Course is never the problem. The problem is the staff and “owners”. They are always rude about playing in a group. Always getting hounded by someone that our group is playing too slow when no one is around. They try to act like a big wig course but in reality they aren’t close to that. Maybe hire some nicer people and maybe you’ll get some more business.Because we will never be going back there.

Always enjoy my time golfing here. Were are occasionally told its too busy for a tee time on the phone, but when we show up to see if we can squeeze on its completely dead. The last time this happened, we literally paused on hole #2, where you can see holes #1, #2, #3, #8, and #9 and we couldnt see or hear another golfer on the course. Maybe they just had several groups cancel, but other then league nights, it always seems like its best to just show up. It also seems like they should be able to better capitalize on food and beverage service. Ive heard rumors of a new housing development on the course. That going though could be a huge upgrade, as it may provide more consistent patrons to those facilities. Having more consistent patrons would certainly help the course better plan and staff those facilities.

Want-to-be high end course. Terrible experience for casual golfers. Golfed with a group of 10 with three tee times. We all bought twelve packs from the bar. A part owner in a cut-off told one of our guys he couldnt bring in any of his own beer. Never had that experience before but fair so we all left the couple extra craft beers we brought in our cars. The same guy would follow us when near the club house and just grab beers from our carts to check the labels. Did this four or five times rudely implying we were breaking the rules (which of course we were not as we left all outside beer before hole one). After the front nine, someone else came out and said we needed to hurry our pace of play. We had three tee times and there was literally one group within three holes behind us. Another staff watched us from a golf course for two holes and again yelled our pace of play was slow. We waited 30 minutes and let a group of four through. We joked with them as they were teeing off. We told them why we let them play through. They said it certainly wasnt because of them and if anything they said they were playing slower than us!Never even saw another group the entire back nine.Constantly being hounded when near the clubhouse made for a terrible experience. I can only imagine they wanted to imply we werent good enough to golf there. For reference we played a two player team scramble and averaged around +1 per hole.Wont be returning.

I really enjoyed walking 18 holes at Platteville Golf Club. The course was meticulously maintained, especially around the greens and tee boxes. While the bunkers were hard, they werent unplayable. My only gripe about the course would be that many of the greens are hard with steep and sloping edges, so youll be faced with many 3 foot putts that break almost 90 degrees and little taps that roll 20 feet further than intended.Know that there is a $10 minimum for card purchases, but the nice lady at the bar let me buy additional food at the turn to pick up after my round was completed. The last time I was here was back in 2006 for a UW Platteville event, and I remember it being dry and having much fewer healthy trees. Today, its almost a completely different course. Definitely worth the value. I wish more courses in Madison would take after Platteville Golf Club! They could learn a thing or two!

Course was in super shape. Leaves and pine needles got in the way at times but they were working on cleaning up those. Very enjoyable course.

Great course, original 9 holes built in 1921 and they have the character to prove it. Small undulating greens and tree lined fairways means you better bring your A game. The back nine was added in the late 80s or early 90s and the new nine retains the character of the original 9 holes. Small undulating greens and tree lined fairways. Really fun course to play, seems like you should shoot lower than what you actually shoot. Makes you want to play again and again.

Ive been golfing this course my entire life and am surely biased. However, this course offers a challenge and continues to be the best option for play in SW Wisconsin. I live over an hour away and still drive back each week (and whenever possible) to play golf here. Fun and professional staff who make you feel like you belong. Oh and a newly rebuffed bar/grill area. Keep up the great work.

Number one social distancing gets an A-Plus. Number two selection of lager beers is terrible. Number three trees need to be cut back so a person in the Fairway can have a clear shot to the green.

Havent golfed here in awhile. Stopped Friday night for the fish. Absolutely the worst meal/dinning experience in a very long time. First soup and salad; uh no soup, no cheese or meat spread for the few crackers. No rolls and butter. Seat yourself, no silverware (went and got my own). No offer of water. No can I get you anything else, coffee? ImOne pat of butter for potato, sour cream in a squeeze packet. No offer of doggie bag. Had to go to bar to chace down bill. Definitely not a redo. Really sad.

Tough little course, in season the greens are true, nice and fast. Not a top tier course in terms of conditions or layout but for a small town its very nice.

One of the hidden gems of SW WI. The affordable rates for a course of this caliber definately make it destination stop equal to the resort courses for avid golfers. A great youth program, accessibility for university students & senior friendly tees & facolities make this a great place for golfers of all ages. The newly remodeled sports bar adds even more entertainment value for those wanting to play the 19th hole or just looking for an affordable watering hole with great food, spirits & multiple TVs to catch any event your groups is looking for. Platteville G&CC...A big time destination with our great hometown prices & environment .
