I needed a battery replaced in an older Mac laptop.Restore Computer Repair of Baltimore replaced my battery quickly for one-third of the price I had been quoted at a different major tech company (a difference of almost $200.)They called me in the day the battery arrived and had my laptop ready for pickup within 2 hours after I had dropped it off.I have been using my laptop for over a week now and the battery runs perfectly. I will definitely visit Restore Computer Repair first if I ever have another computer issue I need resolved.

I came in for a cleaning of my laptop and got so much more. Not only did they clean it, the updated my BIOS as well as reinstalled my GPU drivers. They also replaced the thermal paste with liquid metal for a good price. The price is worth the quality of repair and they will treat your computer as if it were theirs. I will always go back to them if I have any problems with any of my devices. I recommend them to all who are deciding on a place to repair their devices.

I had a charger tip broke off in my iPhone. I called around and got some outrageous cost quotes. This place had the best. I also inquired about other services as I’ve needed to find a quality electronics repair go to. I have definitely found it and only wish I had years before. I brought my iPhone here to get the screen replaced and they replaced it with an authentic apple screen, I love that they did this because most places put a cheap screen in there that doesn’t work as well and usually has issues down the road. Before i decided to bring my laptop here i requested quotes from 3 other places. My laptop had a broken charger port. I already knew because of the model laptop i had i would have to replace the entire motherboard or trust a place to desolder the charging port from the motherboard and solder a new one in. The first two quotes i got back from the other two shops told me that i would need a new mother motherboard and it would cost me anywhere from $300 to $600. Not even telling me of the other option i already knew. After reading the reviews for this place and speaking with brian on the phone i decided i was going to come here. maybe 6 days go by and they not only fixed the problem at a reasonable price ( $99 ). They also completely cleaned my laptop. I picked it up looking brand new. I could not be any more happier. This is a trustworthy business and they are professionals. Had my surface pro 4 for 6 months only to tell me it caught on fire in the shop and didnt give me anything in return. He tried to give me a $400 version 4gb ram 64gb but I didnt take because I HAD the top of the line 16gb and upgraded memory to 2tb

Took my sons laptop here and was not disappointed. The young man at the counter was very informative, very polite. After a few days they called me and told me exactly what needed to be replaced, told me prices. Within a week my kid had his laptop back working like new and I knew how much . no hidden fees, no bs. My husband has a mobile tool business and needs his computer in order to do business. With out it we do not earn a paycheck. The owner has gone so far and above what any other business would have done to keep us on the road, we cant thank him enough. He worked long past store hours on a weekend and on an evening just to make sure we could have our equipment back up and running. I am sure this took away precious time from his family. You cannot put a price on this kind of service.

UPDATE *REVISE 6/17/2020* They got back to me 6/12 and i was surprised that they got my laptop sorted out. Was able to pick it up the day after and they didnt even charge me for my remaining balance and additional cost for repairs. I would highly recommend that you go look for Sam himself with any business and repairs you would need from this place. Very down to earth and humble to converse with.***People there are rude. Doesn’t give you any updates even if you beg them to call them for any updates. You have to keep on calling then but they will give you vague answers. I never got my laptop back even before the lockdown happened. Still don’t have it and no call backs from them. Save yourself the stress and find a better place for repair.

I found the price for service a bit high but I dont know the going rate. Perhaps there were other options if I had left the computer there. But already out $70 I wasnt going to get charged even more considering the state and age of the computer.The technician seemed distracted and bored and was talking on the phone while l was being charged. Another technician came out from the back and could not have been more helpful! He quickly took a look and even installed some software and gave me some hintsSo all I can say is be your own judge since I didnt have further work done. Bring $70 though!

I upgraded the case on my gaming rig to something that could fit a bigger /better cooling system. It wouldnt turn on and brought it here.The shop diagnosed my PC and discovered I installed my power supply incorrectly and it needed to be replaced. Luckily I had a back up and they installed it and modded my case to fit the larger PS.It works better than I brought it in and their fees are very fair.Only reason its 4 stars is because it took longer than I would have liked. However, I still recommend this place if you are local.

They never even opened my phone, I came to pick it up about a month after I dropped it off initially. No progress was made, not even a diagnostic. Although I got my money back, I guess that’s a win.

This place has the best rates around. The staff is very knowledgeable about computers and how to fix them. I like the fact that they have rush service. The technician Brian is very polite and helpful and knows what hes talking about. The owner Sam really takes his time to explain to you whats wrong with your computer and what he did to fix it. Amazing costumer service. After my mom incorrectly shut off my computer it would not turn on. but after 20 minus on the phone with SAM my computer was working like new again. I can not thank these guys enough for saving my home built 3,000 dollar computer. Even thou i am in Michigan and they are in Maryland the distance is not a problem for them. they can easily walk you thru it over the phone.

Sam fixed my PC, and it was not a simple issue (liquid cooling system and hoses were involved...a job for the professionals). Sam was very easy to work with about everything.The cost was very low compared to other places Ive been, the service was perfection. I wish all businesses were this easy to work with. If i could give 0 stars I would. Been to this place twice. First time was a couple years ago and they were unable to resolve my problem or provide and guidance whatsoever. Most recently, I called regarding a laptop screen repair. The guy who answered the phone, Brian I believe, told me the cost of the screen and the repair. When billed for the service (ordering the screen), the price was 3 times as much as I was quoted. I immediately called back to find out what was going on and why I was being charged so much. I was then told that the price was correct and that I heard wrong. I then asked for a refund since there was no way I was paying that much for a laptop screen when I could just buy a whole new laptop. I was then handed off to Sam who proceeded to lecture me about refunds and that his employee did nothing wrong. Talk about unprofessional. I dont give two $&#%s about you losing a couple dollars for a refund, especially when your employee fails to quote the correct price. Even if I did hear wrong on the phone, im still entitled to a refund if I want it. You are running a retail/service business. Businesses have expenses and costs. Factor that into your budget accordingly. I dont need to have a lecture about how this hurts your business. Learn how to act professional.

Ive been taking my computer repair issues here for almost 10 years now, and theyve always gone above and beyond what Ive asked them to do, and at very reasonable prices. Ive been meaning forever to write a good write-up for them. Trust me, the tech Sam is very passionate about what he does, and as a result, hes the best source of computer repair (and honestly any electronic or software repair) that Ive come across. He always works tirelessly to fix whatever problem I bring to him and half the time doesnt even charge me, although I probably shouldnt say that on here lol. The only brick and mortar computer repair shop that Ive found that actually has people answer the phone. I brought them an older external hard drive. They extracted the information for me. 18 years of photo files, etc. They did such a great job, I also brought in my PC which I was having issues with. They were able to fix that too. Totally recommend them!

My experience was great. It was hard to spot at first riding down Harford Road, however, as soon as I walked in the gentleman was kind and approachable. The prices are explained straight forward and they werent that high either. Even the woman on the phone who called me to pick up my computer was kind. I came to pick up my computer and the kind gentleman met me at the desk and explained everything that was wrong with my laptop plus anything extra I could do to prolong my laptops life. They even replaced the y key on my keyboard without me asking. That to me was a big deal because he hadnt mentioned it and they did it without having too. Overall like I said great experience and a place I highly recommend.

Nice folks. Their price for replacing a broken charging port was at low end of prices I found after checking a few places. Work was completely quickly. I would return here if other computer repair needs arise.

My 3 year old niece toppled a slight amount of coffee directly into my MacBooks motherboard, the screen flickered, I turned it off asap. My first thought: Ahhhhhhhhh! I do NOT have 1500 dollars for a new machine! Second thought: get it to Apple. So I paid 119 dollars to send my computer to an Apple tech in Texas for them to quote me... 1500 dollars to repair it. Now, I know what youre thinking, as I thought it too thats the price of a new computer! So I had them send it back with out touching it. I did a quick search of experts in the area and Restore popped up with flying colors. I paid a fraction of what Apple quoted me and I will be telling everyone I know to visit these guys/ gals at Restore. A plus customer service and turn around time. I was able to begin my next class without a hitch.

Words fail me in my praise for Sam and Restore Computer Repair. They are miracle workers. I was becoming increasingly more frantic while trying find someone to save my companys server computer. Phone support from our system provider was useless; Geek Squad should be embarrassed they were so useless; one call after another was only increasing my angst as I was told we can maybe retrieve your photos... And then I called Restore. Sam was brilliant, and the first person in two days that gave me any reason for hope. I took my broken computer, my really really broken computer, literally in pieces, to his shop where I was shocked to find he only wanted to charge $99. I think Geek Squad wanted $50 just to answer the phone. A day and a half later, after he had to drive around to find rare (old) parts, Sam was able to rebuild my computer using a new mother board, then re-sync the three hard-drives, and finally bring my computer back to life. When I asked him how much more all this extra work, this miracle, would cost me, he gently explained to me what a flat rate was and that it was still $99. I then asked if he could come to my shop and install it. He did. He saved my business.I defy you to use this gentlemans services, and not feel like you should pay more. Was told repair work would only take 5 days but it took 3 weeks. Was told brand new top was put on my laptop but the new top had dents all over it including a cracked hinge so I dont know how it was new. Didnt notice the broken hinge until I got home but I dont want to bother taking my laptop back incase it takes another 3 weeks to fix that or they mess something else up. I have taken my laptop here before for another problem which was fixed but this second time I am very unsatisfied with the work done; a broken hinge should not be considered new.

I called to ask about packaging for a hard drive return and the guy just gave me a box with packing materials to send the hard drive back...for free! Not sure if hell always do that, but I sure appreciated it.

Had a problem with a broken AC Adapter on my Toshiba laptop, Called several stores but got no return call back. Emailed Sam before they opened at 9:00 a.m. and got a email back in 10 minutes with a price and time frame. Dropped computer off at 10:00 a.m. and by 1:00 p.m. was being called that my computer was fixed and ready for pick up.Great communication, Fairly priced, and fantastic response.Would highly recommend them for any computer repair and will definately be calling them if I have an issue in the future.

Fantastic! Restore Computer Repair created a customer for life!About a month ago I spilled a (full) drink on my laptop. Surprisingly, the laptop continued to work but the battery was done - I was received a message that the battery is not detected. The laptop would only work if the AC adapter was plugged in. I wasnt sure what to do so I continued to use the laptop plugged in and tried different things that I heard from IT professionals and read on the Internet... putting the laptop on top of a refrigerator for two days, uninstall/reinstall the battery. After a month of doing this on and off... I finally broke down and bought a new replacement battery. I put the battery in and was getting the same message - battery not detected.I finally decided that it was time to get it fixed - I didnt want to risk the laptop completely shutting down on me. I was really torn with where to bring it... do I bring it to Geek Squad, call HP Support ($99 phone call), or go with a local shop? I started doing some research online and called two local places.I talked to Better Byte... they basically told me that I was screwed (not in those words) and there was nothing they could do.I called Restore Computer Repair but they werent open yet so I e-mailed them and had a conversation with the owner, Sam. He told me to bring it in and it could take 3-4 days and that they specialize in these types of repairs. $99 flat fee for labor. I went in that morning and did the upgrade of an additional $75 for the rush fee to have it diagnosed that day... Im kind of attached to my laptop and work from home as a marketing/website consultant so being without the laptop for 3-4 days wasnt the best option for me. Sam called me that afternoon to let me know that he took the laptop apart and found some corrosion from the spilled drink, scrubbed it down, put in the new battery because the old battery was shot.... and the new battery was working. It was on a 0% charge so he said he would call back in a couple of hours and let me know if it held a charge. He called that evening and let me know it worked and I could come and pick it up! :)From the e-mail conversation with him, to the customer service I got upon arrival at his store from an associate Kyle to the excellent communication along the way via phone calls... I am extremely satisfied with my service and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sam and Restore Computer Repair.I know that if I ever come across an issue in the future with our laptops or cell phones... Straightforward, honest repair.The hard drive died on my 2011 iMac (sadface). I was just about to order an expensive repair kit to install a new drive on my own (iMacs require special equipment to get open), when a friend recommended Restore. Im really thankful I took it them. Parts and labor cost less than half of what the equipment would have cost for a self-repair.I decided to get a solid state drive. The guy at Restore quoted me a flat labor fee and actually talked me out of an upsell on a higher priced SSD, explaining that it would be better to just get an external drive for data storage. Thats class.The repair took longer than expected. That might normally have sucked, but they explained to me in direct, non-condescending terms what the issue was, and why it was taking longer (honestly, thats all I ask for--just let me know why theres a good reason its taking a while). Even though the repair was tougher than anticipated, the original, reasonable labor estimate stood.

Wouldn’t recommend this place. The prices may be the “lowest,” but my computer is in worse shape than it was before. The part replaced was not the same and the computer itself was poorly put back together. You get what you pay for.
