Not only does This Old Wood reclaim wood from previous use in a wide variety of projects, but they work with you to find the very pieces you want and even help you refinish them to your liking.We bought these beautiful vintage wood planks from Jeff and he sanded them again and then applied an oil rub to help bring out their true beauty. It took us no time to get them hung up and filled in our new house and everyone who has visited has asked about them. One of our favorite aspects is that you can see the old nails and gaps and cracks from nearly 50 or more years of use, and now they have a new use!We highly recommend This Old Wood to anyone seeking wood for their projects. However, I do caution anyone seeking consistent and plentiful orders worth of wood that these pieces come in varying shapes and conditions, so they will be limited in their appearance of looking the same, which we personally love. Others probably would prefer buying consistent cuts from a lumber yard. Either way, we definitely will be going back for our next project. ALSO, NEARLY FORGOT TO MENTION, JEFF DOES CUSTOM WORK. Live edge tables, custom builds, shelves, benches, you name it. Just ask.

We are absolutely blown away by our farm table, thanks to the incredible craftsmanship of Jeff and his team. We have received so many compliments, and we could not be happier with our new piece. Jeff exceeded our expectations, and it was such a pleasure to work with him. We loved visiting the shop, and the best part was discovering that Jeff is originally from our hometown, Baltimore!The entire experience was such a fun and positive one, and we now have a table that we absolutely love and are so proud of. Knowledgable, Creative, Passionate and Generous. Jeff and his team are fabulous! As someone who highly values my time, I was honestly shocked at how willing they were to give me theirs. They patiently walked me all through their entire yard (twice - brought my wife back) while pointing out options of raw, reclaimed lumber. Afterward, we went up to the shop where they showed me multiple levels for finishing each type. They had great suggestions for my project (master bed, headboard, footboard), shared the work with me (I did some, they did some), and even gave me tips and tricks on how to get it done. Fabulous experience - I almost hate to share them! Oh...and there was a miscommunication along the way which resulted in two pieces needing to be replaced. Jeff wouldnt charge me extra for the work (when I clearly owned some of the responsibility for it), so I insisted on buying them lunch. WOW - Thanks Guys - looking forward to more projects in the future!

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for reclaimed wood for your project. I stopped by to look for a unique piece to make a cheese board. Met Jeff and he was great. He hooked me up with a scrap piece of pine and ran it through the wood planer for me. Definitely will be back for some reclaimed wood for my next big project. Tons to choose from.

My in-laws found This Old Wood back when they were located just out of Dripping Springs and have loved their experience for past DIY’s and projects. They were eager to recommend this place when we started building our tiny home. We came today looking for reclaimed wood for shelving in our kitchen and closet space. We were very impressed with their stock and customer service. William was very patient as we discussed our options and walked through the entire lot. He pulled out board after board to find what we were looking for. We walked away satisfied with our kitchen shelving, and empty handed for the closet space for now. We might return later or find another more cost effective option. The only reason I have given four stars, is the price point is rather high. We left with completely raw, barn wood to finish out ourselves and still paid high dollar. Again, this was definitely a good experience and I would definitely recommend This Old Wood to anyone. Just be prepared to spend a little more than you might anticipate!

They are amazing!! Totally recommend them! The wood pieces are stunning, really beautiful! They try and keep track of where the wood came from, and how old it is, etc. It was super cool to be able to tell my clients a little bit about the history behind their 120 year old piece, that will be the mantel on their fireplace! And Jeff is great, he helps with design ideas, stain colors and/or finishing suggestions, he really works hard to make sure clients are happy, I can tell he really cares! Also prices are reasonable, I work for a remodeling company and we will definitely continue to use them for future projects!

I needed very small custom pieces of wood to stabilize a desk monitor mount that didnt fit just right. I called up This Old Wood and they were able to quickly cut me the two pieces I needed from reclaimed wood! Fantastic service and overall a great customer experience.

Jeff and the guys are fantastic. A LOT of other businesses dont like to help us DIYers: not these guys. I drive from Cedar Park to Oak Hill just because they dont take umbrage when drop off material that is too big for my home workshop. They are cool and helpful and fast: they dont push me to the back of the line just because they could.I HIGHLY recommend these guys!!!

There were so many options to choose from, but I was able to find the perfect beam for our well house door header. Jeff and the others who work with him were friendly, professional and helpful in selecting, cutting and loading the beam. I will be back and definitely recommend them to friends.

They transformed 3 large slabs from a post oak tree into my new dining table. Imbedded, spent bullets from previously sighting guns are now displayed in voids they filled. Jeff, Justin and Mike were all great to work with. My one of a kind table will be treasured for many years.

This Old Wood is by far the best place I have been to for giving my house the character I was hoping for. From the owner to all the carpenters, they were helpful, creative, reliable, understanding and did impeccable work. I am looking for ways to use them again in our home.

Jeff was great and super helpful! I needed to buy some reclaimed lumber and had most of the tools for the project - except the big shop tools (Planer, Joiner). They were able to cut/plane/join - and assist with a second pass of planing (post resin fill). Nice guys, super helpful, and a lot of inventory to choose from!

Boring wood is everywhere. But This Old Wood has storied stacks. I chose not to use the old bleachers with the gum scrapped off but did like this selection from a disassembled barn. We torched it up and the final look is what I was hoping for to support my sculptural work. The guys who run the place are pretty easy to bounce ideas off of and I can’t help but feel like I was doing the environment some good while I having all that fun.

Justin and the team were amazing! So patient with me, as I knew nothing, and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Best place for unique vintage wood I’ve found in Austin!

This place used to be a great supplier for old wood and always was honest and trustworthy. Recently I trusted these past experiences of buying old wood and sent my wife down to get wood (wood I had called about twice being 2 thickness) I saw this wood this morning and it is not 2 thick but I was charged for 2 thickness. The thickness was not measured in front of my wife. Some of the wood is also glued but it was discounted slightly but not enough to account for the new higher prices. Mike was great to deal but now he is mostly retired. Jeff is in charge now and seems all about the money and not pleasing customers. I would put other suppliers above this place in the future. I did call and inform Jeff and just ask for a partial refund based on the thickness inaccuracy and this was met with I will think about it. This experience is very sad as we have spent multiple thousands of dollars with this business over the span of several years. I truly hope they can change this experience for new customers.Edited to add: Since writing this the business has contacted and stated they are sending a refund check for the difference in board thickness.

If you are looking for a custom piece from beautiful reclaimed wood with a story, this is the place to go. The first time we met Jeff, he showed us his operation and all the reclaimed wood they have collected. He could tell us where most of it came from. You could tell there was a lot of pride in their work. We had a bathroom vanity made. The communication was spot on. He made sure we were satisfied with the end result, which was a beautiful vanity with a historical story of the wood. Jeff was a pleasure to work with. They are working on another project, a fireplace mantel for us, and it probably wont be the last.

Ive been looking for an old rustic wood beam for my house for months and found the beam of my dreams at This Old Wood.I worked with Jeff, who was very helpful, showed me all the different options for the beam I was looking for, and didnt get annoyed when I wanted to look at one from the bottom of the stack.Once I picked my beam, he sanded to help the saw patterns come out, cut it to the length I needed, and helped load it in my car. The prices were excellent, especially considering the quality of the piece I purchased.Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about what he does. I couldnt have been happier with my experience and Im already thinking of how I can use some of their wood in my next projects.

These guys are fabulous. They know and honor the beauty and strength of our now almost extinct Long-leaf Pine. Not only are they repurposing the wood, they create beautiful products with wood that was once in so many of the buildings in Texas. Easy to work with, and they know their stuff!

Went this morning, no one answered the bell but we could hear people inside. I called the place, told them we were outside; he said he would be there in a minute. After 10 minutes of waiting, we left.

I needed some old barnwood for an accent wall during a recent basement remodel. I was overwhelmed with the options but Jeff, the owner, was super helpful and even cut each board to size. Great service and great quality wood!

Bought reclaimed wood from Mike once and we had a good experience. Ever since, Ive made a few attempts to contact him for more. Nobody ever answers the phone, even after leaving a voicemail. He responded to an email days later telling me he didnt have something and goodluck to me. I responded that I just wanted to come by for some other reclaimed wood and no response. THE WORST customer service ever. Its too bad because we were impressed at first but hes horrible. Thank god for EBay, look there or elsewhere for your reclaimed wood needs.
