Great place if youre looking for records, tapes, music books and used audio equipment, including turntables and reel to reel machines. As an avid collector of 45s, I do have a minor complaint. Those price stickers placed on the inner record labels are very difficult to remove and leave sticky residue. I had to use goo goo gone to remove them and that took nearly two hours for just fifteen 45s that I bought the other day. I realize dishonest people can switch price stickers, but there has to be another way to price each record individually without compromising the collectivity of VG+ and near mint original label records by placing very sticky price tags on the labels. On the other hand, getting many original label records for a $1.99 or less is a plus!! The collection this place has to offer exceeded my expectations. I even left my list of songs in the store as I was browsing your collection in excitement. Highly recommended, if you love vinyl and throwback audio components.

This place is a great find for all generes if music. I was able to find old school comedy, TV series movies and of course music. Magazines as well. Laid back and knowledgeable staff for various topics. Definitely worth checking out especially for younger crowds to see how music was once purchased. 😉👍🏾👨🏾‍🦳

I really love this store. They have a big selection of new and used vinyls and cds, among other things. What I really like is they have a website where you can shop this location and the one in Tampa, reserve items, order new items, and can pick them up at the location thats best for you. This is good for me because I dont always have time to look around, this way I search The website find what I want, reserve it. When its ready I get an email. When I get there, its waiting. I just pay, and am on my way again! The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. This location is in a good spot on your way to pretty much anywhere. If you like to look around, you could end up spending a lot of time in here, theres a lot to look at. I like to call it my music toy store.

The store is pretty big and has a lot of records.I would highly suggest to have record players available for those who want to listen to them before buying.Also the record collection is limited to mostly rock. Not House nor electronic music available.Overall, good for those who mostly focus on listening to rock, folk and blues. Jazz collection is superb.

I absolutely love this small business! They have the best selection of Cds with great prices. The staff is extremely friendly and easygoing. For those who made complaints about having to wear a mask, the staff are people too! It’s not hard to be considerate of their health and other customers too(: They are doing a wonderful job of acknowledging that there’s a pandemic but also keeping their shop open for people to enjoy. What an amazing experience!! I keep coming back to this store over others because its so inviting and affordable. The workers are really nice and the store has this homely ambience and it never fails to leave me with a smile on my face.

I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone.  Yesterday, I brought in 2 full medium packing boxes full of quality DVDs to sell (many still factory sealed) and roughly 35 - 40 Blu-ray movies (also many sealed) to sell at the Pinellas Park location.  I was told I needed to leave the movies there and they would call me back in about an hour or so to let me know when they were done, no issue.  This was around 11:40ish.  Around 3:00, I called to check in and they said they were about done with them, so I decided to go ahead and make my way there.  We came home with just under 150 dollars and 3/4 of a box of DVDs and around 20 Blu-rays left.While I was finishing up with the paperwork, I asked the employee how purchasing old audio equipment and vinyl went.  I was told for the equipment there was an email process and that vinyl was only bought on Tues.  I then explained to the employee that I would like to build a repore with their shop because Id recently gotten into buying storage units and that my last one was FULL of old vinyl and audio equipment (some still in their original boxes) and I wasnt looking to sell everything or break anyones bank but the things I wanted to get rid of I would like to have them look at to see if they would be interested (were talking serious vintage).  I told them I would bring some vinyls up today to have their vinyl person to assess.Now for some background on myself and the vinyl.  I am a broker and have been for well over a decade so I am no stranger to assessment on fair market values or simple research, so I decided to test the waters today.  The unit I bought full of the items that were made for this place were previouy assessed and deficiencies notated nearly a decade ago, so I had some idea of what is there as far as gradings.  I decided to pull 5 vintage 45s out to sell today and I would leave the remainder for them to look over the next few days.  I went into the shop interested to see what kind of offer Id get for an original Elvis Presley Steamboat Blues 45 with original slip, (an easy VG+ E-), an original Ritchie Valens LaBamba/Donna 45 plastic sleeved (VG to VG+), an original Beatles She Loves You/Ill Get You 45 plastic sleeved (G+ to VG- with a hairline inaudible crack), an original Beach Boys Dance Dance Dance/The Warmin of the Sun 45 plastic sleeved (VG+ to E-), and an original Yardbirds The Nazz are Blue/Happenings Ten Years Time Ago 45 also plastic sleeved (VG to VG+).I was told that they purchase their 45s for .25 a piece, so I asked what about the Beatles and the Elvis Presley Steamroller 45s and was told especially for those (ver batum).  I welcome anyone to get online and see for yourselves what a Beatles s-4152-s OR an Elvis 74-0910 CPKS-4728 in VG condition sells for used.  I promise you its nowhere near .25 cents and for this reason alone, I will never recommend this business to anyone. There is fair and there is this type of dealing with the public and I will choose to go elsewhere.  I will also share that while I was leaving, I did tell the vinyl expert that the records had already been assessed and I was seeing what kind of people I was potentially getting involved dealing with and that shed blown it, to which she replied, Well good luck finding another shop to buy them.  Well just so happens, I will...

Rude and unhelpful staff! They are apparently thieves as well. I wouldnt recommend stopping in here unless you want to feel ignored and patronized, or get robbed. I had a mask on in the store the entire time and was being very polite, I took the mask just down off of my nose to get a breather for a moment and a staff member who had been impolite and not greeted me or said a word the entire duration of my visit, then rushes up to me and demands I wear a mask when I already had one on my face, just because I moved it off of my nose for a moment. Now I understand the importance of safety in these times, but there is a way to go about it with respect, and the people running this store do not respect the customers. They lied in their reply and said I took my mask off completely, which never happened? These guys have no respect for customers or keeping the culture alive and are conceited liars, lame shop. Got exactly what I needed from The Disc Exchange in St. Pete with no issue, much nicer guys down there.

If youre looking for a repair of a turn table, this is NOT the place to go. Customer service here is HORRIBLE. They wont work with you, they will argue with you. They handled my situation very unprofessionally.Edit* as a response to their response, so SORRY for not using the correct terms, Im not an expert on these things obviously, my bad for using the wrong word. See, you all told me to replace the turntable but did not tell me why, and did not tell me the specific problems that it was having (otherwise how else would I have known? I dont work on these things. I just thought I was using it incorrectly at first). There was an issue with it that you noticed, and you did not tell me about the issue. You simply suggested replacing it, which I thought you meant because it was old.And in response to the set up I have, I never plugged the record player into this setup before, so thats not what blew it out. I got the set up as a gift. So yes, I know I was not charged for any work you didnt do. But I came home with a record player that still does not work because even though you saw an issue, you were not clear in your emails and continually just told me to replace it instead of asking if I wanted you to fix the specific issue. And instead of trying to work with me as a customer, you got defensive, similarly like in the response to my review. Instead of saying okay, lets work on fixing this issue youre having, you got mad at me for not understanding why things were not working. It is UNPROFESSIONAL. And emailing me again telling me to learn something and take responsibility?For those reading this review, to summarize, there was a major problem with the record player and I was not told about it. Ron suggested that I replace the turntable because I really dont like these turntables. That is verbatim what he said in the email. He also said in that same email, that the player is working as it should. It is indeed, not working at all. That is why I am upset. Notice how defensive they get when someone is unhappy with them, as seen here and in other reviews.ALSO, in their response, they claim that they told me the player was working intermittently in their shop. They did not tell me this until after I brought the player back home and noticed that it was not working. Only then did Ron tell me that it was intermittently working when he had it. Their response in inaccurate, and Ron is still emailing me personally and has asked that I take this review down.

Absolutely will not buy here again! Face masks are not required if there are less than 10 people in a location and those persons are maintaining social distancing.Persons who are exercising and maintaining social distancing also do not have to wear a face mask. There were less than ten!

This place has it all, old, new, hard to find, collectible, you name it. Reel to reel, amps, 8 tracks, vinyl, cds, blu ray, dvd, video games, comic books... It is nice for nostalgia but their prices are always great too. The staff is friendly and they do their best for COVID protection.

Great selection, and prices that make a trip to this location worthwhile.However...and this is a big However, there is an employee behind the counter who is frighteningly rude. An older dude. I have been shopping at this place for years (its previous location and this address too), and every time I go in, this man finds a reason to shout at me. I am a mild mannered, polite, shy person. Somehow, he seems to notice me, and goes into attack mode. The most recent times: He shouted at me, across the store, 50 feet Sir! You must wear a mask!. I turned around to see who he was yelling at. It was me. My mask was fully on. He didnt even apologize. Another time: I was inspecting a CD for scratches. He shouted You have to bring that up to the counter if you want to look at it! All the way across the store, causing people to look at me. Another time: I was looking at merchandise in boxes, on the floor. The boxes were there, with the regular stuff, it all seemed to be for sale. Sir! Stay out of those boxes!- shouting. There are many more instances I could site. I have also heard him be very nasty with other customers, both in the store and on the phone.I still will shop there, because of the good prices. But, to be nakedly honest, the thought of going there makes me feel very uneasy and filled with dread.Update, June 1, 2021: Something seems wrong, at this location. I would like to request that the staff of this location be re-considered. To be honest, they seem very selective about to whom they will treat normally, and those they treat with surprising disdain. I spend hundreds of dollars at this location, but somehow I always feel distinctly unwelcome there. I feel nervous and uneasy, in this store. The counter staff display atrocious attitudes, and play music as a painful weapon against customers. Why must it be this way? If the staff have become soured because of too many run-ins with crazy people, then, I suggest they find some way to improve their situation rather than take it out on me and other innocent customers. Yes I just called this place and ask them if they sold guitar pics. The guy responded with All we sell is instruments such as guitars LOL. organs & other instruments. Would not even consider letting me buy one. I just bought a 40th anniversary Fender Stratacaster & digital amp 100 watts. That Is why I go to GUITAR CENTER. I must have the worst luck - I have been here twice and both times left with an item that did not work! I bought a used PS4 game over a year ago. When I got home I received an error message on my console immediately after putting the game in. I returned it and the guy said he would check it out then call me back. No returns accepted but they did give me store credit at least. He called me back the next day to confirm that it did not work. It took me a year to find myself back in the store. I bought a handful of DVDs and one of them gives an error message and wont play. I even tried playing it on two different consoles. I dont have the energy to return a $2.99 used DVD, but you guys should really test out your used stuff! The store has a good selection and cool vibe, and no one else on reviews seems to have this issue. I must just have terrible luck with this place! 2/2 junk! :(

Only problem is the overview section on here says people typically spend 25 minutes here... malarkey! Expect to spend hours. Its a shame they wont let you spend the night.

I went in there on a whim, searching for a DVD of an obscure Australian movie, Kenny.The staff was very welcoming and extremely friendly. Best of all, they checked the database and had the movie...and the guy located it in under a minute!

I like the spaciousness of the new location. It is easier to see whats there, and it allows new categories like books related to bands, and other memorabilia. I hope they have lots of customers bringing in stuff so I can add new things to my collection :)

Or giftcards for those hard to buy for people. Their buy from you process was super easy. Theyll go through it all. No need to pre organize. You dont even have to stay. Drop some stuff off, theyll call you when they know what items they like (need). Pick up $ and whatever they cant use right now. Overall, definitely check it out.

Additionally, they have a small section for the geek in you.The staff is friendly and will help you anyway they can in order to find and get you what you want. Also, if you just want to talk music or movies, the staff is always there to converse.The Sound Exchange is also a place to sell and trade your old stuff. There are very few places like this left. It’s always fun to visit this establishment.
