First visit for us. We both loved the atmosphere of the building when we first walked in. Beautiful lighting and elegant surroundings, yet casual dress is fine. Our server was great and the lasagna we ordered arrived fresh from the brick oven piping hot. The wine list looked interesting, so have to try that next visit perhaps. Under all the ice there is a pretty lake outside to gaze on while dining in the summer. We will be back.
Just opened recently. We visited for lunch. I had the eggplant parmesan. It was good, eggplant is not crispy. Sauce was sweeter than I expected but tasteful. Baked ziti and calzone was very good. Calamari was breaded nicely and good flavor, but on the chewy side. Service was great. Homemade rolls were excellent. Not too garlicky. Lunch portions are the same size as dinner and cheaper.
Spectacular! Everything is made from scratch!Pasta and cream sauces are perfection the Seafood and chicken were cooked tender. Meals are served with the best yeast bread rolls that could be a meal all in itself. The prices are so reasonable! Highly recommend Venezia for lunch or dinner! Service is great!
We came from out of state for a wedding. Our in town family raved about this place. Our party was 5 adults and one child. We got there at 5:30 on a Friday and were the only ones there. Our waitress was new and the hostess was new. Our family said when they last went that the staff were all family so I guess they are maybe under new management. Only 1 item we ordered was memorable in a good way. My grandma asked for a cup of minestrone soup. It came out as the biggest bowl of soup we had ever seen. I joked that they must have been concerned that they would loose a lot of food because it was so slow for a Friday, that they threw every ingredient they could find in there. It had piles of vegetables and several different kinds of noodles and a half a lemon in it. We took it home and had 2 more meals with it.The rest was very disappointing. The chicken tortellini, stromboli, stuffed mushrooms, and veal marsala where all flavorless. Instead of marsala wine sauce, the veal tasted like it was covered in gravy. The house salads had one piece of cucumber and tomato, the house Italian was dark red and tasted like french dressing from a bottle, the balsamic vinaigrette was just vinegar in a bottle. The bread looked good but tasted bland and doughy, and even the iced tea was messed up. One persons was cloudy like the Illinois river, and the other persons was much more clear. To top it off there was a used condom in the urinal in the mens room. Again, we were the only ones there so how did that get in there??? The decor of the place is nice, but every other Italian restaurant in the Pekin area I would recommend over this place.
I guess my expectations were too high, heard it was home crafted real Italian, but slightly disappointed. Our waitress was very friendly and nice...but I didnt get the feeling of fine dining... seems like trying to get you in and out as fast as possible. Dishes were tasty, good wine ...salad lacking- do Italians really think iceberg lettuce is a salad?
We were seated right away. Our waiter came over and took our drink orders. He returned with our drinks and warm rolls with butter. He asked us if wed like to order and we were ready. He returned very quickly with our salads. I had just finished my salad and as he walked by he took my plate and asked if we would like another drink. Next thing we realized he was back with our meals. I had water and a tea. Just as I put my water glass down, he was there to refill it. He stopped by in a few minutes to see if we were enjoying our meal and if we needed anything else. I finished before my husband and he was there to take my plate away. We were both too full for dessert but Im sure it would have been delicious. Our meal certainly was. Friendly, fast and very attentive wait staff. The rooms warm, the salad cold and our meal, hot. I really enjoyed it and we will be back! Thanks!
The food is amazing, they have had to close unfortunately due to covid. I hope they come back. A hidden gem in Pekin.
I had never heard of this restaurant until a very good friend invited me to dinner this evening. Being somewhat of a gourmand, and having a discerning palate for good wine, I was very, very pleased with my dinner. The Lambrusco Chianti did not disappoint. My companion and I very thoroughly enjoyed our meal from beginning to finish..... The owners hail from Venice, Italy. They use their grandparents time-tested and very pleasing recipes. Our server Vicenzo was very attentive and eager to please. Finally, the prices were beyond reasonable, and the quality was beyond compare.Having partaken of various and sundry meals throughout the world, I was definitely impressed and satisfied with our dining experience.I very highly recommend this restaurant, and I will most definitely return in the very near future. Ciao !!!!!
Great food. My go to is calamari, calzone, and a side of alla panna sauce. Bring family and friends and enjoy yourselves.
Nice surprise place. Sits back off the road, has a great water view. Portions just right size, 4 glasses of wine,2 entrees and dessert64.00. Lots of menu choices. Owners very cordial and really want place to be a success. Lunch menu same portions, but even better price.
All the staff was very friendly. The food was amazing! Great flavors, food came out hot, and dessert was wonderful too!! We had drinks, appetizers, main course, and dessert. There was not one thing I had that wasn’t amazing! If you haven’t tried it, you must try!
Ordered the Eggplant was cold in the middle not cooked, no salad, one piece of bread per person. Had to pay if you wanted more bread. They replaced my dinner with another entree, nice large portions, good service. Have some work to do here!! Love the atmosphere
My 1st experience here. Came in for lunch and was not disappointed !Was immediately greeted and seated, and the waiter was very prompt getting my drink. I ordered the chicken parmesan. Generous, very cold side salad came out first, with bread. The thousand island dressing was excellent. The entree came out quickly and included spaghetti.Everything was delicious. Portions were very generous and price is reasonable. Service was excellent, also. I would highly recommend.
Food was pretty good. Prices werent too bad. Three adults and two kids for around $100 seemed fair to me for the portions and quality. Atmosphere could be a little better. The back room we were seated in felt a little dated. Friendly staff. Would go again.
Not a good experience. Hope they get things worked out. Sat us in lawn chairs in side room with no heat. Waiter forgot wifes salad. Waiters shirt looked like he had slept in it. Couldnt tell what the bill was because it had no itemized list on it. You pay as you leave at the cashier, same person that seated us. I guess she was able to tell what we had by looking at the waiters scribbles.Never was offered a refill on water....on a positive note, the food was good and priced fairly. Will give them another chance after they have been in business for a while. After they work out some of their issues.
The service was great. Was told by server/manager the food was going to be longer than usual, we had a group of 10, but the food came out in a very timely manner. The food tasted very good, and was served to everyone at once and hot. Everyone in our group was very happy.
Great pasta, a great variety of choices on the menu, and reasonable prices. Service was very friendly and quick. Definitely recommend that you try it-youll love it!
The food was excellent and the service was very good. They did being out the wrong dish for my dad but offered to replace it st no charge. My dad said the dish they brought out looked amazing so he was happy to keep it!
The food was great and the Owner and staff were fantastic. They catered to our every need. Had a wonderful night and were not rushed. Cant wait to go back.
I love this place. The food was great. I had Chicken and Broccoli Tortellini. The dinner rolls are good, too. I saw several other entrees that I can’t wait to try. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend you try this restaurant.
My family, a group of 15, took my grandmother here for a birthday lunch. The food, wine and service were fantastic. Dont let this one slip away Pekin.
This was our first time eating at Venezia’s. It was very good and the service was very friendly and fast. I ordered a Chef Salad with chicken and it was FANTASTIC!!! It was loaded with amazing and unusual veggies which was so awesome . It had things like capers, roasted zucchini, artichokes, peppers, broccoli, cheese etc. It was one of the BEST salads I have had. The dinner rolls were homemade and wonderful. My husband had lasagna and said it was very good. We would recommend this place and will be returning.
First time, wont be the last. House Italian dressing needs a new name, its too good to to just be the house dressing. Pretzel style bread nails it. Wife had the seafood Alfredo, I had chicken Parmesan. Both superb. Flavors are unique, obviously created here. Dessert was a lemon cello cake for me and cannolli for her. Excellent! Here for her birthday, got a song! Tiffany did a great job! Go here if you want authentic Italian!
Food was excellent. The service was also good. Overall the portion size was just right. One of the party had a box to take home. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant.
Came here when it was still the chateau, however coming back home after ten years to find it changed into Italian, came as a surprise. However the service was extremely excellent and the food was delicious, so I cant complain.
Really, really delicious food. Id post a picture, but I was too eager to eat it. My husband had the carbonara, I had the tetrazinni, & I took over half home. My husband did not. I will have to hide mine well. 😁
Very friendly service and amazing food!
Great food. Good service. Friendly owners. Love eating in the beautiful former Chateau. Reasonable prices, too.
Love, Love the place! Food was very! Our waitress was really nice, she made sure we were Happy! The prices are good and you get a lot for your money.
Everyone in our small group loved it! Food is fresh and homemade and service is wonderful! Its nice to have a real italian restaurant so close! A perfect fit for that building.
Very nice atmosphere. Authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. Lunch specials are especially good value with delicious bread and small salad included.
1st time eating at Venezias, great food, great service. Slow on food order, but several parties. Very very worth the wait. Outstanding meal. Will be going back.
This is an excellent restaurant. The food was superb and very well priced. The waitress we had was very inexperienced but did a good job--She did fumble a bit but my fiancee and I found it endearing ☺️. The food came out fast and was delicious. I would highly recommend Venezia.
Lovely setting beautiful building menu was large and great choices I had a side salad with the house dressing was a tomato Italian very good fresh tasting and just an appetizer with stuffed mushrooms the crab meat was minced in the mushrooms and they were cooked in a tomato cream sauce cheesy that was wow the tomato bisque kind of thing and was if tasted phenomenal Bloody Mary was good tiramisu was out of this world hint of liquor in the lady fingers maybe some Amaretto the chocolate sauce over the top of something I hadnt seen before but took the desert to another level great service great waiter will definitely be returning
The last three times I’ve been here I’ve told myself I need to leave a review and forgot. I wish I could give 10 stars! I’ve had three different entree’s and each was so good it was unbelievable. The prices are insane good too. I’ve had expensive Italian like Biaggis and multiple others nothing even comes close to this place. I highly recommend the sausage parmigiana, it’s seriously the best dish I’ve had at any restaurant ever hands down. Wow!!
Atmosphere and food was awesome. The bread was good, and the house dressing was tasty. Wait staff was nice and the chef came to our table to introduce himself, and he seemed like a very nice man. I am giving 3 stars because it took over 20 minutes to get someone to take our drink order. We had wait staff walk by us multiple times, look right at us and keep going. A member of our party spoke up and asked if we could get a server. The server apologized multiple times and gave us our drinks for free, which we appreciated.
First time there, was not impressed. Bread was good, but you had to buy the oil and garlic. I had a combo it was all mixed together could not tell one from the other. To me it was cheap imitation. Not likely to go back.
Always a nice experience. The food is good and the manager and the wait staff are very attentive. This is only my third time there, but I am sure this will be on our favorites list. Thank you all for bringing this fine restaurant to Pekin.
Food was good. Reasonably priced. Our waitress, Ashlyn, was very nice. Good bread. Quiet and relaxing.
Very good! Husband ordered the Lucky Guess and I had their Seafood Pasta dish because the menu said it had shrimp, clams, mussels and sea scallops in it... Beware!!!!theyre bay scallops... I chose the dish just for the sea scallops... But dislike bay scallops.. was disappointed. We waited so long I didnt even bother to complain.I cant wait to try some of the other items on the menu!
The food and service was great! Their homemade bread is delicious. Great place for a great meal.
The quality of the food is excellent. The one thing that I hold against them is that if you want a salad with your entree you have to pay extra. Most places that I go to when you get an entree you get at least one side with it. But not there!
Wanted to try this place, but theyre apparently remodeling until Autumn of 2020 although they havent bothered to post that fact on their website - you have to drive down to the restaurant and read the sign when you get there. Might try them again in about October or so.
Keep doing what youre doing ..Venezia is our go to...love the atmosphere,, we love the service, the people are all so nice!! the food is exceptional, did i mention we love it!!! Lol.
Loved the food. Chef came to check on us and answered questions. Great service and food, we will be back
It was good. When ordering an entree thought it would come with a salad. But it either didnt or they forgot. Decent portions and reasonable pricing.
I will never go there again. The chef is a c*t. I had an operation and the chef refused to keep the spicy spice and it would have been easy to eliminate it because he shook it on my meal at the end. He refused to keep it off so I refused to give them my money until they fire him.
Great food, atmosphere and service with decent prices.
Great food. Solid service. Wonderful atmosphere
The veal marsala was very bland and a big disappointment. My husbands choice of lasagna was only marginally better. I was so hoping this would be a good place to eat, but its not. Olive Garden beats this place by a long shot.
I loved the food the prior restaurant had, and still enjoy the food at the new incarnation. Id rather they be more generous with the bread, but its great food with a great view.
This was our second visit: The first time we went was just after they opened. My husband wasnt very impressed with our first visit (I had to disagree.. The Eggplant Parm was the BEST I had ever eaten!) but after tonight he has completely changed his mind! He was VERY impressed with dinner as was I. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious and well priced. This is definitely my new favorite place to eat in Pekin.
Excellent Italian FoodMy wife and I tried Venezias for the first time tonight...both of us were very happy with everything: the food was outstanding, the staff were nice, and overall the whole experience was top notch. It was very busy, but thats to be expected the weekend after Valentines Day. But, the place is good sized and the wait wasnt too bad at all. Oh, and the tomato sauce I had on the Chicken Pomodoro was fresh and absolutely incredible. Well definitely come back!
We had a tremendous experience. The staff was fantastic and took really great care of us. I had the spaghetti carbonara
Very pretty atmosphere. Service was good. Food was great. Loved the bread
The shrimp Alfredo was the grossest thing I have ever had. My wife tried the baked Ziti and said it was ok but Olive Garden is superior...a chain store. Step up your game or more people will fail to come there.
Good portions, great food. Really underrated restaurant that deserves more attention.
Food and service is incredible. They have gluten free pasta options
Amazing food and fantastic service. Just like eating in Europe! We will be back!
Everything is just Amazing! The food, the staff, the location, the veiw, even the prices just Amazing.
Food was good, similar menu to its previous owners, probably the same. Pity the server was too young to know how to make a HOT cup of tea.
Delicious food, very reasonable prices, and great, friendly service. Everything was perfect!
Friendly staff, good service, all in my group very satisfied with the food, my biggest concern was that even though there should have been separate checks, all were on one check having to be separated by the cashier, in my estimation it would be more convient for all concerned if there were separate checks when the meal was ordered.Other than that, a very satisfactory experience, we will come back.
The food and service were outstanding! I was a bit leery in trying this restaurant after so many others have failed however the food here was excellent!!
We enjoyed our lunch together with a glass of wine. Lovely atmosphere!
2/4/19 Waiter was amazing its a great place but, went to the bar afterwards and sat there for 15 minutes, no one came to serve us. It was my boyfriends birthday and we wanted a bottle of the wine, we tried with dinner! Needless to say we left the bar, the hostess watched us walk in, and then proceed to watch us walk out! Why didnt she serve us or get someone to???
Great food, excellent service, the manager personally welcomed and thanked us. So good to have a quality restaurant on here again.
Great Italian food, cooked fresh! Even on Valentines Day! Good service, even though they were swamped. Ill be back.
First time there and was pleasantly surprised. The staff, awesome, the food just as awesome. A little more pricey than I expected.
Poorly ran. No appetizers available. Under staffed, at one point credit card machine went down, manager didnt know how to fix it. I gave him suggestion on how to reset system. However, he choose NOT to listen. We have same machine at work! Terrible experience.
Very expensive for decent food.
Amazing view and fantastic food. The plate was enough for two people and the bread was fantastic
Our first visit. It was Valentines day and we got there at the end of the mad rush. So they seated us and got us drinks and bread, we had to wait a bit to order as they got caught up . Not a big deal for us, especially in that relaxing atmosphere. Food was EXCELLENT, and cost was on the cheaper side I thought. As others said I couldnt read my ticket but when they rang it up it was exactly what i calculated off the menu prices so I didnt mind. We will definitely be back, i hope at one point they offer outdoor seating. Not sure which of the family there are the owners but they all were above and beyond nice and friendly.
Too much Marinara sauce for me. Good food and hot.
Great bread, ine of the best rolls ever. Friendly attentive waitress. But we waited nearly 2 hours for food. Didnt get it so we left as did the table beside ours
Nice ambience for a relaxing dining experience. Consistent food and service.
Delicious variety of food, not too pricey, good service as well.
Absolutely fabulous food, love coming here for date night with my husband.
Excellent food and outstanding service! Worth the drive from Peoria.
They have absolutely amazing food and the best service Ive ever gotten, will definitely be eating there again
Nice dining experience...a bit pricey
Great (fast) service. Excellent food !
Our waitress was friendly and attentive but the food was subpar. I didnt think it was possible to mess up a dish as simple as spaghetti. The noodles were saturated and overcooked, the sauce was straight from a can, and the meatballs were unseasoned and flavorless. Take a few extra minutes and drive to Peoria for much better Italian. Rizzis, Paparazzi, PVII, Biaggis, or even Olive Garden would be a better way to spend $15/dish.
Excellent food and service. Beautiful inside.
Good Was good, Prices Not to bad, Waitress was a bit Scatered but all in all a good Place
Food was AMAZING but floors were sticky and the bill doesnt show taxes or a total.
This was just an odd evening of dining. Our server was polite but seemed a bit inexperienced. Service was slow, water refills were slow, plates didnt get cleared, etc. Another server came over with napkins and refilled water. There were 9 people in our party and three of us ordered the salmon piccata. When the meals came out it was quite obvious that instead of salmon, they served us a white fish. We called the server back over and explained that it was not salmon and she said she would send the manager out. A guy then came out and asked what was wrong with the salmon. We actually kind of laughed and said, there is no salmon. He looked at us like we were kind of crazy and I showed him that the fish was not salmon but looked like cod or some other white fish. He actually studied it for a moment as if I were incorrect. Now, Im not a fish expert BUT if you dont know salmon from pretty much any other fish on the planet then the restaurant biz may not be for you. He cleared our plates and left without any explanation, apology, nothing. A third server then came out and apologized for the mix up stating that the wrong fish was delivered this week. So they are passing white fish off as salmon anyway and hoping no one will say anything? This was so weird. The manager also never came back out. This new server was very outgoing and obviously more experienced so I can see why they sent her out to smooth things over. We ordered new entrees and were not charged for them or the faux salmon. The food was very good. This building has housed so many different restaurants and its always sad to see yet another close but I dont think this place will last if they cant do better than this.
Best Stromboli Ive had in a very long time.
Everyone was so nice there. Best restaurant Ive ever been to.
Wonderful . Great homemade food, great personable service with ambience of course .
7 in group Justin The Waiter put everyones order on one bill. We asked for 3 bills but he said separate after eating. He never! Then while eating asked for more dinner rolls and he said it was $1.00 per dinner roll!!! No salads with spaghetti meals thats extra!!! Lets just say there was NO Tip!!! Cold inside just about like being outside!!!
The food was very good. The staff was very nice and we had great service.
Stopped in for lunch, great meal for the price. The Stromboli was Amazing
Food was excellent but service was very slow.
They closed the restaurant without telling me. I was waiting for shifts to pay my bills. No call, nothing! :(
Very good food, service, and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Great authentic Italian food with friendly and knowledgeable staffMany choices at good prices
