I have been coming to this apple ranch since I was a child and have seen it grow to the greatness it is today! Although busy, there is plenty of parking here, restrooms are kept clean and service is fast and friendly! They offer many open air areas with picnic tables to eat at including a large deck. In the pie house you will find lunch meals (we like the chili cheese fries), hot coffee/chocolate and pies. They also sell fresh apples at the market place area (parallel to the pond) along with a plethora of apple items. The apple cider is delicious! I also highly recommend their apple cider wine! Today we picked up a Sour Cream Apple pie to eat after dinner, as well as our ultimate favorite, Dutch Apple Pie. The Dutch pie we got frozen to keep for next months Thanksgiving! There is plenty to see and do here. From the arts and crafts vendors, face painting for the kids, fishing at the pond, the chocolate factory, pony rides and delicious apple everything, you are sure to find something for everyone in the family!
Came here on a Friday afternoon around 1pm....now Ill never come on a weekend!!!I usually come here every year on a weekend and it is ridiculously busy. We met up a few friends here and we all were able to park together and it was a breeze! In addition, there was no line for the donuts, caramel apples or ANYTHING!!! Our group had 4 adults and 7 kids and the kids were able to run wild in the grassy area and we had no trouble finding tables. Everyone working was very kind and welcoming. No masks were required minus getting your face painted but the kids are used to wearing masks so not a problem. The gentleman working the pony area accepted both cash and cards.Definitely looking forward to our next trip on a weekday! The caramel and chocolate dipped apple is to die for!!!! So AMAZING!!!! You have to get it!
Great place, lots of goodies to choose from. I like to get the grilling sauces from the Fudge Factory and my husband likes the stores fresh apple selections. Also, the apple donuts are AMAZING. I did notice hardly anyone was wearing a mask though.
Pretty cool family day. The apple wine and beer was really tasty. Not overly sweet. Looks like a nice place to walk as well! Pony rides for the kids!;)
Ridiculously overpriced! And a pain to get to, due to all the road construction as of late. Parking can be a pain. But, its a pleasant experience; the people are kind, everything is fresh, and the Fudge Factory has some amazing treats. Support the local farmers - after the fires and Covid, they need it.
Ive been going here for 42 years. My father took the entire family every year. Then I started taking my family. Now my nephew, is going. It never gets old. The pies are very good. The apple donuts, wine, fudge house, the crafters are amazing especially the pottery. We bought two pieces. I have never seen anything like it. Oh, the apples, the Fuji where great. Well be back.
Amazing venue. The scent of Apple Fritters was intoxicating. Enjoyed sitting by the lake on comfortable picnic tables watching families enjoy the ducks.
The shops, property and festivities are great, but hold your Pee! The bathrooms are pretty rough, often overflowing 😬 and the extra portable potties are full of it to the brim of the lid. We toured the orchard on Wednesday so imagining a weekend scenario for the restrooms is concerning. We left with some jam, caramel sauce and fritters which were enormous and delicious!
Great place to take the kids, have some fun and get some good food. Pies are all delicious. Donuts are great and they have a great selection of other foods. Make sure to visit the store for apples, salsa, wine and much more! There is a pond in which you can pay to fish from. Candle making and face painting activities. Also lots of people selling cool stuff they made themselves. We come here at least once a year and plan on doing so for many years to come.
This is the best. You get your donuts, pies, fudge, lunch and even look around at all the craft vendors. Love it!
A lovely outdoor activity, if you come on the weekends prepare for Extensive bumper to bumper traffic. Weekdays are generally nice and relaxed.
This was our first time visiting Apple Hill. High Hill Ranch was very well organized and handled the large crowd very smoothly. We arrived about 10 and there were already lots of people on site. We enjoyed the selection of artists with a variety of wares. The dutch apple and berry pies were delicious. The line for donuts was long but moved quickly.
Had a great time. You need to get there early to get in quickly otherwise you will spend most of your day in line just to park. Bring cash, some vendors have square, but most of them prefer you use cash.
Fun some places closed like pumpkin patch and animals. Lots of shops and even Halloween stuff. I love the Carmel Fudge Apples. PS the cider is bitter. No joke
High Hill Ranch is always a great place to visit. One of the easiest apple farms in Apple hill to get into and out of, conveniently close to hwy 50. With a wide variety of quality apple products and fun local arts and craft booths to explore.
Ive been coming here for years, this spot is the most popular. (Try and avoid weekends if possible) High Hill is becoming a bit too touristy to me, and us full of overpriced goods. But they have the most exquisite apple donuts, and sweets. My advice, come on a blustery cold weekday morning, possibly with rain, and cozy up in the bakery in the cabin, order a warm slice of pie and youll be glad you came!
An awesome fun family friendly place with amazing donuts and apple fritters and all kinds of sweet stuff and things to do.
Great location. Great pies. Great soft serves at the fudge factory😋
Love walking around and looking at all the vendors amazing work. Everything handcrafted. Theres some amazing food up on the upper level of the building and down below there are more crafts. Nice scenic walk and beautiful pond. You can fish there for catch and release but do have to pay. Enough Parking but can get very crowded
Love this place! We go every year and just went again yesterday. Something for everyone, pandemic or not. I love shopping at the different artist booths, and they have the best tasting burgers you could ever imagine. Even though it’s popular they are organized with parking which is a nice plus. We’ve been taking our family here for years. Our daughter has moved to New York, and our oldest works full time so this year we only had the youngest two with us but I’ve included some other photos from through the years.
Although High Hill can be really busy, they have parking down to a science, and it is a great way to spend an afternoon with friends and family. Hard Cider is great, get your apple fritters early ir they will run out! Ill be going back to pick up some Christmas gifts next month.
High hill has really gone down hill lately (pun intended) the prices are outrageous, even compared to other ranches. We were shopping 5 minutes before they closed, went up to buy something and they said they closed the registers early, but didnt bother to tell us while we were looking around. This used to be one of my favorites, but I think I will skip this for more friendly spots.
Great time, fun for all. Adults wine tasting, kids pumpkin patch, etc.
Great to visit in the fall. Lots of treats. It should be on everyones yearly calendar.
Great clean and wonderful place to visit beautiful views a must do on your list to visit.
Great sugar free pies. Little pond very cute place to walk around, have lots of picnic tables to sit at and enjoy on a sunny day. Extremely crowded on the weekends
Really nice place lots of farms to visit, the apple cider is fantastic. All the booths are amazing, If you havent been there you have to go and adventure the atmosphere i would recommend this place to everyone.
Love it here some good vendors. Fudge shop is awesome. The apple butter is the best. The apple donuts are also a must have every time we go.
Hidden star and I forgot the name of the other one with a pond was fantastic.
This was my first to here and to the Apple Hill region. Its a very beautiful area with multiple orchards and wineries. I recommend arriving early because this place gets packed by 10am, plus the whole area becomes high traffic. High hill ranch is super busy and there are lots of crowds. This is definitely a family oriented place and there were a lot of kids enjoying the day. The fishing pond is a nice touch and there were many fish being caught. There a nice variety of food and drink options as expected but the lines were long that day.
Vendors and staff were very nice. Very clean kept and nice looking. Already came back twice and sure to come back again soon.
We got there early for apple donuts. Got apples donuts and few other things. Great place to go. Parking easy and the staffs great.
There are a lot of ranches and this is one of the top ones visited. When you go take your time and see all that the area has to offer.
A little pricey, but a fun place to take the family.
Always a great place to go to this time of year. The apply pies at The Fudge Factory are bomb. Tons of people this year though.
Personally I was little disappointed the the engine the net describe the place differently than what I wanted I thought everything was in one place but it was all scattered in the winds. But all in all it was a nice walking around the few little Vineyards in different businesses that was displaying there items. It wasnt diabetic friendly they had one sugar free pie but are there all in all I just was a little disappointed in what I saw. I didnt have time to go all over the hillside four different things to do. Now that I went to this place I know what to expect and Ill map out my maybe next year well see
With no doubt it get busy but it go place to go. For lunch if you get tri trip you can share that meal with another person it lot. Worth it too.
Very fun place! Many things to do.
Always a fun trip! Perfect weather as well
Cool place. A lot of different vendors selling their wares. Bought a dozen apple doughnuts and let me say, they are delicious. There was live music, but keep in mind its oct 1st. I Definitely recommend stopping here and enjoying the fall vibes.
Usually go to apple hill mid week to avoid crowds. Went Sunday afternoon mostly curious to see if any effects from the Caldor fire. No effects noted. Nice size crowd with plenty of parking and seating. Well staffed in all retail areas. Apple donuts great as usual. So happy to see High Hill and other growers doing well. Nice group of crafters.
One of my favorite spots at Apple Hill. They have the most moist, delicious apple donuts! But I have to detract one star. We were enjoying their pond when the nice fishermen next to us were yelled at from across the pond by a worker who didn’t like that they were trying to catch and release without getting dirt on the fish, which they said was unhealthy. I understand there are rules that need to be followed, but the worker was very unprofessional, angry and rude. It made me uncomfortable and kind of turned me off from wanting to return.
Fun for the visiting family. Nice attractions
The shelfing is was to tight for 2 people to get thru I gave up and walked out the place is not handicap friendly the grounds are not concrete its like a handicap person walking thru a forest gravel doesnt work on a scooter wheel chair pot holes everywhere for as much money as this place makes they need to level the grounds and poor concrete now I only shop at boa vista orchards.
Went mid week and skipped the crowds. Clean and beautiful place with delicious pies and other treats. Always enjoy visiting this place.
We love it. We have been 3 times now and each time my kids and family love the experience
This place is classic. Its a single orchard with a slice of everything apple hill has to offer. Theres also a lot of picnic space and a pond. Usually packed despite lots of parking, lots of stalls seeking art, food, etc. Additionally, merchandise and food will be more expensive than other orchards.
We love High Hill! So much to do and I love all the vendors. Also a great day with the family visiting this ranch!
This place is just amazing! I love all the art vendors and wine shops, and who doesnt love homemade apple doughnuts and caramel from scratch?! Such a perfect little gem to bring the kidos on a nice autumn day. And dogs are welcome too!
Love it. A nice place to relax. Wonderful people. Would recommend everyone traveling or planning a get away to stop in
Get there early to get parking! Lots of great food and crafts. There are other ranches close by that you can U pick at!
Always great for seasonal family fun. Yummy apple treats, craft vendors, and amazing views. Annual tradition.
Pretty cool place. had a lot of good food and a little mini-market!
Great family place. Lots of food, donuts, crafts and the milk shake is to die for. Lots of fun.
Its always a great place. Got a peach pie for the first time. It wasnt too bad
Apple crumb donuts were excellent. Very very crowded atmosphere so that was unnerving. Staff seemed poorly trained at the register in the bakery but they did eventually give us our apple fritter. At first I thought it was because the girl was so young but then she said herself that she tends to get confused.
This is a great family venue you must go early because of alot if traffic it use to be a hidden activity but its gotten very popular
Great place! I love all the little stands with the local vendors and artists. The Dutch pie is absolutely amazing I highly recommend it. Buuuut be ready for some serious traffic on certain weekends. It can take up to 45mins to get to the place from the freeway sometimes but I think its a good tradeoff for what you get to experience.
Worth while visit at Apple Hill. Big crowds. Lots of vendors. Good for kids.
Best apple donuts, pies and vendors in apple hill!
Went on a Wednesday. Was nice as not as crowded as the weekend. Took friends from Arkansas.
Love this place place . My family goes there twice a year to get the best pecan and apple pies .
We go there every year. My family loves the apple fritters and pie. Its always crowded on the weekends.
Come and look around and its great. Everything else is about standing in a long line. And this....If you are promised an apple fritter after you pay dont leave...stand there and wait 20 your minutes....or youll eventually wait 40 minutes. Yay!
I grew up coming here every fall. The fishing was great for the kids and the man running the fishing area was kind. Helpful, professional, and overall made the experience worth it. My kids caught their first fish here. It was a little pricey but the guaranteed fish catching was so worth it for my kids smiles and fun!!! I love apple Hill. Its nostalgic at worst, and so much fun for the kids at best.
My favorite Apple Hill destination. Apple fritters are great. Something for everyone.
Overall a pretty good experience. I would recommend to go on the week days because on the weekend it is way to crowded.
Go during the week, no crowds! Love this place. Fritters are amazing!!
Annual trip for our extended family since the kids were small...20+ years. Never disappoints.
Great places for the family. We always have a good time when we go.
Have been visiting this place for years. Its a great place for the family with a variety of apples and artist booths to look at.
