I am renovating my house and went into the store (McLean Ave and 5th Ave) to purchase some items. Since I knew I would be making a large purchase I decided to ask to ask if they offer any discount to first responders such as Loews, I was told she didn’t think so but will call the manager to confirm. Someone who identified himself as Andrew the manager approached and told me they don’t give first responders discount. I asked if it was just this store. He asked the cashier to contact the store managed but that he didn’t think ANY Home Depot gave first responders ANY type of discount. It was later confirmed via phone by store managers Pablo and Chris and as per the female customer representative last name Chuck. I am aware that Lowe’s honor first responders so I will gladly take my business there it’s a little further from my home but in my opinion worth every penny! Don’t waste your time where they don’t value first responders.

This store is a mess. Unorganized shelves. Rap music blasting by the checkouts. Every time, they don’t have items I needed. This time it was a simple 5 gallon bucket. I received two I don’t know where they are and one, finally, we sold out a while ago! Ridiculous. Filthy parking lot, carts have garbage in them. Crows all around the lot picking up food garbage left in carts. Masks thrown on the ground.

To Management of Home Depot Attention:1. Customer service and reliability reason why millions of customers trust this store. I was met with worst customer service imaginable over the phone.2. Called the store 6/14/2021 over 7 times from 8:45 - 10:15 am. Answered girl Sheina (sorry for misspell) just hand up on me 3 time. And 4 times transferred me to different department after returning to customer desk hang up again.3. I was persistent but seems like it was no chance for me to get help or manager over the phone. Even reason for my call was simply pay for the order.4. Management please pay attention to customer service representatives. As they could be a reason for bad reputation and lost revenue of the store.Made this review public just to bring it to the management attention as there is no other way to get a hold of you.Good luck.

I ordered online and I got a notification to pick up. When I came they had no clue about the order being ready. Asked me to come back tomorrow same time. I did and they did nit have the order ready. Avoid this place by all means. Order online if you need to and have it delivered at home. They do not care about customer service and it’s a shame. This place used to be very nice to customers and now they have hired incompetent and rude employees who do not care about the customers.

On the August 29 I went to home Depot in Paterson due to Bergen close on Sunday. I ordered some floor boxes to be picked up later and when I went to pickup merchandise they saids that I already picked up it and still not resolve the problem and my kitchen is with not floor. I find that it is best to go early in the AM before 8AM or after 6PM. This place gets crowded because they are always stocked with supplies and the nursery always has great plants in the summer time.

So many tools so little time. Home depot makes it very easy to fill up on tools, appliances and everything from paint to dishwasher machines. The staff is very knowledgeable and if they dont have it in stock ask and they will check out the nearby locations for you.

I’m standing in line at tool rental. I have been here 47 minutes, and there are 7 people in front of me. The 7 people in front of me have not changed. This store is unbelievably disorganized and mismanaged. It is in DIRE need of an over haul. Unless you want to severely annoyed - don’t shop here.

The reason Im writing this review is one-star. However, my overall experience started a lot better than it ended.Today I was returning a Rug Doctor. The two ladies who rented it to me and sold the solution yesterday were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Five stars for them.There was a woman in line in front of me. I was standing off to the side thinking maybe I was supposed to plug the machine in and show that it was clean and working. The man at the counter asked me if I was returning it. I replied, Yes. The woman in front of me got really mad and said she was there first. I told her I knew that and was just answering the mans question. Another man, a customer, stomped up and got in my face, nose-to-nose, accusing me of talking to his wife some kind of way. I didnt put him in the hospital like he was practically begging me to do. Both of them repeated dozens of bigoted slurs toward me, and I just told the guy Id be glad to step outside if he liked. Of course he didnt.If this was just typical New Jersey idiots not having a backup plan for when their bully act fails, this would be a four or five-star review. But the man at the counter kept telling me to calm down and seemed to have no problem with the other two customers starting s@#t for no reason, their irrational disruptive behavior, or their overt bigotry.Home Depots tolerance of that kind and level of bigotry just lost them a 25-year customer.For New Jersey residents: I strongly recommend you think about the consequences of your actions before you pick a fight you dont really want to be in with the wrong person.

Ordered a shower door from Home Depot because website claimed they can get it sooner than other companies - which turned out to be “delayed.” Upon getting to the lot I clicked on my email where there was a large orange button to let the store know I was ready for curbside delivery in spot number 3. I also tried calling the number listed in the picture (listed at each parking spot) which just rang with no voicemail. After waiting 20 min, I tried calling again - no luck. Went in and they side they don’t do curbside pickup. I suggested they take the signs down from the lot and a woman advised me to tell corporate. The one star was for the great service I got from the two men that helped me put the shower door into my car.

I was in the process of buying a Ryobi tool set with a big sign of at least 8x3 for $199 instead of the original price of $299.The sale sign was confirmed by the employees who took pictures themselves, after around 40 minutes of waiting, Clyde which seem to be the manager got involved and confirmed the sign himself then saying the that price was wrong that it expired after they where checking for the price difference, he was not willing to match the price and make some kind of discount... Regardless to said, he did not honor the price even though that he saw it.In general why take so long to get him involved, but that seems to be standard process in this store... Is hard to get help in this location and their parking lot is very unsecured, thats why I prefer to go to Lowes they have the security system connected to the policy for any car breaking and the thieves know it.Last year a car door was force open and someone stole valuable items from that car.He was no offer any kind of support from Homedepot to my surprised, including reporting or taking a look onto their video recording, that he has to handle that himself with the cops.... (In their own parking lot), I used to think it was kind of safe, being Homedepot.

Going to Home Depot is always great I love to get items from here. The one item I will never purchase again from here is the Nexgrill 5-Burner Propane gas grill with the side burner. This grill kept catching fire when I used it finally I just had to retire the grill. I was not happy with the grill at all.Five stars to Home Depot and I would have to begrudgingly give the Nexgrill 5-Burner Propane gas grill with the side burnerone star.

I just bought 3 cucumber plants, 1 watermelon plant and 3 pepper plants. Cucumbers and watermelon were $3.98 each. Peppers were on sale. 3 for $9.00. Girl on outside register scanned cucumber plant only and charged me for 7 cucumber plants. When I told her that she overcharged me she sent me to customer service for return instead of doing refund. Very unprofessional. We left home because we had no time to deal with the customer service. I an so disappointed.

Terrible location. Had no Propaine Tanks, while selling tons of Barbeque Grills.. What??? Store is loaded with employees all wearing orange aprons but most will go out of their way to avoid all eye contact or offer any type of help. Many of which were socializing among themselves on a personal level making it very difficult for me as a customer to engage them with any type of questions. That plus consistently low inventory make this place a Terrible place to shop.

I had a pleasant experience at Home Depot in Paterson. Our cashier went above and beyond to get me help with a large purchase. The gentleman who brought the item to my vehicle with a fork lift truck, was nice, accommodating and made sure the item was on the trailer correctly before going back inside the store. 3.5% sales tax was the icing on the cake. I will be back.

Just a place to get what you needed. The key is knowing what your going for, dont expect help once youre inside the store, the staffs either unavailable or doesnt know enough to answer your question efficiently most of the time, occasionally you elk find an employee who is decent. 9 of 10 times they are pretty occupied and dont want to help you. You are an inconvenience. This goes especially for the passage NJ Store. So know before you go so you dont get the cold shoulder treatment from the incompetent employees. And beware of the immigrants flooding the parking lot looking for work. They all claim they know how to do everything but dont and will tell you they know plumbing etc... Just to get work.

This store scammed me. I ordered an item which turned out to be out of stock. Then the manager called to ask if they can send a similar item. I said yes. Item was never shipped and was later cancelled and the refund was never issued even though i called and actually spoke to the manager twice. Which she says she would issue a refund.

A lot better then the store in Passaic. But the isle I was looking in didn’t have everything I was searching for. Had to compromise. That said, still extremely organized compared to Passaic, and had pretty much all of the popular items in stock. The item I needed was a specialty item and I had to have it special ordered. In the last six months, that’s the first time I had to special order something I needed during me home renovation, I’m an electrician by trade and got started in general contracting and plumbing. I still prefer this store over others in my area.

Generally speaking this Home Depot offered, decent customer service, stocked, but like any other HD, not enough customer associates, short! Today, I needed cinder blocks that were stored up high which required a fork lift to be bought down. It took approximately 30 minutes to have this simple task finished! 🤦🏿‍♂️ Nevertheless, its a great place, with a good team of employees.

Home Depot seems to be lacking in the customer service area these days. Employees walk around like Zombies and dont even acknowledge your existence as a customer. Had to look around and ask for assistance in order to find what I needed.The store itself is good and prices seem to be competitive in most areas. I returned a rented flatbed truck after a 1 hour rental. They actually give you 75 minutes. There was only 1 man working the tool rental desk so with 2 customers ahead of me, I waited on line for 20 minutes. He then charged me extra for returning the rental 20 minutes late. He said I should have cut the line. Thats a ridiculous answer. Use common sense.

Not a friendly store to be at. The moment the power tools section attendant realised that a customer, myself included, had needwd them, she bolted in the opposite direction. Only to return 10 minutes later after not helping us to tell me that I shouldnt have removed an item locked behind a gate. When my original intent was to ask them to retrieve something for me that was locked behind one of the gates, but if she suddenly wasnt so busy running in the opposite direction she would have known what I needed as a customer in her Isle. So I opted to go to their website instead to shop. Fortunately for me I found the item just slightly less on another website and have made the purchase elsewhere. So I guess one good thing came out of that employee ignoring myself and the other customer. I wonder how many times A-day this happens?

Very nice store, I would suggest to the store to hire some skilled advisor who can assist DIY customers, it will give them great business, Lets say I want to sand and paint my kitchen cabinets if the store has advisors who can help me figure out tools and equipment for the whole project and provide all items like paint, sanding tools and hardware then I will be easily complete my project and buy everything from the store, there is kitchen department but its hard to find help, this will help getting everything for the customer and increase revenue for store, or they can have entire kits ready based on the project

First I called on my house phone to customer service about opening a credit card and what is the first purchase discount, No pickup, phone just rang. I called on my cell phone and had to indicate I was checking on an order and finally got a person. This woman was clueless, she had to continuously ask other persons. No one knew the answer. Just awful customer service. This has been a continuous issue over many years with the Paterson location. Just awful.

This is a one star review because the inventory is wrong, the customer service, people answering the phones and associates are just collecting pay checks. Better then being unemployed but seriously, you would make more collecting unemployed than spending a day at a place you actually hate. Again like Totowa, Passaic and Clifton I needed a certain shovel or I would not waste my time. So as much as Amazon has been screwing up lately due to the Pandemic they at least know their stock since they pull from a 1K locations. After some research, I found out that not a single Home Depot within 100 miles had physical stock with 3 stores actually showing zero which is correct. 100 miles in NJ is equal to NJ, NY, CT, PA and God knows how many counties and stores have $40 missing shovels. Thats just pathetic. Back to Amazon. Well yes they had it, yes it was less, yes I need to wait an extra day or two but yes I will get it. Its time for Home Depot to take the curbside pickup, online orders, in store pickups and inventory a little more serious or yes, Amazon will crush them like everyone else. No stock is ok, it happens but every store except 3 all show stock on they have none is a serious issue. I truly hope Corporate reviews these multiple reviews, looks into a better system because peoples time, gas, charges and credits are more of a hassle and just piss people off. I wish Lowes had this item but they dont, then again it may be the same issue. Home Depot, you really need to look into an alternative solution or you will eventually fade away.
