Ken, the owner, is the most honest mechanic I have ever met in my life! Several times he has worked on my car, but wouldnt charge me, because he said he didnt fix anything. Just reset some college, I guess. He really knows his stuff, and I just love this place!

I engaged Ken to do a PPI on two classic 911s.Kens inspection was through and detailed and kept me from making an impulsive mistake.But more importantly, there were several mishaps involved in the inspections - none of which was Kens fault. As a result Ken gave me several breaks on the price. To be honest it was a rare willingness to make the customer feel whole - which was even more unique because I dont feel that Ken really had to sacrifice.Giving Ken this 5 star review is the very least I can do to recognize this basic decency.

For anyone that owns a German car, Ken is simply the best in the Bay Area. I live in the City (Marina) and drive to Pleasanton just for his team to work on my car. Ken and the team are detail oriented, extremely honest, and really good at their jobs. Their pricing is extremely fair and (perhaps most important) they stand behind their work.I just moved back from the East Coast and really don’t know much about a car. I own a BMW 335 – which is expected to be high maintenance. In the last two years, I have taken my car several times to Ken for normal wear and tear issues. Most recently, it had a problem with one of the modules that was extremely hard to diagnose. Ken and the team worked on my car for as long as necessary to make sure they could get a “correct” diagnosis and fix the problem properly. Any other mechanic would have likely charged me 2x what Ken charged or would have given up eventually (and recommend me to a BMW dealership). Ken and his team worked persistently and fixed the problem properly.I never feel the need to ask ahead of time what the cost because I know he is fair. He will never recommend extra work unless it is necessary. He spends the time to explain to you what you need done and why (as well as answer your questions/concerns). I STRONGLY recommend taking your car to SAS German Auto if you own a German car & live in the Bay Area.

These guys are the BEST!... Great, fast and friendly service. I had a bad experience with a Mercedes dealership, in that they tried to tell me that I needed $5,000 worth of various repair work... I took my Mercedes to Ken at SAS German Auto, and his experienced crew was able to ascertain that the dealership had LIED to me, and that NONE of the more expensive repairs were needed... AMAZING... this is one shop that you can TRUST!

Ken and his team are very skilled and honest people.After 2 decades of avoiding corner mechanic shops, and trusting only the dealer...SAS has proven to me over the past 1+ year that dealers are the places you cannot trust.SAS does not perform work that is not needed only to increase their profits. They are professional and give you straight answers that you can believe and can be proven.Vehicles break, and European cars are expensive to own and drive. SAS may not give you the diagnoses you want, but it will be the truth. And it will be priced fairly.Truly a “A no BS business”.....You will most likely save 1000s with SAS over time once you realize how much overpriced and often BS service you paid for elsewhere.
