Awesome variety of mums, pumpkins, and gourds for the fall season. Owner (?) was extremely kind and offered us free pumpkins because we came the day before Halloween.

Knowing nothing about gardening I went to Jim Jenkins Lawn& Garden to buy several new Boxwood shrubs for the front yard. A woman helped me and assisted in choosing the correct ones and assisted with good to soil to buy, hopefully they wont die in a year. Any questions I had she had the answers. Talk about choices, this location has it all.

Good selection of rose plants and their roses grow so big. I highly recommend the buy place. I have purchased more than 30 rose plants for my business landscape.

Tried this place out for the first time and boy oh boy was I impressed! DO NOT go to ROOT 88, this place is so much better. If you’re going to go somewhere else, go to SHRUBS N STUFF.

Great variety! Big sale going on now (mums, shrubs and more). They also have gorgeous chickens (not for sale, though) but fun to watch!

I live in Carnegie and have been shopping at and purchasing bulk supplies from Jim Jenkins Garden Center for several years. This year’s bulk soil (50/50 top soil/ mushroom compost mix) has produced one of my most healthy and productive gardens to date. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable compared to some of the other nursery/landscape supply companies I’ve dealt with previously. Their prices are very much inline with other garden centers, and I feel their prices for the quality of their bulk soil and mulch is well below other centers. I’ve always felt their team is professional, helpful and able to point me in the right direction. All said, I highly recommend Jim Jenkins and will continue shopping here for years to come. A word of advice to those who buy bulk soils- please try the top soil/mushroom compost mix. For about $40/truck bed load, it’s one of the best values out there.

Rude ownership and high prices

I find the owner to be a rude person. He will never get my business or anyone in my family’s. Many of my friends feel the same way.

The owner sounds very defensive replying to the negative reviews in such a snarky fashion and a bit combative too. Instead of arguing back with customers perhaps trying to solve the problem would generate a slightly better reputation. Albeit, slightly.I’ve lost 5 Arbovitae (even two they did, to their credit, replace) that I purchased last spring. Not getting into the ordeal because it’s a useless point based on the what I’m reading here and the way he replies to issues. I bought the same size Arbs from Lowe’s years ago and they are much healthier but I’d rather support family owned business, but not necessarily this one.The entire buying experience and install was lousy (but the summer help were great guys) and I ended up redoing most of what was done, which wasn’t a whole lot for the price I paid.I’m really only upset with myself on this snafu for not being more vocal from the start. Plenty of other more friendly, local nurseries in the area that I’ll return to.

The owner was very rude and condescending. I placed an order for delivery and they never sent it. Jim Jenkins said he would call me back 3 days in a row and never called then lied and said he did. No missed calls or voicemails. Jim then told me he can’t help me with my delivery and it’s over and it’s done and we can’t help you with any deliveries and hung up. Worst customer service ever! I was so nice and patient and waited for a week and I am shocked and so upset with how I was treated. I have asthma and have been Quarantined in my home for 3 months and was really looking forward to the delivery and gardening and Jim knew this yet still canceled my order and was so insensitive and disrespectful.

Very rude owner and I never received products. I waited for a week for my delivery and it never came. I called many times and the store phone goes to voicemail on the hours the store is open. They didn’t show and never returned my call. Jim Jenkins called back finally after I complained to a woman that answered the phone finally and lied and said he called and that he can’t deliver my items and that he can’t help me in the future with any deliveries. I was so nice and it makes no sense how he can choose to not sell or deliver to us in the future. Do yourself a favor and stay away!!!

Prices are on the higher side but that is okay when the selection are service are above average. There is some unique selections but their return policy is in the dumps. I have been purchasing annuals for many years for Jim Jenkins, including this one, but I had 1 plant that is struggling to stay alive. All of it’s brothers and sisters that live right near it are doing just fine. Jim Jenkins return policy is, they don’t care, the money is already in the bank. I won’t be shopping here anymore and I will be telling my story to all who will listen.

Firewood is probably the worst I’ve bought. Not dried at all. Didn’t feel like making the drive to my usual place, but I certainly won’t buy here again.

Just had a FANTASTIC experience with Jim Jenkins on Painters Run Road. We redid the front of our house and tore out everything. I went to the nursery and asked for help since I’m clueless. Bob called me a couple days later and now I have the prettiest landscaping! I told him to just make decisions himself because he’s the expert, not me! He created a visual rendering, I approved and then his guys came and knocked it out! I didn’t have to choose, plan or plant! HIGHLY recommend and it was a great price! I can’t wait for these plants to bloom but it looks good even now before they’ve even started to grow bigger and bloom!

The staff is always helpful and there is one woman, wish i could remember her name- i think last name is Jenkins, a cousin of the Mr. Jenkins? ; she is always very helpful! and i am very glad shes available for ideas and tips! And this year, I found items on sale, which was wonderful! we have moved a little further away, but i make sure to stop on the weekends whenever i am in need!

I love Jim Jenkins garden center. Their staff is very knowledgeable, their selection of plants and flowers is great, its not what you would find at a box store. Whether I come in for annuals or have a weed/pest problem, their staff steers me to the right product. Also, for the customer that is not a gardner, their lawn ornaments, garden flags and any other whimsical something that you could possibly need in your yard, I promise, you will find.

The owner is one of the most unpleasant and unprofessional business owners I have ever met. I bought there a few times before running in to the owner - after that experience I’ll never go back. If you like the idea of helping out local small businesses - met the owner of this small business before plunking down your cash. If you are looking for good quality inexpensive plants with a “no snarky” return policy go to any of the big box stores. If you are looking for knowledgeable advice go to any one of the half dozen landscape supply companies within a couple miles of Jim Jenkins Lawn & Garden Center.

I love browsing at Jim Jenkins. The staff is especially helpful and are very knowledgeable. The plants are healthy and I have never had a problem with any plant dying after being planted. Andrew is very helpful!

This place is the best !! Found it late this summer and I have been there at least 5 times. Beautiful plants, great quality trees for my front yard with a three year guarantee!! Fall and Halloween we went back twice to see the pumpkins and they had a kids day on a saturday with crafts for the kids and a master pumpkin carver. Last week we got the most beautiful Noble Fir Christmas Tree, they come all the way from Oregon !! The prices were much better on everything than the place at the end of the street or the farm market around the corner!! We will back !!!!!

Yes they have a great selection of plants/shrubs trees but beware, they do not have a one year guarantee. I bought two hydrangea trees last year for $179 a piece and they havent come back. Otherwise they have the best selection in town, not as big as Trax Farms but they offer more unique varieties. Plus they delivered the trees for me for free when I couldnt find suitable transport. Too bad they didnt make it.

I visited at a busy time, asked for assistance and received it in an acceptable manner. I purchased $140 worth of merchandise, two nice planters and two hibiscus. I also purchased a common annual that died within the week. I could have purchased the same annual at Lowes for three dollars less.I get that nurseries cannot always guarantee their plants, but I also figured that going to a nursery equated to better product and more care given to their inventory.Instead I think the provider of these plants juices them with Miracle Grow then sells them to anybody. And Jim Jenkins just adds three dollars and pushes them out the door.When I asked for a replacement after telling them how much I spent, my request was denied. I doubt I will return.

Just left Jim Jenkins. The young lady behind the counter could not have been any nicer. She was helpful and friendly. She even carried stuff out to our car. Good Job! We were very satisfied.

Was told a delivery of mulch would be before Noon.Two hours later and no mulch. Finally got someone on the phone and they said oh the driver had to deliver a tree this morning.Said a phone call would have been nice.Asked if I could get a discount and was told well you can cancel your order!!!!!!!!Was very hesitant to use them in the first place wont use them again.How nice of you go on and slam your customers when they leave honest complaints. I have read other replys you have left and my gosh!You should use these complaints to better your customer service.First off you never called to tell us You cancelled the order. We only found out hours after the fact when my husband called to find out what was going on.Very very poor customer service.All the positive reviews are probably left by your employees you paid to post.

Mr. Jenkins and his crew have been the greatest at helping the residents of Bethel Park recover from flooding. They are using their trucks and manpower to get rid of carpeting and furniture. He needs to be given a big thank you!

Absolutely horrible experience. The staff wasnt bad, the owner was such an inconsiderate person. I had issues with the delivery crew and I tried to resolve with the owner. He was non-responsive after I called multiple times and finally he told me to stop calling and he dared me to file a complaint.

REALLY DURWOOD, YOU RECEIVED A FREE REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH WE DO NOT HAVE AN OVER WINTER WARRANTY, AND YOU STILL GO ON GOOGLE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT US! WOW YOU ARE REALLY SPECIAL!!

Extremely rude, will never go back. I dont think youve experienced truly rude customer disservice until youve been to Jim Jenkins. Try to get a refund and see what happens. Ask any question and youll be met with a snarky response. I cant wait till they go out of business. I dont know how these people sleep at night.

RUDE RUDE RUDE Bought a butterfly bush that never budded out the following spring so I took the plant back. I still had the receipt yet they made me feel like I was trying to steal from them. I wasnt sure if it had a guarantee or not, was there to simply check and get another if it did. In the end they did replace the bush but it was some of the most unprofessional service Id experienced in a very long time.
