In our case on a farm in rural Illinois our water system MUST work. Our system serves multiple buildings as well as where we DWELL every day. Kurt designed a neat and professional re-plumbing that replaced an ugly, old outdated system. One of the most difficult tasks in plumbing. Waited for 3 weeks to get someone out to look at the unit, the man came and told me what was wrong with it and then left and said trouble free would contact me about the repair. I had to call them 5 days later after I called the manufacturer of my water heater and they told me it was covered by factory warranty. The company told me flat out it wasn’t and it would cost more to fix than to just buy a new one. So, after speaking to the manufacturer they told me they would call trouble free themselves to make sure the work got done. They did, and trouble free called me the next day and said they didn’t have a plumber that could work on it and then hung up on me! Worst service I’ve ever had and I paid the fee up front to have it diagnosed instead of waiting for the warranty to pay it. They were also supposed to charge my debit card for the visit and my boyfriend ended up having to pay it in cash to the plumber. “How can we make you smile today” is what they say when you call them, apparently being rude and nasty works for them.

The company was good about keeping us informed about the tech was going to be out, even when an issue arrived and they were not able to keep the original appointment. Once the tech arrived he was friendly, professional, and quick. My issue was diagnosed and repaired in maybe 45 minutes! Absolutely no attempts to upsell.

I had an emergency refrigerator water line leak late Saturday afternoon. I called for help at 5:40p, and he called me back 5 minutes later. He explained his last scheduled appointment was at 8:30p, and he could come after that. I couldnt find anyone else willing to come, so I mopped up water until he was able to arrive at 10:50p. Just bought this house six months ago and I had a nasty blockage that was refusing to clear out, and while I am a bit of a DIYer I could not bust it. Chris and Kurt came out, took a couple of minutes to assess the the layout and the situation. They brought out a machine that I will call Diplomacy ends here and after roughly 20 min they cleared the blockage and my plumbing drains as it should now. (BTW, stay away from flushable wipes, they will only do you wrong) They where very professional and down to business while still being friendly. Will recommend them to others.

Water Heater went out on Friday night before July 4th weekend. I called every plumber within a huge radius and while they were all sympathetic none could help. Trouble free came out and assessed the situation and then came out the next day and installed a new one. The only omplaint is they charged $129.00 to come out the first day to tell me they couldnt get the water heater we needed. When my husband called the second day they agreed to replace the unit. The bill was over 2000. And there was no discount because of the call the day before.

Have a propane leak in my crawl space. Guys came out and found the leak. Charged 350.00 for just finding the leak. They said they would come up with a plan and get right back with me. Still waiting for a call back. 6 days and counting with no hot water, air conditioning, stove or dryer.

Dont call for emergency repairs! Had water heater fail right before the holiday. The technicians showed up with NO TOOLS! Just said the water heater needs replaced. When I asked how long that would take since were going into a holiday, he replied I dont make the schedule.They did not even look at the water heater. Just said he needs replaced, and then demanded $95 for their time.I called another company that showed up with tools and had hot water running in 45 minutes.They are probably good for an install job, but I will never call for an emergency repair again.

I scheduled to have them level an AC unit. The gentleman came out and was professional. I am unsatisfied with the office. I said I wanted 2 guys out so we could get it done. They sent 1. Then he said he couldnt do it today. Called the office and received an ungodly quote to raise and level my ac unit. I told the tech no way. I had materials on-site for him to use to execute the job. Since he choice to go another route which I didnt approve my husband and I ended up raising and leveling the unit in less than 5 minutes. Ever since Taylor has left the office I have been dissatisfied with the quality of service. It is a shame since I have used them for 8 years.

Call them to Roto Rooter our out side clean out drain of Tree roots. First they charge you $125 hour the minute they pull out of their place of business. Arrive another 20 minutes later. Proceed to clean out roots. They say they got it charged us $298 for their work. 6 days late it starts backing up again. My husband calls them and they say we gave to pay again because they don’t know what we have put down there our system. But we did not said we didn’t have to pay tracing time. We put nothing down our system .it was tree roots that they did not get them all out. . Every 10 years we might have to have this done. So my husband went and rented doming for $50 and did it himself. I would not recommend Trouble Free Plumibing to anyone

Called for AC repair. I felt uneasy right off because their 21 yr old repairman was explaining to me why it might be better for me to replace my 8yr old AC unit rather then to repair it. Was actually trying to sell me an $18000 AC unit. Telling me how it would add so much value to my home. I would NEVER buy an AC unit for $18000.00 The repair made that day for $900 did not work. Called them 2 days later and he arrived at 330pm. After waiting for a second repairman to bring equipment necessary to do my repairs was told that he would have to replace a part that would cost me an extra $100 for after hour warehouse fees, he arrived at my home at 330pm to fix my AC and it was 445pm when he was telling me this. When I said that I would not pay that he went to his truck, came back and said that my bill to fix my AC (leak) would be $2000 and his boss said that if I didn’t like that he would put the cover back on my unit and leave. I sent him packing. I ended up calling another repairman and he fixed my AC for a whole lot less and advised me that the $900 job that was done on Wednesday was $500 more then he would have charged. This company was only interested in selling me a new unit, they hike up their bill to see if you will give in and buy a new unit. Everything about this business is way overpriced.

I have used Trouble Free before had fairly decent service from them. The most recent incident I encountered with them was absolutely awful. They failed to even try and resolve my plumbing problem, and quoted me an unknown amount of money needed- in hand- in order for them to proceed with the repair. After not being able to use any water on the west side of my house for 2 weeks, and the company CANCELLING MY APPOINTMENT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE.... I will never return for their services. I hired another company and was told “if they did what they suggested to do, they wouldn’t have found the problem anyways”. My suggestion.... don’t waste your money.

He was polite and right to the point with what it would cost. He took care of the problem in under an hour, talked me through what he did and showed me how to shut off my water should I ever need to again. Stopped by there office to get quote on furnace and tankless water heater. Their sales lady Edith showed up that same day gave us a quote and went ahead and hired them to do the work,the furnace was installed within a day and then a few days later the tankless water heater was installed since it was going into a small utility room so it couldnt get done at the same time. They did a great job.

Beware! They try to scam the elderly!They charged my parents $300 to replace a gas hose to a dryer!My parents who are 79 and 80 smelled a gas leak so they called Nicor. They came out and said the gas hose to the dryer was leaking so they called Trouble Free. They have been using Trouble Free for over 20 years! The guy came out and did not have the part on his van. They advertise they have a stocked van, but they didnt even have a gas hose. He came back and replaced the hose and charged them close to $300, for a $30 gas hose! I tried called the business and was hung up on by one of their secretaries. I finally got a hold of Dean, one of the owners and instead of trying to reason with me, he just started to argue and explain to me why it was so expensive and how I was ripping people off because of my profession. Who runs a business like that??? They are rude and overcharge for their work. You would think if you were with someone for over 20 years they would value you as a customer, but not this business. With all of the 1 star reviews, I cant see them in business much longer.STAY AWAY!!! THE WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!

Had a terrible experience with them. They quoted us to fix our boiler. Told us it would be an all day repair and quoted us for several hours of worth of work to fully fix the system. They were supposed to show up at between 8 and 9 am. When they didnt show up I called them to see what was going on. They told me they didnt have all the parts available to fix it so they had to go pick up parts from the store but that they would be there between 10 and noon. This was a terrible excuse because they knew which parts they needed ahead of time from looking at it before and I made this appointment with them a week ahead of time. When they didnt show up by noon, we had to call them again (because they couldnt be bothered to tell us) and we were told that our technician had a different job that he had to go to instead of ours but that as soon as he was done he would be at our house. He finally showed up at 1:30pm and only spent about 2 hours working on the system and didnt fully fix the system like he said he was going to. They charged us for the full amount of a whole days work that he didnt complete. We tried to get a partial refund but all they were willing to offer a discount on an air conditioned repair that we dont need.

Kurt was fantastic! The relief valve on our water heater started leaking today. I called to see about replacing the valve. He asked a bunch of questions to determine best course of action. That ended up being a replacement to our 38 year old heater. He had the old one out and the new one installed in about 2 hours. There was absolutely no mess left behind and he cleaned up the mess of excess valves and pipes left from previous work. I could not be happier.

Work has not been done yet, but replumming the house on Wednesday.

Kurt was the original plumber who came out to evaluate a rusted out water heater. The estimate was a lot more than I was expecting due to a shut off valve needing to be installed. Part of a gas line also needed to be replaced. My initial reaction was one of anger and mistrust. Kurt handled the situation very professionally and never lost his cool, on the phone. Kurt came back out today and worked ALL day, almost totally by himself. He did an awesome job. Brought everything up to code. I would totally recommend Trouble-Free and a special thank you to Kurt.

Way to expensive. Charge you before the work is even done. Still domt know when it will be done they charge you 89.00 just to show up then 250.00 for a part on the water heater that they have to order and while they get their money we wait will never use this place again rip off dont use them watch them fold
