My daughter needed a mattress. We walked into Mattress Firm in Pittsfield, MA and we were met by Ralph. Ralph helped use pick out a mattress based on my daughter’s description of what she wanted. Ralph was incredibly helpful. We picked out a mattress, paid for it and had it in my car in 10 minutes. It was a great experience and Ralph was extremely competent at his job.

ONow an update a week later......more superior customer service. The box was too tall and without a hiccup said they would exchange it and gave me a choice of delivery dates this week. What? We purchased an expensive mattress in November, 2019- After two months, early January, 2020, we decided it was not right for us and exchanged it for another high end mattress. Ralph told us there would be no problem returning, if needed within the 6 months trial period. In April, we phoned to arrange an exchange, and was told by a Corporate Manager, Mattress Firm, Pittsfield, MA was closed until further notice, due to Covid 19. Understandable. He told us not to worry about the return. We phoned again in June and was told by a salesperson, Darnell, we were out of warranty, and there would be no returns. He was unaware of any pro-rated returns during closure and basically, rudely, told us we were out luck. After numerous calls to Corporate, (they direct you to email), we finally got through to a “manager” who apologized for Darnells uninformed behavior and we were allowed to get a refund after 20%, $500.00, Restocking Fee... in the fine print. The fact that we financed it and paid it off, and no longer have the credit card, does not matter, they must refund the closed account—

My wife and I purchased a mattress and box spring back in October 2019. The box spring broke today, and because wed purchased floor models, it wasnt under warranty. However, the person we spoke with on the phone, Ralph, was immensely helpful and arranged for us to purchase a replacement at cost.

We recently purchased a new mattress at Mattress Firm and realized after the 30 day trial period that the mattress did not work for me. I found that I was too hot at night. I discussed this with the salesperson (Darnel Alston). He was extremely helpful and understood my concerns. He recommended a firmer mattress which I am sure will alleviate my problem. He scheduled a quick delivery and pick up of our old mattress. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I have no problem highly recommending this store to anyone looking for a new mattress. After ordering via phone (online), promised my order (confirmed via email) on a frame being delivered on the 1st of DECEMBER, I attempted to call back with the number used to place the initial order since I had never received the frame (on December 1st). Diana - Like the Princess!My eighty five year old mother & I moved from Florida to Massachusetts recently. It was my mothers dream to move back home and spend the rest of her life here. We rented a truck for the move. After four days of driving we were HOME! When we opened the back of the truck, a small wave of water came out of the truck! We had been given a damaged truck - it had a hole in its roof! The manager of the truck rental company in Florida had inspected the truck with us - none of us saw the hole because it had been hidden by silver tape that matched the aluminum roof inside the truck. We lost EVERYTHING! My mother & I slept on air mattresses while the insurance company dealt with our claim. I spent so much money on the move. I had to come up with more money to pay rent and put down a deposit for a storage unit. Day after day I saw how the stress was taking its toll on my mother. After two weeks of sleeping on the air mattress, my mother was in so much pain that she was having trouble walking! I was so concerned, so stressed out, and I had very little money left. I knew I had to do something to help my mother. I had done business with Mattress Firm in the past. I had purchased two mattress sets from them when we lived in Florida. Mattress Firm always treated me with kindness, honesty, and professionalism. I called the Mattress Firm in Pittsfield, MA and Diana answered the phone. I needed to have a potentially embarrassing conversation with her so I felt incredibly awkward. I explained the situation to Diana. I went into detail about the truck incident, how we had lost everything including our mattress sets, that my mother was having difficulty walking, and I didnt have a lot of money to spend. Diana listened to every detail. She let me talk and never interrupted or seemed impatient with me. When I was finished explaining our situation to Diana the first thing she did was comfort me. She didnt talk down to me because I didnt have a lot of money to spend. She told me immediately that she would do everything she could to help us! My mother & I headed straight over to Mattress Firm to see Diana. She already had mattresses pulled out for my mother that were truly in our budget! She was so kind to us. She treated us with respect and truly cared about us. Diana worked directly with my mother. She was patient with my mother and really listened to what she had to say about each mattress. After choosing a mattress, my mother and I sat down with Diana and scheduled a delivery date & time. Everything was done perfectly! Dianas attention to detail was flawless. She sincerely asked us if she could help us with anything else. Diana earned our trust! Well see her again soon to purchase another mattress set. The delivery & set up went perfectly as well. I bought my mattress from Mattress Firm about 3 months ago, and its been one of the best purchases Ive ever made. I had been considering buying a new mattress but wasnt sure I was ready. My boyfriend encouraged me to at least start looking because my back was always bothering me. Our first trip to Mattress Firm was a good one. Darnell took the time to show me some of the mattresses and walked me through the differences of them. He wasnt pushy and let me browse once all of my questions were answered. I wasnt quite ready to make a purchase though so my boyfriend and I visited another store to take a look at their mattresses. They ended up being extremely rude and not helpful at all. After that experience I knew I wanted to give my business to Mattress Firm. My next visit to Mattress Firm was even better than the first time. Rothann was THE best! She spent quite a bit of time with me so I could find my mattress. She was easy to work with and very patient as I tried many mattresses. She was honest when one didnt seem to fit me properly and in the end was able to recommend the perfect mattress. Best mattress shopping experience ever tonight. We popped in to browse their selection and right away had help from a long time salesman, Ralph. He patiently listened to our current mattress issues and what we were looking for. He walked us thru several brands and models never pressuring us one way or another. He even added his own personal experience with sleep patterns, positions and how different models affected sleep. It was an easy decision thanks to his expert help. We walked out purchasing a mid range model Serta iseries with a motorized adjustable base and happened to catch the extended Presidents Day sale. Cant wait to try it out. Worst experience ever, buyer beware!I spent $2000 on a mattress I can not sleep in. I specifically asked for a non memory foam mattress because of heat issues with the foam. The salesman said that the bed had the most cooling technology of any bed and pushed for the sale even though it was exactly want I did not want. I tried to take it back for an exchange the very next day because it was definitely not what was sold to me and the store would not exchange for a bed unless it was of equally or higher value. Neither Sealy or Serta make a non memory foam mattress for $2000. The store Managers would not even let me make an exchange of a less expensive bed and let me take a $1000 loss. I now have a $2000 king size mattress in my attic and had to go out and spend an additional $1000 for a non memory foam mattress. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will try to sell you a expensive product and then refuse to stand behind it. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding this issue. If you are looking to buy a mattress and you live in Berkshire County, go elsewhere.
