I love high quality sound in my car but get overwhelmed trying to figure out what I actually need, which is best, how to achieve the sound I want within my budget. I met with the manager, John, and he determined exactly what was most important to me in a sound system and then told me how to achieve that without any pressure to spend more or buy more equipment than I needed. I really appreciated his honest, knowledgeable approach. He installed a fantastic system for me that sounds amazing and is even better than I expected. And all within my budget! It was ready on time and when I picked up my car Hunter came out to my car with me so he could walk me through how everything worked. He was very thorough and patient, taking time to answer all my questions and make sure I knew how to operate it before I drove off. He even stayed past closing to help me, since I tend to be a bit technologically challenged. I will never go anywhere else again.

As someone who works for a company where we pride ourselves on the true customer service experience its rare to find kindred businesses nowadays. John at Custom Sounds is a true gentleman and scholar in the art of sound systems. Youll be hard pressed to find such a wealth of knowledge combined with years of experience anywhere else. I was very skeptical of taking anything I own back to a Custom Sounds due to a bad experience with their store on Burnet rd. I told Jon that I was hesitant and would likely do the work myself but he assured me that he would make sure the work was done correctly and to a high standard. I will tell you he absolutely delivered.Jon found me a radio for my corvette when radios are very hard to come by and he even got the install done for me the SAME DAY! I was surprised but very happy with the quality of the install. My hat is off to Jon and his crew. He is a man of his word and will absolutely shoot you straight. I appreciate that and will definitely go to him if I need anything in the future.

The phone rang 34 times guess they dont need anymore business. I was trying to spend 5000 but Ill find some place to give my money too.

They missed out on about a 1200+ dollar stereo upgrade cause they wouldnt get off the phone. Hope the install part was worth it.

I went to Custom Sounds (Pflugerville N I35) a week or two ago. I know I didn’t like the way my audio system sounded but had no idea of the type of upgrade needed. John took the time to explain my options in a way that made sense. He also made me feel comfortable that my vehicle would be secure while in their possession. Working in a Customer Service industry myself, I understand the importance of Great service. John went above and beyond any expectation I have. When I went in to the store he was working alone but was quick to acknowledge me letting me know he would be with me soon as possible. I watched as he dealt with 2 customers in front of me while he also answered phone calls.My first thoughts were how would I get any kind of service with how busy he was. Much to my amazement, he gave the same experience to each of his customers. I came in to purchase a backup camera interface module for $250 and he took the same care with me as the customer purchasing $1000. If you’re considering going here TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. The sales associate John (tall, old, white, bearded) was exceptionally rude to a Black male customer in front of me, and it made me nervous to ask my questions for fear of being condescended to. When I was finally at the counter, John was very short with answering my questions, as expected, and when I told him I received different information via the phone and was just looking for clarification and understanding, he snapped at me yet again. I felt very insulted and he even laughed along with other customers about my brief conversation with him. I also found out after I took my business to another location that he had called that location and said I “cause a scene” when I hardly said 3 sentences to the man and left shortly after I realized he wasn’t interested in helping me. I believe he made that call to keep another associate from helping me and to cover his bases in case I made a complaint. I believe John is a bigot, and if you’re a person of color, I would definitely avoid going to this location for any quality customer service.

TINT YOUR CAR WINDOWS HERE!Alex took my order, John rang me up afterward (and made REALLY sure that I understood how to care for my tinted windows until they were FULLY cured/set), and Brian...WONDERFUL BRIAN... put the tint on my car windows and made SURE there was NO WAY Id roll them down for 5 days (great sticker over the buttons!). Just today, I was sitting with the door open and the sun on me... then, I closed the door... OMG! SO MUCH COOLER! And thats the lighter, driver-window tint. The back is much darker and blocks even MORE heat. LOVE this tint!!! Thanks, guys!

We got my husbands car windows tinted. There was already factory installed tinting so they were very professional and knowledgeable about which to layer on top of it. It didnt end up as dark as he would have liked, but we had to be careful to make sure we could actually see out the windows, also.

They do a very professional job with installations and tend to have pretty good sales every so often. The only reason I didnt rate them 5 stars is because the installations and products are pretty pricey outside the big sales they have. Other than that, Id recommend this location to anyone.

He has been in the business a long time and knows everything there is to know. He can help you do everything from a basic and low budget system, to a sound system that will make sound engineers question their abilities. WOW!!! These guys are fantastic!!! First let me say that I an extremely picky customer. These guys are very detail oriented. I went in there to add a little bump to my dodge challenger . I had a product in mind and everyone was very honest and told me that what I wanted was a good product but I could get better bang for my buck with another brand. These guys did LITERALLY everything to ensure that I was a satisfied customer. The manager and sales guy was great. The installer was FANTASTIC!!! He took his time and made sure that once he was done I was happy with the product. They are not the cheapest in town but they will always work with you and when it comes to this stuff, trust me, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! I will not be going anywhere else for future upgrades!! A big THANK YOU to John and all the guys from CS Pflugerville.

I left a review on the Research Blvd shop that messed up my car/sound system, and was given an appointment at this shop to fix what the other place messed up.The regional manager ordered pieces to fix my ruined console/head unit area and said the issues would be fixed at a 10 am appointment today.Surprise! They double booked appointments today and didn’t start working on my car until 1:30. We are a one vehicle family and this is an inconvenience. And, you know, the fact that they already ruined my car and then decide to make me waste my Saturday by lying. And on top of it, a gentleman had the nerve to say something like, “don’t get upset, I have others to take care of too.” Then why did I make an appointment??I would definitely not take your vehicle here ever, do yourself a favor and do it yourself or find another place, because 2 out of 3 custom sounds I’ve been to have jerked me around, and frankly just sucked.

John and Alex at custom sounds in Pflugerville know what they are doing when it comes to radios. I was looking for a replacement for my stock radio in my 2018 wrangler jk. They hooked me up and did a fantastic job.

Dudes are cool especially the other. See em once a month and Im there no more than 15 mins. Have heard some of their sub installations and Ill be definitely going there when Im ready.

Weve taken several of our vehicles to Custom Sounds Pflugerville for Stereos. We always deal with John. Works with us and what budget we want to stay in with the options that we want. Install is always completed in the time they quote and makes sure we are happy with the work.

I hated this store! Do not go to this location! Horrible customer service! I do not recommend this place to anybody! They told me it was going to take 3-4hrs! I water the whole day and they still didnt have it done, they quoted me a price that was great, but then added 200$ more for a damn wire! This place is ridiculous, they try to rip everybody off! The manager wasnt even trying to take control of the situation. Horrible, just horrible!

Told me my head unit want working so just for curiosity I took it to frys to be tested and it worked. I almost threw away a working stereo dueto staff laziness. I felt lied right to my face.

One of the few places that will tint the little front side windows on a Mk7 GTI. Seems like a pretty fun work environment, and everyone I talked to instilled further confidence that my tint job would be done well, and it was.

I had went to custom sound in Pflugerville to hook a complete system. I met the manager name Randy. I already purchased few items from them, the price is $589. I had them do the installation that were supposedly cost me another $661.24. It was a little high price, but hey I want to get it installed correctly with no hiccup. He told me the install will takes a full day. I asked him why it will take that long to hook up a sound system. He say it because they do heart sink on the cables and wired thats why it will take that long. So I dicided to let them do the install anyway. I drop off my van at 10:00am on Saturday. In the end of the day I called him at 6:00pm he said it wont be done until 2 more hours. So I wont have my van for Saturday night. He told me hell pick me up on Sunday to take me to get my van at the shop. On the way picking up my van, he told me the installed didnt get done until 1:00am. So I dropped off my van at 10:00am on Saturday and didnt get done until 1:00am. Thats 15 hours working on my system. I felt bad for the installer so I told the manager that I will order pizza for the installer. When I picked up my van and he gave me the receipt. I found out that he had charged me for extra parts that he said he will not charge me. The total is $711.73. When I contacted him, he said if he made a mistake he will fix it. He also told me that he a person with integrity. When I found out that he charge me 2 8awg power kit when I only need one. I already had one 8awg power kit from my last system. He never gave me an answer. After he cheated me out of $50. I told him I still gonna order pizza for the installer. I want to show him wants the meaning of the word integrity. I want to show him when someone says something, they will keep their words. What he doing is bad business. He cheated me out of $50 for extra part and never mentioned to refund back the $50 he charged me. He has no integrity and should be ashamed take advantage of a paraplegic. People stay away from custom sound. They are over priced and will cheat u if u dont look at ur receipt carefully. Bad business!! I would of give him zero star and a middle finger, but have give them 1 star. Ill never gof back there anymore. The manager there is bad for business.

Went in to check on tint and a touchscreen reciever. Found a great price on the radio. Thats where the positives stop. Looked at a $400 DVD reciever. With harness, XM tuner, and installation the quote was $1050. Thats 150% of the radio cost on install. I get that they do quality install work, but damn. I can solder and heat shink the connections myself for about $20. Crutchfield sells all the needed supplies (brackets, surround, and harness for $30. XM tuner is free after mail in rebate.) And its inside my car, so waterproof connections arent really an issue. No way Im paying an extra $600 for install on a $400 reciever. Its an hour or two of labor at best, with simple hand tools. Take it to Best Buy and theyll do it for $100 if you dont enjoy doing it yourself. Ive installed my last 5 car stereos and never had a problem with doing any of the labor myself.
