Ashley provided excellent service and advice for first time visitors. The crawfish queso was a really good appetizer but even using boxes we did not make it to dessert. Had the shrimp and grits and the bbq shrimp and grits. The bbq had more flavor but they were both great. Side cups of seafood gumbo and andouie (thanks spel chek, for zero help other than to suggest I had android gumbo) gumbo were spot on as well. Very slight quibble in that the jalapeno cornbread was sweet cornbread (or as my dads family calls it, Yankee cornbread), not bad I just prefer savory cornbread.
Great lunch place, i work close to there and always leave with smile on my face and belly.
Fried Turkey!Ordered one. Loved it. Bought my own turkey fryer to celebrate. Wish I could do as well as they did...
My first visit to Cajun Specialty Meats was a big disappointment, based on the food that was served to me along with 2 deserts that were ordered to go. I was not impressed with the Fried Gator Basket. The heavy breading was fried so crisp, that I could not taste any meat. The Specials of the Day board touted the Fried Sweet Potato Bread Pudding as being ...yum yum... The bread pudding in the to-go boxes was burned, charred on the underside and deep brown on the top. I called to complain, referencing the paper receipt ticket #762159-01 Station 5. When the manager called me back to discuss my complaint, he promised to make it up to me. I never heard from this establishment again. I do not like or recommend a business like this. However, after posting this negative review, the manager called me again, asked for my address, and mailed a $20 gift card to me. The first visit was terrible, but I will adjust the star rating now.
THE BEST !!!!!!! Very great people as well..............
Stopped in for Lunch the other day... The Chicken Burger plate lunch was Awesome.. those Broussard boys sure know how to cook; I highly recommend it for a casual lunch and something to go for dinner at home later
Fantastic food... absolutely stuffed! Very very very nice staff. Delmae? We will be there again soon. Try the sweet potatoe fries...they are much better here than any where I have tried. Great shrimp poboy.
Outstanding prepared food and best deer processor in town. Friendly atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended.
I have been here several times with my family. It is a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but the food is delicious. My first meal was a gator-poboy sandwich, and I have been addicted ever since. My only critique isnt even about food. Its about the parking lot, location, and building size. The restaurant is very blink and you miss it. I think its next to a car shop. The parking lot is inclined and VERY tiny. Ive never been on a slow day because I dont think they have them (lol). They also sell meat (seafood, swamp food/alligator and crawfish, and turkeys).
I have eaten here more than I would like to admit and never had a complaint. So getting a deer processed here was an easy decision. I was very happy with the price, especually with all of the different options that are offered. I had 3 tenderloins stuffed with different stuff and so far those are great. I also got the snack sticks I took a bite from each bag and threw them all away. I also ordered summer sausage and when i unwrapped it the smell was amazing but looked like spam, after i took a bit i would have rather had spam needless to say i threw that away. I also had sausage made for my dad and he cooked it and threw it away. I am very disappointed in the processing but will definantly be back to eat soon.
Excellent food and serve!!! Will definitely be using there mail order for Cajun food
Played music after the McGuires Run, and had a great crawfish poboy when we were done. The food and staff are quite welcoming.
Im not a food critic, but the seasoning on the fried crawfish and catfish was excellent. Probably the best Ive had. We also got the gator with blackened seasoning. Tasted just like pork. It was nice and peppery and salty. The crab dip was delicious and unique. I like that they used fried bow tie pasta for dipping rather than chips. Our waitress was very friendly and the chef personally brought my son extra shrimp when he dropped his on the floor. They even had some seasonal local blueberries and gave them to our kiddos to try. Glad we found this hidden gem. Assuming I dont get sick in the next 24 hours, I would highly recommended Cajun Specialty Meatmarket.
Awesome All around..Great meat to take home and cook and excellent lunch specials in their on site cafe......
I had the fried green tomatoes with crawfish sauce which was excellent! The crawfish and corn soup which was superb! Not to forget the crawfish etouffee was the bomb. I got the fried sweet potato bread pudding with praline sauce to go for later. There are words but I just cant put them into print.....lolWhen Harry met Sally.......lolJust a lot of heavy breathing.....lolDont leave that place without getting you some.
This is the spot for a Po Boy and Cajun cuisine. You know it is going to be good when you go to a joint where the restaurant is attached to their warehouse. Their food is absolutely amazing. Id recommend the Crawfish Po Boy and have them put on their house made cole slaw rather than the mayo, cabbage and tomato it normally comes with. You wont be disappointed! Their cole slaw is flavorful and has a nice Cajun spice to it. You can really tell the staff there loves their job and their customers.
Everything is amazing youd literally have to actually go to Louisiana to get better cajun cuisine
I have participated in the work release program whatever happened to Calvin?
I have been shopping for Chicken Andouille sausage for years as I am allergic to pork. Cajun Specialty Meats has the best Chicken Andouille. Why, because the chicken is well smoked, something that other fowl based Andouille sausage lacks. I have been on a search for years as it is a bit of a pain to have your sausage shipped. However, Cajun Specialty Meats makes it very simple and efficient. And they stand by their product. One time the shipment was incorrectly packaged. During my conversation with Cajun Specialty Meats, I explained what was wrong with the shipment and replacment was sent immediately. Not quite a no questions asked policy, but as close as you can get from a small business.I have recently been stopping by the store on the way home from the Gulf coast and have found the staff to be helpful and every suggestion for other businesses around Pensacola has been spot on.So basically, my highest recommendation for Cajun Specialty Meats in Pensacola, either stopping in or ordering for shipment to your home.
Always a pleasure. And satisfies my cravings.
Great food, great music, good drinks, & fair prices!
Best alligator poboy Ive ever had, and very affordable.
Great price on turducken.
I cant get anyone to answer the phone.I have tried all extensions and left messages but never heard back.
If I were to hunt an animal, this is where Id get it cleaned. Yumbo.
Love that food is available frozen!
Great boudin!
Authentic cajun
