have them brew your favorite cup for you while you wait. I love HPCC! (Personal tip: Order the Appletini Turkey Sandwich. Your taste buds will thank you.)
