Kirsten was so helpful and professional. In the two alterations appointments I had with her, she helped me choose between two sizes (I brought them both in, and returned the other later), smoothed out the bust, added cups, shortened straps, reinforced the sides, hemmed, bustled (3 point), and steamed the dress. Everything fit on the first try. All her recommendations were spot on, and Im glad I trusted in her expertise vs. doing what I went in thinking I wanted. She also gave me a heads up that I would need to buy a crochet hook for undoing the buttons at the end of the night, which was something I never would have thought of. The bustle was super easy to figure out, and held up well all day. Thank you Kirsten for making this a wonderful experience for me!

I can’t say enough good things about Kirsten and her work. She and I took my original dress and completely redesigned it. She took a cape and turned it into sleeves, added lace to the back and buttons all the way down a big satin skirt. She took what I had in my head, executed it perfectly, and went above and beyond with her own additions. She is so talented, aside from the intricate redesign, my wedding dress fit perfectly and was the perfect length. The redesign we did included extensive, delicate bead work that could have easily been messed up. It took a lot of talent to make my dress come out the way that it did, and she did it all at a very reasonable price. I honestly can’t say enough good things. Take your dress to her whether you need a simple hem and fit or want to do something more intricate, she will make your dress perfect!

The Original Sewing Room saved my life! After a big-chain dress store cancelled my alterations appointment, I was left with less than a week to get my bridesmaid dress altered. I have no complaints about my experience here. Everything from the price to the quality and results are incredible. Worth the drive! I drove 45 mins each way and it was well worth that and more because it was so much more affordable than the other alterations place I got a consultation at. My dress fits me beautifully now. I absolutely adored my experience at The Original Sewing room! I used them for my bridal dress alterations for my October 2020 Wedding. She was so flexible with my schedule (I work in a hospital and was going crazy with all the COVID crisis) and managed to get me in with plenty of time to spare for my wedding. I had custom sleeves done and basic alterations for the fitting. The work was beautiful and she did it in a very timley fashion. They did a FABULOUS JOB, in taking a size 12 wedding dress with a train... and fitting to to my Daughter who is a size 5. The sleeveless high necked dress, was given flawless shoulder build out to accommodate shear sleeves, the train taken off so she could twirl in the full skirt, and given a soft sweetheart neck line. They let me add the lace overlay, so that as a mom... I could add my extra personalized touches. The results were stunning.

So amazing! perfect customer service! Kirsten is so wonderful, I highly recommend her for wedding dress alterations. I loved that she was okay with text communication as well, that was very convenient for me. I bought my dress from Davids Bridal but wanted a custom back done, explaining exactly what I wanted was a breeze! All I did was bring her the extra fabric that was needed to do the job. She really took the time to make sure it was perfect while making it come to life - it was JUST like I had imagined! No other alterations shops I visited could understand, or get on board with what I wanted, like Kirsten did. Kirsten is absolutely WONDERFUL. I received my bridesmaid dress three weeks before the wedding and it was about 3 inches too short and that was without shoes on!! Kirsten responded to me right away and was amazing through the whole experience. She put an entire new skirt on my dress without question and got it to me before the ceremony.
