Always clean and organized. Definitely an important facility of savings for retired military.

We shop here often. They carry items that you cant find in civilian supermarket stores. Very clean and friendly place to shop. We found the the meat products are superior to those on outside supermarkets and much cheaper. They have a box freezer next to meat station that has reduced meat at very cheap price. Sometimes we find they have a case sale every now and then. They announce special over the intercoms when they received to much of one thing. During holidays they make sure they are well stocked for your holiday needs. Always a clean place to shop. Active and retired military plus DOD employees shop here.Families of those mentioned with ID cards can shop. NAS Pensacola at the corry station on Hwy 98.

Nice, clean commissary. Most shelves were stocked. But late Sunday afternoon some of the meat coolers were empty. They have new self check out machines that work!!! Even the touch-less credit card machine works. And the receipt was in English. No more crazy abbreviations that you don’t understand. Nice.

Not a big fan of self checkout. Takes twice as long. I was new and the lady that was at that station was a bit snotty about helping me. As a matter of fact she told me to go to a line that had 3 people in that line. I was first in line at the self checkout. She was to busy BSing with a lady that was already done but her bags hadnt been picked up. To busy BSing. Bout the only time when employees are nice is when the big wigs are their.

I always enjoy the commissary when I happen to be near one. Unfortunately, there are not enough of them.

Pensicola NAS Commissary is clean and organized. We save a lot of money by using the Commissary instead of local grocery stores in Alabama were we live. The 25 mile drive is worth the savings.

This is military, military dependents, and veterans only. The bad part is the surcharge which is a tax on food.

The cars in line stayed up to 3 cars apart, leaving other drivers in the road or across the parking lot. They either need to put up a sign saying move forward or someone out there to get them to move up!

Todays experience reminds me why I dont shop here. This store has higher prices than Walmart and either the staff or sometimes the shoppers are just out right nasty. Today I had to scan everything twice because the cash register keeps on asking me if I .... accidentally place an item in the bag... After every one or two items come up with a warning for a staff to check on me, I feel like I have been profiled. This is the only few times that I shop here, but this is bad vibe experience for me.

Good variety and great employees

Prices are higher for most things i buy than at Walmart. Never a good stock of chicken. Last few times I went, they were completely sold out of boneless skinless chicken thighs. Workers sometimes rude/unprofessional.

Super fresh produce today. Excellent selection. All shelves were well stocked. I like that there is a variety of ethnic foods. UCC coffee!!!! One of my favorites. Fresh Sushi, cheeses, olives & antipasta. You are only going to find Choice meats and in good supply

Commissary has really gone down hill before and since the remodel. Half of the things I use to buy, I cant find anymore. The produce has been very bad for awhile now. Still there are no signs in the isles hard to find items. Its clear they are not ordering and resuppling the most popular items.. It shouldnt be hard to find the bread, the coffee, the crackers, the peanut butter that I bought before, there are always out. So I know they are not stocking to demand. Even some over the counter vitamins, and other medications are hard to find,including mouthwash.The people are great and pleasant and thats the only reason for 3 stars, otherwiseit would be 1 star.

Very limited, disappointed that the military do not take care of their own. No reason that shelves are not stock as prior to covid flu. Manufacturing has not seized. America is a great country one I am exceedingly proud of. Dont agree on the supply they are providing. We are not in short in supply. Its a shame I can go to other stores and get a better variety and supply and better pricing.

People over 65 should not be allowed to use self checkout. They dont understand fewer than 20, they cannot operate the machines, and they move slow as hell.The commissary has good prices overall, but my wife and I have seen moldy produce. We prefer to drive farther and get our groceries at Walmart. We generally only shop at the commissary if we need something quickly.

I have used this commissary for a long, and the prices were good, and shelves well stocked. However, this time the meats have tripled in price and the shelves are bare. They have not been well stocked for a long time but the prices were always good. Its not worth making the trip anymore.

Great for veterans. Less expensive than local groceries but lacks the variety.

Portion of front side not completed. Most aisles are well stocked, nice meats and good prices. I do not see as much international products as they had back couple years ago. Overall good place food shopping and no tax.

The only reason why Im not giving 4 stars is because the store is open during construction and has no ac. Its summer. In Florida. Its hotter than hades.The produce selection this summer has not been wonderful. Everything else is always super clean, staff are always friendly! I always enjoy the privilege of going to the commissary.

It was just fine with what we were looking for grocery-wise. The main complaint was a cashier that is rude to someone every time were in there.

Prices are lower, no taxes, only a small surcharge. i.e., 54 items = $3.40 surcharge ($3.40 ÷ 54 items = 0.0629 per item. ) Commissary is located next to Navy Exchange (NEX) and prices can be about $2.00 less than at NEX, e.g., Seventh Generation, free & clear detergent at commissary $8.98, but Seventh Generation Fight Stains at NEX was about $11.97. Pet food at NEX is more expensive than at commissary.

Truly grateful that there is a commissary for us to shop at. Everyone I have encountered is helpful and kind. I enjoy the low prices no matter what others say that they can find stuff cheaper at other places. I also have liked that they offer a store brand.

Well, Ive only been in once but they dont have any isle signs up to tell you whats in each isle. So thats rather annoying. Other than that is was nice. I may have looked over it but I couldnt find a rice cooker either.

The commissary store is well worth the visit. If you are eligible to use its services, you really should do so. Currently the commissary in Pensacola is undergoing a major change. They are adding on to it and rearranging everything inside. It will be very nice, but currently is somewhat confusing and Im not quite sure where everything is yet. I will be glad when its finished, but that does not keep me from going now.

This is my second home! So many of my retail family work here! They treat us like we are a part of their big picture! We are NEVER a number to them. Connie is my favorite cashier. But I cant leave it Jamila, Shelia, David and a few others! I cant name them all. 😄😄 Not the point of my post! They are amazing and are usually well stocked. If they dont have what you looking for, at least you get a genuine hug and some laughter! Best grocery store in town! Oh, the manager is on point! He makes sure you get what you need!

Produce had fruit flies all over them.. they dont have the isles clearly labeled. There are some signs but I didnt see them until the 5th time I went in.

The commissary is a good value compared to the local stores. I bet it will be even better once the construction is completed. The only issue I have is the self checkout registers. They are not as user friendly as they are at other places. If you dont put your item in the bag right away, the machine will be sure to tell you, other times if you do it to fast it tells you to remove the item.

They run some pretty good sales. A minimal selection of International foods. Around Christmas they get in the German cookies and liquor filled chocolates though they seem to sell out quick and then no more. Currently In the process of remodeling so can get busy hectic at times. Also the refrigeration units are getting updated so when I went they were empty.Looking forward the new and improved Commissary.

I always enjoyed going to the US Navy commissary. They have a wide variety of different types of food from different countries. The employees are always so jolly and take their time to help you out. Ive always loved going to come see I would recommend if you are part of military family you should shop at the commissary.

The produce is always molded or expired. The meat is iffy. The construction while opened is terrible. With the 5% surcharge you are better off shopping elsewhere for about the same price and nicer shopping. For those who live on base I could see it being convenient for being so close. But thats it.

Not organized at all. Worst commissary I’ve been to in my 15 years. Staff would not help me find things I asked for. Lines were very long. Cashiers are rude. Parking lot is terrible. The only good thing I have to say is the baggers are nice but that’s because they work on tips. Every hourly employee is terrible. Glad I don’t have to deal with this commissary much longer.

They have a good selection. But they lose a star for their pricey snackie snacks.

I love the produce. Loads of options and great quality. Plenty cashiers and friendly employees. Ive never had to wait long to check out either. But you might want to wear a sweater, it can feel a little chilly in there.

Pay your baggers or get rid of them. I hate shopping here because of the begging that usually come with them. The mass majority of people do not need help to their car. Great shopping experience ruined by the hobos you have working for tips.

Best place to buy groceries if you are military. I bought a can of coconut waternfor $1.00 where you would pay $3.00 anywhere else. No tax except small service fee which is only a couple cents or so on the dollar.

After 23 years of shopping at US Commissary, I was thrilled to be back living near an excellent Commissary! I shop there regularly now for 4+ years. They continue to add more and more organic foods, gluten free selections and recently coffee creamers which are non-dairy. Today, lots of reconfiguration and construction so lots of good things to come!

The management (expecially the tall male manager) is very rude and inconsiderate but the store is okay. They could do better at keeping the shelves stocked but its okay most of the time.

My mother & father in law go here. I cannot because Im not a member of the military,but my family is. What I do know is their meats are very fresh also the price is awesome. The price for meats are half the cost. And we all know that the price💰 of meats this days are outrageous😞. The reason I gave 3🌟 is because of the fact that ONLY active Military Service people past & present also their spouses are only allowed to shop here. I think CLOSE family membersNOT THE WHOLE ENTIRE FAMILY should be aloud to shop here. The military should give the members 2-4 vouchers for their family members to be able to shop here. Meaning 1 voucher is for a coupleA MARRIED COUPLE but the couple MOST pass a back ground check. I think thats fair. Maybe one day non military people will be allow to shop here. Need to stock the shelves!

Not the widest variety in town, but always great quality and unbeatable prices! I love the addition of the self checkouts, makes it so much easier when I forget a tip for the baggers or when Im in a hurry. I love the sushi from here as well! I wish there were a rewards program or more coupons, but again, the prices are already so low that it probably wouldnt do much good!

I have postponed my review on this commissary, hoping the construction would be done by now. The employees aren’t the friendliest. The prices are more expensive than others I have shopped. That is saying a lot, considering we just moved from another country where we have to also pay import fees tacked onto the commissary (DECA prices) on top of the service fee as well.We have been here for four months so far, and the noise and mess is still ongoing. It’s a hot mess. They keep moving things around. Things are covered in construction dust. The produce there is terrible and goes bad very quickly. Save your money and hit the produce stand or Evermans.Yes, they will be finished with construction at some point, but I’m not sure the attitudes of employees will improve. The baggers are always very courteous.

The commissary has improved the produce area for accessibility and quality. I use the commissary for most of my grocery shopping. Meat,deli,fresh vegetables and staple goods. They could use more room and updated coolers. All.of the staff from the greeter, meat-deli staff and the checkers. Very friendly.

Excellent selection of products. Friendly staff. Baggers work for tips so they pack groceries the right way and take them to your car.

Renovations have been ongoing way too long. The temporary bathroom is unsatisfactory. Trying to find items is like playing a game of chinese checkers. The dairy cases are impractical with doors that dont close properly. The less than adequate original bakery has been improved to worse. I dont plan to go back until the construction is complete

I bought my grandsons Christmas clothes and my Supervisors cologne, and it was all within a great deal. Wish I could shop here more often💯

Exactly what you expect from a commissary. All the good stuff you find in any commissary, and fresh produce. Good location to NEX, furniture store, package store, and a couple of fast food places.

Clean and mostly well stocked. Fair to slightly above average customer service. Most of the Buggys are in great shape. Cant beat that value!! Best service is the great and consistent hours.

I went to the commissary today, one of my favorite things I look for in the fresh baked goods is the Chocolate Chunk Cookies. It is spotty at best to find them in stock. Today there was a Lady stocking the baked goods and I asked her if she had any of my favorite cookies, she said she did but had not brought them out yet. She made no offer to go get some and the table she was working only had 4 or 5 items. I did t see any sign of any get the customer what they are shopping for.My opinion is one needs to find another business because her heart is t in to this.

Finally the VA announced that veterans are now permitted on the base to use the Commissary & NEX stores there is a big savings and no taxes just wonderful + they carry value products according to my wife and great savings to the vet & the wife.

We understand the long lines because of the virus. All were courageous.

Excellent place to save money in life supplies and groceries. Often, their organic selection is not restocked as it’s much more affordable than out in town and gets picked over pretty quick. However, it’s a very good commissary compared to other bases around the globe. Totally worth the drive from downtown pensacola.
