IGNORE ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS - My experience with Diablo Valley Gun Works has been very positive. They are very knowledgeable and it is evident they have had decades of experience working on firearms. All of the employees are extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. Do yourself a favor and pay this little shop a visit. After all, theyre practically the only gunsmith left in the east bay. I have yet to actually purchase a firearm (repairs only) however they appear to have very fair prices.

I can understand why some people have had a bad experience here. The owner and employees can be a little rough around the edges and it is old school in its mentality that they dont have much in the way of customer service unless you are in fact a customer. Despite all of that they are knowledgeable and their prices are fair. I bought my first handgun there and have purchased ammo from them as well. Support your local gun shop.

I first visited the shop on 06/23/12 to have an SKS rebarrelled. I was told by the attendant that this was a striaght forward process that would only take a couple weeks. After leaving my firearm and brand new factory shipped barrel with these jerks despite their negative reviews, I waited patiently for about five weeks before even calling and inquiring about the repair status. I was brushed off and told that I would receive a call from their SKS Specialist which now I clearly understand meant DumbA$$. I waited another week and then called back to hear the same type of excuses. Around 08/11/12, I finally talked to an older gentleman who simply stated that the repairs couldnt be done in-house as first told to me but would have to be sent out to their external gun smith or I could just pick my gun up which he suggested. He then went on to state that to remove the barrel, bore the head spacing and drill holes for the gas tube system were like ROCKET SCIENCE and would require all 10 points of the techs I.Q. to accomplish. I agreed to let them send the weapon out which I was told would be more expensive but as it stands I called on today 09/20/12 and they still have not sent out my weapon for repair or listed any actual technical reasons for the lack of service other than seeming a little racsist if you ask me. I could even hear another Specialist in the background tellin the guy that I was on the phone with that he was intent on charging me for storage if I didnt come in and get my firearm. I WOULDNT LET THESE CLOWNS REPAIR A CHILDRENS CAP GUN!!!!!!!!! If you have your merchandise there, GO GET IT NOW!
