Visited early in the day. Not crowded at all. They had the item I came in to get. They all were wearing masks so I felt comfortable looking around. They also let me bring my well behaved dog in so I was not rushing to get back to the car. A very pleasant visit.

Went in 15 minutes before closing hours yesterday, looking to purchase a pressure washer. I was assisted by both the cashier and another store associate immediately upon entry. I wash shown the wares, and guided through the purchasing process through by the associate whom was knowledgeable and patient throughout my visit. I left without a purchase and they waved me off with a smile. I then made my purchase online after discussing the options with my wife. 5 Stars.

Everytime I go to this location, I am always tired and yet they make time to say hello and if I have any question then to call upon them. My day can be so hectic that small things like that go a long way.Store is organized and the staff is always intuitive in my needs and making sure I am take care of. I love Northern, I really do, but this is out of hand. Several months ago, I went into the location closest to my house to purchase a locking chain pipe cutter. I had seen the item online, where it started that the store had 6 in stock. I arrive at the store with half an hour, and I cant find the item. I grab an associate, who also cannot locate them, and ultimately left empty handed with instructions to call my other local stores. Which I have, many times since. Its also suggested for me to call on the morning of thier deliveries to see if they got any on the truck. Ive done this a handful of times, and they are NEVER in stock. I regularly check for this item online because northern in the only store in my area that sells them. Two additional times its shown available in store on the website, both times a quick phone call to the store had saved me a trip, as they were actually out of stock as suspected. Finally, yesterday, and just in time for my husbands birthday, its indicated online that a store nearby (more than 20 miles) had two in stock. I immediately made the online purchase for store pickup. I drive out to the store, collect my order and over $100 worth of additional items, and go home. Kicking myself for not checking while in store, I discover I was given the wrong order. I call the store and am told that of course I just need to come back out there and have them switched out. So today, I did. To which I was informed that they were again out of stock. So either when I called last night the associate didnt think to pull them from the shelf to be saved for me since I had already paid for them, and clearly its a hot item and they should have been pulled, or they were never in stock in the first place and the inventory system isnt worth whatever they pay for it. Its incredibly frustrating. I wont be back for them. Ive done what I should have in the first place. I ordered some from Amazon. Guaranteed in stock with next day prime delivery.

Walked in no greeting. Walked around to find what I was looking for. Three or four associates walked right by me never asked to help. Finally walked up to register to pay for my purchase and then I was greeted on the way out. Store does have a lot of merchandise and well stocked.

The place has nice tools.If you bought tools and come here for warrant and repairs, the services are not that good. It depends which tool you have bought. Some terms are quite ripping off you. So please be aware and be prepared for that.The location is very convenient and parking you need to take care of your belongings. Plano is not that a safe. Don’t attract weird people.

Northern Tool seems like a great company to deal with. Being able to purchase online and have the purchase delivered to a local store at no $ cost is great. Their products seem very good quality for their $ costs compared to competitors like Harbor Freight.

Love this place,it’s great alternative to Harbor Freight or the decimated Sears! They have lifetime warranty on most of their tools and lots of industrial standard tools like Milwaukee and Dewalt!

This is my feedback to Norther Tool on their website.I purchased a pressure-washer on Thursday, 6:09 PM. I assembled it the next day at 5:45 pm. I proceeded to fill it with oil as directed by manufacturer instructions. I then attempted to fill with fuel, but about 15 seconds later the fuel began leaking out from carburetor or fuel lines???? It emptied onto my garage floor in 5 minutes. I recovered as much new, unused, oil as I could from the engine and then began to disassemble the unit for return or exchange.I returned to the store, near closing time 7:40 pm, I was informed that because I have filled the unit with oil, and attempted to fill with fuel, it cannot be returned. It was obviously unused, heck I hadnt even had a chance to unroll hose, pull off the protective caps or pull the start crank.The assistant manager then stated she could not exchange it for a working one either. She stated that service personnel was not on hand, but even if they had been they were so busy it would have still required some time to investigate.I told the assistant manager that was not acceptable, she stated that there was nothing she could do and that store did not allow an exchange or refund. She said that I could come the following day and bring this to her managers attention and he would be able to decide on what to do next.I asked her to call your corporate office or her superior and she reluctantly called her manager. Her superior did not ask speak with me. I was obviously unworthy to address or he/she was going to put me in my place, I mean how dare a customer expect a refund for an item that was so defective it couldnt even hold fuel upon the first time it was placed in the tank.So, she copied my receipt and took my phone number and I left the washer at the store to be looked at whenever the busy techs or manager have the time.What Northern Tool and Equipment need to understand is that everyones time is valuable, and there are many companies that realize this. Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Amazon, Tractor supply company, are a few that come to mind. Their return policies go above and beyond. I chose Northern Tool thinking that surely the customer satisfaction and return policies on defective items must be equivalent. I was wrong!Im not expecting your company to take a loss. I am expecting you to provide a new, working item, that when paid for actually works. If it is defective or needs repair when sold as new, then everyone expects the vendors make it right and to have personnel on hand and that have authority to make it right.Your policy is effectively Buyer Beware when it comes to equipment that necessarily needs to be fueled before it can be determined if it is defective, or even functional.So, no I am not going to recommend Northern tool to anyone. I am not satisfied with the results of a non functional item sold as new. And, tomorrow when I return to check on the status of the washer I left for inspection, I hope better customer service will be given. I am not too optimistic.

Placed order for store pick-up, two hours later got email that order was cancelled due to inventory shortage. Email said representative would call to discuss options. No call and when I went back to order to have shipped, website says in stock at Plano. So which is it? Is it in stock or is inventory out of stock? Disappointed.

They have some decent store brand items and good prices. But I cant stand that at checkout they ask if anyone helped me... dont put people on commission in a place like this, its just an odd experience as a customer.

This location offers poor customer service, a lack of communication and no real help whatsoever. Management could use an overhaul. Northern Tool in Plano is complacent and unsympathetic.

The blond young shorthaired manager was loud and rude to cashier and customer both in person and on phone.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! We bought an auger $400. Did not even work for 1 day. Took it back, wanted our money back so we could go elsewhere and buy another one. They kept it to see if they could return our money. They told us the carburetor was bad IN A BRAND NEW AUGER. So they replaced it. But we dont need it now. We needed one that worked WHEN WE BOUGHT IT BECAUSE WE NEEDED IT THEN. We had to buy another one.DO NOT BUY NOTHING FROM NORTHERN HYDRAUICS

Generally a step up from Harbor Freight. Lots of stuff thats a bit hard to find at most hardware stores, like trailer parts, compressor fittings, and some hydraulic equipment parts. This location is clean, well organized and the customer service is very good.

Helpful service. The guys working here went out of their way to get and help me find an oil pump when I was in a bind. Although they didnt have one quite as large as what I wanted they did send me out the door with a better option than what I had.

Should not even have 1 star. Horrible experience buying a brand new pressure washer. Pump started leaking after the fist 2 uses. Brought it to the store and did not accept a return. Was told they would fix the problem. Mechanic (tom) said it would take around a Week and they would call when it was ready. I had to call a week and a half later to ask and they said it was ready. Mechanic claimed there was no leak from the water pump and i went to touch the bottom of it and it was leaking even worse then before. No customer appreciation whats so ever and on top of that the mechanic wanted to charge me 8 dollars for the little bit of gas he put in the tank to test it. What a pathetic and lazy person.

Hey, they actually did what they promised - fixed my mower, honored my Greenworks warranty (did not cost me anything) and this timing wasnt too bad - about a week or two, better than the 6 weeks they quoted me in the beginning. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that the ladies at the counter when I first got there to drop it off were clueless - I had to ask for a manger, but once he got there things went smoothly.

Floor staff assistance is easy five star rating. The super slow check out staff is the issue here. You either get the geriatric wonder woman or the special needs lady, Both of them working together at two registers tends to quadruple check out time.........

I bought an auger power head three days ago from this store, but it stopped working today! I am a landscape contractor and know how to operate many types of gasoline engines!I took the engine to this place hoping for a quick resolution. Well I was wrong! They started blaming me that I have not mixed oil in the gasoline when the moron who checked it could clearly see the oil mixed in the gas tank. He told me to leave the machine and come back when the manager was in. It was clear to me that they were not going to make good on the quality of the product they sell.I smashed the equipment on the floor and told the crip that he can keep it! And now I am at Harbor Freight picking up the tool.

I bought a 4,000-W generator to use during a power failure when we needed to pump water from a basement at my church after a storm. The generator worked for about 6 hours, then stopped producing electricity. I called the manufacturer, and they walked me through a few trouble shooting things, then told me to take it to the repair shop back at Northern Tool. I did, but they told me they were backlogged and would need to keep it to look at it. The next day they called me and told me the unit was defective and I would need to pick up another one. I returned the next day, thinking I was about to get ripped off. But not only did they replace it with a new one, they even gave me a wheel kit to compensate me for my two extra trips there, 4 gallons of gasoline, and a quart of oil that Id wasted. The manager turned a bad experience into a good one, so Im very pleased.

Everytime i go in a northern tool. I end up buying more. The prices are great

I am fairly new to the pressure washer game and i went to get my pressure washer (that i had just bought) fixed and from start to finish i dreaded the whole experience. From the begging the customer service was very bad and everyone who answered me on the phone would always sign and would talk to me like i was a child. Although my machine did get fixed and is now working the whole experience was bad and that is the last time i go there for my pressure washer needs.

Some stuff is good unless its Chinese youll get a few uses out of it I bought a 5x8 trailer and its made in MEXIA TEXAS and its great and was a great price brand new. I dont like the fact that you have to use coupons in order to get a discount if you dont have it they wont give to you.Just like other review said if its questionable dont buy. You get what you pay for!

You should not buy power equipment this from this store. If the equipment is defective from factory, they will blame you and not exchange it or accept the return. They will try to fix it for you, but think about it, why would you buy something that doesnt work and have them fix it for you. Its like buying a refurbished item at a full price. Just buy refurbished at eBay or amazon! Theyre deeply discounted!
