Nice place to shop. Employees are nice and always working. I been coming here for years. Very organized store. Especially the gentleman that works out back stocking shelves doing what they can to make the store look presentable and full. I rarely get here and not find what I am looking for. Carts are usually in there spot or collected. Protects your car from dings. Great store, great employees and they are making stop N shop look good.

Stop & Shop is always well stocked. Produce is fresh. If you dont see it just ask Ted and he will find it for you. Cashiers are always friendly and helpful. On a recent visit, while I was checking out, the cashier noticed that I had purchased 2 items that were on sale. She suggested I buy the third item and I could save 15 dollars! I was so thankful to her. You wont regret shopping here. Great job !

This review is based on the practical, not aesthetic, advantages of this supermarket. It is very near my home and not in a high traffic area. Offers wide varieties in all major shopping needs. Produce, bakery, deli and meat departments are more than sufficient. This is not the boutique, prepared foods Whole Foods experience, but it is convenient and well-stocked.

Where to start about this store?.. For starters, I don’t know what it is about this store that attracts all the crazy people. Every.Single.Time I come to this store, I get forced into the absolute most ludicrous situations. Whether it’s a completely uncalled for rude comment from the staff, or an altercation with a looney customer who feels the need to in force cell phone usage in the store. This store has taken at least 5 years off my life span. And on top of that, they are NEVER stocked! I can’t bare the thought of ever having to come to this store for even 1 item. Go to Beverly Stop and Shop where the employees are kind and helpful and the customers keep to themselves

Even tho their prices are higher than market basket, they do have items that are sometimes hard to find. Store very neat and clean. I just wish prices were lower.

They never have what Im looking for so I am definitely shopping at a different store where I can get everything I need like who doesnt have shredded cheddar cheese?? Or Lays potato chips

Cleanest, best smelling store in the chain in the area.

The self check out process needs to be fixed. The machine would pick and choose what items are too heavy or fragile for the bagging area. Cucumber and waters can’t be placed their but breads eggs etc need to? A lot of unnecessary delays, and a waste of the employees time to keep running over to get the machine to let me continue scanning . It should not be a difficult process… scan your item and bag it. The machine made the process infuriating. And you may be reading this and thinking “ she just didn’t know how to use it “. No, every item I rang in it would call for the employee.

I gave 4 stars because, no one is perfect but, it was clean and employees were pleasant.

On April 27,2021 I was in youre store looking to purchase a bone in leg of lamb..no butcher anywhere to be found!! Along comes a woman walking slowly by..so I ask her if butcher here..has no idea what I asked and I asked about lamb..still didn’t have a clue...no wonder I don’t shop there..very aggravated..you must not pay enough for English speaking people to work there.. enough said

Loved the place as well as Marty, the lil robot that would roam around. I know it is new and I love it. I find him fascinating and to be honest, I havent been to a stop n shop since I moved and going now was great! The meats and produce are fresh and good prices. The man behind the deli counter could have been happier. An older gent well into 50-60 had a not so nice attitude with a new worker. Other than that, Marty and the prices made up for it! :D will happily come here again. Grumpy old meat man or not!

I know times are tough but you need to hire someone to bag groceries two registers open 20 people in lineThis is reply to the store owner dont misunderstand me the older woman at checkout was very sweet I just feel as though two registers open and no baggers I had no problem bagging my own groceries but the process makes it rather slow that being said that is the first time Ive been in the store and quite some time I usually use your online pickup and the two girls that Ive been getting my groceries from are absolutely wonderful so please do not misunderstand your employees are doing a wonderful job with what they have

Today was the worst I have ever experienced at any Stop and Shop locations. I was looking for a particular item and it took me about 15 minutes to find any store employees actually on the floor. Only employees I saw was at the registers. After searching for so long I finally saw an employee but she was pushing a cart. I said can you please help me find this item I been searching for awhile and cant find anyone to help. She proceeds to say, No, Im off the clock no I cant help you. I believe that was very rude to say while having a Stop and Shop uniform on, she could of at least told me where to go to get help. So once again here I go looking for the item on my own. Searching up and down the aisles. I go to produce see 2 employees talking to each other. I asked them both they told me they never seen the item and to go to customer service. I went to customer service and she sent me to 2 different aisles and I still could not find it. At that point I was irritated with looking for the item. As I was just about to walk to checkout with the rest of my items. I seen an employee that looked like a manager and he asked if I needed help. He took me down an aisle but we could not find it. I gave up. This item was purchased here before. I went to the register to check out. As I was putting all my items on the belt I noticed that my tomatoes container plastic cover had a hole in it. I told the cashier I wanted another one and he said thats fine you can go get it. As I was still putting the rest of my items on the belt. There was two employees at the end of the register just having a conversation with each other. I asked can an employee grab it he paused and just said Ill scan it and you can grab it on your way out the door. Terrible and frustrating experience here today. I never seen so many employees not willing to help customers, that should always come first. This was ridiculous.

Excellent deli, which is the main reason I shop there.Seldom crowded, but mostly self checkout as very few registers are manned of peak hours.A bit pricey, compared to other local grocery stores, but it is clean and convenient with professional staff.

This is our first time that we received a Peapod order. Jesse the driver was very friendly even though he delivered our groceries in a snowstorm. Thanks also for all behind the scenes at Stop and Shop who filled our order. We received everything we ordered without an error.

This is a nice store to come and checkout, they have most everything you need and have a bank inside. The deli department has a great selection of wings, chicken strips and more.

I love Stop & Shop, cleanest grocery store ever. Cashier bag my groceries and it was the easiest trip into the house with my groceries she packed everything so perfect. Very very pleasant personality. Fourth of July not even complaining that she was working on 4th of July I meet so many cashiers that all they do is whine and this lady was just the most pleasant person I have talked to in a long time. Great job Stop & Shop hiring her I just wish I could remember her name it was a short name but I would remember her face sorry for short term memory loss. I will definitely be looking for her next time I go into Stop & Shop so I can write her name down to let you know. She deserves some praise!!!

The Stop n Shop I shop at has their own gas station and I always get gas as soon as Im done food shopping which is a huge time saver for me... Only thing I dont like is that their shelves arent stocked the way they should be since the pandemic.

Quality a little pricey

This may be the worst run stop and shop anywhere. Shelves are NEVER fully stocked or even faced properly. The staff are polite when they arent having group conferences in the isles or texting. There are rarely more than 1 or 2 registers staffed. I rarely have any of these issues at the swampscott location. This is clearly an issue with the management at this particular site.

Somethings up with the bake shop. A couple months ago I saw a package of moldy bread out for sale. When I got up the stomach to shop that dept. again about a month after that, the label on the rolls didnt work at the register. And last week the packages of bagels were all sweaty and gross looking in the bag like they had been packed too soon while still warm. Someone might need more training.Other issue, whats up with the soda aisle? Selection seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

Normally like shopping here, but the response to COVID is really inadequate. There were several employees wearing masks with their nose fully exposed at checkout while handling food items. I saw a customer with the mask under his chin talking to an employee and it didnt seem to be addressed since he walked away with the mask under his chin.The one way aisles and 6 foot distances in checkout line are poorly marked.If I return and see employees masks the same then my next review will go to the health department.

Always seems to be low on everyday items no matter what day of the week or time of day. The older woman who works service desk is just awesome with her job. She seemed a lil hard first meeting her but now after a cpl years.of relationship of going to stop & shop I always say hi when I see her.

Went to the pharmacy that they no longer have. Drove from one side of town to the edge of the other, not easy in my city, all for not.

Ive long been frustrated with the poor produce and spoiled meat being sold at this location, but I dont generally like to leave negative reviews and the location is convenient to my home, so Ive always let it slide. However, I cant continue to frequent this store after continuing to see how poorly theyre handling their COVID-19 response. It started with one or two employees wearing masks below their noses and has escalated over the past several months, so that now at least half of them, including someone who appears to be management, wont wear them properly. Last night, there was also a customer walking around in full view of several employees without a mask on at all, for at least 5 or 10 minutes before I left. This is the second time Ive seen this. Again, I was willing to let it slide when it was just one guy that may or may not have been visible to employees, but a second person being so obvious about it makes it a pattern. There have been several other reviews about this and the store always responds to say how sorry they are and how they are taking all matters regarding health and safety seriously, but considering its been several months and nothing has changed, I have no reason to believe them.If you are someone who takes this pandemic seriously and cares about your health, especially if you are considered high risk, please find another store to shop at. Its not worth risking our health to shop here when there are other options available.

Its a grocery store. There is a fairly large selection of Latin products and produce.

Was not happy with shelves being under stocked.also when shelves. Were being stocked the workers had their carts in the isles making it hard for us elderly to maneuver around.and lastly the men,s room was very un clean.had to wait till I, got home.will not be going back any time soon....

I cant shop here anymore. Associates in the deli and bakery do not wear masks. Most cashiers wear masks with noses hanging out. I asked the bagger if she could please grab me another container of basil- mine kept popping open. She put her bare hands inside the container, rearranged them, and closed it. I asked her again to please get another one, and she rolled her eyes at me. She disappeared for a full five minutes. I found her talking on the phone in customer service, and rolled her eyes again when I asked for the basil. She didnt swap it out - container is still popping open. Ive worked in customer service for years and I know this is a tough job, and I was very polite. The blatant rudeness and lack of basic hygiene is just nuts. I will be driving past this store to go to another one.

I came back in Salem on the snow falling Friday of 10/30/2020 from 800 miles drive on eastward. In my fridge, provision was scarce. I was supposed to insulate myself until I receive Covid-19 testing negative. Otherwise, the Mass gov is ready to impose $500/day fines on me. I hesitated even stepping out for takeout. Although I brought some foods back from ALDI in NY, I wanted to eat something hearty immediately by skipping cooking. Oh! what is this!? I found the menu in my mail box. Made a phone call. Distance negotiation was serious on my part, because I lived out of their delivery radius. But, done! Success! Wait. Wait more. Call again. The assurance was the delivery being on the way. Came! Delicious! My choice of Peking Ravioli as side gave me a continuous delight on the next day. They offer very good Chinese foods in my view, by my review. Now, finally Stop&Shop: I did online order first time and picked up before I headed to Covid-19 testing site on Saturday. The curb pick up was very convenient. PLUS, Stop&Shop must be generous enough to include my Grourmet Garden Danvers review into theirs. Thank you very much!

This is a convenient location and their produce is always so fresh that its worth the extra $. The store is bright and well-stocked and I like that theyve added more self-checkouts. I will say that every time I stop in during the day/afternoon, the older women cashiers constantly seem to be venting and gossiping across the registers like there arent customers who can hear them. If you dont like cashiering, get a different job.

I dont understand why the older women who work the register even work here, they are SO rude every single time I come here.

Always clean and you can find someone to help you without walking the whole store.

The employees don’t like to help. If you ask about an item they never know where you can find it.

The store is being remodeled so it is a bit of mess right now. The store inventory is not what it should be, but that is probably related to the ongoing work. What is not related to the renovation is the training, or lack of training, some employees receive. Simple things, like not putting loaves of bread and fresh strawberries in the bottom of a bag, then putting bottles of soda on top of them isnt that difficult a concept to teach. There was no problem exchanging the flattened merchandise, but it should have never happened to begin with.

I like this store plus it’s close to home however, I don’t think that the employees like their job. I feel uneasy shopping here because it feels like the employees might yell at me at any because they have done it for very simple things to other people in from of me.

This Stop and Shop is clean and friendly. Used the restroom and it was well kept and maintained, stocked with paper goods and soap. Products are organized well and didnt find any expired products in fifteen random samples (believe it or not this is rare for a grocery store). Staff is helpful and energetic. I would definitely shop here again.

This place is awful. A fairly limited selection of produce that goes bad in a few days and doesn’t seem fresh when you buy it. I think the only good thing about this place is that it’s always quiet because so few people go there...

I know the Stop & Shop prices are higher than Market Basket but I dont care!Number one reason I go there is because its got some of the quality products to Market Basket doesnt even start because all the cheaper people want to go there and they never buy quality stuff just cheap thats why their lives usually stay cheap!And the shopping experience at Stop & Shop is always calm and cool and relaxed where is hemlock at basket to a hectic unpleasant experience !I like him the experience at Market Basket to be like being led bumper cars in a fun park but not so much fun because of the grabbing and hectic bumping going on!There are many more reasons if you want to ask me just email me my name is Papa Gino

I just stood in aisle 13 while a cashier rang in and bagged a $400 order solo.Will not be returning.-----original message-----Gave it some time to make sure my review wasnt just my resistance to change...Hate the remodel!As a vegan it was super convenient to have all my stuff tucked in one corner of the store; now its all interspersed among things I will not eat.The robots constant beeping and overhead cleanup announcements are annoying.And quite frankly, I didnt attend university for eight years to play cashier/ bag boy on the weekends. Far too many self checkout lines and not enough cashiers.

Poor produce dept...never really recovered from the strike. Bathrooms should be reported to the board of health. Luckily, there are 3 Whole Foods Markets all a 10-15 minutes from here!

Always get what I need

It’s your typical supermarket, really. It definitely trumps other Stop & Shop markets in the area, though, in that they carry a lot of lactose-free and ethnic specialties that other markets don’t. I don’t have to run to other markets to find other items because the products I need are right there. It fits very nicely into my Monday routine so I often find myself stopping there for everything from basics to odds and ends. Mind you, it’s usually a bit loud and occasionally a little dirty but you can’t control every grubby child or careless adult who leaves their messes in various aisles. Also, I don’t think anyone really knows how to bag groceries there (soda bottles never belong in the same bag as lightbulbs - just an FYI) - or elsewhere, for that matter.

Good place to shop

Come here for a wide selection of expired deli meats and yogurts. Complaining won’t help either. High prices, not enough registers open, lack of managerial oversight. After years of complaining I am finally done with them. One day they are going to make someone sick and maybe then they will notice but it will be too late. I won’t chance bringing home rotten lunch meat.

Not happy with the new stop and shop in Peabody. Even tho it is clean and appears to have more room, they have discontinued many items I used to bye. I dont like all the self check registers and unhappy to see that a lot of employees are gone and been replaced with a stupid robot. Think Ill go shop at shaws.

I like the fact that they have an app. for weekly coupons and you can earn points for discounts on gadoline for every dollar you spend.You dont have to clip coupons for the weekly store specials and you can combine manufacturers coupons with the in store coupons.They are a little pricey on certain items but they have a large selection and the produce and meats are always fresh.

Some shelves with sale priced items empty until restocking during the night. Prices are a little higher than average unless youre a savvy shopper.

A rip-off as I expected. Had to stop. Only place around. I dont understand how people can shop at Stop & Shop on a consistent basis. For example, $9.99 for Starbucks 12 oz. ground coffee when everybody else is $7.99. $2.99 for a 2 pack of Bic lighters, everyone else $1.79. Its like that throughout the entire store. The only values of the Lost leaders they publish it there weekly flyers.

Great shop. Temperature was very cold inside though. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will go back.

The remodel has really lifted this location. The variety and quality of produce, deli and pet food is particularly attractive.
