Too much stuff (inferior quality junk) made in China!I bought some pistachio nuts and then discovered that they had a Best By Date 3 months past! They smelled and tasted bad. Im planning to return them.

Inconsistent product options. And seriously its 7 and theyre closed! Who the hell closes at 7?! Covid is over and some people would like to shop late. I love how all these stores have senior hours but they cant have any late-night hours.

If you like a good find, this store is for you. Great, somewhat random selection of products you need and some didnt know you needed. Crazy deals give you up to 100% back in store credit on select items.

In these covid times, OSJL has stayed pretty constant. Its not the Ritz, but you can find art supplies and bath towels and tee shirts there. And some of their foodstuffs are good.

Ive always loved ocean state. This one is close to where I live and love the odds and ends items they sell.

Store is organized for the the most part. Flowers looked in need of some attention. Parking lot is awful with the pot holes

They definitely have a little bit of everything but not a whole lot of everything. Job Lots can be cheap with the products they carry but other products seem just as expensive as any other store. Its a fun place to look around to see what you can find.

Sometimes there is a wait in line but the saving is worth it. They try hard to keep it clean and remind people nicely about personal space. This is a place you need to take your time in and you will find a lot of good deals.

Had all the odds and ends I needed for camping and then some, they have always been a go to place when you couldnt find what you need at the Walmart in Rindge.

I feel as though Job Lot is like on step above goodwill and thats because of the food but even that . Its like 9 out of 10 things youve never heard of. Dont even get me started on the cashier. That male/female was so annoying. I was in a hurry and one of the items did not have a price tag on it and I said forget about it and that person was like no Im gonna look it up in the book hopefully doesnt take Me to Much time verbatim they said that. Then they go through the book as theyre saying oh i hope youre not mad. Theyre on top of all that you had some scruffy looking employee that can even have a face mask on properly looked like a dirty diaper stuck to his face!

I love to shop the deals at ocean state. You just need to know that these are products that are sold for a lot less and usually arrive in bulk orders. There are some regular things that are there each week but a lot of times these things come and go and are available for short amount of time.

Ocean State in Peterborough is #1 of Job Lots in the surrounding Milford area. Beautiful drive and nice quaint town.

Its a little unorganized but got a good selection of a variety of product and bigger then some of other stores.

The place is a dump but I keep going back.

Job lots (also known as Jobbos) definitely has some good deals if you know what youre looking for. Similar to Mardens but better quality. We go for things like yogi tea, organic cereals, coconut water, Epsom salts, childrens toys etc. Pet section is very affordable.

This is a good discount store that is in a small town so it usually isnt very crowded.

The old Joblot as I call it is an excellent, family run retail business that grew out of the surplus merchandise business. I can not tell you how many items that I have gotten for free from this chain. Their Crazy Deals are just that and usually result in free or greatly reduced prices on merchandise. You can even get a multi thousand dollar, professional, full body massage chair for free at this store, its truly amazing! Their charity programs are second to none and they compel me to buy merchandise like shoes and coats for veterans and homeless people. I always do because it costs me nothing, I get reimbursed for every dollar I spend with a store credit card of equal value! They also have programs where you can pick from a variety of charities including womens and childrens programs, animal rescue, homeless, vets, etc. You contribute and they give you a store credit card equal to the value of your donation! This family is know for their charity and not only do they support many, many causes, they pay for their customers to do the same! This is unheard of and it compels me to shop here for as long as they are in business. Even more than the compulsion to get some awesome deals for myself is the respect that I have for this family to support local communities with my assistance which costs me nothing. That also inspires me to contribute my own money to help their various causes. I dont think that there has ever been another retailer in my life quite like Ocean State Job Lot. Its the original surplus retail store here in New England and now elsewhere and still the best by far! Definitely a customer for life. Thank You, Thank You!

Try cleaning the building a little. And frankly the prices are never less than Walmart. Feels like an indoor flea market

Great for discount prices with name brand items.

Our experience today was pleasant but very confusing.Path/ aisle indicators were only in the food section. No rhyme or reason to the rest of the store.The place looked like it had been picked over. Shelves were in disarray and half empty.Check out was the weirdest yet. No indicator to go to just one aisle in the food section for checkout & wait to be called. The Manager was in charge and NOT doing a very good job. Cashiers were calling his name to let him know they were available.First time we saw there was a 2% service charge on all purchases for staff on top of their $2.00 raise. (That was really weird) You had the option to get your 2% back in cash if paying by credit card.

This is just a great store to walk around and see what the heck they have always something interesting and great deals on food

Ocean State Job lots is a great place to shop and get some good deals.The only drawback is that they have so much to offer that sometimes its hard to find what youre looking for in the store.Thier store is always very clean with an atmosphere of old time general store where you can find almost anything.The staff has always been very helpful in helping anyone with locating what you may be looking for.Great store to walk around slowly and see what they have to offer!

Honestly I thought this was going to be a dead end store filled with dusty boxes and a staff stumbling around like Zombies in a George Romero flick but to much of my amazement I had great luck in this store, found items I needed some I thought you couldnt find again and some worth coming back for especially for valentines day, 7 foot stuffed teddy bear? Yes they have that. Inflatable giant Sean for the summer lake party yeah youll find that there as well as everything else you may want at a decent price, check them out seriously.

The music is way too loud and usually makes me just want to leave. They have an okay selection of stuff at affordable prices. I can usually find deals on tea, dog treats and a few specialty food items. Its a pretty good store I just cant stand the music.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. Its hit or miss finding what youre looking for as the inventory is constantly changing.

Not thrilled about this place !! Something are not priced which if you want the item you will be holding up the line . In my case I had 4 things that had no price !! I didnt bother to get them it was a beautiful morning and people wanted to get to their destination. I also wanted a Air Fryer ...no price . The courtesy Booth is somewhere else you might want to avoid ! I wanted to know if she could take me there and was snapped at !! Am new to Peterborough and am finding the people here are very snotty and snappy ! Although the liquor store in that plaza are very friendly and knowledgeable . At least their happy 😊🌷

Cheap and simple but it has some nice stuff for a good price.. Only place Ive been in lately that still has all cotton clothing.. Like shirts and pajamas, and underthings.. Great sock section too.. A little of everything really.. Got some lovely metal tables for our plants not too long ago, and they have great seasonal towels for the beach.. And nice towels for general use..

I guess Im a buzz kill or dont understand the concept of employees just got a raise then charge you extra each item at the checkout or have the option of refund? I left my items and went to Walmart... Not impressed by the lack of cleanliness in the Peterborough NH location.....

Store was nice, clean and fairly organized. Employees were friendly and helped when needed. Only thing I would say would be a negative would be they need more sizes in some of the coats, but I understand they dont carry all items regularly. Other than that, Id say the store was good to go.

Good stuff but its kinda hit or miss. The products are quality but not consistent. Bought an area rug and decided I liked it and wanted another one went back the next day and they were gone. Asked when they would have more and was told that they dont have their own line its just overflow from other places.

The manager Kevin at the Peterborough store was very rude This is the first time I have any complaint of any store or store personnel in my entire life. I went in for some supplies and an exchange of birdseeds I bought when they were on sale. It is not my fault that they put two different kinds of birdseeds in the same bin and of the same price when I bought them. I thought the seeds inside are the same, although having different packaging. They are still the same price now. But when I checked the receipt I was charged $15 more. Turned out it was not a direct exchange and the cashier didnt catch that.I dont think the wild birds care that much, and so I told the cashier that I no longer want the exchange. The manager Kevin was called to reverse the transaction. He didnt know how to process it because he said I bought other things at the same time. He was very rude when I said that I know the idiosyncrasies of computer systems (Ive been an engineer for over 25 years). He finally gave up trying and said that he would give it to me this time but not next time in a demeaning manner. He is not giving anything to me with the exchange. They are the same prices all along. In any case, Ive had it. I dont want him to give me anything. I grabbed the old bags of birdseeds and left.

Awesome discounts and the membership they have is rewarding and free! They have good snacks and some of the products they sell are very unique, ie: blankets handmade in Nepal. There is also a really nice employee team at the one in Peterborough, NH.

Checked out this store while visiting family in Peterborough and ended up spending more than an hour looking around. Picked up several things during 20% off time. Cashier, Christopher, was very kind and friendly, which was greatly appreciated.

Ocean state job lot, a place you could find a deal or two, thats for sure. A mother store in a plaza that could use some renovating, not their fault though. Sometimes they feel like a warehouse with the way some things are set up. They might just have what your looking for.

If you arent familiar with OSJL, its like a mix between a closeout/clearance store, but with a great gourmet dry food section. Sometimes its a little rough around the edges, with weird smells, but the low prices will keep you coming back.
