Jameson Brown is such an awesome, local coffee spot in Pasadena, south one block of the 210 Allen exit. I highly recommend supporting them by stopping by, picking something up, and or using their indoor and outdoor seating. It’s great to see groups of 2-3 gather to meet and chat as well as others working or reading. Per the name and what you’ll see inside to the back left of the entrance, they roast their own beans. They’ve got some great specials and regulars on their menu. For example, some regulars are the Lavender Breve and Vienna Latte, alongside the basic/foundational coffee and espresso drinks. Similarly, the pastries are really tasty! The atmosphere is also really great, with hanging lights above the whole space and overall just a great, positive energy from the staff as well as other patrons. Not everyone (patrons) are always wearing masks at their table while not eating or drinking, despite small signs in each table that say otherwise, but the tables are more spread out than they were pre-covid. I’m really glad this place is still rocking. Come see for yourself and tell your friends!
This is my favorite place for coffeeIve been going to this place for yearsstaff is awesome .I recommend snowball on ice coffee drink
Wonderful rustic café in Pasadena. The perfect place to come and read a book while the folks at Honda work on your car. Bought a pound of their coffee as well and it’s excellent freshly ground.
I’ve never had a Pumpkin Latte quite like this! Rich flavor that harmonizes nicely with the coffee rather than being overpowered by pumpkin syrup, which is what I feel often happens in pumpkin lattes. Also tried the coconut latte and would suggest that if you like sweeter drinks, again the coconut and coffee flavor balanced nicely rather than one over powering another. Friendly staff and adorable old factory vibes. They were roasting coffee throughout my brief visit and the process was fun to watch and smelled fantastic.
We visited Pasadena and made many coffee stops. This place is the best! The Mayan Mocha is so good. Rich, bold and full of that spicy chocolate. Seriously, Go Here!
Normally it’s a 5 star experience but it was less than expected service and effort … who doesn’t toast up a bagel or heat up a chocolate Croissant? This is a great place but it was just one of those days I guess… I still love this place
Mediocre. :( I was super excited to try them out but the drip coffee hardly had any flavor and I ordered dark roast. It was watery. I also ordered pumpkin spice cake and it was pretty bland too. I wouldnt say to stay away lol but definitely not the cup of coffee I would crave or recommend.
A neat little coffee shop in Pasadena right off Allen exit of the 210 freeway. Great coffee here. My son Introduced me to this place. This place has a lot of characters. It has all the cool antique coffee making machines. The coffee is much better than Starbucks as my son claimed. I guess it’s not bad. They do have some unique blends. Mayan Mocha is great. The aroma is special and I enjoyed very much. My wife got a lavender tea latte. The lavender fragrance is very strong on the tea. My wife loves it.The service was excellent and the made the coffee very fast. It only took them 5 minutes to get both the tea and coffee ready.Parking is easy as there’re a lot of street parkings.
The best coffee!! Ever!! Jameson Brown was created with love and the desire of mastering the best cup of coffee. They still have roasting down to a science. I bought a pound of Campfire Blend. Absolutely perfectly delicious. Thank you Jameson Brown!!!!
Its a fantastic place to work in Pasadena. I love the beverages since they have a unique flavor. You will find lots of people working, so the environment is inspiring to get things done. The only thing that is a bit hard to get is a plug. I really hope they can increase the number of plugs. Besides that, I love this place I will continue coming and enjoying their products. I have to recognize that the hot chocolate is a wise choice.
Love this coffee . Always delivers regarding quality and service ! Great coffee and vide are real and chill.
This place was on my Yelp radar for quite a while so I thought Id finally give it a try as I was in the neighborhood. When you drive by it, you wouldnt recognize it unless you were specifically looking for the sign. Parking is a tad bit difficult as they do not have their own parking garage.But....As soon as you walk in, the smell of roasted coffee fills the air and it is very pleasant... at least for me!They have mobile pay which is a must and their latte speaks for itself.
Great & fast service. I grab my coffee beans here! Got Goji & sweet spot!
Great service, great drinks and I always love the beans I get here!
I tried many coffee roasters beans, and so far Jameson Browns medium roasted Guatemalan beans are my favorite! The employee there asked me what kind of coffee I like and she recommended the perfect beans for me. The beans are fresh and still tastes good and fresh after two weeks. I tried Jones Coffee but its coffee didnt taste fresh. The ground beans didnt even bloom although they were roasted few days ago.
I always love coming here to get some work done. My favorite drink on the menu so far is the orange blossom latte, which is not pictured in this review but here’s one of my delicious jalapeño cheddar bagel. Usually seating and tables here start getting full around 10:30am. The shop doesn’t have a private parking lot, but there’s tons of street parking available!
Great location, excellent coffee and beans to take home. Staff was kind and helpful as always.
Great coffee spot. Lots of different and unique drinks. The staff was friendly and they have some fresh made coffee. They also sell their coffee beans if you want. There’s a lot of space for seating. Parking can be tough sometimes. Street parking can get a little packed but it’s surrounded by streets so you would just have to walk a little further.
Fantastic location, staff, and products. Quite easily the new morning coffee local!
Nice spot with a great coffee and tea selection. Decent pastry selection but nothing else in the line of food so come here if you just want coffee/tea and maybe a light bite. Staff friendly and interior has interesting decor. Also seats outside but undercover. Music a little loud at times which I think works against the vibe a bit.
Great place to get a locally roasted coffee. I tried their rice horchata latte and it was delicious
Branch away from the normal chains to enjoy delicious coffee made with heart
Cosy place, good coffee
I have been in search for a good coffee roaster in Pasadena. Yelp search led me to this place! So glad it did! It was an amazing timing there and I enjoyed a lot.
Great local coffee shop. Best coffee in Pasadena!
The best coffee anywhere around. The lavender latte and the mocha are stellar, and they always have wonderful baked goods. Kind staff and excellent service, too!
Finally! I have been consuming whole bean coffee for YEARS, and I mean years😉 Jameson Brown is the best. It was well worth my drive from work (completed night shift duty), in San Pedro, Ca. to Pasadena, Calif. Then home on the Westside. The coffee was fresh and the customer service was spot on. Ill gladly make a trip to Jameson Brown every two weeks. Yummy!
Excellent local roast. They really know their coffee. And if you get a speciality drink, buckle up! Flavors so real, nothing blase or artificial here.
Great coffee and tea options along with a variety of baked goods (including gluten free). Ample seating both inside and out. Theyve refreshed the decor on the inside and made it more open providing a lot more space. The staff is always so friendly, they have music playing in the background making it the perfect place to stay a while and enjoy the coffeehouse ambiance. It can get pretty crowded so plan your visit accordingly as there is very little street parking.
The best coffee. My personal favorite is the Snowball with Almond milk. Super delicious!!!I have been coming here since I was a kid in middle school and the staff has always been wonderful to my family and I. The manager especially is sweet and hard working as well.Nothing but love for the Jameson Brown Employees.
Ive had this place saved on my list for a while now and actually made it in finally. although we did practically run in about 5-10 minutes before closing they didnt seem to mind. i ordered a black cold brew and it was exactly what youd expect. we also ordered another flavored iced coffee which was a bit too sweet. we shouldve given it a quick stop before leaving but now we know for next time to double check, just in case. other than that, it was great!
Great local coffeehouse. Love the location and interior, and well roasted beans to purchase.
Lovely atmosphere, tasty, wonderful artisanal choices, and so glad to be drinking at Jamesons again.
Fast service delicious coffee.
I love the roasted beans. Nice and friendly staff.
Love this place, hate the short business hours, I love afternoon coffee
Love the coffee the service was pretty Cashier with great people that make the coffee were slow today
The hubs insisted on good coffee so I found this place and let me tell you, Google did not disappoint. Got the chili mocha and a white mocha at the rec of the cashier and they were both awesome. I didnt think I would like the chili mocha but it was surprisingly lit. The subtle heat worked real well with the coffee and the chocolate. Both drinks were crafted with precision and I drank each mouthful with delight. The different components made for a complex tasting experience. We will be back again next time we are in town.
Would have been nice if there was seats outside since outdoors dining was pissible
I love love love this place! Its also only a few blocks from my apartment, which is so nice. The magicians running the place really understand balance in their flavors, its magical. Everything tastes like the perfect amount. I couldnt be happier with Jameson Brown.I work with a bunch of coffee lovers and the grounds from this place are our favorite. This is a perfect place to pick up a nice gift for a coffee lover, their little cute black bags with the golden clip are well put together. Thanks again!
Super cute and convenient to where I live! First small subtle coffee shop along west side. Nice addition to the street! Definitely will come here every time I need a coffee run! Wish they could sell breakfast sandwiches and small snacks aside from a few baked goods
Today was my first time trying the snowball latte and a apple crisp pastry, let me tell y’all this was The freshest coffee I have ever tasted in my life it’s well balanced great taste will be coming back again woot woot!! The staff was very friendly in my opinion this is a 6.0 cafe place
I love the coffee and baking goodies available. The coffee and tea choices are varied but I stick with the drip coffee. The large issue is that the available parking is terribly deficient. So plan street parking or get there early. Or just walk... 😂
Still the best coffee and cold brew Ive come across in my deliveries from Temecula to Ventura.I ordered a cold brew and cinnamon maple coffee cake. The coffee cake was pretty big and very well sharable. Both were EXCELLENT.Looks like they recently remodeled the place and expanded the interior seating area. There is acually a coffee bar inside now. Kind of groovy.I was there at lunch time and it was packed AND very noisy inside. To noisy for me.Ill take it to go please.
Vibe: Working Cafe. A very nice place to work with a cup of very strong coffee. The caffeine in most of their drinks is very well flavored and well mixed but extremely strong, so be very specific about your coffee levels. If you like dark/ strong Chocolate- GET THE CHOCOLATE Drink HERE- get it! It’s so strong it borders on coffee levels of caffeine and it satisfies the cravings. There is no savory of ‘real’ food here, you will only find sweets with a lot of powdered sugar.
I love everything about Jameson Brown. first of all they roast their own coffee and know how to make a good cappuccino. Their staff is super friendly and reinforce the indie vibe here. Its a great place to come and work. Youll see dozens of people doing it here. No weirdos or losers just a lot of college kids, academics, remote workers and other random fun people.
Ive been driving by this place on the way to work for a few years. The only thing Im sad about is waiting so long before trying them. They make the perfect iced latte!!! Ive been to a lot of coffee houses all over California and these guys kill it. Strongly recommend. Parking sucks, but worth the little walk.
Wish I couldve visited pre pandemic, the space is nice and beautiful. But their coffee is amazing!
Amazing coffee, fresh roasted on premises
They have the best coffee in Pasadena, period. Better than Philz, Ambrose, Jones, Starb (obv), Blue Bottle and Intelligentsia and many others.
Very nice experience ♡
I first ordered a chia latte over ice . It was awful way too spicy cinnamony. So I returned it and got the pumpkin latte again I didnt care for it all. They were both just way overkill on the spices. And the guy that made the 2 nd drink was pretty rude. I wonder if he made it bad on purpose. Anyways I dont reccomend this place at all.
I love that everyone was cleaning! Eager to help employees taking every safety precaution.Coffee beans were of good quality, and drinks prepared were also well made.
I love this place. Theyve recently remodeled, so it looks better than ever! Its usually crowded with people on their laptops, its a good place to work. They make an amazing Vienna latte, which is what Ill usually order. It has honey and cinnamon, but isnt too sweet. Love the lavender breve also if Im in the mood. So delicious! Sign up for their emails, they send some good coupons!
This place has a very cool vibe and their coffee will knock your socks off. Its so rich and strong. The perfect wake up call when you need that morning jolt.
Excellent espresso here. Easy to order and go. They roast their own beans.
Environment is pretty awesome and open with a good home-like feeling from the exposed brick and fireplace. It was my first time going here and I had the cold brew which was a bit disappointing. The flavor was very very mild and not as strong as I was hoping from a cold brew. Almost tasted too watered down. I still want to come back and get their other options though.
An interesting coffee shop with cool staff. Drip coffee is pretty good. Highly recommend getting a dark roast coffee with their purple brownie. Its not an actual brownie made with chocolate, its a vegetarian (Vegan?) brownie, but its got all the taste of a chocolate brownie made with love.
Today was my first time stopping by this place. Great place to relax and enjoy and iced mocha latte. I introduced myself to Becca, who took my order, and Holly who prepared my drink, and last but not least Nick, whos the man behind the coffee roasting. Good group of people. I will be back sometime in the near future, to visit this place.
Ive driven by this place for so many years and finally had the chance to try it out. Very chill ambience, comfortable chairs and spacious interior. Coffee is mad strong yall, I was focused and caffinated for hours. Reasonable price and friendly service.
Gotta love this place the coffee has a good taste and all the pastries are delicious, Friendly staff tops it all
Great place excellent coffee
The Lavender Vanilla Breve was amazing! The cold brew was strong and on point, added a little simple syrup and half & half and BOOM! Delicious! They had a variety of tasty looking baked goods but I had just eaten lunch so I only got drinks. Clean place. Friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop in if youre interested.
Great service. Great food.
I was worried the snowball (coconut with white chocolate) would be too much coconut and too much white chocolate, but I ordered it at half sweetness, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was just what I had wanted. Only street parking, didnt see their bathrooms, plenty of seating though it was all packed on a Saturday morning. Long line goes by fast because cashiers are efficient. Be sure to speak up though if youre ordering a pastry or the cashier may not hear.
This is a good place for work while taking a sip of coffee. The beans were great and the staffs were very friendly. They have this great accommodation. The place was clean and cozy.
This place is truly the best.
Best coffee place around in Pasadena. They roast their own beans and the quality is without compare. Love the Rose City blend, and I highly recommend that you try this. Just the right notes with a nice Coco finish. Ive always had luck getting exactly what I needed by talking with the staff. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. If youre in the area it is definitely worth stopping in. Street parking can sometimes be a problem. The inside is nice and the customers are friendly. Great experience!
Ive been aware of this little place since 2010 because of my time in school and try to stop by when Im in the area. They offer unique coffee expressions that are pretty good for everyone. My wife is vegan, anti-caffeine and anti-sugar and she found a pretty awesome drink, the Vienna Latte, that she really enjoyed. Definitely try something here that you cant find at the chain stores.
This place is an absolute treat. Their cold brew is the best! They are always changing up the beans used for the cold brew too, it’s fun to taste the differences between batches. They also make really good Americanos, iced or hot. There is also a nice selection of muffins, scones and other breakfast snacks, just ask, and they can heat them up for you. They do not have a public parking lot, but main street and side street parking is always easy to find.
Wow nice and clean well organized not that crowded and my order was in few seconds like if they were waiting for meThe Croissant was soft and Tasty mycoffeAmericano Full Flavor. Please Go there and you ll leave completly satisfied
Usually fabulous, especially the vanilla lavender brevé, but I forgot theyre closed on Mondays. 😪
Great Coffee. By far my favorite. Try the Mayan Mocha. They also have the best whole bean coffe. Street parking only. Friendly staff.
Great local roasters, literally down the street from where I lived in Pasadena for 10 years. They have an amazing variety of great beans in barrels for easy viewing and access. Plenty of seating when its not packed, and wide menu of items. Anyone is willing to talk about coffee, roasting process, how to make latte art and more! Friendly people and great coffee.
Adorable place! Long line went by quickly as the cashier was efficient, but friendly. Pastry and mocha were both delicious. They messed up my drink, but let me keep the wrong drink (which I took home to my mother) and made me a new correct one.
Best coffee joint in Pasadena. Barrels of a variety of coffee beans to choose from. You can buy by the pound. Unique latte flavors like horchata and Mayan. Nice place to meet up with friends, a coffee date and studying.
Three words: Lavender Vanilla Breve. So so good. If its your first time, thats the drink to try! I love this place because it feels like a local neighborhood coffee shop -- the kind you hang out in to study or maybe walk over to to meet a friend. Its very low key, and they sometimes even have live music. And their drinks are delicious and made with love :)
This review is based on the coffee beans that they sell. They have a good variety of coffee beans. They store the beans in large open containers that is exposed to the air which takes away from the flavor.
I love this place. My only complaint is it can be way too busy to find parking. Fortunately, I am not able to get anywhere easily in the mornings. It is a push just to get to a doctors appointment which is way more important to me. The service people are very nice and have even carried my purchases to the car and they always bring my cup if I need to drink it here so I am not so tired. It is an excellent pick me up. The only improvement they could do would be to use organic milks. And all their snacks I have had are fresh and delicious!
