Great place to find old books or books about Los Angeles and its history. I believe its the oldest bookstore in CA, but I could be wrong. Fun place to browse for a while. When youre done browsing, buy something and keep this place in business!

I very humbly tried selling my first edition books to whitmore .....he approach the possible business proposal with a very cocky attitude I went along with it.He had his assistant with him, showing-off in a modest way trying not to make it known.After reviewing my books which were only a few...... he said that my books were fake my dustjackets were fake and that he didnt deal with fake things.....Wow, I thought to my self and than laughed.Ive been a collector of antique books and first editions, I know the industry very well, as buyer and seller and this goofy guy tells me my books are fake...not a very knowledgeable person of the industry.I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this book store to anyone.....Not because he didnt buy my books, but because of the way he approach me. All this time I thought the foundation of any small business was customer service, well this book store has a long way to go.
