Best Las Palmas, in my opinion. Tacos are always amazing, and they have quesadillas as well usually. We got six fat tacos for 15 bucks! They also have a sign saying what meats are available, which is really helpful when in line trying to decide. They have outdoor seating as well, so its safe to eat there when not crazy busy. Or we just sit in our car and stuff tacos in our face lol.Best sauce is green sauce :) My favorite meat choice is Al Pastor, its pineapple pork and sooooooo good! The chorizo and Lomo are great too, and cant go wrong with Carne asada. The market itself is big and has tons of great stuff if you love making Latin foods at home! We get our peppers and tomatillos and stuff here, and its much less expensive than trying to get that stuff at Giant Eagle. The produce is always great here! And we are hot sauce fanatics in our house, so we stock up on tapatio and cholula while there.

I am sick of going there and the store inventory is not fresh. Except for produce and milk, mostly everything is spoiled. Its really close to my house and I would love to be able to go there for the different food choices but I simply will not return other than to grab milk or said produce until they rotate their product correctly with new product.

It’s the largest Mexican grocery store I’ve found here. They have a great selection of foods. I would’ve given 5 stars but their conchas taste like fabuloso, which makes me think they’re not wiping the trays correctly. The trays and tongs are usually dirty and now during Covid I’ve seen many employees wear their masks below their noses or even just in their chin. I will not be supporting this store again until they change their practices.

This is my local grocery store so Im a little biased so Ill do my best. The building is old you can tell as soon as you walk in. That being said I love this place because it is such an indication of this neighborhood. Pittsburgh threw away this neighborhood. Threw away this market. Well a group of people came in looked at the pieces and said this is perfectly working and in good condition I can work with this and build this into something. Because of that this is one of the best Latin markets in Pittsburgh. It has one of the best Taco stands in the city. It has latin products made in the US and products made in other Latin American countries. It gives a culture that is growing in this city, this country a foothold. Its more than just a grocery store for this neighborhood. Its really part of the neighborhood. The young Latino can find a place to work and people that line here stop by to have a tasy taco after work. A real taco. Not the hard crunchy shell taco we Americans call taco but the grilled corn tortilla taco filled with savory cheep meat. Topped with your choice of veg. And sauce that range from mild green chillies to burn you so good red salsa. Its one of my favorite markets because its so much more than a market full of overpriced under seasond foods. Its a true representation of this community and one of the reasons we moved to this neighborhood.

I used to love the tacos until I saw the unsafe food handling. The worker serving tacos was using the same gloved hand to touch food and money. Disgusting! I can only imagine how food is handled in tje back. Shame on the owners for not stressing safe food handling. The other stores have you pay for the taco at the regsiter inside and they give you a ticket for the taco server. I hope the health departmenr cracks down on this place.

I love ethnic stores, and Mexican grocery stores are an adventure for me. This place might just have the best selection of chili peppers in the city. It has a deli that makes tasty fried Chicken and other prepared foods. My favorite thing is the taco stand outside. Any day you go, there will be half a dozen fillings like beef, Pollo, charuzo, etc. There is usually one veggie filling. Then you take it to the topping bar and finish it. Yum.

This place is OK. I live nearby and its pretty much the only market/grocery store in the Beechview area. I can walk to it which I love and if I was ranking it just on that Id give it a 5/5. I want to be fair in my review though so I have to give it a 3. The selection isnt huge but it should do if youre in a pinch for something real quick. Id never go here to do a major shopping trip. Its also pricier than your typical chain grocer but thats to be expected since they are local. I support them whenever I can and love that theyre so close but again I wouldnt recommend going here for those major grocery trips and I certainly wouldnt recommend anyone go out of there way to come here. Last but not least they have CALYPSO drinks in the cold section which I didnt even know they still made. They rule!

These days I know it as Las Palmas; while they do sell common grocery store items, they are more specifically known for selling items geared more to the Spanish-speaking market. In this case, I was looking for chimichurri sauces. At the time they only had one option, but as a change of pace it wasnt Goyas offering (although they did have an extensive selection of Goya products generally). In short, look here first for products aimed at the Spanish-speaking New World market.
