A few times, Ive had cashiers that werent the friendliest, BUT.. they have a few cashiers that ARE super friendly and kind and they make up for the others. Customer service really can make the biggest difference. Even if the store had nothing I needed or a terrible selection, I still leave happy when Im treated well.

Excellent source of EXPIRED items. Shockingly it never ceases to amaze me that 1 in 4 items on the shelf always seem to be conveniently expired. This applies to numerous items. BUYER BEWARE

I hadnt been to Safeway in years. I loved that it was nice and clean well organized. There was someone waiting in the aisle to assist you. In fact there were sales associates all around engaged in conversation with the customers. I found it very refreshing. When my friend needed assistance she was not just point it in the direction the person escorted her to the aisle where she could find the product. That is a detail that is lost in these pop up grocery stores these days.

This was the first time in this location. We stopped in for some vegetables for a dinner at my cousins house. They did have a sale on the frozen veggies, but I wasnt expecting them to be nearly sold out. My god-daughter wanted spinach, and we barley could find any. Found only one box of the steam spinach and then purchased 2 bags of the vegetable blend for the adults.Check out was kind of crazy. There was only 1 cashier for check-out, and the other option was self check-out, which was also a wait.

The store is clean and workers are generally friendly. I was a little disappointed on this particular trip because I went for some bakery items and they were unavailable and also the cut flower selection was not great. (My sister and I have gone out of our way to come to this store on occasion because they normally have a fantastic cut flower selection and the flowers last a long time). Prices here are generally good and they usually have a fairly decent selection. I will continue to ship this location and do recommend it.

I have never been to this store when its properly staffed. Never. Maybe its only when I go. I rarely leave negative reviews but something needs to be done. The lines are always way longer than any other store Ive been to. There is no self checkout and Ive been here on multiple occasions where there is only one register open. It almost makes sense driving 10 minutes out of the way to save time waiting in line. Yet I keep punishing myself. Year back it wasnt this bad. 2 lines open on Mothers Day. How dense or lacking in experience can you be to have 2 out of 10 registers open on Mothers day. The lines extended from the register to just about the back of the store. Did mothers day come as a surprise? Same time. Every year. This store is in a prime location. Shouldnt be that strapped for money that you cant hire 2 more employees. Those employees who do work here are great. Will adjust review when things are up to reasonable standards. Thanks.

Nice selection of pies, cakes and other desserts. Large selection of gift cards. Reasonable prices. Has grocery purchase point system accumulating towards gas station purchases. Friendly checkout, bakery and meat department employees.

Perry Hall Location. Huge Selection but the lighting and overall decor needs to be redone. Very dark in there.

Cashiers are nice and friendly. I had a problem finding a item. Staff member even looked in the back for me. Definitely will visit this location again.

Cashier on register one today around 1:30 pm… don’t greet every customer, and when he asked me if I had a club card, I said, no… he didn’t offer any opportunity to get one as I had multiple items on sale . And after I paid full price for my items .. which I don’t mind.. I said.. so where is the customer service to offer me a card as cards should be offered at the register especially when there are items on sale and apparently I don’t have a card … Safeway really needs to train on customer service with staff as this store is known for bias interaction with customer ms of ethnicity and it’s very sad .

I love Safeway quality of food, the flowers, seafood and deli department etc. Its just a grocery store that is way to high for me and overpriced items. I prefer to shop here only for my favorite candles, my favorite Sunflowers or just when I have a small grocery list.

No self checkout in here. Only 2 checkout stands open July 3rd when everyone is trying to buy for the 4th. Been in line not moving for almost 10 minutes.Either get some people checking or put in some self checkouts!Other than that there was stock, it seemed clean.

Can only find cherries at Safeway this early in the season. Bought some sweet beauties. I can almost always count on their fruits . Perhaps because theyre a California based store.Got my first dose of Covid vax from the pharmacy-painless!!

I no longer shop here, the lines are unbearably long, that store director has been extremely mean to select individuals (staff and even my own mother got the talk of “this my store now, don’t like me, don’t shop here”) and the employees man, even with masks on you can tell the pride from doing their job is absolutely gone, it’s kind of like a zombie like state, the departments always look good but the employees look like they have the life sucked out of them. Also, Has anyone seen a front end manager there besides the lady behind the counter? Anyone at all?

I love Safeway. Everything from customer service, cleanliness and most importantly always having all that Im searching for available. Great sales and friendly staff are much appreciated.

Very good place to shop for a selection of needs. It was a pleasure to see that they also use the same Safeway offers as our local Seattle Safeway stores.

Another mediocre experience like many grocery stores and fast food establishments the staff does not pay attention to what you are asking them, i asked for dollar bills and quarters change and the cashier just handed me a $5 bill which I had to inconveniently go and break somewhere esle so i could use their pay air pump this may seem trivial how i am tired of entry level staff that cannot do basic tasks and simply list or communicate with a customer this is an easy fix, listen to the customer, instead of diverting workers attention with fund raisers and promotions at the register maybe we need to get these people to focus on fundamental aspects of their job like being friendly, bagging groceries correctly and not using 15 bags for 3 items and listening to what the customer is communicating to them.

This store is really quite unprofessional. The managers are mannerless and basically hide out while the cashiers do all of the work. The store manager, Veronica Ayala, is incompetent and clueless. Bad place!

My favorite pharmacy! I also love how nice, knowledgeable and friendly the employees are. The butcher literally explained to me how to prepare and cook a rib roast for thanksgiving. Trust me, I needed the help. Nothing but great things to say about this Safeway.

Well Walmart is Walmart its not as good as it once was but it can get the better. Lets get some more cashiers back

Safeway is literally directly across the street from my house It would be the most convenient place to shop. However in as long as they have been open they have never been a great grocery store they have never had great customer service they have not always had the items they advertise for sale. Now throughout the pandemic understandably social distancing is a priority. However when your grocery store that does not offer self checkout to open lanes on a Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. is pretty unacceptable especially when your associates dont know how to redeem monopoly prizes at register and its holding the lines up. This morning with no exaggeration I grabbed 2 bagels went to the express checkout in which I was the 6th person in line there was a second lien open with no light on taking larger orders. I stood waiting as others did for over 10 minutes until I sat by bagels behind me on the display and walked out. And if I havent already mentioned this is by far not the 1st time I have walked out of Safeway after becoming aggravated with the lack of knowledge the lack of training. It seems like No one is really worried about the customer. Lastly.Check your reciwts!! I cant even count the number of times Ive had to go back over when Ive been overcharged for an item or double charged from item.

A very clean, friendly, and enjoyable shopping experience. I drive past so many other stores just to buy their fresh Asiago cheese bagels from the bakery on weekend mornings.

Its a grocery store. Standard fair, a bit pricey. Has a Starbucks inside, but it doesnt have everything and doesnt participate in all promos/deals. Its a bit dark inside the store. No self check out lanes. Long lines and only a few registers open.

Love this store as compared to other stores in the Parkville area.

Store was well maintained. I found what I needed. The young man who checked me out, Travis, was quick efficient and friendly. If there were more workers like him it would be a bonus to any store.

Visited today. Young man bringing back carts from parking lot was not wiping them down, just put them back. I asked him if I could take the cart and he acted like I wasn’t even there. But the freakin masks are required. Do it right or don’t do it at all.

Always only 1 cashier, no self checkout

I’m sure everyone has gone to get in line at the store/grocery store and they 10 check out lines with 1 open and a line to the back of the store, right? Not at Safeway Perry Hall! They’re absolutely wonderful and will always get my business. They have great prices & sales, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and they’re always giving back to the community. I wish I could give them more stars than 5.

Good place. Been here a long time and expect it to continue that way. Very reliable as I can stop by any time of the day to pick up anything I need. Really good folks there.

I shopped here this morning while we are all coping with the outbreak and the store appeared clean, was reasonably stocked and being actively stocked and the employees fantastic. Competitive pricing, stocked shelves, could benefit from self checkout as their always seems to be a wait in line for maybe one or two items that you have.

I went to this place a few days ago to pick up some cheese and wine. I cant say enough about how awesome it was! The staff was as friendly as can possibly be and the store itself was immaculate and simply gorgeous!

I never write reviews, especially negative ones, but after today’s shopping experience, I couldn’t help it. This Safeway is always stocked well and I always find everything I need so that isn’t the issue. The issue is the cashiers. I worked retail for years, and I know it can be a tough job at times, but this is probably the worst experience I’ve ever had with customer service. The first time I encountered an issue with one of the cashiers, my food didn’t ring up the right price. She then proceeded to ask me if she should call a manager or if I was just going to pay. The next couple of times the cashiers just looked miserable and barely said a word to me the entire time. Today’s experience was the worst though. I walked over to one of the cashiers and set my items on the conveyor belt. He didn’t say one word to me and just started ringing up my stuff. I asked him how he was doing and he said one word, and that was it for the entire rest of the time I was in line. When I was done paying, I thanked him and once again, he didn’t say anything. It was like it was physically painful for him to be friendly and courteous. These experiences are what make me hesitant about shopping here.

No self check out, so check out is pretty slow if theres a few people in line. Otherwise its a pretty standard grocery store.

I visited the pharmacy and have bought groceries there before. They make there own breads as in bagels, donuts, cakes, loaves of bread, and deserts.

On my most recent visit to safeway, I was not satisfied! There were 2 people working the deli and a lot of people waiting. The one lady thought it would be a good time to take a break leaving a new male employee to man the deli orders alone. Because of that I had to wait 20 min just to have my order taken. Another 25 min for the new employee to slice the meats. Not his fault but the lady should have never left him by himself with so many customers waiting.

I love this store. Best bakery and floral dept of any grocery store nearby. Huge selection of products throughout the store .See things here I dont see in other stores. Always well stocked and spotlessly clean. Never had issue with cashiers. Was in there yesterday and cashier last night especially polite and friendly. It is a more expensive store but they do have good sales/deals if you have a Safeway card.

While the items may be a bit overpriced, the service was excellent. Some of my favorite employees are the cashier Damon for his excellent manners and always making sure everything is good before I checkout, and Tim from seafood for his approachability and humor. There are many more great employees and overall I definitely recommend giving this store a chance if you havent already.

I like Safeway in general. Produce is always fresh and a very good variety. Prices are slightly higher than other chains, but the club card, the quality and variety make up for it.

Cashier Breanna thought she could belittle me, by asking me sarcastically, what chicken did I want to put back as there was a limit on purchase. First of all, if you have chicken buy one, get one free, and I have three packs, my free pack of chicken is not being purchased, as it is free, per advertisement . Life is to short, to make life decisions on what not to purchase .I chose not to buy any meat from this store and was happy to make my purchase at Giants . Now, as for Breanna, if you choose to talk about a customer, make sure you talk after the customer leaves the store, as you are very unprofessional, and need training on proper sales and how to calculate purchases properly. If you cant greet every customer properly, you dont need to work with the public .

Usually have a delicious store baked pound cake but I came in to get half of one and they dont look the same so I didnt get it I looked at the deli Fried Chicken they had and no one wanted to wait on me they were fussing at each other so I left not a good visit my cashier when I left I got a couple things was very nice
