Theres not much to say.Its a Safeway.They are in the neighborhood to serve the community but their shelves are bare/empty.I understand there are many products held up in the shipping ports but not having cat food on the shelves is totally ridiculous.I thought about substituting with canned tuna.It too was not available on the shelves.Not replenishing product is a bad sign of the times.Maybe Its because they cant hire folks who want to stay.Hopefully things will change before my next trip.

Always have a large supply of sale items during sale. No rain checks needed. And their Chinese food and hot food at their deli closes early but is worth making it there before it does close. Bakery is even better !! Best place to order birthday cakes in advance, I swear you can gain weight just walking thru there.

Came in later in the evening to avoid the rush. Picked up a rack of beef ribs and a box of popcorn. Quick in & out shopping visit.

I have cats and they have very good prices on cat food, depending on store you can get some very good prawn cocktails or a Chinese bowl. Its a enjoyable store to shop in.

Two weeks ago I bought bad apples, yesterday the lettuce was wilted.I go to bring it back, one cashier with twelve people in line. At these price, we should get top of the line. Im going elsewhere.

This is an average size Safeway but has been at this location for many years the staff are wonderful and helpful and the place is always very well stocked

Store was completely stocked however... there was an entire row of expired BBQ sauce. I really wanted to try the brand but they had none from this year. 😔

Everything is nice and fresh. Problem parking. Gas station sheep gas if you use your Safeway card. Cheaper than Costco.

My store for 16 years! Staff is like family to me. A lifetime shopper of this company and investor this store offers a blast of the past being smaller. Personal service that is extraordinary unlike the large stores. With great selection of products and constant attention to freshness you must visit!

Always have a great AD, and their mark downs at the back of the store are always worth a look!

What I hate the most is the long lines! If you can’t manage to open another register with another employee’s walking around, you don’t deserve a good review. Also I had to wait for long long time at the the deli section, because it had one person there. And it was almost empty! Ver little chicken assortment and half of salads are missing. I mean cmon! Get your staff together! The moat valuable thing in life people have is time!I cant wait for a new big SafeWay to open in Hercules Pinole area. All Safeways around here are horrible...

Went to the deli. Very nice customer service. Good for and good deal for lots of food. I got the $7 hot meal combo with tenders and I even have left for tomorrows lunch.

The store was well maintained but difficult to find employees willing to assist. Ask an employee where I could find Tai tea in the large tetra box, employee told me she would check and get back to, after waiting about 5 minutes I gave up and left the store with the items I had. My son wanted it badly so we went back in and walked around, the young lady acted like she had no idea who I was. To make a long story short my son located the tea and we were out..LOL

That Safeway of Pinole is always super busy my wife went in the store and I sat in the car with my two dogs. But that’s my go to store when I need something it’s going to become a bigger store soon

I used to be able to buy roast chicken with several flavors and now there is only one that is not bad but there were better ones. And the chicken itself was better.

This is a feedback for Michelle, manager of customer service at Safeway Tarahills Pinole. She is unhelpful and not deserved as working in any customer service. I get line to buy a propane tank at cashier, and I am asked to reach customer service department where Michelle stands freely. She asks me to turn back to cashier. After I am at cashier again, nobody helps me, and I am asked to go to Michelle. Unfortunately, she doesn’t help at all, and ask me go back to cashier. As a manager, Michelle should contact to her team rather than ask me to go around. She doesn’t want to help customers. It’s so sad for Safeway to have her.

Old, no frills storefront. Friendly staff. Very small. Sometimes undependable for your items.

I went late (22:40) to Pinole Safeway to grab some grub & kombucha. Shocked that they only had 16 ounce kombucha. El Cerrito Safeway has the 46 ounce kombucha, but I bought good grub. Thanks Pinole Safeway. You saved me from a fast food faux-meal.

For such a small store, it has lots of the items/brands that I regularly buy. I go here more than any other grocery store in the area.Dont really notice a good savings like I used to feel I was getting at Safeway. That may have to do with the fact that I just spent over two months in Kentucky where I shopped at Walmart Super Store and the grocery items were substantially less such as $1 to $3, or more, less on items I was used to paying $3 to $5, or more, for here in the Bay. But then, gas was $1.94 a gallon. That price was really noticeable at the pump! ☺️They do have the fixed kid seat instead of the fold up seat, which I hate at any store.

Not to crowed. Never have to wait more than a couple of minutes in line. Great when I only have to grab a couple of items. In and out.

This is a small Safeway in an out of the way area in Pinole California it is clean and well run. Friendly and personable staff.

The store, overall, has a few dingy details, and needs some repair and maintenance, but - overall - Ive had positive experiences here.For the most part, the staff is made up of awesome, friendly, helpful people.

A very old and rundown store. Understaffed and no option for self checkout.

The place was busy, it looked like I was going to have to wait quite a while with my 5 items, when Roshawn saved the day! He opened a new line for me. He was professional and even though it was busy, he had a smile on his face. Future manager here, dont let him get away.

Just ran in to buy cat food before i went to work . In and out didnt even wait at all.

Store whats smaller than Im used to but it served all my needs. A big plus for the people who gathered carts, and sanitized for your safe use. The job classification of this store was the best of any store Ive seen this year.

They have a great variety of food and drinks and other things. Surprising how bit it is since it looks rather small compared to other locations like El Cerrito.

Do not observe state Covid-19 precautions. Its great that they were open on Christmas Day. None of the patrons in line were even trying to observe social distancing. and run around wearing masks like face diapers (nose uncovered, mouth partially uncovered,) The staff when told do not even try to effectively prevent Covid spread--they shrug or try to laugh it off.

Only place I could find poinsettias, All black dress rear not appropriate for Christmas worn by all employees something more cheerful would off been nice

This is a lousy little Safeway. Ive stopped in, a couple years ago to find a foul dairy smell. Yesterday I walked over with my 9lbs hairless dog. The security dude wouldnt let me in.So we drove to Trader Joes a mile away.

Hate this Safeway the line always takes forever and they work very slow. Literally waited an hour to pick up a cake from the bakery.

All lanes are open most days. Store front is getting better.

I love this small store. They have everything you would want except lager behringer wine, and the meat department is a little small. Ill only shop here and they handle this covid-19 thing wonderfully. Oh and short lines I live it.

Safeway is in a great location but needs more friendly employees, people see unhappy. But otherwise mt experience was ok.

Has everything you need in a grocery store

I worked for Safeway deli in Martinez for 10 years. I moved back to our area in 2009 I wanted a sandwhich this passed SUNDAY YALL STORE IS GHETTO AND NOT CLEAN. LIKE MARTINEZ. I ASKED FOR A TURKEY SANDWHICH WITH PROVLONE HE PUT ON SOME DAYUM BLU CHEESE. I WAS NOT HAPPY BOUGHT 4 SANDWHICHES AND THRU THAT MESS AWAY. MAKES NO SENSE DO BETTER

I dont live in this area however I went there with my grandson and thought it was very nice.

This Safeway feels small and cramped compared to other locations, which is even more of a concern in these times of COVID-19. The variety, prices, and staff friendliness are on par with any Safeway, its just more uncomfortable.

I grew up going to this store. Checkers and management are very friendly and helpful. .Store is a little small but easy to maneuver. Products are great.

Worst customer service at checkout. Very unfriendly or they ignore you when you say hello. I had been a loyal Safeway customer for decades until I came across this store when I relocated. I tried many times to give them another chance (for years) but it didnt get better. I now shop at their competition.

An older and more grimy Safeway, but gets the job done, I find everything that I need here, plus a lot of clearance items in the back that I usually grab (which is the plus side of this location). However, youll need to make sure the cashiers actually scan the orange clearance coupon stickers on the product to get the discount. Customer service was great though in terms of sorting out/applying the clearance discount when I came back the next day with my items and receipt. Had to wait for a long time for someone to get to the customer service counter though.

I like being able to use my Safeway card to get extra discounts and the digital coupons, during this pandemic this helps out a lot

That was first time going there and it was a nice experience.

Their Rodeo location will be closing soon in April. The new location will be opening in Hercules sometime in April, I think like on the fifteenth. They have already stopped stocking their front aisles. Shelves look bare.

Been going there since 1975. I get in and out quickly through handicap lane, many stores dont have express or cater to handicap or seniors. Food nax for one. They have great prices, but i hate going for that reason.

Smaller local store, equipped with a wonderful staff. They are very friendly and helpful. If you dont see an item on the shelf or in the refrigerated/frozon box, they will check in the inventory in the back to try and vet you want you need.

Lines are soo long! How hard is it to get more cashiers to work when its rush hour?? Ridiculous! What are you doing? Don’t you understand that time is the biggest concern of every person today and standing 20min in line of a Safeway is just horrible!

As you know Safeway is one of those stores like most grocery store is it has everything that you need this particular Safeway meats and exceeds my expectations beyond the product is the service and thats what makes a difference for me when I asked one of the workers for an item they want to take me to an even though Im willing to go on my own this last visit I happened to ask the worker about making mashed potatoes she took me step by step how to make an amazing set of mashed potatoes for the holidays keeping in mind what was going to go into them and also gravy maybe going over the top so yes I very much appreciate the people the service everything Safeway has to offer youre my number one spot and yes I drive a little extra to get there cuz I passed Trader Joes I passed Sprouts. To be a name-dropper also Pass lucky see it there happy holidays

Ive been going to this supermarket since I was a child. They are friendly and helpful. I personally find Safeway a little high priced but they also have good sales any good app for savings. One of their managers Anthony always goes above and beyond to help. I would give it a five but sometimes at night they dont have enough checkers and I know its not their fault it comes from higher management

Bread shop,did what i request.(slice the bread l was to buy)but with bad acctitud so the bread look smashed ruined I end up not buying it.ihave no pictures if I knew that can complain I would have taken the olgly bread.

I love this Safeway even though its small. Actually thats probably a big reason I do like it so much. Theyre able to offer great discount prices to people who use Just for you online to add specials to their safeway account (by account I mean if you sign up for a Safeway card you can get extra savings in the store (you can see the member prices) and if you use their Just for you online, you get even better discounts. Most stores that are refurbishing or refurbished are charging the customer to pay for their improvements and its ridiculous. Groceries are so expensive today we need every break we can get. And their people are great too. Friendly. Helpful and efficient . I hope they dont close this store. If they build a brand new one I know their prices will go way up and Ill be looking elsewhere for discounts on food.
