I’m pretty sure this place saved me tonight. I get eaten by mosquitoes everywhere I go. All the rain lately, when the sun started going down the bugs were out in full force. They had bug spray for me and saved the day. Great course! Always so friendly and helpful. When someone is playing slow they always jump in and help get it all moving again. I couldn’t ask for a better place!! Seriously thanks for the bug spray!

Super solid course for the money! Some fairly easy holes and then some really challenging holes. Layout is good, pace of play was solid, and overall one of my favorite courses I have played locally under 40 dollars for 18 and a cart. Staff was very friendly as well I would recommend this course to anyone of any skill level!

Really a 3.5, but I will be back. First time I played there. I love the course. I love the challenging hazards and deceiving greens. I also loved the golf cart! I havent been in a cart with that much power in 20 years! For the money, I didnt expect perfection. But the greens were shaggy and the tee boxes werent level. The bathroom was pretty gross. Also, the scorecard was cheap. You couldnt really tell where there was water...which I found often! Knowing the course is a huge advantage. Lots of temptation off the tee, or the approach, but rarely rewarded.

First time to ever play this course yesterday, Starting off the staff was friendly and welcoming and pricing for golf was great (although Ive never been served 4 canned drinks in a plastic bag with ice thrown in it when theres coolers on the bar empty). First hole off the tee and up the fairway found a mud hole, thought it was odd but hey weve had a bunch of rain in the last couple days so onward I pressed. Nope found them all over the course, next to the cart path (which are terrible), short of the greens even in some cases. Not particularly impressed by having to layup on each drive since theres a creek or water hazard at the 240-260 range, either be im the air at 250 and beyond or spend time attempting to find your ball in the water or edge of the tall grass. Greens are nice and play well, challenging slopes as well as nicely tucked into the scenery which makes play a refreshing challenge. Long fairways with plenty of hidden hazards not viewable from the tee box, (nice when you have a phone app to consult). Overall not overly impressed but worth the play at least once, Ill give a honest second chance maybe the mud puddles are dried up by then, but Im guessing the cart path isnt any attention soon.

Never been here. Course was in fair condition. Been playing golf since I was 4 and the cart paths were in the worst condition ive ever seen playing this sport. Youll hurt the next day just from riding in the golf cart. Aerated greens but nothing you can do about that. Never been here so I didnt know the lay out and the layout isnt on the scorecard so i went in the water/creek 2 different times not knowing it was there to wreck potentially the best round ive ever shot. They were trying to repair the tee boxes with hay which is bizarre. 4 stars because Im not mean. Wont come back but if you dont play a lot you probably wont think its too bad.

Super friendly staff. Cart paths and many fairways are very rough. That being said, the course is very challenging. You must keep your ball in the fairway or you will find yourself behind/underneath a tree, and youll have to take your medicine with a punch out shot. Greens are very receptive and in great shape. I would have loved to played this course in its heyday. Now, its a rough cut diamond.

I have played here quite a bit in the past. It’s never been a very nice course but it’s always been reasonably priced to play some practice rounds and work on my game. I’ve had some strange encounters there such as rude clubhouse attendants, slow play, etc. My most recent experience was the last straw.I was playing 9 holes and I went off on 10. No one in front or behind, just a leisurely round. I caught up to a group of 5 older men after the first few holes. I figured since I was playing alone they would let me play through considering they were about a hole and a half behind the group of 2 in front of them. I was wrong. I was constantly standing there on the tee box watching them tee off and they had zero regard for me and no interest in keeping up their pace. 6 holes of standing around waiting. So I finally get to 18. They’re moving to the green so I tee off. As I’m driving up 18, I see another man standing in the middle of the fairway near the green hitting drives back towards the tee box. As I get closer, he is still teeing balls up and hitting them towards me. I’m inside of 100 yards driving directly at him and he tees up another and sends it directly over top of me.Once I got up there I asked him what in the world he was doing. He said he was warming up for his league. BY HITTING BALLS ON A HOLE PEOPLE WERE PLAYING. I was stunned by this. He said he does it all the time.Don’t waste your money at this dump. No management or concern for players time or money. A bunch of good old boys who don’t want any outsiders around. Just an absolute joke of a course.

I have played here in the past and was always happy to play here. Decent course with low $30s cost. Just played the past week and I have to say the course needs some MAJOR attention. Fairways are in terrible condition. Very patchy if not mostly dead grass and being like that from beginning to end. Blue tee boxes are a absolute joke. Multiple fairways have ground under repair. Greens and sands are in decent condition. Pace of play was alright we finished a round just at 5 hours. Agree with other reviews on cart paths...need a 4x4 not a golf cart. Really hope Willow Run fixes issues.

Pretty nice course. The cart paths could use major attention but for 33 bucks to ride 18 I can live with it. However I just played it for the 1st time and the traffic was a full blown free for all. I called in for a tee time which I was told I had to have. While checking in the older fella at the counter checked in a twosome with a tee time almost an hour later and told them to go ahead and tee off. Also a group of walk ins with no tee time right before me he told to go ahead and tee off. There was a SIX playing two ahead of us teeing of multiple balls each. No course ranger, no course management. Would like to go back but absolutely the worst experience golfing ever. The intent of this is to communicate that if you want a nice golf course it needs to be managed like one. Would like to play it again but not with the players packed in like sardines.

A classic Jack Kidwell golf course, Willow Run makes you use good course strategy to score well. Its signature hole is a par 4 that requires a well placed shot in the fairway to reach a small green guarded by a creek. Short holes have small, well guarded greens; longer holes have bigger greens. The tees, fairways, and greens are well maintained. This course is fun and wont beat you up. The green fees are very reasonably priced.

Review №30

In my 45+ years of playing golf I have played this course probably 30-40 times and I have never liked it. Creeks you cant see but can drive into, trees in the middle of fairways, slowish greens... and Ive never scored well. Its really not a bad public course. The price is right and its usually in good condition, unless its been raining. The course does not drain well. The greens are rarely fast but never intolerably slow and almost always well kept. Its far from terrible and far from great, worth playing at least once.

Great course! Great condition, very challenging, and the greens are decent. The only reason for 4 stars is because there are no hole pictures on the scorecard or on the tee box hole signage. As a new patron, I lost a couple of balls in fields due to aiming incorrectly, not knowing the layout of the holes. Should have used an app. My bad.

Very well tangent care of course. From grass to bunkers and trees for the price you pay here you get an exceptional place to play. Fun course that plays much longer than the scorecard would have you believe. Great mix of wide open holes and others that require a solid tee shot to have any chance at par. Clubhouse staff is top notch.Only complaint is there can be some knuckleheads on the course at times that do dumb $hit like driving carts on the greens (8th green has had tire marks for a couple years from that I think). Some slow play at times too...no reason whatsoever that a foursome needs 5 hours or more to finish 18 holes. A ranger with the balls to tell slow groups to speed it up would go a long ways on the weekends.

Course isnt in the best shape, but for $33 for 18 and a cart its not a bad deal, especially when Columbus public courses charge $50+.Theres not a lot of room for error here, a lot of trees and sneaky streams that span many holes.Good beer and food prices, but they really should repair the cart paths, theyre a mess.Would probably compare it to Kyber run.
