This is a wonderland for train enthusiasts!!. We have never seen such variety in train and model selections. This is a one of a kind place and probably one of the best on the North Shore. They also repair trains and can answer any train questions. Recommend that if you have a train or have children and grandchildren that love trains this is the place to take them.

One man was a bit of a curmudgeon and seemed aggravated and bothered we were there attempting to buy a specific train set and money was no object.Didnt seem to matter.Great supplies in this store...really nice.But expect little help from the old man.Commander

Owner is smart, nice and fair unlike semi local competition. Personal service and a very good inventory. They also offer complete train maintenance and repair services with old pro, at very reasonable rates...$35 an hour.

Love the store. I am a collector and the owner and staff know their trains and prices are great. I would recommend anyone into model trains and collectables to shop here.

Northeast trains is one of the last shops on the north shore that I am able to frequent. They have a good selection of used and new train items. I am personally into HO scale items and have recently purchased a few freight cars here. I ended up trading in some Lionel Fast Track pieces and got a good amount towards my trade in for the purchase of several box cars. I like the selection of pieces they have and their prices are reasonable. I disagree with the below reviewer as they are a small business and like any small business they dont bring much $ in and Im sure the owner offered this individual more in a trade in value. Just because its old doesnt mean its worth a fortune. Like anything if you want full value for it sell it on Ebay. I recommend this shop for railroad enthusiasts and those looking to start in the hobby. I dont recommend it as a pawn shop because thats not what it is. Stop by and check it out.

Im primarily in HO, and went in looking for detail parts and some relatively newly released freight car kits, and didnt find any. That said, they have a LOT of Lionel and some garden scale as well. Box after box and shelf after shelf of Lionel. If youre looking to buy Lionel, this place is for you.

We stopped by this store with our 6-year-old son recently to ask whether they could help us repair his favorite toy--a large, battery-operated, remote-controlled Lionel train.The clerk was condescending and snobbish, responding to our inquiry not with an explanation of why he couldnt help, but with the following statement:We dont believe in that kind of train.Well. We dont believe in that kind of customer service, or rudeness towards a child regarding his favorite toy.

What a great train shop so much to see filled to the rafters with goodies. If you dont see it ask they probably have the item.

I was cleaning out my mothers house & came across my Lionel Trains, tracks, switches, houses etc from when I was a child. .2 boxes that were admittedly dirty & dusty. I was offered $10. for it all take it or leave it. Woo Hoo! One second hand car there is $20. I left & will give them to Good Will rather than encourage these thieves.
