Great selection of delicious Japanese grocery products that you wont find in a regular grocery store, so many exotic food products to try, Ive bought for about 200$ and I already regret that I havent picked more since theres no Japanese grocery store in my area. Theres also cooking wares, souvenirs/decoration stuff, hygienic products like shampoos and whatnot, sake, beer, pastries and frozen foods, etc. Its clean inside and the employees are very respectful.

Very friendly employees/owner. You can find calbee, varieties of KitKat, yakult, chopsticks, Japanese beauty products, shampoos and hair color. I found my favorite rice which I was eating in Japan. I heard Japan TV Channel in background for a second I felt like I am in Japan. Overall this place is great if you are asian product fan. Definitely recommend this place and will visit this store again and again.

I dont like going to the register and oh no, not that item, oh no to much, not that item, ok I will take take; oh no not that. Took a trip to Hatoya Japanese Mart and was pleasantly surprised by the endless variety, along with the store staff being very inviting and friendly as well.I originally came shopping for spring roll sheets to create a Philippine dish, but found so many hidden gems that had me in the store shopping for everything from Japanese Anime to Japanese wines. Within each aisle, there are collections of goods and merchandise labeled with English and Japanese kanji, so for those interested in learning the Japanese language, it is a great place to shop. Their book and dvd selection is also massive, so it would be an excellent place for gifts, presents, etc.If I had to make any suggestions, definitely give yourself enough time to search around, as the aisles can become slightly overwhelming with so many options and when shopping with a time constraint can be very tough. I spent a good 40 minutes browsing through the store and still didn’t see all that I wanted to see. Currently the stores hours are until 7 PM, so if you’re going in early, you can make the most of the time.I will definitely be visiting again soon to shop for more food items and find more great things. Highly recommend.

This is one of Charlottes only true Japanese grocery stores that I can think of. It is not really an Asian market so to speak but truly a dedicated Japanese grocery store. The young lady or gentleman who work the front register speak very little English however they are the most helpful and friendly people that you will ever encounter in a retail store trying to help you the best that they possibly can.If you are looking for something also such as a Japanese type gift or Japanese candy it possibly can be found here if not at your local Asian market you can also get Japanese DVD movies here to rent.Anytime I am in the area I always stop in just to walk around even if I only buy a few packages of soup in a bunch of different packages of candies because they are so friendly when you walk in I absolutely love it.

It is also a good place to find things such as matcha powder, curry, miso paste, bonito flakes, etc. There are also some selections of cakes which are hard to find elsewhere.Just drop in and browse.
