Staff were very friendly, food was amazing and the atmosphere was very fun! We had Amanda as our server and she was great. Our coffees were kept warm and she went above and beyond to give us advice as we are from out of town. The owner, Chuck, cooked our food and personally greeted us before we left. Great family owned business, good food and even better people.
From Rhode Island on a day trip and stopped here for breakfast. I highly recommend coming here. Its like walking into the past. Great music.Great service. Great atmosphere. The girl working the counter was friendly and had perfect energy for this early in the morning.I got the Irish Benedict with a chocolate milk. Absolutely delicious and Im usually a plain Jane and just get an egg and toast.Chocolate milk was the best. Reminded me of a milk shake.Go check it out,you wont be disappointed.
Good food, old style dinner small and cramped but stil a place for old style breakfast. Good service all around
We were just passing through and found this on the map. Small diner with counter stools and picnic tables outside. Cash only. Had eggs over their pastrami which was amazing. Very lean, shaved thin, browned on the grill for a while to get some toasty bits. Well seasoned home fries for a change! My husband had eggs Benedict with an excellent hollandaise sauce. If this was in my neighborhood I would eat there all the time!
Really good corned beef hash. Only downside was for outside dining everything is served in to-go containers and Styrofoam cups. I would have preferred to not create the extra waste since I was eating there.
Good food and great staff. Very small place but worth it if you have to wait.
Cute little diner. The lady behind the counter is amazing! Thanks for breakfast!
You cant possibly leave here hungry. Generous portions, delicious takes on all your breakfast favorites. Cozy, fun 15 counter seats. Thankfully ac!
Forget everyone elses picky go green or complain about it being just cash b.s. Ill say it now and forever this is the best hidden diner around. The food is amazing 🤤 this for sure will be a regular place I attend.
Its nice but no card cash only.
The food is as good as it gets other than home made. The service is awesome and everyone makes you feel at home.
So 😎 friendly, unique atmosphere.. hence depot. Great food & great 💵. 11 or 12 sitting stools 👍. Thank u
I loved this little diner. We had the Irish Benedict. The hash was delicious and not too salty. The eggs were cooked exactly like they should be for eggs Benedict. Got to listen to some SRV while we ate. Its a small place but they are quick with the service so you wont have a long wait. Parking is easy to find. Its cash only though so make an ATM stop before you get there.
Cute! Good food. Pancakes are amazing. We will be back. Watch the train go around the ceiling.
Awesome little place to eat. Friendly staff
Cutest little place! Love their cinnamon butter on french toast - cant wait to go back!
True local Peabody New England Diner, sit down and spark a conversation, amazing food and staff!!!!
The food was great and so was the atmosphere!
Very good food and friendly people
This place is a must go. They make their own home made bread, think cut bacon and Hungarian sausage and its all amazing. Very friendly people.
Delicious breakfast food. The atmosphere was very vintage, sitting at the bar inside what felt like a classic rail car diner. The menu had a great variety of food, and their benedict was great. Also their waffles and pancakes come with cinnamon butter which was also great. Great customer service as well. Definitely a gem.
Always great food and awesome service.
First time visiting the food was really good
The place is small the people are big the plates are big if you be there hungry it is your own fault I am in eggs benedict connoisseur and I have not found better yet
Great food, great service, cool vibe!
Drove by it on my way home and had to loop around and try it. Great place to eat a great breakfast. Recommended to anyone looking for great food. Must try the Hungarian kielbasa which home made.
Great little diner. Clean as a whistle friendly and great breakfast! We had a breakfast sandwich and biscuits and gravy which were delish.
Went with a friend and had French toast and bacon. Food and service were awesome.
The pastrami Benedict is on point, cool little diner. They serve a great breakfast and have indoor and outdoor dining options.
Expect a wait for a seat on one of the fifteen stools that are in this 1923 dining car. Have your breakfast food (or other things, like Hungarian sausage or sandwiches) and Blues music elbow to elbow with other patrons. Its worth the wait for the experience of the musical decor, nostalgic diner atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food.
Oh wow! Dropped in on our way home to NYC from visiting Salem. Worth every penny and minute. Waitress was nice as can be (go Brooklyn!), food was phenomenal, prices were insanely cheap, especially for the portion size and quality! Super cute decor and layout, literally in an old train car! Sp glad we tried this place, and will definitely be coming back.
Really cute little place. The food was delicious. Only downside is they only accept cash
Corned beef hash says homemade, with perfectly cut potatoes squares, this is from a can!! Bacon was extremely salty. Home fries were not well done like I requested . This places is cash only.Food looks pretty though 🤷♂️
Were out-of-towners that happened upon this gem when we were passing through several months ago. Awesome breakfast and awesome service. We still talk about how good the coffee was and joke about making a trip (7 hour drive, btw) just to get breakfast. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area.
Penny Cluse Cafe in Burlington Vermont was the best breakfast Ive ever had. Today that changed. This is a small 12 seat diner but delivers big. I had the pastrami benedict. The pastrami was grilled on two oversized English muffins with two eggs, holondaise sauce and home fries. What a treat that was. The pastrami was perfect the eggs cooked just right and the sauce was fresh. The home fries were spiced right. The coffee was really good. I had three or four cups. The combination of all this with the blues music and the place itself was a wonderful experience. My wife had the Greek omlette with beans. I tasted the beans they were very well cooked. She liked the omlette and beans very much. It had baby spinach, feta cheese and tomato. The two ladies working there were very nice and eager to help. Thank you for this experience.
Cute little diner with great food and charm. They have Hungarian sausage.
Such a cool place. Awesome music and incredible food. Got a Pastrami Benedict and it was not only the best pastrami I’ve eaten, but the best Benedict I’ve ever had! Their hollandaise sauce is to die for. My boyfriend got the Hungarian Benedict and that was also amazing. Homemade Hungarian sausage!! Incredible! The server, Amanda, was super nice and attentive. Can’t wait to come back!
The lady at the counter was extremely nice and attentive. I do like the vibe in there with the old concert posters and memorabilia not to mention the train. I Do you like the music as well. Found most of the food average but the sausages were really good.
Great breakfast
Simple diner fair done right.Friendly service.Try a bacon egg and cheese on a grilled English with a side of beans.Nice comfort food that dont break the bank.
We had a great breakfast here. It’s very small and the seats are a bit close together but the blueberry pancakes with cinnamon butter were so delicious!! The wait staff was also wonderful, we didn’t feel rushed. This place is cash only so plan accordingly for that
Great spot for a well priced quality breakfast. Not much seating. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at the counter you will experience staff with lots of spunk. They move fast but have a fun time. Ask them to turn on the train and watch as it goes around the diner.
Such a great breakfast. Cool little diner.
So glad we found this charming little place. The eggs Benedict absolutely the best! Hungarian homemade sausage was to die for. Friendly fast service. Atmosphere takes you back in time. Well be back next trip through town.
What an amazing place - the definitive diner experience coupled with homemade Hungarian sausage. Amazing stuff! For fans of Italian Soupy style sausage patties (RI folks know what Im talking about), do yourself a favor and GO HERE! Atmosphere is so homey and cozy, staff here are all friendly (and funny!)Even though I was hungover and struggling to eat, I couldnt help but be dragged into great conversation with staff and patrons alike. The seating is limited, but given the nature of this style of diner thats to be expected. Its worth the wait!
Unbelievable beans. Everything is delicious, but those beans tho.
Good, and still like it was before it was sold. Very cozy, good menu, and specials. Better quality food than the typical diner. Service is great- somehow, the waitresses remember you, even if youre not a regular, and are super friendly and chatty. There are only about 15 seats total in here, so its not a good place for large groups. All seating is counter seating.
An adorable little diner. Good food and fast and friendly service. Seating is extremely limited however, so if you go at peak hours you may have to wait.
Came by for a late breakfast during a wedding weekend visit to Boston. Quite small with just about 12 counter seats running along the rail car. It is full of music/blues instruments and event paraphernalia. classic rock/blues is not too loud... just nice and different than usual musac. The food was really good and totally reasonably priced (bring cash). Try the Hungarian hash/sausage... homemade goodness.
This was an amazing find. I come to Salem for Halloween every year and never knew about this place. The food is delicious, the prices are good, and the service is awesome. I will definitely be coming back here.Ordered steak and eggs, steak is shaved but still moist and tasty. Corned beef hash, was excellent. Breakfast tacos were fresh and tasty. Sausage was delicious. The lowest part was the coffee which by no means is bad but I dont think its on par with the rest of the food and service.Oh and sign the guestbook... 😁
This is a great little spot. Amazing food, great staff and the best food to portion to money balance. Definitely recommend trying any of there daily specials
Best diner Ive ever been to! Fantastic food! Wonderful staff! Great atmosphere! Sometimes s long wait, but boy is it worth it! Dont forget to ask for special butter!
Diner with stool seating at the counter only. not handicap-accessible, no fresh squeezed orange juice and really salty bacon, otherwise they make a poached egg well. cash only. Delicious waffles, and pancakes. Real Vermont maple syrup $2 extra. #greasyspoon they have an ATM.
Great place waitress as super nice food was delicious
Tiny, authentic diner. Great food (HUGE pancakes!) at good prices. Not too many seats but dont let that stop you from giving it a try.
Delicious underrated little diner right in the middle of downtown Peabody, Great food, great prices. Support local small businesses 😊
Great perfect placeDelicious breakfast
Only negative thing about this place is that it is very small. The food was good and staff was fast and friendly. A lot of locals go here but they make you feel right at home. Ill definitely come back.
Went on a spontaneous date to this cute little diner. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in terms of getting cash from ATM/ finding little shopping venues around the town. DELICIOUS food, reasonably priced, and bottomless coffee! Can definitely see that staff loves to form genuine bonds with customers. Overall a little piece of home away from home. Must go!
There’s a reason they have 4.8 stars and 148 reviews. 149 now. I like trying new things, and Little Depot usually has something interesting in the menu. My favorite was the crab cakes Benedict. That was awesome. Not sure if they still have it. I think it was a special.
Always looking for a new place to have breakfast. Saw the Little Depot Diner on Fox25 Zip Trip. We drove an hour from Quincy and will be doing it again. The Blues Music they play is so relaxing and we engage in conversations with everyone in the Diner. The owner makes you feel like part of the family. The food was so good and plentiful. Once again, well worth the hours drive. Can’t wait to go back.
It was absolutely eggsolent!!! My new favorite breakfast joint
It was a great experience! Really enjoyed the friendly staff. Chuck was great! Food hit the spot
Awesome little place we were able to find. Food was great, staff was incredibly friendly, a patron chatted my wife and I in conversation even though we never before had met him. A testament to how friendly and personable the folks from New England are. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a great breakfast at a reasonable price.
Fantastic. Legit, old school diner food. Affordable and very friendly staff and patrons. Counter seating only. Everything is great but the home fries have a seasoning that is addictive.
Really great atmosphere and service! I had the Hungary Depot sandwich, which was delicious. Its a little on the smaller side, with just the lunch counter, but I definitely would recommend.
Perfect little diner.
Great service excellent food
Have loved this place since I first stepped foot in it three years ago. Alicia and Ross were fantastic owners and Chuck and Nikki are carrying on the tradition very well. Best eggs Benedict in the Boston area! Love you guys!
Absolutely extraordinary, quickly became my favorite breakfast joint from the incredible music, to the aesthetic of the restaurant itself and the always lovely and cheerful staff make for a great experience all around. The food is very affordable and delicious, I wish I could do more than five stars
Great
Love the local flavor... daily specials and a solid breakfast menu make this little dinner a great stop for a quick meal.
Lovely little hometown diner. Mayra was wonderful and cheery. Had the ruben and fries and it was delicious. Would recommend for an inexpensive local breakfast or lunch option.
Great food. Tiny diner. Only a counter with about 15 seats. Seems to move quickly. Will be back definitely. Oh cash only. Though there is an atm.
Thanks for a great meal! My son had the French toast with homemade maple butter and he cant stop talking about it. I got the pastrami Bennie highly recommended. Lots of regulars and everyone was so friendly. Makes me want to move to Peabody.
This is a terrific find. Tiny little place in Peabody with an excellent and friendly staff. The food is terrific and the portions are plentiful. Try the homemade sausage!
What a great little 1929 diner car. The eggs Benedict with pastrami was amazing with a side of hash. Very small with maybe a dozen stools at the counter but they knock out the food so quick. Watch it on YouTube from user Phantom Gourmet. T-shirts for sale. A must for foodies heading to the north of Boston. Met wonderful people there as well. I definitely recommend this diner.
A fine establishment. It is a legend in the Salem diner scene. It is cozy and the staff makes you feel very welcomed. The service is fast and the food is great. Get the sausage. Thats what she said.
Ordered to go and only got one syrup for a Belgian waffle and French toast. This is the second time I’ve tried this place. Way overrated and food is subpar. The only charm is the building and ambiance in side. When I called in the girl who answered was rude and the manager was not helpful. Denny’s could make better breakfast food. Super disappointing.
Great little old rail car!! We found this by chance, and it was great. Good for couples, small atmosphere of jazz/blues/trains. great omlet, waffles and staff. Very pleasant
Great food, cozy dining. Its a little small (no tables or chairs), but worth a try.
A local Gem! It is very small, since just an old dining car but the food, atmosphere and service are all above par. Everything here is always excellent, always served with a smile and just a fun place to go!
Limited seating but that adds to the appeal. Delicious food and friendly service. Cozy and affordable. Happy to have stumbled across this gem.
Sweet little place. The Hungarian sausage was excellent. The pancakes were melt in your mouth goodness. And classic blues memorabilia all around.
