Used them to move from CA to VA, very happy with them! They charged exactly what was on the binding estimate, they arrived on time, delivered 6 days later! No damage to anything! The driver communicated along the way, and was also helping load and unload. They were slightly more expensive than the other two major movers we spoke to, but worth every penny!

When ever I called I received clear helpful information. For such a large move from a home across the country this a big investment but a good value to have all arrive safe and sound. I received updates along the way about the ETA of my truck. I was so pleased to have the same driver (David) for the entire trip. Wow! No one could ever equate moving with any type of fun activity, but Robb and Messer made our move a whole lot easier. Dave Robb was very helpful, patient and accommodating when we contacted him, and didnt change despite a number of adjustments we were forced to make to our schedule - both in date and destination. The crews (both loading and unloading) were friendly, on time and extremely careful with our furniture and boxes. We have not found one thing even slightly damaged from the move. We would highly recommend Robb and Messer.

Great team of four guys from Robb & Messer! I had a scheduled a 2 day move which included moving stuff to my storage unit but the guys did it in one day! Very hard workers—did not even stop for lunch even though (because I’m a mom) I told them to. Adjusted my rate to the one day and wrote out a very professional receipt. They even organized my storage unit so now I’m not embarrassed every time I open it. Overall great experience!

Moving is stressful and is never flawless. Generally, we had a positive experience with this company. The down side relates to the unloading at our new home. The assistants to the driver were 2 hours late. While one was clearly experienced, the second was not. All who assisted were very nice, but sadly many scratches, that could have been prevented, were left on our wood floor. Additionally, the movers did not re-assemble many of our furniture pieces once they were placed in our new house. We did not realize this until the next day.

I was thrilled that I was able to find movers to handle moving a large fountain in my backyard. Dave was very friendly and easy to work with. His team was able to come to my house the same week I called, and within an hour had safely moved the fountain exactly where I wanted it. Furthermore, they are very honest. I accidentally overpaid the crew, and they knocked on my door a few minutes later and returned the extra cash! We needed a moving company on short notice, and Robb & Messer came through beautifully. They worked smoothly around the regulations set by the property management company, had a friendly, competent & efficient team on site at the right time and moved everything in the 2-bedroom apartment very rapidly. The whole process was done well under schedule, and the final bill came in significantly under the proposed quote.And: not a single item got broken or damaged. Would highly recommend.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They loaded the truck June 9 and JUST TODAY I was told my things would be delivered ON JULY 19TH!!! Over a month to drive 1700 miles? Pack mules would have been here much sooner. What a complete waste of my time and money. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS

I can say that my experiences have mostly not been positive, at the same time I can say that Robb and Messer was very different in a good way! Dave who quoted the job was well put together, friendly, informative and straight forward! Luis, the office coordinator was on top of all details until the day of the move and took care of everything seamlessly. The moving crew under the leadership of Evan was amazing! They packed and moved quickly and effectively, didnt damage a thing and where friendly and courteous. At no point in time did they solicit tips or milk the click like so many others I worked with in the past. I really can’t thank their team enough.It all started with U-Haul coming up zero they day before a reserved trailer for a move from Northern California to Long Beach, CA. I rang up (after these reviews) on a Sunday afternoon and Dave answered. Confident and Encouraging I could take a deep breath. A quote (very reasonable) followed the next day.Bare in mind I had already driven from south to north for a second time and though able stay with my parents the time I could spend away from home was at a premium. A big work assignment was closely pending.Between the calls on time expectations they set I had a very clear idea of when they would arrive and unload my storage unit, delivery time, arrival in Long Beach.Add to that EVERYTHING arrived very well packed, undamaged, and well secured.They really came through when we needed it most.

I would recommend Robb & Messer in a heartbeat to anyone needing moving services for both local and out of state moves. My fiancé and I moved from Northern California to Atlanta and not only was Robb & Messer willing to bring us free boxes and materials to pack up our apartment but they were incredible responsive and on time throughout the whole process. Moving out of our apartment was a breeze and all of our stuff arrived in Atlanta undamaged. They acted as a great agent for North American Van Lines who also were very professional during the unloading process. Moving can be a stressful thing, but it wasnt even close to stressful with Robb & Messer helping us out.

Ive hired dozens of moving companies in the SF Bay Area and this by far has been the worst experience.I moved from the Bay Area to Portland metro. My belongings arrive three days late. Which doesnt sound so bad until you realize it took them TEN days to make an 11 hour drive. Not good. They said they had truck problems, but if you check their better business bureau and second yelp account review, it seems like they wait to combine your delivery with another local delivery which seems fishy. Especially since they told me they were supposed to deliver to a neighboring city that day. If you work from home like me, and need a reliable delivery date lest you lose income.... look elsewhere.On moving day, they refused to take my small succulent plants and a thin cactus (they literally have a photo of them moving huge outdoor plants in pots on their Yelp). Cool.When they finally arrived late with my belongings, the real fun began. The driver and his helper did not wear masks (the younger guys unloading the truck did, and they were awesome but to my knowledge unaffiliated) One of the first conversations I had with him, he randomly started ranting about how sad and pathetic Biden was. Im not a trump supporter, I voted for Biden, so it was super awkward and weird to bring up divisive politics when I hired professional movers to be, ya know, professional.... awkwardthey broke the arm off an expensive dining chairthey informed me they RODE MY ELECTRIC BIKE around their warehouse to try it out, probably while I was waiting for my late delivery :) Mind you, this bike is worth 7k. Completely disrespectful of your belongings.they looked up my house on what Im assuming was Zillow or something like that, and commented on the date it was sold? Weird and invasive.while I was signing the paperwork he randomly started talking about his divorce and how his ex wife was physically abusive, very uncomfortable.before I hired Robb and Messer, I had contracted a Umove pod for 3x less than what Robb charged me. I decided to go with professional movers, in the hopes that although it would be more costly, it would be an overall more pleasant experience. I was wrong. The driver was nice enough I guess but I hired you do to a professional job, not debate your politic views, try out my belongings for fun, and refuse to follow state issued mandates (masks indoors).

The packing team, particularly Jason, was great. Efficient and pleasant. Giovanni and Juliano, who unloaded at the other end went out of their way to be helpful. Never had such a good move. Luis is very pleasant and professional, as is OJ. Thank you for making it easy!

Robb & Messer handled my move from California to Colorado. The price was reasonable and the service was great. I had belongings in multiple locations in California (my house plus two lockers at a storage facility), and needed a delicate antique crated for the move. The movers (Mike and Dale) and the crater (Ron) were efficient, professional and friendly, and they all did an excellent job. Everything arrived in perfect condition and was placed exactly where I requested in my new home. Definitely would recommend Robb & Messer!

During the unpacking, the movers broke several items. They did not tell us until after they left. We had already given them a generous tip for a job (we had thought) well done. By telling us AFTERWARDS about the broken items, we had already given our tip and could not get it back. The Petaluma office was not helpful in resolving this. We would not use these movers again and do not recommend them

I did a move from SF, in Pac HTS, to Newport Beach for a stop and partial unload and setup, then on to a storage facility. These guys were great. Dave really understood my move and cared about my things which made me comfortable. We developed a game plan and I got a bid, that they later came under, which was gratifying and made me really respect them. The move went off without a hitch and Dave made sure I had a top foreman. Ron. Wow do I recommend this guy and the crew he put together. Just excellence and patience and care and great respect. I would absolutely recommend these guys wholeheartedly!

My wife and I moved between states. We called around but the movers we spoke with just didnt seem to care about getting our business. That all changed when we called Dave Robb at Robb and Messer. He quickly scheduled time to see the home we were moving from, got us a bid, answered all our questions about the move (and we had a lot), scheduled on the dates we needed, and dropped off supplies that we asked for. The move was over two days, one day for packers to come and help us pack what we hadnt done ourselves, then the load on the truck the next day. Everyone we worked with was great and really responsible, taking very good care of our belongings. The truck arrived with in just a few days, nothing lost, nothing broken. A really great experience.

They came to my parents home to give them a quote for moving, just moving. My parents were doing all the packing themselves. They said it was going to be over $5,300 because he pays every mover $70/hr. When my mom said that was really high and they would get more quotes, he was snide and told them they would not find anyone for less. They did. The people they hired are charging $2,500 and told her there was no reason for anyone to charge $5,300 for their job. I suspect this company thought an elderly couple who moves after 30 years was an easy target to overcharge. Not cool!

Im not usually someone who write reviews, but after the phenomenal experience with these movers at Robb & Messer, I had to make sure I did the responsible thing and share with the virtual world how amazing these guys are!I had contacted these guys in the last minute, and they were able to accommodate me in very short notice, and also manage multiple requests - picking up from various spots and dropping off to San Francisco. Many other moving companies were hesitant to help with the move in the city and required a much earlier notice to get a parking permit, but these guys were able to work around those issues.The movers themselves were very professional, efficient, and just good guys. The price is completely fair, and I cant recommend them enough! These are the only guys I am using for any moves, and will also recommend to everyone else looking for movers. He clearly has a lot of experience and answered all our questions clearly. This gave us confidence in accepting the terms. When moving day arrived Scott and his crew moved our stuff out orderly and efficiently. When Scott told us that he was personally driving our belongings and unloading in Alabama we breathed a sigh of relief… we knew we were in good hands. Things went just as smooth on the other end of the move and the entire process involved less worry (none, really) than we anticipated. All things disassembled were reassembled, even a bicycle. With a fair amount of breakable objects – nothing was lost in the move. No surprise charges or fees.We don’t think you can find a more honest, hardworking company that you can trust with your move.

Handled my move from SF to Texas on short notice (1 week). They were able to commit to the move in the timeline I needed. They showed up on time and with an adequate crew to get the job done, even handling some very speciality items with crating (paintings, a very heavy sculpture, and a pool table). Ive moved somewhere around 16 times in my adult life and this was one of the smoothest experiences Ive had.

I used this company last year and they have been keeping my stuff in storage (a very comparable cost I might add). They were very prompt, professional and easy to work with. We just moved from San Francisco to San Diego and used Robb & Messer Moving and Storage. We have moved frequently in the past and have a lot of experience with movers.I was impressed with the ease of communication with Dave Robb. He was always friendly and easy to get in touch with. That clinched the sale in the beginning.It all went way downhill from there. The packing was worse than horrible. Expensive things werent wrapped and were just dumped and piled into boxes. As a matter of fact, forget about them using packing material. If they find something that they want to wrap, they save money by using your fine linens to wrap things in. They will fully take apart your linen cabinet unfold and jam everything to do this. Furniture was nicked, scraped and banged. Brand new flawless All-Clad cookware,... all scratched up. Liquids broken and spilling out leaving plenty for you to clean. Four pieces of dry cleaning that I just picked up were rolled into a ball (there goes another $30 in SF dry cleaning charges out the door). Oh! and if you write Fragile on something to make them aware of it, you can rest assured that you will find it exposed, at the bottom of a box, underneath heavy tools that theyve piled on top. To top it all off, my home was just filthy after they left.Beware of the cash discount. Your credit card company cant dispute it and protect you.Bottom line: I have never felt so violated as when I opened up these boxes and saw the total disregard and carelessness for my property. Your guess is as good as mine where all of these 5 star reviews are coming from, (they were probably moving mulch or manure for these people).

A year ago, in 2016, Robb and Messer moved my household from San Francisco to a small town in Northern California. From Daves initial walk-through, to packing two trucks, to the load-out at both storage units and a house, I liked what I saw. What impressed me most were the people. Without exception, they were friendly and professional. Nothing I asked was too much trouble. And Dave hit the estimate. If I were moving again, I would use these guys in a heartbeat. No question. Highly recommended.

Dave Robb and his team were really great. They helped organize movers and a van line (Arpin) to get our stuff from California to Florida. Our items arrived safely and in a timely manner. Our California packers were extremely meticulous and the packing took longer than expected since they went way detailed into the disassembly of our stuff (for ease of loading the truck), but a bit to my dismay. The only thing off was that there was a bit of a communication gap when it came time to finally know the exact pick-up day/time, between the move assessment and what the driver/packers were told (they seemed not to know theyd have to disassemble furniture), and also when we updated phone numbers. Otherwise, very smooth, and Id definitely recommend them. I really liked their quote system and how they used video to assess the initial costs.
